I feel awful leaving a two star review as Tatiana and Paris, are wonderful humans and impeccable bartenders. However the food, was not good. We were on the hunt for aid au roast, we had gone around the corner to an all day Sunday roast place and unfortunately, that wasn't the case. We quickly began to call around and found this cute place just a quick five minute walk around the corner. We called to make sure they could accommodate 6 people and still had Sunday roast! Tatiana answered and was very lovely and Inviting so we excitedly rushed over. We were greeted and served by Paris, he was charming, attentive and very efficient in getting us our drinks quickly. We eager ordered our food, three roast beef Sunday roast, one trio, one végétarien roast Wellington,a fish a chip, one order of cheesy cauliflower and some kebab meat with pigs in a blanket. Everything came out quickly and looks delicious. That was clearly deceiving... the fish and chip was cold, when our friends brought it back the cook merely put it in the microwave and sent it back. The peas came back crispy and clearly microwaved. The chicken from the trio plate was really good, the vegetarian Wellington was meh, (I'd say that's expected of a vegetarian dish haha) the cheesy cauliflower was lacking and the pigs in the blanket were disgusting. The Yorkshire pudding was dry and very lacking, the creamy horseradish was very tasty and the roast beef dish was ok, mine was a mixture of dry and fatty and the second piece was perfectly cooked.. go figure. The parsnip purée was really tasty until I pulled a hair out of it after eating half of it.... Let me clarify the hair in my plate was not my hair colour or the same colour as any of the women at my table. We passed along our complaint to the cook and it fell on deaf ears.. she clearly didn't care. I pushed away my plate didn't touch it again. The only saving grace was Tatiana and Paris gave impeccable service, where friendly and we enjoyed their company so we stuck around till last call. So long story short, don't go here for the food but definitely go for the drinks and atmosphere. They have a tasty selection of cider, decent scotches and some good beers. read more

The best place for fish and chips!!! If you want good fish and chips then you have to come here! It's a great local pub, the atmosphere is cozy and friendly, and it's on a fairly quiet street so there's no chance of traffic ruining your lovely dinner conversation. The menu is pretty diverse, but I really only come here for the atmosphere and the fish and chips. This place is on my recommendation for anyone coming to London. They have great beers and good wine too so don't miss out on their selection. The service is efficient. If you come here in the summer there is seating outside. If you come in the winter, you won't want to sit outside. read more

Came here this past Sunday for Sunday Roast with my Uni program. They booked the whole place, but I think people still came in for beers, whatever. Sunday Roast was great! I was starving and when my roaste beef came..with its pudding? and crispy potatoes..and sides of veggies, i was delighted! My beef was tender, omg, soo good...and the potatoes were good, loved the gravey. The place is cute, and there's lots of room to settle down. The people are veryy nice, and very jolly which made the event even better..And it's right by Little Italy...so give that a look! But watch out for pick pocketers.. read more

Stumbled across this little gem last summer after walking along the canals and had a quiet drink in the sunshine. It's hidden in a little side street past Little Venice, was pretty busy today though with the canalside cavalcade on. We ordered a burger and the cajun chicken with mash and veg. Burger was average and chicken wasn't very nice, I texture and thinness of it seemed like it was prepped for chicken satay or something... So... won't be ordering food here again but will still come back for drinks -- they have friendly staff and the pub itself has a good vibe. read more

Not far from Little Venice, this pub is tucked down a side street which almost guarantees it remains a haven from the tourists. Cosy and warm in the winter, usually with a fire and sleeping dog to boot, and open with outside seating in the summer. Their range of beers is solid and ever changing and the food is surprisingly good. A great spot to start/finish a walk along the canal. You'd feel rather smug if this were your local. read more

After our first dinner, we returned four more times! The choices were numerous, food delicious, prices extremely reasonable. The serving staff was warm and highly professional. This is the second time my dad and I have stumbled upon this place after a walk through the Portobello Market. It's a nice oasis of quiet after a long day of shopping and haggling with the various vendors outside. Menu is pretty diverse; my dad ordered a sandwich and a Carlsburg while I ordered an Earl Gray and a veggie hummus spread. I really enjoyed mine, especially the root vegetables. The hummus was deliciously chunky - homemade? It was perfect after a long week of pub eating and drinking. The servers seem to be a bit indifferent. This is probably the only comment I have. Otherwise it's a good place to pop in for lunch! read more

Hello, I have a few issues i would like to name. 1. my daughter is pescatarian and before we came we checked out the menu to make sure there were other options than fish & chips. when we arrived she made her order a virgin shirley temple and the teriyaki salmon. they did not have either! the teriyaki salmon was on the menu. the "waitress" never told us the limitations on the menu. 2. the "waitress" isn't even a waitress she's horrible and not very hospitable. when we walked in, we waited at the front for the hostess but no one came or told us it was seat yourself. there were not enough menu's for my party of four and we had to share one broken one. at the end of the meal my daughter wanted a brownie and the lady refused to place my order as the kitchen was closed. of course we understand that but she was very rude in her correspondence with me. her name was Hebba. 3. the bathrooms are gross! 4. please look at the photo attached of what came of the nachos he ordered that happened to be "swimming in a puddle of cheese" - his words. 5. the fish and chips came with the skin on the fish. I hesitate to write another review for a pub I like so much, because I hate to see it get over run by tourists, but the Warwick Castle is just so great I can't resist! I'm a local but hadn't been there and had even heard that I might get 'funny looks' and made to feel somewhat unwelcome, but that wasn't the case at all. Even with my American accent making me an obvious outsider (although not a tourist), I received great service and had a really fun time there. Now I'm really going to sound like a Yank, but I have to tell you that I was jones-ing for a burger, big time. I'm not the typical McDonald's-eating American but I am a midwestern girl who likes a good burger a few times a year and it was time. I didn't have great expectations, but was more than pleasantly surprised at the cooked-just-right ample patty of meat, soft-on-the-inside-crusty-on-the-outside bun and abundant pile of chips! That and a bottle of Heinz ketchup (wink!) and I was a happy camper! They were having a trivia contest that night and everyone was playing. It got people talking to those around them and built up a nice commeraderie. It was a nice evening and a great pub. Hope I'll feel as comfortable when I return. read more

Proper British pub. The staff was surly but efficient and the menu is limited but tasty. We tried a variety of burgers which were all tasty. The butternut squash salad was good, but had too much olive oil. read more

We wandered in here after a long day sightseeing and it was slightly rainy so we needed a place to eat near our rented flat. There were my wife and I, our daughter and her husband and their two daughters. Apparently we were too touristy as our experience there was very bad. After deciding that we would try the Tuesday night special (good from 6:00 to 9:30) for the adults, we were informed by the gentleman behind the bar that there was no special that evening (it was 6:30) and no hamburgers (even though a woman who appeared to be a waitress was sitting there eating one). We decided that we would just find another place to eat. So, thank you Warwick Castle for sending us on our way, as we found a more upscale restaurant down the road a couple of blocks. We were welcomed there with open arms even though we were slightly undressed for the restaurant, and assured that we were fine and that they had a children's menu. The pub looks really great outside. Inside it's also OK but not much more. It's nice they have a real open fire. One man behind the bar looked like the landlord and there was a kidding youngster speaking Italian or something. They seem to be a Fuller's house with three handpumps. My pint was as cloudy as a soup. So the man wondered whether he should give it to me or not. So, I had different one (also a little too warm). I was not really pleased. read more

Went to London with my wife on a business trip. Stayed nearby and happened upon this place during a morning run. We were looking for a good neighborhood pub and found it. All fresh food, and they accommodated gluten free dishes for my wife who has celiac. great decor, supper friendly staff, and great beer. Brilliant experience for a British pub. We had pint of prawns for appetizer. My wife had the ham with eggs and chips, I had the cod cakes with crayfish and Spinach? Fresh and very tasty. Prices are reasonable. read more

I usually visit the pub if waiting for a train back to South Wales. Get off at Warwick Avenue, get a beer and stroll down to Paddington. Took 15 rugby fans there on the Monday morning after England Wales game in March. Landlady was just tidying up out the front, but rushed to open up and we had a very pleasant hour. Good beer all round and very good welcome. Been there a couple of times since and chilled reading the paper. Find it and enjoy it. read more
