My name is Carole and I live in La Quinta, Calif. Three years age we bought a Tag Heuer watch from The Watch Connection. We paid a lot of money for it and suddenly it stopped running. I took it to a local watch repair shop in town and they wanted 400 dollars to repair it. So I packaged it up and sent it to the Watch Connection where we bought it and I was told there was no charge because all it needed was a good winding.....We cant believe how dishonest some retailers can be!!!!! ...They are even sending it back to me and not charging me postage!!!!....I highly recommend The Watch Connection...threw the years we have bought several watches there and will shop no where else in the future!!!! I had gone to this store looking for a Tag Heuer Aquaracer watch. When I entered I was approached by a salesperson and I explained what I was looking for. I had done some research on the exact watch I was looking for and he told me that that particular model had been discontinued by Tag Heuer (The exact model is currently displayed at tagheuer.com). The salesperson then quickly guided me to another model watch, took it out of the case, and stated he would ring it up for me. I was thinking hold on a second buddy I am not purchasing a candy bar. After I told him I was going to think about it he quickly left without saying a word. This is not the way to treat a potential customer who could be spending thousands of dollars. I was on my way to work and thought I'd stop by this watch place I had kept seeing all the time. I just so happened to have my watch with the broken strap with me so I decided to go in. I go on to tell the guy who was working there that I needed my watch fixed because the screw in the strap was missing. He asks to see it and then takes back into his office. A minute later he comes out with the strap fixed looking all spiffy and brand new and then I ask him how much. He says "no charge". I'm like wahhhh forreal? A great place to both shop for and purchase a watch. I have been doing business with Chad, Rob & Robert for almost eight years. Over that that time I have purchased watches for my daughters, my wife and several for myself. It is always a pleasure to stop in and see what new styles are "in" for each of the watch lines. I've never felt pressured to buy or felt uncomfortable just browsing. My recent experience here was amazing. I needed to order two straps for an older Hublot and Manny was as helpful as can be. He placed the order for me--called me promptly when it arrived, and installed both sides for me very quickly when I went in to pick everything up. The other employees were also very polite and courteous and their watch selection is vast and impressive. I have to say that this is a huge change from the last time that I came here--which was several years ago when the store was owned by the previous owner. I found the prevous owner to be very rude, abrasive and confrontational--and I'm happy to see that the new ownership is the complete opposite. read more

It is not often I write a review. However, I am compelled to WARN OTHERS of this retail establishment. Watch collecting is a hobby, and a luxury hobby. It has a high price of entry. Quality product must be supported by quality customer service and a warm inviting shopping experience. No one wants to spend $25k on a watch and leave feeling disrespected or insulted. The Sales staff is great, Rob and Chad really try hard to please. They are super guys. The PROBLEM IS THE OWNER, named ROBERT. Robert is a tyranical, egotistical, narcisistic liar. He treats people as though they are beneath him. He treats his employess like dirt and is rude, insulting and scream at them in front of customers. Robert makes snide insulting comments to customers. I have personally witnessed him lying to pressure a sale. I have personally witnessed him tell a customer that he shouldnt waste his time if not buying a watch today. I have witnessed Robert not support a product previously sold. I have seen Robert at his best and worst. I feelbad for his employees that can do nothing but accept the abusive behavior. The guys that work at Watch Connection are great people who try hard, but the owner sticks his nose into everything and his obnoxious behavior ruins what may otherwise be a nice experience. Luxury Retail should be supported by luxury customer service. This concept is lost on Robert who is only interested in making his next dollar and the expense of his employees and customers. I was told by a very reputable source that recently a very high end luxury watch brand pulled their product from his store for the repeated customer complaints.They transferred the dealership to another local jeweler known for good service. The watch community is small and most collectors are aware of each other. Roberts reputation thoughout the USA and the world is one of an eccentric, obnoxious and irritating man who fails to understand that a long time customer is the best customer. Robert is only after the next sale, and he will step on you, his employees and his watch manufacturers to achieve it. On a 1-10 scale Watch Connection gets a 9 for quality of product offered. They get a 9 for having Chad and Rob (not Robert) on staff, they get a zero 0 for experience in the store, they get a 0 for customer service, they get a zero sales support. I will never ever shop there again as there are plenty of other retailers who want to build a relationship, who understand service and support and provide a safe and warm shopping experience. AVOID WATCH CONNECTION AT ALL COSTS. read more

I frequent this place for service. They charge $20 for a battery replacement which is very reasonable. They didn't charge me for a band switch on a watch I brought in- that was pretty cool. Service is super fast while you wait, even when they are busy. AWESOME selection of watches. read more

I can not believe the customer service they give to people. I came in to see what they have and they were pushing me to the Hublot Big Bang. I love the watches, but to much $$$ for me, but they would not even allow me to look at other time pieces. When I told him that I am just looking to see what they have, the owner just changed his attitude, and gave me the cold shoulder even when I saw the Bell & Ross that I was looking for. Wow, I am glad to know I am not alone in ripping into this store. I have to agree with all of the reviews about the snobbery and rudeness of this place. I also think that the owner is crazy and is actually trying to go out of business. Despite my reservations about this place, I actually bought a Ulysse Nardin Marine Chronometer here a few years ago. The salesman at that time was actually helpful and that was a decent experience. My watch was still under warranty when it broke down and I brought it in to service. When I went to pick it up, I had just driven about 2 hours in traffic and really had to urinate. I ran in and told the salesman I was here to pick up my watch and really had to use the bathroom. He told me to go down the block to the gas station! I could not believe it! This is how they treat a return customer?! Needless to say, I will never go back there again. Go to Swiss Watch Gallery in Laguna, or Feldmar's in LA. Even Tourneau is a better experience than here. read more

In the British sitcom "Absolutely Fabulous", one of the main female characters walks into a rather posh clothing shop and receives condescending service from a sales associate. The woman then tells the sales person: "You work in a shop. You can drop the attitude." The staff at The Watch Connection reminded me of this episode. As other Yelp users have noted, sales staff will likely not offer assistance unless you immediately give them the impression that you have a lot of money to spend. I was ignored for quite some time after entering, and I was the only customer in the store at the time. Eventually, I asked one of the sales associates if I could look at a few timepieces. Believe it or not, when I expressed some hesitation about one of the watches, he actually asked "Is it about the money?" There are a number of rather odd things about this kind of approach to sales. For one, I would not have entered the store if I did not have the intention of spending a good amount of money on a quality timepiece. In addition, why condescend to any customer of any kind for any reason? Your company loses a potential client. Third, how does one tell, whether in Orange County or Los Angeles (or New York or London or Tokyo, for that matter), if a customer has money? The actor Adam Sandler is wealthy and yet usually wears t-shirts (that don't fit him properly) and jeans. If he walked into Watch Connection and the sales staff didn't recognize him, there's a good chance they wouldn't give him good customer service. Fourth, there's a long-standing cardinal rule in the retail industry: a happy customer tells one person about his experience; an unhappy customer tells 1,000. So, all in all, the sales approach in this shop really is strange and off-putting. Now, I suspect that there could be quite a few responses by the staff. For example: we're sorry you had a bad experience; how might we make it up to you? Or: well, the only reason for the negative review is because this customer actually could not afford any of our watches and would not have bought a timepiece anyway. Or perhaps: I bet this customer is going to say that he went elsewhere to buy a watch, but unhappy customers always say that, and it's probably not true. Well, gentlemen, I hate to break it to you, but I simply left and drove a little way down Bristol Avenue and ended up at Tourneau, where I purchased an Omega watch for my girlfriend and a Baume and Mercier watch for myself (nice piece, with a simple black watch face, Arabic numerals, curved crystal, and a stainless steel band). So I close the way I began the review: it's just a watch shop, fellas. Please try to keep that in mind every single time someone crosses the threshold of your shop's front door. read more

My wife and I drove up from North San Diego County to get a replacement watchband for her Hublot. The sales staff was very attentive and helpful. As I was wandering around the showroom looking at the impressive wide variety of brands, I was greeted by another very friendly salesperson by the name of Robert. He had extensive product knowledge and easily found the style and brand that was most interesting to me. As I was just passing time while my wife's watch was being repaired, I had no intention of a purchase. I was just inquiring to pass the time. Robert, it turns out is the owner. He is extremely personable, knowledgable, helpful, and ultimately sold me a beautiful Zenith Elite. I'm not one for impulse purchases, but I left the store feeling extremely comfortable and happy with the purchase. Upon further inspection at home, I realized that the owner's booklet was missing. I sent an email to Robert, he forwarded to another associate and I had the missing booklet within 36 hours delivered to my home. The owner, Robert, further followed up with me to make sure I was happy and satisfied. Overall, an excellent experience. read more

I have been a customer of the Watch Connection for over 10 years. I have found the people there to be very professional, friendly and reputable. My most recent experience involved the service of an Omega watch I purchased 5 years ago. I took the watch in and asked if they could get it serviced for me. I was told that they are no longer are a dealer for Omega, but would be happy to send it back to the manfacture for service. About 30 days later I got a call from Mark indicating the watch would need to go back to the Europe factory because there was something wrong with the watch, and that the US repair shop could not solve the problem. When the watch got to Europe it was determined that there was a flaw in the watch that could not be repaired. The warrenty had expired, however, Marc told the factory that the repair should be covered by the Omega warrenty. After some back and forth - he was able to get the factory to replace the watch under the warrenty. The thing that impressed me the most was that the Watch Connection is no longer a dealer for Omega, and that they stood by the product and assisted me in getting a very satisfying response from Omega. I would not think of buying another watch from any other company than the Watch Connection. Thank you Marc for your assistance and professionalism. read more

Im not to sure what all you gus are talking about! i have bought no less then 10 watch from watch connection and each time it was a very enjoyable experience. The staff is very knowledgable and always has led me in the right direction. 8 out of the 10 watches i have bought from them have gone up significantly in value due to their knowledge. On top of that everytime ive ever bought a watch from them i have saved a minimun of 15 to 20 percent from any other watch store in orange county. I always go over to south coast and look at their 3 or 4 watch stores first before i buy and watch connection prices if you ask are much much lower. Any other store is a rip off to me. I honeslty dont think that they discriminate at all. Just act like you know what you are talking about and be serious about buying a watch and you are fine. Of course they might be a little rude when certain people are just browsing the store for too long, they have some watches that cost more then a quater of a million dollars. If i owned the store i wouldn't want a bunch of little kids and gang banger looking people just cruising my store either. read more
