Top marks for beautiful setting overlooking the canal. I've been on a couple of occasions in a short period of time, ending up perched on the wall outside the main beer garden on one - OK for a quick drink taking in the sunset. Returning on a Monday night - and not even during the official heatwave - we were lucky to get the last table in the overspill garden area. Problem is that outdoor seating equals smoking these days which is a bit annoying but you can't please all. I've hardly ever been served by this many different members of staff on just one visit - unfortunately none too familiar with the menu ... and it still took absolute ages for our food to arrive. Luckily we decided to share a mezze platter to start with - served with far too little dipping bread and without the bruschetta listed on menu, the wait for more bread took forever, but nothing compared to the wait for our main courses ... The burgers looked fantastic and came with skinny fries - we were asked three times if we wanted ketchup or mayo with these with tiny cups of condiments arriving long before the food like some cruel tease ... despite taking specific orders of rare/medium/well done for all burgers, salmon and tuna dishes all arrived well done - oh well, this is just a pub after all. The salmon Nicoise was a bit weird on its bed of purple potatoes and handful of green beans, all covered in the type of chopped tomato mix that would have been more at home on the bruschetta that never was - tasty enough though. When the sun set the rats came out of hiding - we spotted three, and no-one bat an eyelid. True al fresco dining in natural surroundings!

An adorable spot with a great deal of outdoor seating. The brunch menu goes til 1pm on Saturday and Sunday but after 12pm you can order off the ala carte menu and both the portobello mushroom burger and the tuna tartar are quite tasty!

    Wine and carbs; Yummy!

This is good date night place or a place to hang out at the bar with a few friends. The ambience is cozy and inviting, my only complaint is the service was slow and the food was a little bland, a bit more salt would help. Overall I will go again because it really is a nice restaurant, I plan on trying a different dish next time.

We specifically came to try fish and chips, so we were lucky that The Mall Tavern was nearby. Each of us ordered fish and chips, and all of our plates were left nearly empty. My goodness, I have never had better fish and chips than here at The Mall Tavern. The fish was crispy, and the chips were perfectly salted to taste. I appreciate that chips in England are more like potato wedges than classic American french fries. Way less fried and way less salty, so you can enjoy the actual taste of the potatoes! I also ordered a side of Mac and cheese that we all shared. I don't know what kind of cheese(s) was used, but it was the perfect starter to our meal. For dessert, we had the sticky toffee pudding for the first time. It was hard not to order another one!! We came in for late lunch, so the restaurant was empty. I assume they are much busier at lunch and dinner time. I also enjoyed the selection of beer while we waited for our food to come out. Next time I'm in London, I'm returning here immediately.

This restaurant was absolutely amazing from start to finish. I ordered the beef roast, and we also shared a side of the creamy cauliflower, which was to die for. I truly cannot sing the praises of this restaurant enough. The service was personable and welcoming, making it easy and comfortable to ask questions and try new things. One of the managers (apologies I don't know her name) checked in on us several times and even encouraged a few of us to try additional menu items. The food came out quickly, and once it arrived, the table went completely silent because we were all too busy enjoying every bite. I highly, highly recommend this spot to anyone visiting London and even the locals. A solid 10/10 experience!

One eventually came to our table after sitting awhile. I of course had to try the fish n chips. A couple of veggie burgers were ordered and a regular burger. Surprisingly happy hour was still on at 8 o'clock so drinks were ordered. The food all came at the same time and everything was cool. The fish had a nice flavor from the fried batter. To me it was similar to Long John Silvers as far as the batter is concerned, but slightly better quality overall. The fries were standard. The only thing horrible was the very bland mashed green peas. They should be omitted from every pub across the country, but I think it is a traditional item included with the fish. The cocktails were good as well as the price. The sticky toffee pudding was something else I was advised to try while in London. I must admit it was really delicious. It came with a scoop of ginger ice cream and a warm buttery toffee sauce to pour over. It was delightfully warm and sweet and paired well with the ice cream. The cake itself was moist enough on its own with notes of brown sugar and molasses. I could have had seconds and thirds of this desert. Yum! The majority of my party didn't think the food was fantastic. The burgers happened to be somewhat alright. This was a first for me having pub food and I would have more again as long as I stick to the basics.
