FABULOUS!! My Wave Silent Disco experience was 5 stars. When facing the Venice pier, the wave table was set up to the right of the pier but you definitely will find it because you'll see a group of eclectic Angelenos and visitors dancing on the beach and in the water. Attending the wave helped me discover a community of like minded people and helped me open my heart up to how are bodies are meant to be free and to move! I'm also so grateful to remember what a beautiful place we live in. We dance on the beach in December! It was wonderful to listen to such uplifting and positive energy music while watching the sunset! I got to let myself be truly free - dancing and playing in the water as much as I wanted. The headsets were comfy and the sound traveled well no matter how far into the water I went. The Music was great, I wonder if they have a Spotify play list. I loved the music especially in the last hour - it was especially moving and uplifting Overall, I can't wait to experience this again! For me, my breakthrough experience was when we tapped on our heart and dance to a beat that was similar to a heartbeat. I felt so alive as a person dancing with my feet in the water. Being in the ocean and dancing is something I haven't done since I was a kid and it's now something I'll always come back to. I'll definitely visit The Wave Silent Disco again, such an awesome experience. Also, I love how some of the proceeds go to the Alma Foundation that supports ending loneliness for our elderly population in nursing homes! read more

Such a great experience - it is worth the effort. Super friendly and kind staff from the ALMA movement that put up this great silent wave disco event. I loved the music they put on the channel 1 and super soothing words by the MCs. Made me remember the power of community and to just let go! Ofcourse dance like no one is watching, as these silent disco cuts out the noise and all you hear is the beautiful music in your ears! We went out and tried TheWave silent disco yesterday, on the beach, In Venice. It's been quite an experience. It is a mix of dancing, community and self appreciation. We were given headphones at the check in, set on music, very nice. We were then asked to form a circle, to connect with earth and each other, to introduce us and say hello with a dance move. The dj was good. The instructor was nice. Her voice was calming. We danced with our feet in the ocean, free. Once you pass the embarrassment of people outside the event starring at you and thinking you are crazy, it is quite fun thing to be part of. I'd let people be more free and have more channells for music. And I'd definitely join again at a sunset event on a summer day. read more

It's SUCH a blast dancing on the beach!! Beautiful combination of nature and technology to create a space for self expression. What I love about the silent disco is that we don't need loud music blasting at the beach, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it's great to be mindful of other beach goers that may not want loud music. So much fun & absolute bliss dancing on the beach with everyone! All with a bluetooth headset that's tuned to a live DJ. This is a great way to connect with yourself and community, enjoy the beach, all while sweating your prayers and embodying whatever intentions you'd like to set. I definitely didn't expect to have that much fun at a silent disco. I have been to couple of events with headphones but this one was by far my favorite. I've been to ecstatic dances in Los Angeles before, but I tried this one for the first time yesterday. I especially loved that it is held outside, on the beach, in one of my favorite parts of the city. Everyone was very kind, friendly, and welcoming, which is a must when you will be dancing in a very popular tourist and local area. I think that their mission to end loneliness through these types of events is awesome, and I felt supported by this community in my movement. Since this is held outdoors at the beach, it is subject to some chillier temperature and wind. I would have enjoyed the event even more it it had been sunnier or warmer, but this goes for most outdoors things. The event was closed with a circle of togetherness and telling each other what we remembered/appreciated about our time together. I enjoyed being on the beach, as I always do, because it's a bit refreshing for me, myself. I like the smell of fresh ocean water and sand. On this excursion, I appreciated the friendly host and her positive energy she showed off to her attendees.. if someone seeking a 'yoga/meditation course with other beings, I recommend. There is meditative dancing involved, or just improvisational dancing. If you are wanting to be in the midst of aspired positivity and motivation with others, this is for you also .. so please come. It was a little hard to find it was right behind this giant hill of sand but once you saw everyone like standing and dancing you already knew what was going on. The energy was so awesome!! It's really a good group of people and what we all share in common is the ability to be able to be on the same wavelength while dancing by the ocean feeling free. I found out about this event from IG in the beginning of summer. I can say this is one of my favorite things to do on Monday night for the summer. I definitely had my share of being able to dance while witnessing the sunset around like minded people. I was able to dance freely on my own or in a group. The MC was always so graceful in leading us throughout the event and the DJ would play great tracks from start to finish. The Wave is truly a channel for expressing yourself . Not only do you immerse yourself in an Aural sound-bath, you truly feel the music. Having the headphones on might seem isolating as if you are just walking down the street with your ear buds, but doing it in a group setting takes you into an unconscious and unscripted group experience where every individual contributes to the whole. Seeing your fellow dancers' smiles and free form movement to their own rhythm somehow amplifies your own symphony of freedom and joy.
