I will never go back to the Wax Lounge! I truly thought I found my forever spot for wax services because it's close to work but I thought wrong! I had NEVER ONCE missed an appt but I accidentally missed one due to a personal, urgent matter. The Wax lounge charged a $50 "no show" fee, on top of which I had already paid $60+ for the missed appt, because you can't schedule an appt without paying for it in advance. So it's not enough that they got paid for doing nothing but when I checked in for a new appt the girl was really loud and rude announcing to everyone that I had an outstanding balance which was really embarrassing. For the new appt I had actually paid for 2 services, I asked to cancel one of them to put some of that $$ towards the $50 fee and off course, that was out of the question! So they don't even let u do what you want with your own money. Maybe the Wax Lounge feels this is smart business and an easy way to make $$ off a missed appt but now you lost a consistent customer that scheduled appts regularly, every month. Maybe take into consideration that once n a while life happens to us all and your customers may accidentally miss an appt. The good thing is there other places I can go to that do a better job and that actually want to keep my business consistently, long term. All this place wants is money, which is obvious the second you walk in the door, it's like a mini flee market with all these cheap products for sale. And on top of all that, the girl who did my final wax left patches of hair! Never going back! read more

First time Brazilian wax!! Booked my appt online- simple process. You do have to prepay for the service requesting but not a big deal. Get to my appt and am super nervous as I'm getting undressed and waiting for what's to happen next, but Brandi made the process super comfortable and, even through the pain, enjoyable. I am very self conscious but Brandi was just wonderful. We chatted throughout the whole process. I was surprised when she said we were done because it went by so fast. Well waxing pricing for legs and arms are very high compared to other places.for legs $125. Wow. And the late policy is just ridiculous. You have to consider traffic and life. What if there is an accident or something. Also, the facility doesn't provide towels and just little napkins to cover yourself. And they have the AC on full blast. My waxer was nice enough to give me a robe because I was freezing and she couldn't control the thermostat. Ridiculous. The waxer did amazing job. This is the facility issues. Do not waste your money on their bleaching services!! I was originally told 2-3 sessions max which was over $1,500. I got NO results! I reached out to speak to a manager about my concerns and after being told several times a manger would contact me to discuss they never did. Instead I got a lengthy email with inaccurate information stating that they ALWAYS recommended 4-6 sessions which is false and are unwilling to do anything for me. $1,500 plus so much pain for absolutely nothing !! I came here for the first time yesterday 11/21/13. I called to ask if there's any available stat and they said they would take me in now.. I was coming from Rancho Cucamonga so I told them I'll be there in 30 mins. Parking is at the side of the street. I do wish they have their own parking but that's ok. When I got in, I filled the paperwork which wasn't that long. She asked for my debit card as well. When I asked her if she can take credit, she said no it has to be debit. Good thing I brought my debit card! I read the whole paperwork before initialing it (very important) and read that you need to call 48 hour prior canceling or you would get charged (probably why you need your card added to their system). I have no problem with that. I guess it's just fair. Anyway on to the service. She offered me wine which was nice for me as I was getting nervous. No it wasn't my first time but it's been too long. Hahaha! I didn't wait that long, brittni did my brazillian. (Got the something ipanema. Forgot the exact name). She made me feel comfortable. Offered some disposable underwear (which I did use) Did breathing techniques which she was reminding me to do the whole time. The pain was bearable. And after that, she gave me some wipes with some oil that smells like chocolate on it to wipe the excess wax. I really love the smell! She also recommended me a scrub for the ingrown hair which I bought ($25). The overall experience was nice. Also I paid $40 for the Brazilian wax which is cheap compare to other places I've been (ziba, pretty kitty etc). And after I paid, she gave me a welcome gift -- a sexy lacy thong! Hahah!! Thank you it was really nice! Love it! I will be coming back for sure.. Now I found a place I would go to whenever I need a wax. :) Update.. Everyone seemed to like them so I thought I'd try it out. First off their prices caught me right away. I've seen other places for like $65 and more so I thought $40 wasn't too bad. First time I went I fell in love with the little house. So cute and pink. Very girly. And they all wear leopard. Super cute. The lobby sort of area is cool too cause there's lots of stuff to buy/look at. Everyone is so friendly and so nice! They Brazilian service is great! Never had any complaints. I always get Clara who is amazing! She's so nice and so professional and always remembers details about you. Like I went to Vegas and the next time I came back she asked me how Vegas was. I went here today for the first time for a Brazilian wax. I'm in the Riverside area and had been going to Claremont for waxing so finding this place is a god-send! I scheduled my appointment this morning and was able to show up during my lunch break. My technician was Clara and she's perfect! I've been waxing for a few years but still walked me through everything which is so comforting, especially since she's dealing with my "undercarriage." The Lounge is clean and cute. I've had brazillion waxes for several years and this is by far my worst experience. The girl had no clue what she was doing, put wax on parts that should NEVER have wax on them, causing excruciating pain when the wax was ripped off. She didn't do any clean up, leaving large chucks of wax still stuck to my skin that I had to rip off myself (she left some Vaseline and told me to cleanup myself). I also asked for one small strip of hair to be left, it was so off center it looked like a drunk did the wax. I not only had to pay for this wax, I then had to go somewhere else once the swelling went down to clean up the off centered strip. Unbelievably horrid job. Now I get a call offering a $20 credit for another visit because they finally figured out what a terrible job she was doing? They said they feel she should be responsible for what I paid for. Seriously?! I came in based on YOUR website and your company touting what a great job you do. It's on YOU to screen who you have working there, not me. read more

I have been to a few other waxing salons in San Diego and actually only went here because it was the closest to my new home (Riverside) and had the best reviews out of all of the others nearby. I did my research--I don't trust just anyone to do Brazilians. I requested a particular technician because her name was requested a lot. She was a very nice person and I agree with all the other reviews that she is friendly and quick. But she wasn't thorough! If I'm paying $55, which is more than most salons in San Diego, I expect every hair that is visibly sticking up from the skin to be out, even if it means tweezing them. Don't blame it on me and say that I didn't give it enough time to grow back, just remove it. There were so many that I had to tweeze myself after I got home that day that could have been tweezed. If I'm paying that price I don't expect to have to do that--disappointing. The other thing...she put wax not just on my labia but borderline on the outside of my vagina/folds of skin which is a huge NO. 1) Nobody has hair growing in that region so why would you put wax on it 2) I haven't had a wax at this salon before and am pretty sure I had a reaction to the wax on that sensitive skin area because it was swollen and very sore for more than a couple of days. Not the best thing if your wedding night/honeymoon is later that week. It pretty much made it super painful for me. Another reason to be downright mad at myself for going here. I guess I'll be driving all the way down to San Diego for my future waxes, where I know they are more thorough and skilled. read more

I usually go to The Pretty Kitty in Rancho for my brazilian waxing needs. This time, I decided to try a place that was closer to where I live. The experience is basically the same. They both use the same types of wax. It took Clara less than fifteen minutes for me to be done. It was quick. I prefer this place over the other because even though it was quick, Clara took her time and examined every single detail to make sure she got everything. It also helps that I got a free thong. In general, making an appointment was easier and the service itself was cheaper. The only quips I have about this place is the amount of paperwork you have to do and I wish I was offered complimentary wine. I'll come in earlier just for that. read more

I've been to The Wax Lounge about four or five times. My first time here was late last year even though I have been getting waxed for about three years. I got a brazilian, full leg and underarm. This was also my first time getting waxed with soft wax. Unfortunately I've learned that I do not prefer the soft wax and haven't had good Brazilians with the soft wax, so I don't plan on continuing that service at this location. However, Clara does amazing eyebrows and I do plan on continuing to get my brows done here. The ladies are all very nice, services are done quickly and the location is really cute. read more

This was my first time with The Wax Lounge as I only come down to Socal every few months to visit family but I would love to come back and get my wax done here again. Clara was VERY professional, extremely personable and friendly, and very efficient. My wax was done in under 20 mins for sure, probably would have been less if we werent chatting it up :) Clara is the best and she CARES! I informed her that I was pregnant and she gave me advice and information on what products to use that are safe for me. $40 for a brazilian is a great price considering last year it was $55!
