I have found my new go to waxing spot!! I had my first of what I know will be of many sessions. The shop is super cute & everyone is friendly and welcoming. Have you ever walked into an establishment and could feel like everyone there wanted to be there? Baby, this is it. I was uncertain to put 3 or 4 stars. If you want a near-perfect wax (I got a brazilian), the results are actually really impressive because they use a soft wax. It goes by FAST which is kinda nice but also kinda stressful. However, I was left with some bruising which has never happened to me before and she didn't tweeze at all to get what was missed. The reason why I marked down was because the room really grossed me out. The wax places I have been before are really relaxing and look like a room you might get a massage in with sheets on the bed, calming music, etc. Here, the floors were really gross and they used paper on the bed like a doctors office instead of sheets (I guess for fast turnover between clients maybe). But then the paper ripped whenever I moved and I had paper stuck all over me to the wax. The music was super loud which just stressed me out more and the windows were covered with paper towels rather than a curtain. The people were pretty nice and wanted to make sure it went well but it just felt SO rushed and when I am paying $60 for a service I don't love that it's rushed into 10 minutes. Furthermore, they just seem super all about the money. There was signs everywhere for tips, expecting people to tip 20% when they are already paying SO much to the person for the service. And they ask to tip the receptionist. They have 2 pages of rules about canceling and all the ways you can lose you money if you cancel the wrong way. I've never even had to pay ahead of time for a wax service (always in person) and it blows my mind they would take the whole cost of your appointment rather than just $10 or something. It just all made me rather uncomfortable. Overall, the results I am okay with I'm just not impressed with the rest of the experience considering the insane amount that waxing costs. read more

I had never been through a waxing session before and was quite unsure of if I made a good decision to book an appointment. After a lot of back and forth, I decided to book, and I was pleasantly surprised at the whole experience. My esthetician was quite knowledgeable and made my experience so pleasant, and answered all of my questions. I had a wonderful conversation with mu esthetician and the time passed so quickly. I am so pleased with my results that I am considering rebooking for my follow-up sessions. For a first-timer, the experience was mostly painless (minus certain areas, which are overly sensitive). Despite this, the pain does not last long. I wholly recommend the wax lounge for hair removal services! This place is great and the staff are so wonderful! 5 stars completely. UPDATE: I never received an e-mail in response to the three that I had sent. They are liars and post this response only so it doesn't steer other customers away. What they did was illegal and yet, I never got an e-mail, phone call, or anything showing that they cared in the least bit! Just a yelp review response, how funny! You can respond to my yelp review by saying you respond to my e-mails, when really, you don't respond to e-mails, OR have the decency to at least call and apologize. I know my phone number is under my account too, not just my credit card info! I sat with my personal banker for hours looking for an e-mail (spam folder and everything) from you guys before I disputed the charge! I had to go to my bank and dispute the charge in order to get my money back! Don't waste your time and money! I sent them an e-mail on three separate dates because my personal banker instructed me to. One was as recent as about one month ago. Even if they attempted to respond to my initial e-mail, my recent e-mails make it obvious I never received anything. I had to talk to a specialist from my bank and he even stated that it is illegal to charge a credit card without disclosing the date, time, and the amount they will be charging you. It simply would have been nice if they called me back and showed even the slightest of concern. read more

Cons: Pricing online is very misleading. It's DOUBLE when you call in to make an appointment. They will not honor what's listed on the website. There is no mention to the formula change or price increase online. Neutral: Found out they will not offer the professional treatment without a wax from them. Services in package can not be purchased al 'a cart. Only exception to this is the pink pucker maintenance cream. Pros: The appointment link through Yelp, does not work. Had I scheduled/paid to learn it was more out of pocket upon arrival I would've felt swindled. *Its a very rare case when a negative turns into a positive. I've been a loyal client for about 5 years. Even if I moved out of town for half the year or across the country I make an effort to come back to them. If I was visiting my hometown, I made sure I made an appointment. I usually visit my girl, Clara, but if she is not present,Brandi, is also an awesome esthetician and friendly! I always look forward to catch up with them. They use an organic wax which is really soothing for those with sensitive skin (like me ) and always keep you in the loop (I know the steps but it's comforting to know ahead!) of where they are waxing so you aren't surprised from the pull.The decor is chic, vintage and extremely clean. They do have a strict cancellation policy so if you are someone who has a difficult time with being punctual, here is your friendly warning. I find their cancellation policy understandable because these girls are BUSY, and handling appointments back to back and respect their guest time. I've always had a great experience with them of all my waxing needs and leave the lounge happy! read more

I'm sorry, the girls at The Wax Lounge seem nice, but I ended up not liking my eyebrows. :/ I should have told my waxer person right then & there that I did not like my eyebrows, so she could have fixed them, but I was both in a rush & don't like confrontation/didn't have the heart to say anything especially bc the girl who did it was sweet & seemed like she thought they were good... (they weren't sorry). Firstly, I showed her pictures of the eyebrows that I wanted mine to look like and she said she "will try her best, but can't guarantee." She waxed my brows and then filled them in with brow gel. They were horrible. They looked NOTHING like the photos I showed her. My brows had no shape, no arch, and no definition. THEY LOOKED LIKE CATERPILLARS. THERE WAS NOTHING CUTE ABOUT IT. NO IT'S NOT TRENDY. It didn't even look like they were waxed! A big waste of money bc I expected more quality since this place is REALLY expensive. I will say, in spite of that, I appreciate brandi doing a good job at waxing the rest of my face. Once I got home, I fixed (tweezed/lined/colored in) my brows on my own and it was a vast improvement. I will not be coming back. The Wax Lounge has nice girls, but the service is too expensive and below average. Choose another place. I get my brows threaded elsewhere now and I am very happy. I also posted a pic of my before/after brows. The pics to the left are brows that I wanted & showed to the waxer-girl beforehand. The top right one is my eyebrows before waxing (I let them grow out). The middle right one is the finished product after she waxed and filled in my eyebrows w/ brow gel. The bottom right pic is my brow after I fixed them myself at home. For a Brazilian, they were not my fave. They have a very strict cancellation policy, which is made clear from the beginning. I'm not usually late so no problem! They did apologize in an email for being 5 minutes late, but they were actually 15 minutes late due to something with a previous client. (I arrived 15 minutes early to do the paperwork), and the appointment didn't happen until 15 after my time. Things happen, so not necessarily a biggie.. But their rooms are not comfortable for a Brazilian. My knee was rubbing up against the wall because the rooms are rather narrow for that kind of service. I also wasn't a fan of the conversation which turned to what felt like judgement of how I'm taking care of my lady parts, in which I needed a wax because I just got home after a road trip, and a month-long moving process! No, there wasn't a lot of love going on down there- this was supposed to be the start of getting things in pretty clean order again! The opportunity was lost for a personal connection. It's clear that they have a cute shop, cute business, and I've read that brows are amazing, which I can foresee based off of their set-up. The Brazilian did only take 15 minutes, but it was physically and conversationally uncomfortable. They did send a follow-up email to apologize, but once you've been uncomfortable getting your lady parts waxed, one is not inclined to revisit. read more
