HORRIBLE PLACE DO NOT GO HERE!!! My friend had an appointment to get a wax today with a groupon. We showed up and tried to find her place it was a little difficult but we found it and tried to walk in and the door was locked, so we called her and she told us we were at the wrong place and she said the appointment might not be available cause she's at a doctor's appointment?!!!?!? I proceed to ask why she would schedule a wax appointment on a day she knew she had a doctor's appointment. So I ask if she is at the wax place now and she said yes I will walk out right now and see where you are, mind you she has a big window where she can see out towards us. But this lady walks out the door we tried opening... like are you joking. Red flag number one she straight up lied about the doctor's appointment. Then she tries to make us feel dumb by pointing at the number on the door saying this one. So we walk in and it's a nice place vibe of the room was good but she was not it. She starts talking about well since your friend is bigger it's gonna cost more than what the groupon said..... I SAID OH YOU'RE KIDDING RIGHT!!! she said no i'm being serious if your small it's less if your large or xl it's more. then she turns at me and she said she a little bigger then you... and mind you I'm not paying this lady for a service so she shouldn't even be looking at my body period. Let alone my friend who was about to get half naked for this lady and supposed to feel comfortable around her to wax her. She is a horrible person who shouldn't not be running a business, she is disrespectful, distasteful and flat out rude. Mahi is the best!! I've gone to her twice for a Brazilian and she did an amazing job both times. I went to European wax center in between those two sessions and in comparing the two I noticed that with Mahi's techniques there's less pain during the wax, less ingrowns, a cleaner wax and the hair grows much slower. She's also very sweet which makes getting a wax less intimidating. Unfortunately I don't live in the area but I will definitely be scheduling my waxes with Mahi anytime I'm in OC. I'm in a wedding this weekend and failed to schedule my eyebrows at the same time as my nails like I had planned to. I contacted the phone number to book an appointment, and was barely met with a response and with a message saying "Hi! Pauline, I think you used our Groupon before?". This left such a sour taste in my mouth because I am an esthetician myself, and I remember all of my clients whether they've come in once or multiple times. I have never been here before and it was my first time. I ended up cancelling my Groupon because it seemed too hard to book and ended up finding someone else who responded promptly. //CONTEXT// I had a go-to esthetician for my waxing needs but was hoping to find someone closer to the area. I found this place on Groupon and immediately purchased it. //COMMUNICATION// I am mostly disappointed with the communication. - Purchased Groupon, and texted the phone number. I did not receive a response (Thurs) - The next day I called, and she said I could text her to book an appointment and was met with the "Hi! Pauline, I think you used our Groupon before?". (Friday). So first I texted but it took a call for you to respond..interesting. - Texted her back saying I am not aware of buying one before, I went to XYZ studio beforehand, may I book for upcoming Tuesday? - Received a response saying "You're looking to book for Tuesday this date?" where I responded back - No response after that so I cancelled groupon Saturday, it is Sunday. No message back about anything. //OVERALL// Maybe I have super high standards, but my past brazilian esthetician always responded within the day. Her booking website doesn't allow for booking, and secondly I am an esthetician and always respond fast to customers.
