I went to the Greenwich location to get my eyebrows done and to get my very first lash lift. The staff was extremely friendly and made me totally comfortable. My brows look great! I'm not sure if it's just my lashes, but the lift partially worked on only one of my eyes and I followed the instructions of not getting my eyes wet or using products for 48hrs. I'll probably come back to get my brows done, but not sure about the lashes since it was expensive and I didn't really get the results I was hoping for. read more

I've been going to the waxing spot for 3 years now and there is seriously no place better. I never write Yelp reviews but this place is SPECTACULAR and prompted me to write one. Unlike The Waxing Spot, European Wax Center rips your hair, instead of pulling it out, which makes you have to go more frequently. Additionally, The Waxing Spot has a variety of different waxes (whereas European Wax Center uses 1 for everyone). The different waxes are for different lengths of hair, different types of hair (how strong it is), and whether or not you have sensitive skin. The Waxing Spot is the most painless wax you are going to get, and they do the best job getting all your hair out! I use Veri, Amanda, and Jules for my Brazilian waxes and all of them are EXCEPTIONAL. They are so professional and friendly and make the experience the best a Brazilian wax can be. They also calm all your fears. Even though it is on the pricier side, there are student discounts and they have a great rewards program. If you pay $40 for a wax at European Wax Center, its not worth it because you have to come back sooner, they don't get all the hair, and it's not good for your skin. I believe in paying more for an exceptional wax at The Waxing Spot because its a really sensitive area that you don't want to mess with, and you only want professionals who have been trained for YEARS. I leave feeling SO good after each visit I did regular eyebrow wax and also the lash lift and tint today. This mother-daughter pair is the real deal. I have been seeing Veri for over two years and have always been satisfied. Once you go Brazilian with Veri, you never go back to....well, hair! I can't believe I am writing a review on this, but I want all woman in the area who have had their horror stories with waxing to know that it is possible to be treated kindly while having hot wax applied and ripped from their nether-regions. Should you expect pain? Well, yes! Does it get easier after a few times? Yes! (Take two Advil liquid-Gels 20 minutes before your appointment. If you are extra sensitive, consider getting "No Scream Cream") Veri also consults with you on exfoliation and recommends products and methods that held you avoid ingrowns. Hmmm, what else? They are very, very, very clean....no double dipping! One last thing, Veri is great with Brazilian waxes, but her other speciality is eyebrows- she prefers keeping a natural look. I am not sure how this is possible, but I swear my brows keep longer when she does them....... I was recommended to Veri by a very close friend and I have recommended her to at least 5 others. She's fun, funny, professional and most importantly made me completely relaxed and comfortable. The process was pretty fast and the pain was not as bad as I thought it would be. I got amazing results and had a great experience. You save 5% when you pay with cash! I went back recently and had a new girl, she had years of experience but it wasn't the same.... I drove 40 mins to be waxed here because they are the only waxing salon I know of in Fairfield county that requires their employees to be licensed to practice. This is not a CT law so their employees get licensed in NY. They also never double dip in the wax (which is unhygienic). The atmosphere was clean, relaxing and inviting. I've gone to the waxing spot for about 1 year now since moving to Stamford and getting tired of driving back to New Haven for my Brazilian. I have seen Veri & Rosemary (when Veri was out on leave) and both of them are fantastic. The business is run very professional, rooms are clean, precautions are taken for high sanitation, and the ladies give the best Brazilians. Prices will be more expensive than other salons or waxing places you can go to but you get what you pay for. A little on the expensive side, but they're the experts. They use a wax that doesn't require strips, so it just hardens and they rip it right off. They never double dip, the rooms are spotless and completely private, and the wait area is nice and cozy. They also give a 5% discount if you pay cash and they're open later a few nights a week, which is very convenient. I rated this place four stars because I feel that it's slightly over-priced, and because I specifically requested an appointment with Veri but was met by a different employee upon my arrival. read more

This place is incredible. First of all, they use the fabulous blue wax, a la Bliss Spa. No strips, it comes off in one piece and it is absolutely the least-painful way to go IMHO. Veri is fantastic. When I found out she had started her own business, I decided to follow - even though it was a longer drive. Prices are more expensive than some local salons, but the rooms are clean, they accommodate my schedule when making an appointment and I know I will always receive top-notch service. A friend was up visiting from Jersey last summer and I already had an appointment scheduled. I called the afternoon before and they were able to add my friend for an appointment starting only 15 minutes later than mine. Have been looking and looking for someone who really knows how to do a Brazilian Bikini Wax. These ladies definitely do, maybe since they are from Brazil.....Mine was done by Veri. She was extremely professional and started with baby powder. She used hard wax for the whole treatment and was done within 25 min. It was perfect (no stray hairs) with very very minimal pain. I have to say that I was so impressed with this place that I wouldn't even get a wax anywhere else while I was traveling. There is no "ripping" with the strips and there is not a stray hair to be found. This was my one stop waxing spot when I lived in CT. Rosemery and Veri have been waxing estheticians for many years, and know how to do things in a way that is safe (no double dipping to avoid infections), as painless as possible, and avoids dreaded ingrown hairs (using hard wax only and recommending things to do to avoid getting new ingrown hairs). They're so committed to their trade that they even helped me deal with an ingrown hair problem that I've had from prior waxing places (which is usually unchecked/avoided by most estheticians), so I could avoid potential infections and general discomfort - no other esthetician has gone above and beyond to do that. I admit, they are a bit pricier than other places I've been to, but you're paying for Rosemery and Veri's expertise and knowledge. Especially since CT doesn't have as strict regulations for waxing places as some states next door do (i.e. NY), it's hard to find a top notch waxing place in the area that abides to high cleanliness standards and waxing know-how. Although there is no license requirements CT, Rosemery and Veri require their employees to get licensed in NY state as a way to ensure that everyone is educated about waxing technique and sanitary standards. That's how much they care about their trade. If you're looking for a waxing place in Fairfield County and want to make sure you're going somewhere where they know what they're doing and really care about their trade, this is the place to go. read more

This mother daughter duo are great at what they do! The salon is super clean and the staff is so nice. My daughter developed underarm hair early and was very embarrassed by it. Rosemary assisted her professionally and sweetly for her first waxing. After that wonderful experience I have become a regular. I get my bikini, legs and eye brows done. I have sensitive skin and I do not have the same reaction with the wax they use that I have had in the past at other facilities. In addition when I went back for a regularly scheduled appt rather then just wax it I was told to wait another week because the hair was not long enough and the waxing wouldn't be as good. I recently moved to Connecticut from down south. I've only used one spa in the past. Today was my first trip to West Port and The Waxing Spot. I had a tough time at first locating the place. I called and the receptionist was super friendly and looked up driving directions for me. She told me to call back if I had any problems and she would assist me further. Very nice. I found the Spot without any further issues. I've had this done for...well awhile. I found this wax to be considerably less painful that those in the past. I'm not sure why. Possibly because of the soy based products they use. It could also be due to the lower temperatures needed for the wax. Either way it wasn't as painful as others I've had. My technician was very professional, but explained she didn't speak good English. Not a problem for me, who wants to do lots of chatting at this moment. LOL...but could be an issue for a first time wax'r. I will also say that the wax was cleaner...leaving less strays behind that some I've had done in the past. I've also read that the product they use slows the regrowth of hair... They sell products there to help ease the pain and decrease the amount of ingrown hairs. I'm pleased with the services provided.
