Like the other 1 star reviews, PLEASE READ THEM!! We had a very disappointing experience with The Way driving school. Our instructor, Jordan, did not provide much actual detail instructions and instead had my teen drive him to a food location so he could get a drink in one of our PAID lessons. A friend of ours reported a similar experience where their lesson included a fast food stop. For a paid driving lesson, this felt unprofessional and a poor use of time. Communication and scheduling were also very frustrating. Responses were slow and most times booking lessons were unorganized. Example: The Instructor will either show up 1 hour early or even late and not finishing our actual hours. Another main concern was safety. Only one of the vehicles we saw had instructor-side brakes and pedals. The other cars (including their Tesla and other vehicles) did not appear to have these added safety features. We specifically requested a car with instructor controls for our teen, but that request was not honored. Overall, the experience did not meet expectations, especially considering the importance of proper instruction and SAFETY for new drivers. ***In response to the owner's comment below: I am not seeking a refund or any form of compensation, nor did I mention that in my original review. Repeated cancelled sessions, very slow response times and extremely poor customer service. We had 3 cancelled sessions in one week. The first was an emergency with the drivers kid - understood. Second, he lost his keys at Target and could not make it - are we serious? Third, there was a "scheduling conflict" - ridiculous. At least two Saturday appointments were cancelled the morning of. I have been working with another driving school for my daughter and was having a horrible time scheduling and communicating with that school. I called Luis and he gave me all of my options to complete my daughter's lesson and told me why things were happening. DO NOT USE THEM. COMPLETE SCAM AND ZERO PROFESSIONALISM. I booked a road test service with them, including a pickup 2 hours before the exam, and paid $250. On the day I scheduled my road test, I realized my learner's permit had expired, so I couldn't take the test. I informed them I would retake the written test and update them after. They agreed. After I passed the written test, I contacted them again to schedule the road test. Suddenly, without any explanation, they demanded an extra $45. On top of that, the time I scheduled didn't "work for them." So I rescheduled to a time that did work for their availability--this time they wanted $75 more. When I called to ask why, they made up complete nonsense: "insurance fees" (weren't you covering that already?), "July is busy" (my test was in August), "phone calls take time" (what does that have to do with anything?). Then they cut me off mid-conversation saying they had no time to talk. I asked my friend to message them pretending to be a new client--guess what? They quoted $215 for the exact same service I had already paid $250 for. When I confronted them, they LIED, saying I hadn't paid for the same service. I refused to pay them more, so they said I could take 2 hours of lessons instead. When I tried to book it, they tried to cut it down to 1 hour 45 minutes. I asked for the full 2 hours--suddenly it wasn't possible. Finally, they called me again, saying they don't have time for me and won't provide ANY service unless I pay $75 more. And now I DON'T GET ANY SERVICE and THEY TOOK MY MONEY. They are absolute thieves with no professionalism whatsoever. They keep changing their own rules to extort more money. This place is horrible! Do not waste your money...go elsewhere! They're unprofessional, lack customer service, and the instructor was useless. He yelled at my son during his first lesson, had him stop by a restaurant to get a drink, and didn't even bother explaining anything to him. Majority of the time, my son said he was quiet during the lessons and didn't teach him much. My son learned more from my husband than he did with his instructor. I could go on more, but won't. This driving school is an absolute scam. Do not give this person your money. Louis required full payment upfront via Zelle. After I paid, he scheduled my first driving lesson and then never showed up. No call, no text, nothing. After that, for over a month, he kept making excuses, avoided answering phone calls, and when he did respond, his attitude was rude and dismissive. When I finally asked for a refund since no service was provided, he flat-out said he would not return my money. He even told me that I "can't do anything" and that he is not going to provide any service. That says everything. After this happened, I learned he has done the same thing to other people. Take that seriously. Requiring full payment upfront, not showing up, refusing refunds, and cutting off communication is not just unprofessional -- it's fraudulent behavior. absolutely horrible and super scammy. luis literally pressured me to pay the whole amount in advance and then cancelled ON THE DAY OF THE TEST. They let me know 3 hours before even though I told them I was taking the test on that day and PAID for the services beforehand. They won't even issue a refund. The first lesson's instructor arrived an hour late and cut the session short to just 40 minutes instead of the promised duration. For the second and third lessons, no one showed up at all! The Way Driving School is an excellent choice for teaching your teen how to drive. The company has great customer service provided by Luis and his team. They made sure to teach my teenager the rules of the road and to prioritize her safety and the safety of others. After each lesson was completed, we were updated on the progress our teen had made and the areas where she still needed improvement. As a parent who wanted the most drive time for my driver i chose this program becasue they spread out the lessons over 6 mo the. I had my team drive every day everywhere all the time. With the spread out lessons that enabled the instructor to see where the student was at and where strengths, and if there were weaknesses, how to identify them. The best part about the school is they line everything up with the DMV and there is a very little required in terms of paperwork making your appointment. Driving school will allow you to cram all the lessons into one week which serves absolutely absolutely no good to the student. I hope that more parents shove their kid in the driver seat and make them drive anywhere and everywhere and use a program like this that back up that premise. the test was smooth and he passed with the perfect score. read more

I can't in good conscience recommend this school to anyone. My instructor arrived 45 minutes late to my first session and announced he'd be arriving 75 minutes late to a would be 2nd session. He did not check that I had a learner's permit on me, did not teach me, a new driver, vital knowledge about looking at my mirrors and checking my left and right, etc. My instructor was silent for the vast majority of the ride. After one singular 50 minute session, I was refused a refund for the remaining 11 hours I paid for. I suspect all the glowing 5 star reviews are fake. read more

Everything you read on here about a complete and utter disrespect for appointments is true. Our daughter's instructor, Jordan, was late for two of our scheduled drives and we were not notified until well after our appt time, all while our daughter waited at the door. They even changed our 2 hr appt to one hour without notifying us, even though her behind-the-wheel test was days later! Don't bother talking to the owner. All you will get is excuses. I wish I had listened to the Yelp reviews and not tried to get save money by using this school. I'm not even sure how some businesses survive with such poor service. They are also rude. It appears to be a two man be show. A guy called Luis and some other guy. They do no communicate. Leave a message with one and it won't reach the other. We tried for 6 months to book lessons for my son. Every single time they screwed up either by not turning up, or turning up on the wrong day! In that time all we managed were two 1hr lessons. Cut short because of other lessons! The last straw was when I arranged a lesson on my birthday, much to my wife's chagrin. It stopped us making plans but we wanted my son driving. They never showed up. I called and got the voicemail. You always get the voicemail. An hour later Luis called. Claimed I'd got the day wrong and flat out called me a liar. Like I'd make that up and spoil my own birthday? WTF? I was told to call and they would pro rata refund. But of course they don't answer the phone and won't return my calls. He has never driven before and the instructor didn't show him use of any controls for safety. Talked non stop, very distracting and unsafe for a new driver, then had him stop of on his errand! 1st lesson - We had Jordan, who immediately had my daughter take him to McDonalds so he could get food and then was on his phone most of the time she was driving. She was a first time driver and he didn't notice that she wasn't wearing a seatbelt for 20 minutes! Jordan did not complete or provide a checklist or provide instruction. I informed Luis of the dangerous lack of instruction or attention by his staff and requested to cancel the contract but I couldn't get my money back. Luis promised to make it up so we proceeded with scheduling the next lesson. 2nd lesson - no instructor showed up! I again complained to Luis who quickly rescheduled us for the following weekend. 2nd lesson (again) - We had Adel, who was fabulous! He gave great instruction, made my daughter confident and provided a checklist of things to do and be aware of. He was friendly and knowledgeable. He is the only reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 star. 3rd lesson - Despite telling Luis that we did not want Jordan again, he assigned us Jordan. I felt tricked and trapped! The 1st and 3rd lessons are so critical and it was a huge disappointment to have the same negligent person. Jordan told my daughter that we shouldn't have complained and that its his style "not to instruct" because he likes it to be more "real life". He again did not provide a checklist or adequate instruction. Bottom line: Luis is quick to respond and tries to help. Adel is amazing. If you use The Way, avoid Jordan. read more
