And luckily she chose Heritage Pointe. What a great place! The caregivers are so kind and knowledgeable and hard working. The management is committed to exceptional care. On move in, the staff arranged and rearranged, hung, moved, catered. They painted the apartment to the color of her choice. There is weekly sparkling housekeeping and one day laundry service. There are all levels of care from independent living to memory care. She needed help with showering and dressing. But in addition, someone would always pop by to check on her in the morning, make up her bed and set a small breakfast. And they checked on her all day. Always going the extra. There is plenty to do. There is a pool, a movie theatre, a workout room with personal trainers , an on-site physical therapist, a library, classes, lectures, guest speakers and performers, happy hour, a piano lounge, a hair salon, transportation to all of the local shops and conveniences and a coordinator to arrange a driver for doctor appointments. There are three meals in a lovely dining room. The staff and the residents are very friendly and make sure that a new arrival is introduced to and assimilated into the community and she made what became close friends In a medical emergency, Provident Mission Hospital which is a Level2 trauma center is only one mile away. In addition, Heritage Pointe offers accelerated care in their Sage Unit. We, her family, are so grateful for the loving, expert care she received in their beautiful surroundings

They set up the decorations and hosted a special dinner for her with several lady friends that live there. They even made margaritas for the group. I could go on for days about all the activities they do. To me what truly makes the place extraordinary is how kind and loving they are to my mom. They genuinely love her. She has a smile on her face and is in a cheerful mood that is wonderful to behold. I am so glad we have the facility for her to attend and be provided with new, and stimulating activities each day. The staff is very caring and friendly, not only to my wife, but also to me. There is comfort in knowing that the loved ones we care so much about are spending quality time with staff that sincerely cares about them - and us, the caregivers. The facility sponsors several free seminars throughout the year that are very informative with subjects focused on the caregivers and their needs. It also hosts a monthly Alzheimer's Association caregivers discussion group meeting for those wishing to share their experiences, and gain form those of others. I highly recommend The Mount of Olives Adult Day Program to anyone who is looking for a program for his or her loved one who could benefit from socialization, special attention, caring, and understanding they would get there. Also, if you have a loved one who depends on you, you should consider your own wellbeing, and make every effort to provide for yourself some free time from the responsibilities that are upon you, by considering the Mount of Olives Adult Day Program.

Sarah Underwood brought her warm smile, calming disposition, and expertise to me and my family during an uncertain time. Sarah explained the process, offered a "what we could expect," and answered a plethora of questions regarding caregiving. My family was not 100% sure of the direction we were going to take with my mom since moving to a different state was also an option. Sarah did not pressure us and gave us the time we needed to make the best decision for my mom.. and dad, who at 90 wanted to still take care of everything on his own. As it happened, my mom ended up being admitted to the hospital and then transferred to a rehab center. When Sarah found out where, she paid a visit to my mom in the facility, held her hand and had a good talk. She completely didn't have to, but did anyway. FYI.. I have a picture of their two beautiful smiles! And if that wasn't enough, I was having a tough time getting in touch with a representative at the facility (since I live out of state) Sarah came to the rescue. She got a hold of someone to reach out to me. Sarah Underwood is wonderful- inside and out and a beautiful representation of the company's standard of care. Families first, and it shows!

After being texted, "I'm creating the care plan now and we will keep you posted," I didn't hear from them for three days. Then, while I'm beginning my day of caregiving for my loved one the doorbell rings and, SURPRISE!, their caregiver arrived without any announcement or warning. I was completely shocked and when the caregiver (who was nice) called the office who talked me into letting her stay. Of course, instead of the respite I wanted, now I had to deal with an upset loved one and an unplanned arrival. This actually made this one of the worst days I've had in a long time because I had no idea anyone would show up. I should have sent her away but I was too flummoxed to think straight. Anyway, Chamberlin did make sure to charge my credit card for this unwanted, unrequested visit. I canceled the contract and highly recommend against dealing with this company. In fact, now I'm kind of afraid to even ask for help again knowing that the first time I turned out to be quite a hindrance rather than assistance. ADDENDUM: After this review was posted I was contacted by the owner of the company who wanted me to remove this review. He offered a refund if I would take it down. I felt that to be an ethics violation and refused. He did seem sincere in wanting to make things right although the damage was done. I've re-read my original review and still vouch to its accuracy and honesty. I just learned a refund was issued without preconditions. My experience was still horrid but it's possible it was a learning experience for the company. (I personally learned nothing that will help my situation.) Anyway, I'm changing the rating from to two stars instead of one in with the hope this will not happen to someone else.
