Initially moving into this building, I was warmly welcomed by Fedia, the building manager at the time. She was highly responsive and attentive to every resident. I developed a close relationship with her, so it was disheartening to see her leave, especially given how helpful she was with any concerns related to the apartment. Soon after her departure, a replacement started working, taking days to respond and rarely being seen in the leasing office during work hours. In the month I was supposed to leave, I wrote an email notifying them of my move-out date for an inspection. However, there was no one in the office for days to confirm the inspection date, and my email went unanswered. I was extremely stressed, and fortunately, the employee clocked in just as I had given up and was on my way to the airport. I was relieved to be done with communication with the property until I realized they owed me my deposit. It took the property four whole months to return it, which is highly unprofessional. I had to send them numerous emails just to get my money back. The employees seem indifferent to the residents, making the process of moving out exceptionally stressful. To add to that, my water and electricity bill for two months amounted to $400, and the small paint chips off my walls cost me $80. I really wouldn't recommend living here! read more

Ultimately, I would never recommend this place to anyone I liked. It's in a semi-convenient location, and allows for two pets (which I appreciate). The office staff are friendly and the building is new. Beyond that... I don't care for the place. Management refers to this as a "luxury apartment", which is actually kind of hysterical. The only luxury is a view of the Space Needle from the roof and a Keurig machine. God help you if something breaks and you have to use the Craigslist special the building provides you with. Last week our garage was broken in to and burglarized. Multiple times a month strangers come to our street-access door and shake/bang on it trying to get in. It's adorable. Also, prepare to be accosted regularly by homeless and drunk people while you walk your dogs or go for a leisurely stroll around the building. I've lived here for over 5 years and I love it. The location is excellent -- close enough to restaurants and coffee shops without being right in heart of Capitol Hill, so you're not disturbed by drunk people at 2am. You get a great view of the space needle and mountains if you're on the west facing side of the building. Maintenance requests aren't super fast, but they're usually handled within a week or two. I've loved living here and really have no major complaints. It's right on a busy street, so street noise would be my biggest complaint. I've never heard my neighbors in the 5 years I've lived here. I'd liver here forever if I wasn't leaving Seattle. I'd be over the moon if I found an apartment this good in the next city I move to! I really don't understand the extremely negative reviews, so I took a closer look. - One person's main complaints were to do with move-out charges, which I can't say anything about since I still live here. - Another complained about a garage break-in. In the past 5 years that has happened once. It sucks, but we do live in Capitol Hill and it's easy for a person on foot to simply follow a car into the gated garage before the gate closes. I don't see how this can be fixed other than by having a 24/7 security guard in the garage. Every apartment complex in Capitol Hill has the same problem. - Another complained about people knocking on their street-access door repeatedly. I don't live on the ground floor and would highly recommend you not to live on the ground floor in any major city with significant foot traffic. - Then there are 2 super negative complaints, but you can see from the email screenshot that they were a couple living in the same apartment. It seems like they had a bad experience. These reviews were also from 2015, and several property managers have come and gone since then, so the person they complained about probably isn't still around. read more

Life is beautiful at the top of The Hill. I moved here a little over 6 months ago, (from the time of this writing), and I haven't been happier since moving back to Seattle. I don't want to tell you what to do. Apartment reviews are super subjective. But you should probably move here. Or just like, make friends with someone who lives here. Seriously. What are you after? New appliances? Granite counter-tops? Nearly unlimited cabinet space? Front-loading washer & dryer? Maybe an unobstructed, 360-degree view of the whole city, with magnificent sunsets behind the Space Needle, the harbor, and the mountains? Or the quiet-closing drawers? Omg the drawers... I could list amenities for days, but if you're like me, nothing will compare to the gorgeous Seattle skyline as your backdrop every night when you go to sleep. This spot seriously has one of the best views in the whole city. The location is also incredible: A mere 3 blocks from Broadway and Capitol Hill light rail station, quite literally across the street from Safeway, and only a few blocks from Pike/Pine. Despite all that - and even being on a pretty major street - it is very quiet. Maybe it's because I came from downtown, but that's huge for me. Also if you enjoy walking aimlessly around the city like me, the neighborhood here is quite beautiful and green, deceivingly secluded, and makes for really refreshing walks. I know that a nice building and location does not a great apartment make, so that's where management comes in. They are all about their residents. I swear they go above and beyond to keep us happy. We're always informed of changes, upcoming events, even nearby city work that may affect our living experience or transportation. They also throw us parties on that amazing rooftop I mentioned before. Hang out by the fire, meet the neighbors, share good food. As a workaholic who works from home, that can be pretty invaluable to keeping my social skills at par. :P At the end of the day, I feel proud to call The Weatherford my home. I don't know what exactly was plaguing this building before I moved in, but suffice to say, they've cleared it up. It's tough to read such disparaging reviews of the place I've been calling home. Lived here for 3 years due to convenience to the link. Over the course of 3 years dish washer had to be fixed multiple times, and the whole stove had to be replaced at one point. In no way is the tech/appliances up to speed for a luxury apartment. Also do not expect to get any money back from your deposit after you move out. Any wear and tear from just living in the apartment will be charged to your expense. Any paint chips what not will be charged to you. All apartment maintenance should repaint the apartment prior to any party moving in but what they could easily fix they would charge you several hundreds. Also the vent from the kitchen barely works and they would charge you several hundred for deep cleaning. It is also difficult to keep the cabinets clean due to bad vent in the kitchen. We have already payed to have the apartment professionally cleaned at a cost of $300 but the apartment management charged us an additional $286 to have additional cleaning and "painting cabinets and trim." What ridiculous way to suck the former tenants dry. read more

In over 10 years of renting this was by far the WORST RENTAL EXPERIENCE I've ever had. We receive weekly e-mails labeled as "friendly reminders" with incredibly harassing tones that are often threatening everyone to follow the rules and phrasing things like "I will come down hard on this." They also send emails mentioning how they are watching the security cameras (looking for violations of rules, not for safety purposes). I've never really felt comfortable in my own home since this was first mentioned. I asked a few other tenants in the building if they felt like they were being harassed and they confirmed they did and that it was the worst place they had ever lived. One woman stating she was moving out because of it. We were one of the first tenants to move in the building and it has appeared over the last few weeks most of the building is moving out. The elevator is often in use and moving trucks seemed to be outside many days, so i can assume we are not the only ones who have felt this building is unlivable. Management is uncompromising at every chance and has been nothing but rude since the day we moved in. For example, when moving out our new apartment would not be ready until the first of the month and our lease ended on the 31st. We asked if we could extend our stay for 1 day and prorate the rent to pay for that day. They said if we were to stay one more day they would charge us the entire month's rent as well as the $250 month to month fee. When we explained this to our new landlord they told us this was illegal to do. At this point we were just too fed up to even bother trying to negotiate with them because they've never been flexible, ever. Recently they allowed someone who I can only assume is a drug dealer, to rent the bottom floor apartment. All day, everyday he paced up and down the block, clearly high on drugs, mumbling things to himself. Once he even waited for me and then followed me back to the building. I don't think I need to explain how uncomfortable I felt knowing this man, clearly high on drugs, mumbling nonsense behind me, and following me to MY home, had keys to MY building. To top it off the building was BROKEN INTO twice in the last few weeks, bikes were stolen both times and someones car was broken into. Rather than an apology letter, we received a cold email about not leaving valuables in our cars, implying it was our own fault someone broke in and stole people's personal belongings. Management spends most of their time harassing tenants and causing conflict when really they should be spending their time doing background checks on new tenants, not renting to drug addicts, and properly securing the building. They also have just charged us $438.00 for 14 small nail holes in the walls around the apartment. Any excuse to over charge they can find and they will. I've never been charged for a small nail hole in any of my previous rentals. I HIGHLY do not recommend anyone to live in this building or any of Pacific Crest Real Estate's buildings. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! So happy that I'm living somewhere else now. read more

Changing my review to 3 stars after moving out. Location - 4 blocks away from the Light Rail which can get you to the airport, downtown, the stadiums, or University of Washington. Also only 1 block away from 15th street (restaurants, grocery stores, laid back bars) and a 10-15 walk away from Pike/Pine nightlife area. Building - it's basically brand new. Arguably the best rooftop view in the city. The rooftop area has a good fire pit, bbq, and seating area. Safe (you need your FOB to get into the building and also to use the elevators). Some downsides are that it takes FOREVER to get maintenance requests done. I had a maintenance request pending literally the entire 10 months I lived at Weatherford. The window was broken. After waiting 3 months for the window maintenance guy to come, he arrived without the right parts lol. How is this possible, he knows what kind of windows are in the building and came unprepared. Then, I waited ANOTHER 3 months for the re-schedule, took a day off of work, and they no-showed me at the last minute. Very unprofessional...and all to fix a broken window. When I moved out it still wasn't fixed. Also the homeless problem in the area is really bad. It got worse the entire time I lived there. The area by the Safeway and park across the street is filled with hobos, psychos, and junkies that loiter/live in the area. They generally leave you alone, but it gets tense often when you walk by the area. This was the main reason I left the area. read more

A lot of people seem to really hate this place, but I've lived here for two years now and I love it. The emails are only harassing if you're doing what they ask you to not do - i.e. smoking on your balcony in a non-smoking building. Not to mention the front office girls have all been super nice and friendly. Our unit is definitely expensive, but we have an incredible view and it's a brand new building, so we know there was no one there before us. The washer and dryer are full size and brand new, the kitchens have soft-close drawers, and there's plenty of storage. The rooftop is also incredible, and it has a big table and a huge comfy couch around a firepit. We use it all the time. In Cap Hill you can definitely get yourself into a crappy building, and trust me - this is not one of those. However, I definitely wouldn't want to live in one of the lofts right off John. Those should definitely be rented at a huge discount. read more

As a fresh college grad excited about living on my own and paying my own rent, I was equally nervous about dealing with everything that a lease entails. I'd read apartment reviews about management nightmares and heard from friends about awful fights with their landlords. Needless to say I was more than a little skeptical about how friendly the building managers in Seattle were when I first met them for my tours (except for the awkward guy at the Chloe Apartments who told me that people who move to Seattle either start seeing a shrink or start popping pills. A+ for marketing). I lived at the Weatherford for 2 years and just moved to my new place. I am being totally serious when I say that telling my building manager (love you Chris :D) that I was moving to a bigger place in Queen Anne felt like I was breaking up with someone. The management team at the Weatherford is top notch and are incredibly responsive. Being as this was my first apartment, I am still not sure why people have so many nightmare stories about their landlords and their building managers because the managers I had during my 2 years were awesome. As for the living situation, the windows are large and mostly north or south facing with end units having west or east facing windows. I lived in an open 1 bedroom with a kitchen with WAY too much cabinet space (read: a good amount of cabinet space) and a very large bathroom. The in unit laundry is very large and can fit huge loads of clothes or a comforter and sheets. The water pressure was good and the walls were pretty sound proof. You can hear noise in the hall but that all goes away once you are in your apartment. Most importantly for me, the building is pet friendly (with a rather expensive $50 pet rent and a pet deposit) so my little baby fluff could live nicely in my home. The building has a dog waste bag dispensary and receptacle which was very convenient when I forgot to bring poop bags downstairs. The roof deck is gorgeous and has a wonderful view of the Sound. As for the neighborhood, the Weatherford is in the residential bit of Cap Hill which puts it close to the club and bar scene while being far enough to not have to deal with it when you're home. For Amazonians and people who travel downtown, the 8 bus stops directly outside of the building while the 10, 43, and 49 are all close by as well. Safeway is across the street and everything you could need from hair salons to trinket shops are all along 15th Ave. Finally, the move in and move our was very easy and the inspection didn't feel like the management team was trying to screw me out of my security deposit. I ended up getting most of my deposit back with some paint scuffs, a scratched front door, and general wear and tear. Basically, if I were to move back to Cap Hill for any reason, the Weatherford is a good place to stay. It is fairly expensive. At move in I was paying $1825 a month with $25 pet rent for a 564 sqft open 1 bed and when I left they were trying to get me to pay $1925 with $50 pet rent. I'm sure the person who moved in after me got shafted with even higher rent. But that is to be expected in Seattle. Otherwise, I highly recommend the Weatherford and any property managed by Pacific Crest (especially Zephyr Apartments on Belmont because Aurora is literally the greatest building manager in the world)! read more

I'd give this place zero stars if I could. You will constantly hear noise above and below you unless you're fortunate enough to live on the first floor. There you'll only hear buses and sirens as this is located next to one of the busiest streets in Cap Hill. I seriously doubt this building is built with any quality. I've since moved on to renting from a condo owner and the difference is night and day. You'll enjoy the homeless hanging around the building as spillover from the Safeway and small park nearby. Great for a frightening encounter while walking your dog in the evening. My unit was a one bed with exactly one, small closet in the whole unit. Yes, no coat closet, no linen closet, just a small bedroom closet that is challenging for a man to make use of. Good luck if you're a woman with more outfits. Parking is sized for a Mini Cooper or scooter. You'll be door dinging like crazy and trying to mombo out of your car doors every time you park. Great value for an additional $200/mo. Did I mention you'll pay ALL utilities? I'm only responsible for electric in my new place. What a win. All in all, I was paying over $2,200 per month PLUS UTILITIES to live in a subpar, cramped apartment on a MAJOR road (super loud). I'm saving over $800 month all in at my new place and am MUCH happier. Would never rent again. read more

I've been here a little over a month and generally have very favorable impressions of the place so far. The location is great - within walking distance of a lot of nightlife without being in too noisy of an area. Safeway right across the street is an added plus. The apartment itself is nice - recently constructed and seemingly well-built. The layout of my "open one bedroom" makes good use of the limited space, but obviously I can't speak for other units with different floorplans. I actually rented sight unseen moving from out of state, and it turned out really well. I've put in a few small maintenance requests already and they were all handled appropriately within a week or so. There haven't been any really big things wrong with the apartment for maintenance to handle (which is probably a good sign in itself), so I can't speak to how those larger issues are dealt with here. Generally though, management has been responsive, and I imagine any serious issues would be dealt with quickly. Will update this review if that impression changes. Overall, would definitely rent here again given my experiences over the past month. read more

My boyfriend and I moved to the Weatherford almost 3 months ago and could not be happier with our decision. While we were debating other (and cheaper) options, the money is well worth it for a great apartment, great location, and great building managers. My favorite part of the Weatherford is the location. As I go to school at UW and my boyfriend works downtown, we are four blocks from the Capitol Hill light rail station that goes to each location. It is also right across the street from the grocery store and blocks away from amazing restaurants and bars. If you are younger or just moved to Seattle and looking for good nightlife, you are only minutes from the best Seattle has to offer. It is also just far enough that it is relatively quiet (we live on the backside) and in a safer part of Capitol Hill. The apartment is amazing with modern amenities, granite countertops, huge W/D, and great layouts that maximize useable space. The rooftop offers the BEST view of Seattle with a BBQ, fire pit, and plenty of seating. The building itself is always kept clean and very secure with a fob necessary to get inside the building and to use the elevator. As for the building managers, Chris and Peter are awesome! They have been extremely helpful and are always happy to answer questions. They also have planned two apartment socials, which were amazing and took a lot of effort. You can tell they really care about your experience as a tenant. So far, we have had a wonderful experience and look forward to staying here! read more

I would recommend this place if you enjoy city living. It is super convenient to get to anywhere on the hill and if you work downtown or at Amazon. The apartments are nice and new and the kitchen has awesome granite counter tops (my favorite is the island in the kitchen). My bedroom is a little small but has a nice walk in closet. The bathroom is a perfect size and the water pressure and temperature is wonderful (I like my showers extra hot). The other amenities include a decent size storage closet as well as fairly new washer/dryer. My favorite part about the building though has to be the roof top deck- it has a BBQ, dining table, lounge chairs as well as a propane fire with a cozy couch set up and the view is AMAZING!!! I am up there at least twice a week, no matter the weather just to check out the scenery. There is also an on site management office, and there is someone on site seven days a week. Chris, who is always there is SUPER nice, extremely helpful and always willing to accommodate whatever you need!! There are a few draw backs which is why I didnt give the full five stars. I live on the side facing John street and the noise can be a bit unbearable at times, but that is city living. I also feel like the maintenance can take a back seat sometimes and for the money being spent to live here I feel shouldnt be the case. Overall though it has been a pleasurable experience living here! read more

I've had a great experience living at The Weatherford. The interior of the apartment is gorgeous and modern - granite countertops, huge windows, hardwood floors in the common areas and carpet in the bedroom. I probably spent more time on the roof than my actual apartment during the summertime because it has comfy chairs, a fire pit, and the BEST views of Seattle - it also served as a great spot to have friends over and hang out. Echoing all the other reviews - the location is amazing. I hardly use my car anymore because of how convenient it is to walk to the grocery store, restaurants, bars, and the Link. I also do have to give a shout out to the building management, which is easily the best I have ever interacted with. Chris - the Property Manager - is amazing. He's super friendly and has responded to all my emails and maintenance requests within an hour. He's also hosted a few events for us, including a breakfast, taco night, movie nights, etc, which were really great when I was trying to meet other people in the building after first moving in. read more

Despite being advertised as a "luxury apartment," The Weatherford is barely a functioning building. Everything in our unit is falling apart; we live in the ground unit and water seeps through the door into our unit causing mould to grow in between the walls. Despite us informing them of this within the first month we lived here, it took them at least 3 months to "fix" the boards they had to rip out. They never even managed to fix the water leakage issue and mould is now growing again. They stretch their maintenance workers between 3 buildings so if you have any issues with the hardware, good luck trying to get someone in to fix it in a timely manner. After missing multiple maintenance appointments with us, they insisted on showing up unannounced during the ONLY time we specified would not be acceptable as I was coming home from the hospital to rest after extensive surgery. And lets not forget about the garage, which boasts an abundance of severely compact lots that can be yours for the paltry amount of $200/month. They'll even throw in a bunch of dings and scratches for your car doors to start collecting! There is also a huge security issue as our building/garage has been broken into multiple times, despite what they claim about their high-tech security system. The Weatherford's management company also believes it's within their rights to fine residents based off of speculation rather than actual proof. In fact, they're so desperate for any money they can get their grubby hands on that they're willing to change their story/charges multiple times-- then ignore you when you contest the ridiculous hypocrisy of the situation, which is a double whammy for them since they'll then charge you additional late fees on top of your initial one. We got a $50 fine after they "found ash on the couches" (which, after investigation turned out to be bird poop that was never cleaned up), which they determined to be us after "consulting the cameras." We were smoking e-cigarettes, and at first the leasing manager didn't believe us because "the tip of an e-cig glows blue and not red," but after we showed her a very realistic model and had a mutual confirmation that it was an e-cig they just decided to never remove the fine. When we contacted them again at the end of the month, they said e-cigarettes were banned by the building and as such the fine stands as it was a violation of our lease. Um no. It was never stated on any smoking reminder emails or our lease that e-cigarettes are banned. Once I reminded them of that and quoted our lease agreement, they changed their story and "decided" that we were smoking real cigarettes. Really? Because the footage they showed us was really dark and barely decipherable. The leasing manager gave us her supervisors number if "we have an issue with it" but no one picked up or checked the messages and any further attempts we made were ignored. So basically we got fined for smoking because she found bird poop on the roof. This "luxury apartment" will send you an abundance of daily emails about how residents are using too much propane and other list of chores we are obligated to fulfil within the common areas, especially in relation to the roof. If the grill hasn't been cleaned and you happen to be on the roof facing the camera, you can bet you're getting an email to clean it because the building likes to spy on their residents and accuse them of being filth-mongers rather than hire a custodial staff like their supposed counterparts. As another reviewer has mentioned, management's motto is: "if you don't like it, you can leave...and pay 2 months extra to break your lease on top stroke-inducing frustrations due to our many, many shortcomings." Bye. This place isn't fit to house corpses, much less advertise as a luxury building. read more

Been living here since September 2015, and moved here from the Lyric which is close by. I love this place much better, and it's actually cheaper. I have a corner unit with floor to ceiling windows looking into 14th and a courtyard - beautiful environment, quiet neighborhood. The staff are very helpful. I recently moved to Seattle and couldn't be happier with my choice to live at The Weatherford. Yes, you pay a premium to live (and park) in Capitol Hill (~$2000/mo for 1 bedroom + $200/mo parking), but the location is unbeatable and, after seeing 10+ apartments on a recent home finding trip, this was tremendous value. Apartment floor-plan and amenities: The layout of the apartment was unlike the other cookie-cutter apartments I had seen; corner units like mine have huge windows across both exterior walls, which was very important to me given the drearier days we can get here in Seattle. The in-apartment amenities are great; mine has a big open-concept kitchen with lots of counter space (granite, if you care about that sort of thing), plenty of storage with quiet-closing drawers, updated, quality appliances (including dishwasher and GARBAGE DISPOSAL YESSSSS) and new, stacking front-loading washer and dryer. The only drawback is the lack of large-item storage. As another reviewer pointed out, it has only one small closet in the bedroom so you have to get creative with your larger items. I stored my suitcase under my bed, for example. There is also just one (or maybe two?) storage unit in the building (with a waitlist), so if you're a hoarder, you won't have space for all those old newspapers and hubcaps. Location: Unbeatable. I commute to work every day by car, and I wanted a place where, on the weekend, I could park my car and just walk everywhere. With 15th street and Broadway just a block or two away in each direction, I couldn't be happier. I love to go to one of the many nearby cafes, walk to the farmer's market for some fresh produce or one of a local watering holes for a local brew or cocktail in the evening. Safeway is also across the street when you need that carton of milk in a pinch. Excellent and walkable neighborhood. Management: Before I signed my lease I came across the negative reviews on this very Yelp page and was concerned both about the security of the building and management of tenants. I basically ambushed the poor property manager who was showing me around the apartment with the reviews and asked her to answer each of my concerns directly from the reviews - from the garage break-in, to the prohibition of leaving things in hallways, to management treating tenants "like prisoners" - all of it. To her credit, she answered each of my concerns professionally, and more than satisfactorily. She was honest about the tenants' complaints, management's responses at the time, ways that the building has improved and ways they could have responded better. Since the time of those complaints, there had also been a change in local building management. Check. I have had nothing but honest, positive interactions with each of the building managers since I arrived. Scheduling my move-in was a breeze. Whenever I'm getting a delivery of a larger item (e.g., a mattress) I just gave them a heads up and they're more than happy to coordinate getting it into my place while I'm at work (with my permission to enter, obviously). Even further: when I was having difficulty hanging my coat rack on the wall, they called in the building handy-man to check it out and, by the time I got home from work, the coat rack was hung properly on the wall! Amazing! They also plan occasional building parties on the roof to meet-and-greet your neighbors. Since we live in a rapidly growing city full of nerds (myself included), this focus on creating a friendly culture among neighbors was a BIG plus for me. Management has consistently showed me that they about their tenants. Thanks Zynday and Chris! Building amenities: If you're looking for one of those buildings with a sweet gym (do u even lift), oversized teak rooftop sunset lounge, huge party room with interchangeable kegs under the bar and a wood burning pizza oven, you're not getting that here (although I was a little bamboozled by the sunset lounge... I've always wanted a place to specifically watch sunsets from). What you ARE getting is a modestly-sized rooftop patio with a fantastic, unobstructed view of downtown, the Space Needle, the Olympics and the Cascades (being near the top of the hill they're just visible!). You might even be able to see Rainier on a good day (but I haven't checked yet). That's not to say the roof is ill-equipped for parties - there's lounge chairs with those fancy outdoor cushions, a fire pit (if I recall correctly) and a grill. So, in the summer, grab a steak, an IPA and a good book, go up to the roof and go nuts. Verdict: Live here. read more

When we started apartment hunting in early June, of course we looked to Yelp! to get a sense of others' experiences with properties around the city. We really liked the location of The Weatherford: on the hill, close to work, restaurants and coffee nearby, and away from bar areas. We set up an appointment for a tour and when the day arrived we met with the property manager, Susy, to look at two units. Both units were in impeccable shape, had beautiful , modern features, and had great light coming through huge windows. Up on the roof, the view of the Seattle skyline, the needle, and the Olympic mountains was striking and there is a grill and fire pit as you'd expect on a rooftop deck in Seattle. The rent in this building is not inexpensive, but is still less expensive than many of the newer projects going up in the city. Parking in the little secured garage is around $200-$225, which is not out of line with other properties (but paying for parking sucks, am I right?) Given the previous Yelp! reviews, which noted concerns about the management, crime, and noise, I had my concerns. It sounded like the property manager, Susy, was a fairly recent hire, and so I suspended my concern about the management. I drove by later that night (on a Saturday) to get a sense of evening/weekend noise and did not find it to be any louder or busier than you would expect in the city. Regarding crime, certainly there are a lot of folks who walk by the building and could gain access by following someone in, but that isn't an uncommon concern in an apartment complex. The garage and building are secured, so it's really up to residents to be mindful of not letting people enter the property whom they do not know. Our apartment is on the John Street side and as a light sleeper I was worried I would not be able to sleep well. With the windows closed, the sound is very minor. With windows open, it sounds like the city...and I've been sleeping just fine. I did just get a new Casper mattress (for another review, I guess), and it is quite comfortable so that's probably part of the ability to sleep well. The property is dog friendly, and most of the residents I've run into have been friendly as well. One improvement I would suggest is that the stairwell doors can be accessed from the lobby without a fob, which means that if someone does get into the front door, while they can't go up the elevator without a fob, they could just walk up the stairs to any floor. I'd feel more secure with this added layer of security, if only at the lobby level since I imagine the cost of installing these on each door would be rather high. I put in one work order to have the screen in a room reattached (I know how to put a screen in, it just didn't seem to want to cooperate). Maintenance, which I do not believe is on site full time, addressed the concern within 72 hours. Move in was a snap and the management office responded to all of my questions quickly and were very accommodating. I actually like getting the email reminders and posts on my door about what's going on. We get about one each week, the last one with safety reminders, and the one prior about exterior window washing. I don't experience the messages as anything but an effort to be communicative with the community so everyone knows what's going on. Some of the messages are even fun: there's a community BBQ next month hosted by the management team. The office will even frequently bring packages to your door, and there is dry cleaning pick up and drop of which is super convenient. I write fewer Yelp! reviews these days, but I think that the prior reviews of this property don't accurately reflect the quality of the property and the friendliness of the management team. I've lived at the Weatherford for a year now and have loved it. We have an awesome manager who continually works at making the complex a tight community. Periodically, she sets up "meet and greet" events that usually happen on the amazing rooftop that has a view of the space needle and downtown Seattle. I love her weekly friendly emails that update us on what's going on in the building, i.e. people moving out, elevators being used, or moving sales. I really feel that this is important and allows for better communication with management and tenants. The price of my unit is very reasonable given its location and that I have close access to everything on capitol hill. Safeway is right across the building. Broadway is 2 blocks away. The bus stop to downtown is less than a block. The building itself is well maintained and as you enter the building, you can tell it is well because the hallways smell very fragrantly. Every week, there's housekeeping that cleans the common areas. There are many more great things I could say about this building but I probably won't have room. I recently moved to Seattle and am so happy I was able to find the Weatherford. The location is great. Just outside of the hyper busy cap hill area but totally walkable to anything you'd need. The 15th ave shops and restaurants are really quaint and so easy to access, we are also right across the street from the grocery store. The building is very comfortable. Not a huge complex like some you see near pike and pine. The management is available and the building manager is really sweet and friendly, always eager to chat. The units are really spacious and well laid out. If you're lucky you can be on the first floor and get a patio!!! Parking is kinda expensive but street parking is free and pretty available. The roof top is small but by far and away has the best view out of all the buildings I saw. Uninhibited view of downtown and the needle with a view of Mt. Rainer when the clouds allow. Nice calm building, I'm very happy. read more

I couldn't help but update my prior review, as my further attempts to cover the costs of the damaged paint on my car was met first by 1) requesting 2 separate quotes; and 2) silence after sending them the second estimate. As a lawyer, I could sue them and easily win with the photographs and email evidence that I've kept. In addition, know you that you will not get your full deposit back. Despite hiring professional cleaning services and leaving the place spotless, they kept $300 and cited that it was due to necessary cleaning. Their actions are not only extremely disappointing, but they are unprofessional and unethical. read more
