Absolutely lovely. The people that helped me were exemplary. Even though I didn't find my dress, everyone was very sweet and accommodating.

I used TWS for all my bridal needs: wedding gown, bridesmaids dress and jr. bridesmaids dress, and have mixed feelings about the shop, more so the knowledge of the staff. I absolutely love my dress and quality of it and I don't know what I would have done without my seamstress, Ms. Chris. My complaint is the size of dress they purchased for me, based on my body type. I have a very pear shaped body and I went with a fit and flare type dress, knowing this about myself I know that on almost every dress I need alterations taken in on my upper half, which I have no problem with paying for. My concern was that they purchased the dress so large, my seamstress had to take it in about 5 inches through body on both sides of the bodice and reshape the back corset, she did wonders and took it in as much as she could with it distorting the look of the sweetheart shaped Neckline. When the staff took my measurements and told me the size I should be in "according to the sizing chart," I questioned their actions, making sure to point out how much difference between my top and bottoms were and that I had purchased a dress that flared out at the bottom already and was not tight, they told me I could get whatever size I wanted but would have to sign a paper that this was not their recommendation, so of course, putting my trust in their knowledge base, since that's what they do every day, fit dresses to different body shapes. I was very disappointed with the size they purchased me. My seamstress was also in shock at the size they got me, and kept asking "did you lose weight," which I reassured her I did not and my measurements were exactly the same. Chris, thank you for taking on the task of my dress and working tirelessly to get it fitting on my body shape. After about 4 visits with you I know it was no easy task. I also purchased my bridesmaids dresses from TWS, I liked the fact that they had "sister dresses" which they girls could pick their own Neckline and they had a similar style dress in a Junior bridesmaid style for a 6 and a 12 year old. Again, disappointed they did not have color swatches for me to have, since my dress color was "meadow" and nearly impossible to match. All, in all, their new home on Coolidge in Berkley is beautiful and it is convenient having the Shoppe and alterations in the same place, I hope this will help future brides in getting the correct size, since seamstress will be in the building and they can provide sizing knowledge to the sales team. read more

My maid of honor and another bridesmaid surprised me with a trip to the Wedding Shoppe to try on dresses, after several other unsuccessful trips to other stores and it was exactly what I needed! The whole experience, from trying on through wearing the dress (after two covid postponements) couldn't have been better. The staff were helpful and professional and made it such a fun experience. Came here as a second stop for wedding dress shopping for my cousin (im the MOH). We felt like the consultant was rushing the bride through options, and kept pulling dresses that were the exact opposite of what she wanted. Understand that it's good to show options because you might be surprised but when you've tried on a few and say no, don't keep pulling those. Consultant also disappeared for 25 minutes and left us standing there waiting...would not recommend as service was not good. read more

If you want to feel like the special bride that you are, go here. After visiting 4 different places in 2 days, none of them compared, and none of them made me feel special like The Wedding Shoppe did. This is an exciting time, and something I only plan to do once, and I'm soo glad I went here to make it special and fun! They might have a higher price average, but the dresses are quality and it shows! Other places I went were full of cheap feeling and looking mass produced dresses, but every single dress I tried on (and that was A LOT) here were stunning! It made my decision very difficult! As explained below... I absolutely loved everything about The Wedding Shoppe. From when you walk in, the store was amazing. Buzzing with good energy and fun. There's a coffee and hot cocoa bar, we were offered bottled water and champagne as we were taken back to our own large and private suite with comfy chairs for all 5 people I brought with me and a platform in front of a great mirror! I was given a welcome gift, before even seeing any dresses! My stylist was Jessica, and she was fantastic and patient and she listened!! She helped me in and out of the dresses, while being respectful of my privacy. Our wedding dress shopping was a last minute idea while my sister was in town (and I really wasn't expecting to find something that week), so we made our appointment last minute and I had an idea of what I was looking for, but not really...I had only been to David's Bridal prior to coming in (which frankly was a huge waste of time!). From the beginning Jessica really listened to what I wanted, while still entertaining the ideas of the family and friends I brought with me (which can be difficult, and she nailed it!). She was 100% focused on me/us, and so incredibly patient, especially at the end when I was as indecisive as one can be!! We ended up leaving that night without a dress and well after closing time, and still Jessica never hinted that she was annoyed or wanted to go home, and never stopped smiling...even though I was annoyed with myself!! We went to 2 other dress shops the next day (mainly because I have FOMO and needed to know for sure!)...neither compared in any aspect. Sooo, we ended up back at The Wedding Shoppe that night (day after our first appointment), where I bought my dress! I not only loved the dresses there the most, but wanted to support Jessica for the truly amazing customer service. I know that's her job, but I'm a server and I know it's not always easy, and we weren't particularly easy! Also, that wasn't the case at any of the other shops we went to...so thank you again and again for your patience with me and for helping me find my dream dress! My experience at the Wedding Shoppe is split into two parts. I loved the process of planning and choosing my dress. However, I would have like more clarity on the alterations side of the process. For choosing my dress, I had the absolute best experience. The shop itself was absolutely beautiful. Well kept, welcoming, clean, and a huge array of options. They also allowed me to bring guests, it felt like our own, better, version of Say Yes to the Dress. My consultant was incredible. Very friendly, approachable, and actually listened to what I was looking for in a dress. She helped me keep an open mind but also was great at picking up on my cues when I clearly was not feeling a style. The dress itself that I chose was absolutely stunning. It was so beautiful and exactly what I had imagined for myself. The alterations process was fairly smooth, just a little bit of a let down after such a truly positive experience when doing the shopping portion. It felt like my alteration specialist just did not carry the same spirit the consultants did, which was just an adjustment for me. My other comment was I would have liked more clarity in the alterations. For instance, I wanted a sweetheart neckline, but it felt like we went a little too deep in altering the neckline - I would have liked her to communicate better what it would look like after alterations. Obviously there is only so much they can do before actually making the cut, but that is how I felt about it. Overall, I would definitely recommend The Wedding Shoppe for choosing your dress, but either be prepared and knowledgeable about your alterations ahead of time, or go elsewhere for any alterations. I signed up for yelp just so I could rate TWS. I called TWS on the evening of Black Friday to see if they had any free appointments for the next day since my sister would still be in town from her Thanksgiving visit. They didn't have any open appointments, but they did open their shop 2 hours early just so I could come in and shop. I'm not sure how often they do this- but my point is, this is the service you will receive at TWS. Cody helped me choose my dress. She sat down with me and we briefly discussed what I was looking for, what I liked and what I didn't like. She was 100% respectful of my wishes and my budget. She was also really in tune with my reactions which helped her in choosing additional gowns she thought I might like. I never felt rushed or pressured. I walked away with my bridal gown. The Wedding Shoppe is absolutely amazing! I am so incredibly happy that I checked this place out during my wedding dress hunt. If you want to find the perfect dress, come to this place asap! The staff here is absolutely amazing. Every person that works here is genuinely happy to help you find your perfect dress. They don't push anything on you and they make sure they select the dresses for you to try on very carefully. I literally was not given a single dress to try on that I didn't love. Of course my final choice was much more than "love"... I couldn't live without it and never stopped thinking about it after I put it on. CODI! CODI! CODI! If you decide to come here, you MUST ask for her. I honestly don't think I have ever met a person as amazing as her. She is extremely passionate about what she does and has the heart of an angel. She was so accommodating and made this whole dress finding process so fun and easy! I didn't even know what kind of dress I was actually looking for. I never had a dream dress in my mind and the whole search caused me more stress than happiness. Codi completely changed this for me whereas the other stores just made me feel like another customer. This week I received a call from Codi informing me that my dress was ready and I got to try it on and pick it up today! I think my excitement to see Codi matched my excitement to get my dress. She is that amazing. Even if you don't have the pleasure of working with Codi... I don't think you could go wrong with any of the other employees. I left this place for the last time this afternoon, thankfully with the correct dress in hand, and ready for alterations elsewhere. I embarked upon the crusade for a wedding dress late last summer. I went to a few of the places around the Royal Oak area, but I drove by The Wedding Shoppe everyday on my way to work and there had been a dress that I loved in the window. I decided to make an appointment to come in and try on dresses. The initial appointment went extremely well; my salesperson was fairly helpful, even though it was mostly me and my mom going through the dresses and picking ones out without much guidance. Whatever... I kind of preferred that. Well, I ended up seeing this random dress hanging up, as it had just come in literally a few days before. I tried it on, had my moment, and said this is the dress I want, blah blah, Mom tears up, I spin around like a princess, and the decision is made. However, my sister was at work, and I wanted her and my Grandma to see it before I made the decision official. So we decide to come in on the following Tuesday, Gram and sis in tow. Our second appointment started out pretty well, like the first appointment. I tried on my dress, and everyone loved it, so I get 'er done, and get the thing ordered. When I looked at the tag, the dress was definitely in my price range. Well after adding up the beautiful sash, the hairpiece, the veil, etc. the total starts to add up. I had a slight meltdown and needed a breath outside. From that moment on, the experience turned into a money grubbing experience. They *threw in* the lace up back which the sample had, but my salesperson didn't care to tell me was $200 extra. What makes this place an abomination is not the strict and cold approach towards buying one of the most important articles of clothing in your entire life, but the customer service skills that the entire store seems to lack, including the snarky owner. In the search for bridesmaids dresses, we were going to try to look at TWS again (they really have a crappy selection, and even worse colors to choose from), and I was told that they were so busy helping OTHER brides, that they could try to squeeze me in 2.5 weeks later, but they weren't sure. I'm told that I'm welcome to come in and look at an iPad (none of their dresses are viewable online), and that is all that she can offer me. If I didn't like it, she didn't know what to tell me, but she's slammed with brides due to some bridal expo they attended, and they have to put their BRIDES first. As if I hadn't just spent $2.2K on my wedding dress not even a week ago. With a sour taste in my mouth, I decline, and we head to Gina's in Milford (SPECTACULAR PLACE!), and we end up purchasing wonderful bridesmaid's gowns from their friendly, helpful staff. Last week, I get an email from the shop that says, "It's time to get your alterations!" So I call, bracing for the worst, and just explain to the person who answered the phone the email I received. She tells me that's just an auto-email, and they send it to everyone. My dress isn't in, so just disregard it. Literally, a day later, I get a call... the dress is in!! So I call in to make an appointment to try on my dress, and pick it up. I'm told that I can only come in during weekdays, during certain times to pick up and and pay for the balance. I was working out of town during the time, and I managed to barter a "quick 15 minutes" to pick up the dress and pay for the balance. I was told that because I was coming in during a "very busy time" I wouldn't get the full 30 minutes. So my mom and I head in today to pick it up, and we're immediately met with our balance, and what we need to pay... without even seeing the dress. I tell them that we would like to see it before we pay the balance, and the girl huffily gets the manager who shows us the dress, then advises us of the balance again. My mom goes to take out her checkbook, and we're told that unless we pay with a credit card, they will hold the dress for an additional 10 days before we can take it home. My mom hands over a credit card, and I'm taken to the back to try it on. Again, they stress how busy they are, but I really only see one other group in the entire store. I wouldn't recommend this place for anything. Their customer service is TERRIBLE, their policies are ridiculous, and they ruined my wedding dress experience with their horrible attitudes. I will not be getting my alterations there, and I am so so glad that my bridesmaids didn't give them any additional business. I'm bummed because I love supporting local businesses, but I wouldn't support this one ever again. Also, fair to note - if you do decide to brave this place, be forewarned there is virtually no place to park. Do NOT park in the lot next to them for the bar - the bar has a little patrol car watching to ticket or tow. read more

Today I got my gown here! I have been to all different stores for wedding gown in Michigan. I even went to the Vera Wang in Chicago. But believe me, The Wedding Shoppe is definitely the best! Erika helped me. She's patient and gave me a lot of suggestions regarding the neckline, the waistline and designers's style. The first time I was there all by myself but I want my friends to see how the gowns look on me. But It's normal that you are not allowed to take pics before making the final decision. Erika asked me to facetime with my friends, which was soooo smart and I appreciated. I have to mention that Michele Davis, who took charge of my alteration, was absolutely a specialist in wedding gowns! The dress (it's called Esmeralda) I fell in love with was a size 12 and it's the only one they have. No way to order it, because the designer's retired. But I am a size 0. Just imagine how big the project is and how hard it is to keep the original design of the gown. However, after 4 fittings, Michele managed to alter the gown to my size and keep all the stones and laces right at the place where they should be. In fact I think her creative alteration even added points to the original design. With her help, "Esmeralda" was totally customized just as the dreaming gown I have been imagining since childhood. Besides, now when I put on the gown, it is so comfortable that it feels like a part of me. Michele is awesome! By the way, I live in Ann Arbor. I had to drive about 1 hour every time to Berkley to The Wedding Shoppe. Despite the long distance, I still think it worth all the effort. It was a really great experience with The Wedding Shoppe and I would love to recommend it to my friends for sure! read more

I got married on New Year's Eve (12-31-13) and after searching at several local places and trying on TONS of wedding gowns, the was IT! First, The Wedding Shoppe carries only gowns that fit within a certain (lower) price point. They're still gorgeous and very well constructed gowns, but they're all from designers who do not advertise, which is why they're cheaper than most of the shops in town. I actually tried on a dress at another place that cost TEN TIMES what my wedding gown cost at The Wedding Shoppe and it wasn't nearly as pretty! Second, I LOVE fashion. Love it...I worked at Nordstrom for a long time and I will save and save and save just for a designer handbag. That said, I always thought I'd be one of those brides who INSISTED on a designer label gown - Badgley Mischka, Valentino, etc., but the best part about The Wedding Shoppe is that their designers do not advertise so the gowns are more unique. My wedding dress looked NOTHING like anyone else's and everyone said it was made for me! I pretty much got a couture gown at a fraction of the cost. Lastly, the staff at The Wedding Shoppe is very sweet. Very down-to-earth and just nice people, unlike a lot of the other bridal stores in the area. Their seamstress is a genius! She made my dress fit like a glove and knew EXACTLY what to do to make it just right! THANK YOU for making me look and feel so gorgeous on my wedding day! P.S. They did a fantastic job and were very helpful. They also sell a lot of cute things at the store. If you are getting married or standing up in a wedding- it is worth a stop. After visiting about 50 other bridal salons without saying yes to a dress, my mom suggested we stop by the Wedding Shoppe. She had a great experience there a few years back purchasing some accessories for a friend and had heard they started selling dresses. I made an appointment for a week night and found the store to be adorable. I was assigned to a consultant, Ali, and she was immediately in tune to what I was looking for. They have a pretty small selection of dresses, but so many of them are gorgeous and I finally said yes to a dress! Everyone was so attentive and showered me with attention. They were so helpful and helped make my experience perfect. Several of the other consultants were there to help as well and offered great suggestions including helping me pick out the veil and accessories. I booked two appointments in one day for dress shopping. The first shop was pushy, judgements, and kind of uncomfortable. The second location was fine. Not pushy but didn't really help with the decision making which left me feeling uneasy about my choice in "the dress". I called the wedding Shoppe on a Hail Mary to see if I could get in before they closed. They fit me in without me feeling like an inconvenience. Kelly was INCREDIBLE. She actually picked up on cues that was giving that showed I wasn't IN LOVE with the dresses I was trying on. After less than an hour we found my dress that she had picked out personally. read more

I had the most incredible bridal consultant. Jaime (I think that's how she spells her name) was so wonderful to work with. She had a brief consultation with me in the beginning, then we went off to look for dresses. I thought I knew what I sort of wanted, and knew exactly what I didn't want. Once I found a dress I liked, she went and got me another option off the rack, which had everything I never wanted in a dress, however looked absolutely phenomenal on me. Which I'm almost sure is the dress for me. She knows how body styles fit in different dress styles. She was so helpful getting me in and out of the dresses, and being patient as I tried on a few dresses a couple times. As a family, we had a ball looking at the gowns and as the bride, I had a blast trying on the dresses. I truly had a great experience here. read more

I had a wonderful experience with The Wedding Shoppe. Katie helped me, and she was great! She was very friendly, gave great suggestions about what to try on, was able to manage all of the bridesmaids that I brought with me, and helped me balance out all of the opinions. She also took notes on which dresses I liked and didn't like, as well as little notes about the appointment. When I came back to pick up my dress (which arrived right on time!), she had clearly taken the time to refresh her memory, which I loved because allowed me to relive the appointment all over again! One important thing to know is that you are not allowed to take photos in the dresses until you've picked the one you want. But they will let you Skype/FaceTime if you have a loved one who can't be there, so we were still able to include my sister and she was able to weigh in on which dresses she liked. If you're looking for bargain prices, you won't find them here. But you will find a large selection of really beautiful, reasonably priced gowns and some truly great bridal consultants! read more

I like the Wedding Shoppe. I purchased my wedding dress here and had my alterations done here, as well. I am picky with wedding dresses, and I found quite a few dresses that interested me. I even had a tough time choosing among three dresses. BUT, maybe I'm not your typical bride either. I did not want a strapless white thing that everyone wears. I did not want a bedazzled, lace-up, weird tiered dress either. Instead I found an awesome dress that ended up inspiring an entire art deco theme to my wedding. Anyway, alterations were a little pricey and piled on. They ordered the dress slightly smaller than I needed, which made me panic, but it ultimately worked out (and trust me--i'm a stress eater and supposedly grew an inch in the waist over winter). That brings me to the tact of the wedding shoppe employees. Like another reviewer below, I was slightly put off by the hygiene reasoning for not providing bras to use when trying on dresses. I mean, I get it...it's much more hygienic to have you own, but can we talk about all the braless women trying on dresses? Isn't that the exact same thing? And then there is the constant discussion among the employees. They talk in hushed tone about conversations with their clients, but the clients can all hear their conversations through the dressing room drapes. And sometimes they're not the nicest! I mean, never overtly rude...more like, "I can't believe these brides order a dress in October for a MAY WEDDING!" Yeah, that was me! And I can hear you talk about how unbelievable you find it. ***By the way, my date really did get pushed out by two months because their dresses are shipped over from China. They kept saying it could be there on the next shipment, but it wasn't, so order them early.**** Or they discuss bride's issues with their bodies. Probably not a good idea to talk about THAT sensitive topic amongst yourself. I guess I found the staff a teensy gossipy, but overall, I really enjoyed working with the wedding shoppe and am happy with my service. I would definitely recommend it. read more

The Ladies there are fantastic!! They really listen and care about you and your special day. You will feel like a princess trying on these dresses, they are so well made. I have gotten both my dress and my bridesmaids dresses from here and the quality vs price is amazing. You will get one of a kind dresses here, no GroupUSA or David bridal dress that thousands of brides have, you will get the dress that no other bride has. The only down side is that you cannot take photos of the dresses until you have bought one, but other than that it's a great bridal shop! read more

I don't normally leave reviews but without a doubt this place deserves one! To start off, I came from California to go shopping for dresses in Michigan with my family. The entire experience stood out WAY above the other 4 shops I visited. It was so fun, the shop was so beautiful, the fittings were personal and private, and I really felt the quality of the dresses were above the other shops. But that isn't why I'm leaving a review. Let me tell you- mistakes happen, and unfortunately it happened to me, but here I am writing this because I think the support and effort this shop put into owning and fixing their mistake was almost hard to believe. I had my dress shipped to California and when it arrived, it was the wrong color. Thankfully I had prepared with plenty of time and they paid to ship it back and send me a new one only a few weeks later no problem. Unfortunately after going through a month of alterations on this new dress- I realized only two weeks before my wedding it was the wrong size! I ordered a size 8, and they sent me a 12--- it never did fit the way I envisioned. Although my heart sank and I was in tears, it only took one phone call with Haley and Danielle to quickly fix everything that happened. I didn't even have to ask or suggest-- they told me how they were going to fix it. Within a week, I received the correct dress which also came with a bride emergency kit, an adorable robe and a hand written apology, had all my alterations paid for, and a refund for the trouble. I really can't express how incredible it was that this team was able to take a terrible situation and make it an easy, not stressful, and quick turn around to fix it. They were always in contact and never seemed upset to deal with what had happened. It truly felt like they were there for me and genuinely didn't want me to worry about my dress on my wedding day, they went so above and beyond to take care of this and because of that my wedding dress and day truly was perfect. There are no words for my gratitude Danielle, Haley, and the rest of your team. I hope you see this and feel how warm my words are when I say you truly are THE BEST. read more

Really enjoyed looking for dresses at the Wedding Shoppe. They had a large dress selection but all the dresses were not my style. Felt very catered to and special while at this salon, was asked personal and stylist questions to help select gowns. However, I felt slightly pressured to say yes to the dress here. They have individual curtained areas for the brides with pedestals and chairs. Wish there was more natural lighting in the salon, but that's not something you can change. read more

This is the best shoppe in metro Detroit. No questions, no doubts. I went to a few other shops before finding the Wedding Shoppe, and just when I felt like I was going to have to go to New York or Chicago to find my dress, it found me :) Codi helped me out, she was incredible! She was very patient while I struggled to explain what I thought I was looking for, and helped make recommendations after seeing my first couple responses to different style dresses. She is very knowledgeable about what she has in her store, and asks all the right questions. She was also incredibly patient with me connecting with my mom and maid of honor who are out of state. She would help hold the camera to show the full view of the dress, and never rushed me even when I kept her late :P The shop has a really great variety with a decent price range too (from under $1000 on their off the floor rack to a whole rack of more than $2500). They have several stations so each bridal party gets a full 3-pane mirror (with step up box) and their own dressing room. Although I'm not a huge fan of the no-pictures policy, this shop is VERY worth it. I tried on, probably 10 dresses over the course of 2 appointments with Codi, until I found the one, which I went back and got TONIGHT!!! :D :D :D My wedding is in September, the dress will be here in August I can't wait!!! read more

I can't say enough great things about my experience at The Wedding Shoppe. While working in Royal Oak for a few years, I always remember driving past this shop when it was on Woodward, thinking this would be the place I would find my dress. Once I became engaged, I tried one place prior to finally making the decision to go here, and it was a pretty okay experience for me. What I got at The Wedding Shoppe was just a totally personalized experience that made me feel so comfortable and excited for something that can be pretty intimidating! I went in with only a few ideas, and Katie brought me everything I ever dreamt I could try on. She totally pushed me to be sure I tried on every style I had seen that I wasn't necessarily sold on, just so I was sure I was getting the most perfect dress for me. She grabbed something that wasn't yet on the floor as a hunch right when I FINALLY was able to tell her I was down to the final three, and because of her commitment to customer service, that ended up being the dress, and it was something I never would've tried on if she didn't lend her own expertise. I was able to have 5 of my bridesmaids there, and my mom so they gave us a beautiful open suite, where we took hours looking at everything. I didn't even realize they closed while I was happily looking at the dress I was able to say yes to. Everyone there was just outstanding, and I would recommend this shop to everyone! read more

I live in NYC and am originally from Michigan, so when I was visiting my parents last week, I decided to start checking out dresses with my mom since I rarely see her. Every aspect of our experience with the Wedding Shoppe--from start to finish--was lovely and professional. We met with Jaime, and she was really wonderful and knowledgeable. With her help and experience, I was able to find the dress I always dreamed of but never quite knew it. I told her I didn't want strapless or beading, and she didn't blink an eye! I went here today in search of a veil/headpiece. A lady that I work with told me about this place and said they had gobs of accessories. When we walked in the store looked very clean and upscale. It gave you those feelings of watching "say yes to the dress" but a little more modern. I made my way over to the jewelry and accessory desk and WOW! Being a girl it is just second nature to be attracted to shinny things, and at this store I felt like a mosquito going to the light! So many gorgeous jewelry pieces, they have anything you could ever want for your big day. One of the staff members assisted me in looking at the headpieces. She helped me put them on properly and helped me match them to my style of dress. She even had me try them on while she held up a similar dress to my body so I could get the feel of what it may look like on the day of. I had such a hard time choosing because they had so many beautiful things! I eventually chose a jewel headband with flowers and an attached birdcage veil. I can't wait to wear it. She wrapped it in some delicate tissue paper and put it in a nice cardboard box for me. She told me to blow dry it while I am wearing it the day of so that the netting would lay flat and not be scrunched up. NOW...if you are looking for a bargain...this is not the place to go in my opinion. the cheapest headpiece I saw was $65 and it was an average piece of tulle clipped to a hair pin. My "fancy" piece was about $160. You really are paying for the experience and the fact that I can guarantee they will have what you are looking for. I had a wonderful time finding my dress with my 4 friends, thanks to the professional and kind service at The Wedding Shoppe. I ended up finding the dress I wanted after the consultant suggested I lop the one-shoulder strap off, which was a perspective I wouldn't have had without her help, and it worked beautifully. My only hitch is that they have poor communication with their supplier in China, so you don't know when the dress will arrive (just an estimate). This made planning a bit tricky, since I was moving from Michigan but needed to wait for the dress to arrive. Luckily it arrived when they expected, but the uncertainty was a little tough. All in all I was very glad to have purchased my dress here, at a very reasonable price too. read more

This place as far as I am concerned really is as good as it gets. We made a same day appointment which we requested online, within minutes of them opening for the day they called us to confirm our appointment. The lady on the phone was super pleasant. When we arrived at the store, it seemed to be a little on the smaller size, but I felt like the selection was still nice. We were immediately helped and met our bridal consultant whose name escapes me for the moment. We were taken to a little mirrored station where our consultant asked us questions about the wedding, what I am looking for in a dress and such. Then asked our price range, at first I was a little shocked when she said the dresses average in the $1,300-$1,500 price range. Surely my family could not afford something in that price range, but we decided to look anyways, worse case scenario we would not be able to find my dress there. The consultant gave me a handful of shower rings to place over the hangers of the dresses I liked and led me to a rack of dresses. It was really hard for me to decide what I liked because I had some hard specifications to deal with. I have what I call a belly pooch so I wanted a dress that was going to hard that, did not show my love handles and lastly could have sleeves attached and not just lace ones to cover up my religious garments. After looking for about 20-25 minutes I had picked out 6 dresses and the consultant had pulled one for me. I was then led back to the changing area where we tried on each dress with her zipping me up and clipping the dress where it was to loose and would need to be altered. After about the 4th dress I was feeling kind of discouraged so she had me try on the dress she had pulled. By far the most flattering on me, but a lot of lace! I continued to try on the last two dresses when I tried on the last dress my eyes lit up because I knew I had put on my dress, she placed a belt around it to give it a little shine, and I fell in love with it even more. We had to buy a shoulder shaw to allow the dress to be modest but honestly it looks amazing with the dress. After all was paid we were just a bit over $1,000 dollars. Overall, this was a great experience for a girl who was rather dreading going dress shopping, but I am grateful to the wedding shoppe for making it so enjoyable! I used the wedding shoppe back in 2008, before they sold wedding dresses and before Yelp was really popular. Since I bought a dress off the rack, it was really convenient to have a place like the Wedding Shoppe, where I could have my alterations done, have my shoes dyed to match, and try on veils and accessories. One-stop shopping...that's what I'm talkin' about. My dress was one of those very fitted trumpet cut numbers, so the fit was crucial. Michele did a STELLAR job with the tailoring and the dress hugged my every curve perfectly. I could not have been more pleased. She also did a beautiful job bustling the gown, and even took the time to give my MOH a crash course on tying it all up Since my dress was a blush color, shoes were a real b*tch. I bought some white dyables and let TWS take care of the rest. They even took the dress outside in natural light to get just the right color. The veils were grossly overpriced. Supposedly they are handmade and therefore, can't be returned. I made the mistake of veil shopping without a wing-woman and was talked into one by the sales girl. I wasn't happy but I wore it anyway. Lesson learned: bring a friend or buy something you can take back. After all the deets were squared away, they steamed and stuffed my dress and offered to hang on to it until the big day. I'm pretty sure I paid extra for this, but it was such a convenience, I didn't care. The biggest thing this place has going for it is convenience. If you're a busy bride like I was, you don't have time to go to a million places and you're willing to pay a little extra to save yourself some grief. TWS knows this, and they take full advantage. read more

Went here for wedding dress shopping on a busy Saturday in May. I worked with Madeline and she was super sweet, asked a lot about me, my wedding day, my fiance and my style. She let my mom and future MIL pick out lots of dresses, but put them in their place when they went overboard which I loved. I felt my experience here could have been much better - they didn't offer us anything to drink, water or coffee which is a big reason I took off one star. I found their wedding selection to be a bit expansive but my mom pointed out that most of their dresses are not made in the USA, which is why I take off another star. I think I was expecting a step up! Lots of great options in budget, but no idea what alterations turn out to be. Competing salons, like Maria's Bridal Couture will include alterations in your dress price and offer a much higher end experience. I found my dress at Maria's after leaving my appointment here. it's a great place to try though for a no frills experience! read more

Hi there! I am SO thrilled that I went to The Weddng Shoppe to purchase my dress! I worked with Angela, and oh my god I'm so happy she was my stylist! She listened to everything I said I wanted, patiently let me try it it on, and watched as I chose a dress she had an inkling I'd love (completely outside of what I would have chosen for myself had I just been looking on the hanger) and I'm SO thankful she did! If I didn't have such an amazing stylist working with me I wouldn't have my dream dress. I felt truly beautiful in it and as someone who has severe body conscious moments, she made everything feel so comfortable! She was also very accommodating of the larger party I brought with me because I wanted to include my braidsmaids/future MIL. She also helped me gracefully decline dresses they chose that I was not a fan of! Thank thank thank you to Angela for all her help finding me this gorgeous dress! I also love the shop itself. My sister bought her dress here, we just tried on her bridesmaids dresses here (worked with Codi, also super awesome and helpful!), and now I've purchased my wedding dress from here. I just came back from my final fitting and picking up my bridesmaid dress for a upcoming wedding. Neat little shop with great customer service. The bride did not get her dress here ( she went to NYC) but brought all of us here. The bride made an appointment for the initial fitting of our dresses, a small but very nice selection to chose from. Kinda pricey but the bride helped us and the dress is very nice and wearable for other occasions, This is not a prom dress shop. Great selection of accessories. read more

I had such an AMAZING experience here! I live in Chicago and came in for the weekend to find my dress. I was with Cheri and was able to try on and narrow down the options that I thought I might like since I was kind of unsure of the direction I wanted to go when I came in. I ended up getting a dress that day and then panicked and realized I might have chose a dress too soon. I called the next morning (Sunday) holding back tears and feeling overwhelmed. I wish I had gotten the name of the girl I spoke with because she put me at ease and was so sweet and understanding about the situation. I changed my travel plans around and decided to come back Monday evening when my Mom got off work just to try the dress on again and make sure I made the right choice. When we got there, it was about 40 minutes before closing time but Melissa was happy to work with us and was super understanding and helpful. When we walked in back to grab the sample of the dress I chose Saturday, my Mom and I saw a totally different dress and immediately knew I had to put it on. Melissa helped guide us into making a decision and ended up staying quite a bit after close to make sure we got everything taken care of since I had already ordered the original dress over the weekend. Long story short- not only did I find my perfect dress, but I had an incredible experience from beginning to end. From the time I made my original appointment to signing a contract on a second dress, the staff was just wonderful.
