I recently purchased my dress at the store! I was able to have up to 8 loved ones come to the shop to experience dress shopping with me, This was one of the only stores allowing this right now during covid and it made all the difference! Having them all there was a day I will never forget. My consultant Haley was amazing! She listened to absolutely everything I said and even noticed my reaction with each dress I put on. Haley really paid attention to all the little details! She got to know me almost immediately. This was the first and only store I went to. I can't say enough great things about this place. I came here on three different occasions to find my dress. Jessica was beyond accommodating. The owner, Michelle is just as amazing and loves what she does. The dress selection is great! You get the chance to go through the racks to look for dresses. Without her help I do not know if I could have found my dream dress! The shop is gorgeous, and me and three guests had our own private suite making it so much more intimate. I have mixed feelings about this business. Everyone makes mistakes, but it is how you own up to your mistakes that makes for great customer service. When the Wedding Shoppe is good, they are good. A year and a half ago, I brought my wedding dress, and bridesmaids dresses to Michele at the wedding shoppe (and purchased veil tiara and some accessories) for alterations. Michele is really an amazing seamstress. She did a beautiful job. THEN, my sister got married this past June and had Michele alter her wedding dress. We went for several fittings, dedicated serious time, and paid a pretty penny for her services. Wedding day comes, dad picks up the dress, and we open it to put it on and discovered 1. wrinkles all over the front. 2. the hooks were never installed in the back of the dress (it was a heavy dress) and there was no way to affix it to my sister's bra and prevent it from falling down. We were literally 1 hour from the start of the wedding!! We called Michele, she offered to come out and try and fix the dress (which was very nice) but it was unfortunately not possible because of the timing of the wedding. Michele admitted that her assistant must have forgotten to add the hooks and she was really very sorry. Luckily my sister wasn't really super upset that her dress fell down all night, and the wedding was lovely and wonderful. Here is my problem- we did not pay for Michele's assistant to alter my sister's dress, we paid for Michele. So several days after the wedding (and for weeks after) I phoned to address this with Michele. Wouldn't you know, they were just too busy to talk to me when I managed to get them on the phone, and no one ever called me back? I gave up after a month or so of trying to get some of the money back. So six months later, I feel like all I can do is tell people my story. It's really a shame because this store has a lot going for it. The prices are definitely more expensive, so I think that is why this sort of service from them is completely unacceptable. You are SUPPOSED to get what you pay for... I'm not saying don't go there, but I think try on your dress before you take it home... read more

I was not supposed to get my dress at the wedding shoppe! My future in laws live in the detroit area, so last minute I went with my future mom in law & sister in law for fun. Just for fun! They fit a lot into this store! It looks a little overwhelming when you first enter, but is pretty organized & has a lot of privacy for your group. All of their dresses are under $2k and you will be shocked at what that gets you. You can see every dress they offer & you have the sales associate helping you pick things (best of both worlds). They always have a sample sale rack - the condition & prices are on point. I ended up finding several amazing options, but one that was my favorite. So now the tricky part - my mom wasn't there. I left the salon & made appointments in Chicago (where I live) for my mom & I to find a dress. We went to several dress shops in Chicago & the wedding shoppe by far had the best selection, quality & prices. They also went above & beyond for me: After realizing this was the dress, we hopped in the car & headed to detroit. We left spur of the moment without an appointment & without realizing they had that crazy dream cruise going on down woodward. Naturally the shop is closed because of the traffic. Magically someone answers the phone & was willing to open up for us to try on the dress! Holy customer service. I got the dress & a private celebration party with my family. --- I do wish they would show their dresses online or allow you to take pictures. Including their bridesmaid dresses. They had a pretty hard no pictures policy, although you were allowed to facetime. My first associate was really pressuring me to buy, which I did not love. Luckily she stopped as soon as I said I needed my mom to be part of the process. read more

I cannot say enough good things. I was so happy with my experience with The Wedding Shoppe. I also visited 2 other stores with high end designer dresses and the experience was nowhere near as fun and positive as this. You guys really have it down! Another thing I really loved was the private rooms for my girls. It was sooo distracting being in the other stores and having 1-2 other brides right next to you to distract and compare yourself to, so I LOVED that it was private! My stylist was Brittany and she was amazing! She made me feel at ease from the beginning of the appt. I was able to propose to my now bridesmaids quickly and jump right into the appt no problem. I loved how laid back Brittany was as I forgot to call ahead and warn her of that! Lol I had told her I had a bad experience with a stylist at a previous store and let me tell you she was the polar opposite of that stylist! She was fun, bubbly, and most importantly she listened to what I wanted and what I was asking for! She took me to the back and gave me guidance of dresses to pick but I didn't feel pushed in any way. I loved that I was able to pick dresses (not the case at the last store) and she also listened to what I wanted and pulled some dresses based of what I was saying. When I left my initial appt I had told her that I was actually going to another store later that day and she didn't make it awkward or make me feel bad for looking elsewhere at all, which was so refreshing! I ended up on the fence between a dress at the other store and a dress at The Wedding Shoppe. When I came back I was able to be fit in and although Brittany was with another bride she still came out and checked in and I showed her the contending dress (again, no judgment or trying to sway my opinion! Score! It just makes it so awkward when that happens) Rebecca was great as well! She helped out as Brittany was with the other bride. She gave great opinions and again didn't try to bias my opinion or push me. She was patient with me staring at myself in the same dress until I FINALLY made a decision LOL! Brittany came back and finished out the measurements for me and went over it all so I felt comfortable. As a result of the girls being so great, again no pressure from either of them, not only did I buy the dress, but I bought a veil, headpiece, and crinoline while I was there as well! I read more

I recently purchase my wedding gown here and have been incredibly disappointed with the service I have received. Although the dress is beautiful I regret buying from this store. The customer service has been terrible from the first appointment. I purchase extra fabric to match the dress to make a cover up and when the fabric arrived it was the wrong size and didn't match the dress! The staff are rude and inconsiderate. Not to mention, the manager is never present and has terrible follow-up with customers. I have been so insulted by their service that I have decided to take my dress somewhere else for alterations. First off, I troll Yelp! for reviews but very rarely write reviews, so The Wedding Shoppe must have been good for me to want to review it! TWS was my 3rd store on my two day dress shopping binge. I had found a dress at each store I had been to, but had 4 totally different experiences. The first shop (Arena Bridal in Shelby) was ok no complaints. Bella Rose in Shelby also just OK didn't have much in the style of dress I was looking for ( lacey fitted gowns) and my last shop (Bellissima in Rochester) was just horrible. TWS made me and my entourage of five people plus my niece and nephew feel welcome right off the bat. They took us to a secluded section just for us and let me pick a few dresses that caught my eye and my consultant Erika also picked some out based on what I told her I was looking for. I am not going to lie. I was a little worried even coming here because I had heard the prices were on the higher side, but I managed to find a TON of dresses in my price range and the style I wanted. Every single dress in there was beautiful and well made and Erika was AWESOME! She was very personable and friendly with everyone. Made me feel like she was just another part of my group helping to find a dress. Didn't push anything on me or make me feel bad for not liking a certain dress and I honestly feel that she was just as excited for me to find the one as I was ! I can't wait for the dress to come in so I can put it on again. I had a great experience with Madeline today (our consultant). I went to try on wedding gowns- she didn't pressure me at all and simply pulled what I liked and assisted with getting into the dresses! She offered great commentary, but she wasn't pushy at all. There was no pressure to make a purchase same day. Based on my apt. experience and the selection the shop offered, I made a follow up apt. for next week to most likely buy the dress of my dreams! This was the first and only bridal shop I tried, and I'd highly recommend it! I needed to purchase a dress almost ready-to-wear due to our wedding timeline, but I found my gown on my first visit (just about four dresses in). All of their gowns are gorgeous and custom made, so no two are alike. They also have a great selection of bridal belts, sashes, veils and headpieces. My mom and I debated about maybe shopping around some more, but we agreed that we'd just be trying to beat a dress we already loved. My sister in law recommended I come here so I was so eager to book an appointment. I came in and realized it was a big shop but the options were limited. I wanted a long sleeve dress and they didn't have much. They gave me a bunch of halter top and sweet heart dresses to try on, which were going to cost a fortune to add sleeves to. I kept trying to explain to the dress consultant what was and wasn't my style but it was useless. Needless to say, I didn't buy my dress from here. This is a cute little shop for bridal gowns. The shop can accommodate up to 4 people trying their wedding gowns at the same time. It is kinda tight..because when i was there..there were 3 other people trying their bridal gown. Selection is alright.. most of dresses cost more than my budget $1500..so I didn't try on many dresses..the person who was helping me claimed that all the bridal gowns are unique. Each gown can only be found/order in this store in Michigan.so if you are looking for Essene of Australia, Allure, Maggie Sottero, Mori Lee, etc..then this is not the place for you.. I was just reading some of the reviews on here and I had to put my 2 cents in...I am a business owner myself, and after meeting some of the awesome staff at the Wedding Shoppe, I have to say that there are obviously a few people on here who just didn't want to spend money for exceptional work!! People are always trying to slander businesses even though they, the customer, made a mistake. I read the owner's response and legally she has covered herself in every way. That's SMART, not "demonic"!! I have contracts for everyone that buys a car from my dealership. It's pretty standard. Don't blame a business because YOU didn't read the contract ( or understand it..although, it seems clear to me! ) I can't say how you were treated by the owner, because I wasn't there, however my daughter and I had an amazing experience and I wasn't shocked when I had to pay for my daughter's dress alts up front. My other daughters had to do the same at other bridal salons -again..it's pretty STANDARD!!!! I would HIGHLY recommend their seamstress Michelle to ANYONE and EVERYONE and the girls there made what could have been a stressful experience, a very pleasurable one! The wedding shoppe has incredible customer service. They fit my mom, sister-in-law, and mother-in-law in last January when I was just casually looking for a wedding dress. I had looked around the Royal Oak/Birmingham area and nothing. Just then, when I was starting to get worried, they found the perfect dress for me! It was so easy and comfortable in there! The staff is amazing and the woman who did the alterations was a therapist/friend/great seamstress all in one. She did such an amazing job making sure everything fit well and I was comfortable. I love this place! My first stop was at David's Bridal, which was clearly a mistake. Being my first time trying on dresses, I should've went here first. That aside, when I walked in (frustrated and sad from my experience at David's), I was warmly greeted by the consultant who would be helping me. She made me feel comfortable and asked what my budget was, saying she wouldn't put me in anything I couldn't afford. So we walked around the store together and pulled whatever caught my eye. She actually listened to what I wanted even though I thought I was unsure. We took about 10 dresses into my dressing room, and with the first one I tried on, I fell in love. I was a little skeptical about the fairy tale stories of loving the first dress you try on, but I quickly put my foot in my mouth after this experience. We were at the shoppe for about 15 minutes total, purchasing the first (and only) dress I tried on! And even though they were having some trouble with their computer system, I received a phone call right away after leaving, making sure I was happy with my experience, and they apologized for the computer issues. Oh, and you get a cute swag bag for purchasing a dress there! Bottle of wine and all! So cute, such a great experience!! read more

They have a very beautiful large selection of wedding dress. I was on a budget of less than 2000 and they were one of two places in the area that fit that budget. The experience was beyond imaginable! I got a semi-private suite to host my three aunt, cousin, mom, and two bride's maids (it cost me nothing). The first dress I try on was everything I've always pictured since I was 15 and saw something similar on Say Yes to the Dress. I tried on a bunch of other dress but nothing could compare to the first one - a blush fit and flare with 3D ivory lace flowers by Chic Nostalgia. Our associate stayed with us for 2hrs while I decided. She was great! Needless to say, I said yes to the dress, and a moonstone belt! Your wedding day should be the happiest day of your life. When planning for your wedding, a bride should be treated like a queen. This is a once in a life time celebration, and every bride hopes for the perfect dress, the perfect flowers, the perfect night. Shopping at The Wedding Shoppe really put a damper on things, to say the least!!! I had an awful experience shopping there. I was so excited when I found "the perfect dress!" I felt like a beautiful bride when I tried it on, and knew that it was "the one". At first, Michele (the owner) was so sweet and kind, making me feel special. HOWEVER, things took a dramatic turn once the dress actually arrived. I went in for my first fitting and my dress was HUGE! I think they ordered the wrong size. I was then told that I would have to pay over $400.00 for alterations! At this point, my relationship with Michele took a turn for the worse. I refused to pay $400.00 for my alterations. Many of my friends have gotten married, and none of them had to pay extra for their alterations, but that is NOT the case at The Wedding Shoppe. It was at this point that Michele told me that if I wasn't going to get my dress altered there, than I would have to pay a storage fee. Seriously, a storage fee!!! Who does that. As if the storage fee wasn't bad enough, Michele began treating me like I wasn't even a person. She laughed at me, raised her voice at me, made up her own rules and said, "she could, because SHE was the owner!" This is no way to treat your customers. So brides, my advice... skip The Wedding Shoppe! It will save you sleepless nights, tears, and feeling inferior. Your wedding day is your special day. You deserve better than Michele and her Wedding Shoppe. read more

While the experience I had here was generally positive, the selection is very small and hence there isn't a whole lot of variety. If your tastes align with the store's, then you've hit the jackpot...but there really wasn't anything here for me. They squeezed my appointment in to fit my schedule, so naturally I can't complain about the store being very busy and crowded when I went in. The saleswoman also seemed rather distracted with other things, but again they were working with my schedule so I can understand. Had an amazing experience here! We worked with Kelly who made me feel at ease immediately and paid close attention to what I waned. There were SO many to choose from and after a discussion about what I wanted, she picked out a few to get a better vibe of my style and she had my bridal party pick out a few. After doing our "first round" of dress try-ons where she could pin point my exact style..the FIRST dress she picked out after that was the one I said yes to!! She never for a moment made me feel rushed or like I had to provide an answer that day. And the second she overheard my MOH canceling our following appointment, she offered to pay our cancellation fee. At the end, you get a gift bag of goodies and get to sign a dress and take a sweet photo with your party. The whole experience was absolutely wonderful. read more
