I went looking for a Mother of the Groom Dress. I wasn't sure of what style I wanted. I knew I didn't want a long dress and I didn't want to look like a Grandmother of the Groom! This was the first store I shopped in so I was very unsure. I am petite so just regular shopping is a challenge. The sales staff was wonderful! Not only the person who was helping me but the many other of the sales people jumped right in to help and give honest comments on the dresses I tried on. I must have tried on 10 dresses in all shapes and styles. Finally I tried on a short dress that fit my shape perfectly. People shopping in the store even commented on how amazing the dress looked on me! A few days later I had second thoughts, since it was my first store I went to. I called and asked if I could hold off on ordering the dress because I was unsure. The owner of the store gave me no problems with the request. I ordered the same dress! The attention to each customer is amazing. The store is run like an old family business and they truly love what they do. Thank you! read more

zero star ! Experience was horrific. A company that was built on making women feel beautiful and female owned, I am appalled at how earming a buck still supersedes the integrity of how this business should be run. In an era where internet shopping and a dry cleaner can alter any wedding dress or gown, I was expecting top notch experience. That was absolutely NOT the case. During my experience I was accused of false representing myself for loosing a tremendous amount of weight, body shaming me by being told that my body is deceiving, and treated like I was the one that was being unreasonable. Through the years we have used The Wedding Store for my wedding, all proms for my daughters, and now my daughters wedding. This has been a horrific experience. Move on, intermet shopping, or go to NYC. This stop is not worth it. read more

We nicely requested that they maintain a distance which was followed by a maskless consultant who followed us into a dressing room, and insisted that we continued trying on dresses. I bought my wedding gown a year and a half ago. I lost some weight (size 14 to a size 6 after having my daughter) and asked to exchange it for a size that fitted. They immediately said no so I took it somewhere to get altered because THEY HAD NO ONE TO ALTER THE DRESSES AT THIS POINT IN TIME. I bought a beautiful $2400.00 gown which they demanded the final payment very rudely, and after paying I was on my own. I took it somewhere to get altered and as they looked where the hooks or buttons to bustle the dress after the ceremony were , they couldn't find ANY. this dress is a huge wedding gown. I paid 200$ to alter and 100$ to add buttons for the bustle. Long story short, they said the dress was "as is" and that the woman who sold me the dress must have "misled me" into thinking there were buttons and hooks to bustle the dress. Don't go here. They are stuck up and could care less about your wedding, once they get your money they will try to avoid you at all costs. read more

I am so appalled by my experience; there are just no words. I will start off with the fact that I needed a gown for my wedding dinner. I was not having a large event, so my dress was not going to be over the top. I don't know if this threw them off; the fact that I was not spending $6,000 on a gown, but thank god I didn't after what I went through. I browsed the selection and found a dress that met my needs. It needed several alterations since it was from the rack. I was fitted by the tailor and she made all of the necessary notations: pins, cups, length alternation, taking the dress out at the hips and in at the waist. I assumed it would be a very thorough alteration based off of the time I spent with her. When I left, the dress had pins all over the bottom where it would be shortened. I was told to come back in a week. The price for the alterations were more than the dress itself. I was given a call stating it was ready for pickup. I came in on a Friday to get my dress, and found no one in the store who had originally helped me. The tailor, and two saleswomen were not in that day. I walked all around the store and couldn't find anyone to help me. Finally, I wandered into a different room that was exclusively shoes, and found someone there who was helping a customer. I told her I needed to pick up my dress, and she retrieved it for me after a short wait. There was a completed sticker on it. She handed me the dress and wished me a good weekend. Fast forward to Saturday, the day of my wedding. I put the dress on ready to go to my reception. The bottom fell two feet past mine. All of the pins were still in, the dress was being held together with them. The cups had not been fixated in place, they were still pinned in. I literally had an hour before my wedding to figure out what I should do. I called them up immediately and somehow managed to catch them on their way out. I explained how livid I was over this situation. The woman apologized had said "sorry, there just isn't enough time. I don't even have words". I ended up just throwing on something from my closet to wear at my wedding. That didn't bother me; in the end, I was marrying the love of my life and I would have done it in a potato sack. But this situation was so utterly unacceptable and disgraceful. The worst part about all of this was the day I went in for my refund. I went in with my husband, and they had us wait a considerable about of time. Aw waited for at least 20 minutes, while they helped another bride pick out her dress. They didn't even look at me, or give any indication of how long my wait would be. Finally. The owners daughter came over and asked what she could do for me. She had the most stone cold expression and offered zero apologizes. I explained the whole situation over again and she said "so, will you take a store credit?" I absolutely wouldn't, so they did a chargeback on my card for the amount of the dress. No other offer to make things right. I was baffled. I would never use, recommend, or frequent this place ever again. Their whole way of handling this was cruel. read more

I would advise to stay away from here if you're looking for a dress. We went in today to look for a bridesmaids dress for myself and our group was completely neglected. They put us in a back room and left, checking on us one time throughout the 2 hour duration. Not to mention the room had no pedestal and when we asked if there was one available to carry one from one room to another we were ignored. Thankfully, I had my sisters with me to clip to dresses in order to fit, If not I would have been absolutely screwed. They were rude, barely even SPOKE to us, and made us feel as though we were a nuisance. I have never experienced anything like this. I liked a few dresses but since the workers were that rude I'll be ordering my dress elsewhere. I would hate for any bride/ bridesmaid to feel as though this is a normal experience because it was not. It should be special and exciting! I would be embarrassed if I was the owner. read more

Horrific experience for my daughter's wedding. My daughter selected a dress here with the help of their fitting and dress specialist one year ago. When the dress came in it didn't fit at all due to their measurements (my daughter was the exact same size as when measured) and needed massive alterations which they completely botched. When she was standing there in the ruined dress they began to tell her the dress wasn't for heavy girls, that her chest was too big to wear a dress like that, etc...they basically fat shamed her. Bottom line they have my $2800 I have no dress, had to go elsewhere and get a new dress and I've still never seen a dollar in refund nor the dress. Despite a promise to pay us they haven't. Avoid this place they will ruin your big day read more

I am only giving this business a two star rating because the saleswoman that my future mother in law worked with was wonderful. She was very accommodating, struck up a very lively conversation, and was very helpful with recommendations. My mother in law saw a dress at another store that we absolutely love. Now, the saleswoman Diane told us to call back when the owner, Judy, was coming in. This is because we found the dress at a different store in Sparta for forty dollars cheaper. My mother in law called her because this location is very close to her home and would rather do business closer to home. Judy basically called my mother in law a liar and that we wouldn't have been able to find the same dress anywhere else for cheaper. Judy and Diane both lost out on a sale over a measly forty dollars. Before we called Judy we said forty dollars is forty dollars and we would have still ordered it through the wedding shop. However, I will not do business with those who are rude. Had she been nicer about the situation instead of insinuating that my mother in law was trying to "cheat her" out of forty dollars we would have purchased. read more

I had an absolutely amazing experience at this store! This was the second place I went wedding dress shopping and, honestly, it should have been my first. The woman that helped me was amazing. I told her about 3 things I was looking for and she pulled the perfect dresses. They staff there really knows their stuff. The inside was very clean and nice. It was exactly the bridal experience I was looking and hoping for. My bridesmaids also bought their dresses here and received a discount. 15 or 20%, I forget. They have a lot of bridesmaid dresses to choose from and 2 dressing rooms. I made an appointment because I figured it would be a little crazy since bridesmaids don't HAVE to make an appointment. They also have a large mother of the bride selection. Definitely a place to look at if you live in the area. DO NOT GO HERE While the selection of dresses is tempting, the way the treat their customers will never make it worth giving them business. My sister had all of her bridesmaids come here for our dresses. We didn't ask for much assistance while there, we knew what we wanted and just continued to try on as the day passed. It was very obvious they were annoyed by us. The attendant constantly tried putting other customers into the dressing rooms we were using. Rude. Considering it's a bridal shop you'd think they attendants would be a bit nicer. THIS IS NOT EVEN THE WORST PART. TWO OUT OF 5 DRESSES WERE THE WRONG SIZE. one bridesmaid. who was extremely tiny and should have got a size 4...RECEIVED A SIZE 10. while the store tried to fix the problem and offer free alterations. After the third time the dress was brought back, they made her feel like it was HER fault for not having the right. Like she could lose enough weight of 4 dress sizes in a matter of 3 months? My dress should have been a ten but was an 8 instead. I would have liked my breast to not be squished in a dress at my sister's wedding but unfortunately i didn't realize this happened until the week of the wedding. When i tried on the dress from the store after it being delivered. I was again rushed out of the dressing room to make room for another client. It's obvious once they have your money they could care less how your experience is. read more

When I went to shop for wedding dresses, I had a very pleasant experience. Kate was a wonderful consultant and brought dresses that I really loved. I ended up getting a dress elsewhere, but she was great. My bridesmaids however had a very different experience. The workers were totally off with measurements and ordered sizes that were way too big for some bridesmaids and way too small for others. Thankfully my bridesmaids were able to switch between themselves. They tried to correct the situation by ordering an additional size but t wasn't worth the hassle or stress. I called the wedding store last minute and they were able to offer me an appointment on the same day! When I arrived I was greeted by one of the best greeters which was the cutest little Yorkie. My consultant was Kate and I can't say enough wonderful things about her. She pulled so many different style dresses for me and just was so easy going and helpful! Even though I am plus size and not happy with my body and working on getting my weight down, she made me feel great about each dress I was trying and and we even ended up with a few contenders. She genuinely likes what she does and is knowledgeable. I felt super comfortable and left happy. She made my first wedding gown shopping experience great! The associates were sitting there chit chatting. After multiple efforts to try to get assistance, we walked out. Completely rude and unprofessional. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Arrived today to try on bridesmaids dresses. There was only the maid of honor present and we were directed to the bridesmaid section where there were two young girls. They did not provide us much direction and didn't help us try on dresses at all. My poor mom was taking dresses off the hanger, giving them to my sister, and hanging them back up while the two employees watched. One of the girls stepped in towards the end to help pull styles but up until that point, we were on our own. We found some styles we like but we will not be purchasing from this store. read more

Ordered a dress in mid January for a May wedding. Was told I waited too long but they'd try. They showed me a 2 inch sample of the fabric. A week later I looked on the manufacturers website and saw the real color. I was told it was too late to cancel. Really? They said they couldn't even guarantee that I'd have it by May but after a week it was "in production" and couldn't be cancelled.They kept my deposit and delivered nothing. I purchased a gown at this store on Dec. 31, 2016 to wear at my son's June 3, 2017 wedding. The expertise and professionalism not only of the owner , but of the entire staff was immediately evident. I am a difficult fit but together we found a gown beautiful, flattering and elegant. I was happy with the alterations which were not complete until I and the seamstress and the owner were satisfied. Not only is there a large selection of gowns/dresses but there is an entire wall of shoes! This store is one and one half hours from my home , but it was well worth the trip. I had a wonderful experience at this store! Not only did I get my wedding dress here, but I ordered a rehearsal dinner dress, my mom got her dress here and we ordered bridesmaids dresses through them! I worked with Susan to select my gown and she was absolutely wonderful. She listened to what I wanted and found my perfect dress! The alterations process was seamless and they helped coordinate my bridesmaid dresses even though two of the girls lived across the country (all they had to do was call in their measurements!). I went in this store to try on mother of bride dress at 4:00 on a weekday and there was nobody available to help me at all so I suggest making an appointment. I also have to say I am very upset because I left a jacket there, I called them and they said they had it. I couldn't get there for a few weeks because I went on vacation and also it is an hour drive to get there. They actually threw my jacket away without letting me know. read more

I knew the Wedding Store was a gem having found the mother of the bride's dress there. Their selection is outstanding and they treated me as if I were their only client. They listened to what I wanted and were able to provide a great selection.The staff was knowledgeable and they truly made me feel very special. They were even able to complete the dress with wonderful jewelry and shoes. Now for the part that is still amazing to me..... I recently had an" accident" with a maid of honor's dress purchased at the Wedding Store. The wedding was 2 days away and I was beside myself. When I went to The Wedding Store upset and in a panic, my fears were immediately calmed. They provide a perfect solution and was able to correct my mistake in a very professional and non- noticeable manner. They were caring, professional and reassuring. "Remember, it's not your wedding!" Quote from our Sales Lady. Beautiful array of dresses, not what my daughter was seeking. When I liked the initial dress - all was ok. When I voiced opinion that the next one wasn't suitable for Church, saleswoman felt the need to tell me that it wasn't my wedding! Usually a comment like that would come from a sullen teen-ager. I bit my tongue there, praying that my daughter would not fall in love with one of their dresses and I wouldn't have to deal with finding the dress there, and purchasing elsewhere, due to the overly pushy saleswoman. Because she wasn't getting one dime of my money due to her flip commentary. I didn't want my daughter to later have regrets about the choice she was so obviously being pushed into making. I spoke my mind with my checkbook. At one point, while insisting that a particular dress could be correctly sized to my extra-ordinarily tiny daughter, the Owner had to come out from the back and correct the information: that "the proportions are the proportions, and it will not be able to be sized in the way needed". It is obvious that when shortening a fit and flare dress that the flare cannot begin further up the dress, as the fabric would not be wide enough there to accommodate the change. Thankfully Owner had a conscience. Sadly for Owner, I was so enraged over callous comment by the Saleswoman that we did not return. We special ordered a beautiful dress elsewhere, where they didn't push as desperately for a sale. The sale could have been theirs, as well as mine and all of the bridesmaids. Note to Saleswoman: If you need to push this hard for a sale, you're pushing the wrong product. Girls come into the store wanting and hoping to find the perfect dress - not to be pushed into something to suit the needs of the worker. We found a lovely dress in a shop where the Sales Rep actually listened to both of us. read more

Overall I had a pretty good experience while at The Wedding Store but I feel that their customer service is a little lacking. My bridesmaids all ordered their dresses here and were asked for their measurements yet the dresses were ordered a few sizes up to account for them running smaller and for them to be taken in to fit properly. I also had an issue with a bridesmaid that resulted in her no longer being in my wedding and when I called to see what my options were I was met with no compromise. Although the dresses had not even been made yet (the girl confirmed this) they could not cancel the order on the $200 dress or even offer a partial refund. I'm sure that they could probably have just given me a refund and taken the dress to sell or called the dress maker and just taken that dress off the order. So, flash forward to the day the dresses come in and my girls try them on to find they are literally falling off. I understand the reasoning behind ordering them one size up, but I feel as though the excessive up-sizing was done in an effort to drum up tailoring business for them and was in poor taste. None of my bridesmaids, or myself for that matter, are made of money and already were hesitant to spend this much money on dresses- but to now have to spend up to $100 to have the dress hemmed and taken in? Ridiculous. What is the point of even taking measurements if you are not going to follow them? I'd go here for selection options but not for actual purchasing. read more

I went to this store to look for a wedding dress. Granted I did not make an appointment but this was the very first store I went into to check out dresses. A saleswoman came up to me & asked me when the wedding was & I proceeded to tell her it was 4 months away. She immediately said she couldn't help me. When I asked her if there any floor samples I could purchase she just pointed me to a dingy rack in the back & walked away . Needless to say I immediately left & had an amazing experience at Chrissy O's in Newton. If you have a business selling wedding dresses & somebody comes to your store to buy one , don't tell them you cant help them b/c they will feel offended & go to another store. read more

This store has a great selection of dresses and accessories for everyone in the bridal party. For this reason, I decided to get my bridesmaids dresses from them. Everything seemed to go smoothly until the girls actually got their dresses. I was absolutely mortified and appalled at the way they treated my bridesmaids. 2 of my girls could not fit into their dresses. The store had clearly mis-measured them. Judy told me they would cover the alteration costs if it was their mistake. When each girl went in with their dress to have it looked at, they were completely insulted and torn apart. The woman literally told one of them that no dress would ever fit her right because her ribs were too big! When the other girl went she was told her shoulders were too broad! They also tried to get these girls to pay for the alterations because "it isn't their fault that their bodies are different". I was outraged, but did not want to stir the pot before the wedding as I didn't want any ramifications to be taken out on the girls' dresses. I heard from another friend who had an identical experience there that the woman told her that "this is how dresses are supposed to fit. You must not be used to wearing nice dresses" when the dress wouldn't even close. I loved the dresses, but these completely offensive comments were absolutely uncalled for and unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend anyone else to shop here unless you want to have your bridal party feeling body shamed and belittled. read more

I have nothing but good things to say about my experience at the Wedding Store. I knew going in that I was on the lower end of the budget for most wedding dress boutiques in New Jersey (my budget was $1000), but at no point did the staff act like I was a "budget bride" or make me feel bad (I've heard from friends' experiences at other stores that this often can happen). They had a plethora of options in the $1000 or lower range (although they have lots of options higher than that, too). When I decided on "the dress", the sales woman told me that I should come back in a few weeks to buy it, because they would be having a trunk sale for that designer (Watters). I did that, and ended up spending only $750 on my dress, which was gorgeous and looked much more expensive, in my opinion. I got my alterations done at the Wedding Store, too, and that was also a great experience. I believe the seamstress' name is Jan, and she was wonderful- really great at explaining things (how the bustle worked, different options for length, etc) and was funny, sweet and really down to earth. I have highly recommended the Wedding Store to all my engaged friends- it was nothing but a great experience for me. read more
