I've been going to Tereska J since 2018. Here expertise as a colorist was on point until Dec 2021. I started having communication issues with her about the haircuts then with the coloring. After I explained what service I needed she would repeat it but it was never achieved. Tereska would volunteer to fix the the problem, but I just got tired of having a problem with either the cut or color All at your expense. and boy are her rates High. Furthermore, she developed other unusual habits that made me feel uncomfortable. There are other issues with this Salon that didn't fit my needs. When you are going to a higher end Salon, I don't expect to pay the credit card fee. I also didn't appreciate the constantly late for the appointment by 20-30 minutes. Once in the chair she constantly checks her phone as if your invisible and don't be surprised if you are asked to put another client in your place before she is finished with you. If you don't mind the above, this Salon is for you. read more

This salon exceeded expectations! They pay attention to all details including cleaniness, product knowledge, and even have fresh flowers out. When you walk in, you are greeted immediately by the manager Ally or Elise. You are offered something to drink or munch on for those of us who are always on the run. During Mardi Gras, they were sweet enough to put out slices of king cake for the guests. Nice touch! Everyone is so sweet and funny, yet professional and honest. Tereska, the owner always introduces herself to eveyone, which is refreshing. I couldnt be happier that theyre a Goldwell and Olaplex salon. The stylists are knowledgeable, kind and creative. Always a plus! There is also a mani/pedi room, where Jasmina does her magic, also lovely and highly skilled. Recommend for everyone.. men, women, and children. read more

I have so many hairstylists friends but I always find my way back to Sohaira. She's very great with color and keeps the integrity of my hair in tact. I can sit in her chair and not stress over how it will look. She's very thorough. She always gives me exactly what I want. They use Goldwell products and she works with Olaplex. The salon is really professional yet they make you feel right at home. The manager Ally is super sweet and the owner Tereska makes sure to greet you. A lot of places don't do that anymore so that was a nice touch. Definitely recommend! read more

This place is amazing. There's a ton of camaraderie between the stylists, the owner, and the customers, and the stylists really listen. They are all super accommodating and kind. My sister and I were in town for the holidays, and I really wanted a haircut, but didn't plan at all. I called this salon an hour and a half before closing time and they squeezed us in on no notice, despite it being the night before Thanksgiving. I hated the haircut I'd gotten somewhere else a few weeks earlier; I had said long layers, but it looked pretty different from any time I'd said that before, and my hair was just a mess. At Salon Tereska, my stylist, Robin, confirmed that the "long layers" were cut unevenly and weirdly close. She fixed them, and my hair looked much better. She even explained how my cowlick works, which no one has ever told me. The best part was that after my haircut was over, I mentioned to my sister the more dramatic haircut I wanted next time, when I found someone I could trust at home again, and Tereska herself overheard and offered to do it on the spot. She and Robin worked together to give me an amazing second haircut, the kind you only ask for once you trust someone (if, like me, you've recently had been burned). The prices were also completely reasonable, half of what I have paid at some places. Robin and my sister's stylist, Sahaira, both stayed past opening hours on the night before Thanksgiving to give us haircuts we could be happy about. I can't believe how kind and skilled they were. This a lovely little salon off of Metairie Road. It's super cute inside and all of the staff have always been extremely friendly. They have carafes of flavored water or offer wine if that's your thing. And let's get real, having a nice glass of wine while you're getting your hair done is pretty tops. I always see Brittany and she helps turn the mess I usually show up with into something lovely again. I have been coming here to get "coiffed" since it opened over 10 years ago which is a long time for me. I usually get tired of the personality of my haircutter and annoyed with the ambiance of the salon, most of which are noisy. Not so here. The place is small and creatively decorated. They'll serve you lemonade or water or soft drinks or wine if you choose. It is a relaxing place to get your 'do on. Joyce has been cutting my hair as long as I have been coming here, and she does it right all the time. She is a sweet and pretty lady too. Marta, Tereska's daughter, is also a favorite. She fills in when Joyce is out or booked and always does a great job. She is a sweetheart and beautiful to boot. My new fave is Brittany who washes my hair and gives a magnificent scalp massage. She is a delight to talk to and happens also to be awesomely gorgeous. And I can't forget Allie, the sweetest receptionist in the world. Yes, she's gorgeous too. Being new to New Orleans, I had to find a salon offering Goldwell color. I stumbled upon Salon Tereska during a Google search, and it was a great find. It is a quaint little place - on the 2nd level of a small plaza in Old Metairie. The ladies are so warm and welcoming - my stylist greets me with a hug, and Allie always offers me a beverage upon arrival. Been to all the salons Uptown and I now head out there (actually heading there in 15 minutes) The first time there was great to discuss the different cuts that would work for me and she likes to go easy into a style than to go from long to short in one swoop. I really liked this salon in the beginning. They use Goldwell color which is excellent and Tereska knows her stuff. However after going for several months I was switched from Tereska to another operator for color, who did not know what she was doing. I was constantly leaving with hot roots different colors in my hair. When I asked her for a long layered haircut, she gave me a blunt cut and called the long bangs layers. I only recommend this place if Tereska does your color. read more
