What an amazing little bookshop. Not unlike Shop around the corner, it is independently owned by Natasha, who is an amazing woman. So well appointed, and so organized. There are many little rooms you can wander in and out of. A great selection of books you will be able to find anything you want here. There are also lots of different activities that are held at the sweet bookshop. Check out their website! In the heart of Watoosa, it's a lovely little place to visit.

I LOVED VISITING THIS NEW ROMANCE BOOKSTORE! Wow, what a breath of fresh air! The branding could not be more on point - bursting with femininity and playfulness. Before you walk in, you're greeted by the cutest shop decal on the windows, and 'Bert the Bookseller' (if you're lucky hehe). I love the shop owner's play on words to match her personal attributes. Upon entering, you will feel immediately bubbly and excited by all of the girliness and color bursting within. I truly felt like a kid in a candy store browsing all of the products and books - come ready to spend some money (you won't be able to resist)! There is an extensive collection of fun stickers, bookmarks, pins, clothing, bags, and so much more to browse in addition to an impressive collection of novels. The attention to detail is impeccable, everywhere you turn you see carefully curated decor that ties the whole theme together. I could spend all afternoon sitting in her cozy nooks you find sprinkled throughout the shop. Natasha, the shop owner, was incredibly sweet and helpful - even though she was busy greeting guest after guest during her soft opening, she took the time to walk with me and help decided which books to pick based on her recommendations. It was so fun hearing her witty synopsis of each book she picked up - this girl knows her novels! My girlfriends and I were giddy with delight sipping rose and browsing her carefully curated collection of options. Everything felt reasonably priced for the quality you were receiving, and it felt great to support local! There's something so special about walking into an ACTUAL bookstore instead of ordering from Amazon or borrowing from the library; it's a sensory experience that truly brings join and is unbeatable. There's an excitement that in-person browsing and connection provide you with that virtual shopping just can't compare to. I'm excited to visit the store again and take part in the book club that it hosts and any other community engagement events that take place there. Awesome work following your dreams and making them a reality! Go buy some books, friends!

I've been dying to checkout this bookshop since they opened and I was not disappointed! The whole place is incredibly cute and well decorated. You can tell how much thought went into creating the space. The stores bigger than I expected with a second room down a small hallway. The book selection was great and there was lots of cute merchandise! The staff was super friendly and helpful with suggestions.

Came in with my husband while waiting for a table at La Rêve. There was an older lady working…read morebehind the counter and said nothing when we walked in. It was dead silent for a period of time before she grumbled about the Christmas books being on sale, then proceeded to loudly crunch on nuts or whatever it was she was eating. Eventually another older lady came in who she seemed to be friends with and they were talking together. My husband told me he heard the lady working tell her friend "I don't trust those guys." I looked up after this and she was glaring me down through the window between the children's room and front desk. Immediately I put down what I was considering buying and left. Never have I felt so unwelcome in a store and am still bothered by the experience hours later. Regardless of this experience, the selection of books is very poor and there are no prices listed. Are we to assume everything is MSRP? Please tell me you aren't charging $30 for the years old hardcovers on display.

Unique bookstore in the heart of Wauwatosa!!!!…read more They do have a nice selection of books that you may not see at other bookstores Unfortunately the two employees didn't even notice that I walked in right in after the UPS delivery guy and they seemed very interested what was in the package. Just like Christmas I guess. Hours might be different than what is posted on the door depending on the day of the week. So you might want to call a head since social media might not be the 2 employees cup of tea

It will be hard to miss--the door is framed by various…read morechildren's book characters, like Corduroy, Harold and his purple crayon, Amelia Bedelia, and more. It's not large but it is mighty and packed to the gills. They carry everything from high-contrast books for the littlest babies to juvenile or even what one might considered more adult items (I think I saw some Erik Larson books there). There's a small room with books geared toward children in early childhood, and then the larger room has a combo of bigger kid and teen books. There was some apparel, and I almost wished I was still doing onesies for my baby because they had some Clifford ones, and maybe Corduroy too (which was my favorite as a child). In addition to oodles of books, they have some toys and I bought a set of Little Blue Truck puzzle blocks since that's a book we like to read. They're quirky here--they had a Pope pool going, taking guesses on what country the new Pope will be from (this is 2025, and Pope Francis died a couple weeks ago). The owner was nice and let me set down my little one because she'd fallen asleep just before we got there. The chair must have been comfortable because she slept the full 20 or so minutes we were there. There seemed to be a little play area in the front window too. There's no parking for this shop, but there's a lot of parking on the street in front and on the side streets. They are only open Wednesday and Saturday, so plan accordingly if you're in the Milwaukee area.

The artwork alone is worth the visit, an absolute masterpiece that captures the soul of the community. But what truly made my trip unforgettable was stepping inside this literary haven. From the moment I walked in, I was enveloped in an atmosphere of warmth, curiosity, and pure book-loving joy. This isn't just a bookstore--it's an experience. The shelves are thoughtfully curated, with an incredible selection of books for all ages. Whether you're searching for a childhood favorite, a thought-provoking novel, or a unique find, you'll leave with something special. And then there's Mary Beth--an absolute delight! Her passion for books and the community shines through every conversation. She doesn't just recommend books; she connects with you, making the visit feel personal and inspiring. If you stop by, take the time to chat with her--you won't regret it! Whether you're a lifelong reader, a parent looking for the perfect book for your child, or simply someone who appreciates a space that radiates warmth and creativity, this bookstore is a must-visit. Don't just take a quick peek--sit, read, soak in the atmosphere, and let the magic of this place wash over you. I'm already planning my return trip this spring--this time, just to buy a book and relive the experience. If you find yourself anywhere near this bookstore, do yourself a favor and don't pass it by. Trust me, you'll thank yourself later! Good books. Great vibes. Even better people.
