We booked it for both a corporate event for our California business and also a personal party in 2015 to entertain friends within a one hour flight from Chicago. I was referred to it by a guy in New York who was looking for a place to entertain two sets of clients, one in in Lexington and one in Louisville, at a central location around the Oaks and to do the Bourbon trail one day. It is a midpoint location part way between. They have a unique high ceiling apartment rental next door that I think you can rent in conjunction with the event space. The unit is huge. I stayed one day while I was siting my party weekend. That makes for a great place for the wedding party say or to entertain the most important clients at your event. Both the space and the loft are very unique and have a much younger/modern vibe compared to the traditional decor and architecture for this town. There is a good Mexican restaurant next door. I really liked the open layout, you could decorate it however you liked if you wanted to do a theme, but it also looks great with the minimalist shop lights and functional sliding warehouse-style door. I don't want to quote prices because it probably depends but I was surprised how reasonable it was, talk to them yourself... The primary drawbacks as I see it is there is nothing else to rent like this within 20 miles, so I probably will have to rent it several years in advance and I tend to have a hard time planning work events too far in advance so it may be booked before my 16 and 17 event is planned. I talked to Kevin, who was very informative and down to earth. I met with an owner there also who happened to be dropping by to weigh in on some details. He is a broker in this town and said he did this as a creative outlet (enjoys rehabbing historic properties) and to increase the demand for permanent housing nearby as he is an investor, so that is how he can justify to rent it out at what I calc'd to be below-market rates for this type of space. If you like modern style, high ceilings and flexible space with a nod to the past and walkability to nearby goods and services(huge factor for us) is a big consideration for you, this is your thing. Check it out for yourself ... I think you will agree with what I am saying though- the place is sharp and this town had needed something like it for a long time. Look forward to many events here.

It included sooooo much and made wedding planning a million times easier. The package included the use of both rooms - reception and hearth room. It included catering, cake and cupcakes, officiant, wedding planner (Janna), DJ, and your choice of decorations. It CAN include your flowers too, something I chose to do and they were beautiful! You cannot beat the price anywhere. The venue itself if gorgeous! I am in live with the hearth room and am so glad we were able to have the ceremony in there. It is a HUGE stone hearth that takes up moth of the wall. They have it decorated gorgeously with lanterns and garland. The reception room is huge and has a nice stage. The tables and chairs all get decorated and looked amazing. It is very classy. There is also a very nice bar area if you choose to get a bar package. It is all stone and wood. There is a beautiful outside area to get married and/or take pictures. They have a great bride room with its own toilet, lots of mirrors, and seats. The restrooms are very nice and large so people can change clothes is needed. I don't think you can find a prettier venue, especially at their prices. The catering was by Shack in the Back BBQ. They have special prices with that venue that you can't beat. We had BBQ pork and chicken with AMAZING mashed potatoes, mac n cheese, and scrumptious green beans. The BBQ pork was very good with your choice of sauce. I was told (but didn't try it personally) that the BBQ wasn't very good. For an additional dollar per plate, it included lemonade and maybe something else to drink (I can't remember the details.) It was definitely worth the extra charge not to have to bring in our own drinks and make sure they were cold. The cake and cupcakes were very good. I LOVED the icing, it wasn't too sweet but just sweet enough. I got a mix of vanilla and chocolate. They put beautiful pink flowers on the top of the cake. I was really pleased with how it turned out. The MOST IMPORTANT part of the whole experience was the people that work there. Megan was wonderful to work with getting everything initially set up and managed. Louise did a great job on my flowers and gave me exactly what it asked for. But Janna, the coordinator, was absolutely the best part of the whole experience! She made sure every detail was planned out and ran smoothly. She was available by text or phone anytime I had a question or changed my mind. She was also the officiant at our ceremony and almost brought me to tears. She makes the whole Pop Up package work and knows exactly what she's doing. What a pleasure to work with! Please consider using Rivers Edge for your wedding or any event. Wow! Wow! Wow! Two…read moreof my dearest friends tied the knot recently, and I cannot fathom a better venue for their wedding. With the wedding day scheduled for a Saturday, the bridal party and groomsmen were able to leave gowns, beauty products, suits, and overnight bags in our rooms the Friday before upon completing the rehearsal. This allowed for an easy situation to walk in to on the morning of the wedding as we prepared for the ceremony later that afternoon. The house was built in the mid 1800s and has been kept within the family since then. The current owners, Kim and Chaz, take great pride in the house and were extremely accommodating towards our group. They were on hand throughout Saturday to answer any questions. As a history nerd, I loved speaking with them more on the history of the house and the surrounding gardens (that were stunningly beautiful in September) as I snuck a cigarette on the back porch during the reception. When the bride & groom booked the venue, they were also able to secure accommodations for the bridal party. Considering that all five of the bridesmaids live over an hour away, it made for the perfect place to crash post reception. Our two flower girls had a ball exploring the house and spent the night as well with no problem. To top off the magical wedding weekend, Kim and Chaz prepared coffee and breakfast on Sunday morning for the guests that spent the night. I highly recommend considering Midlane Farm as a special events venue. The service we received certainly deserves five stars!
