I love watching the WW show so I just had to go check it out while visiting NY this week. I arrived for the taping around 7:40 and the line had already formed but I was in a good spot. They moved us into a waiting room around 8 and we filled out some paperwork before going into the studio about 9:30. People came from all over the world to visit the show. Germany, South Africa and London to name a few. The hype man was so much fun. We were getting are groove on to the DJ and it really set the mood for the crowd to unwind before the show. Once Wendy came out we were ready lol. Wendy was really sweet too I am so glad I had a chance to experience this.

A very fun experience! The DJ and Marco Glorious, the hype man, really make the audience excited for the show. I went to Michael Rapport's guest hosting for this week and he did great, very funny! My only gripe is the ticketing. The positive is that the tickets are free. However, you get assigned tickets by letters (A, T, W, S) with A being the best and S being the worst because you get your seats last. You are given a ticket and one of the assistants randomly assigns/draws you a letter no matter if you arrive late or early. I don't get how that process works. Besides that, it is a fun time, highly recommend!

I thought it would be pretty cool to go to a taping show. So to get tickets to a Wendy Williams show you must "apply", it's not as intense as it might sound. It was more like writing a short half page double spaced paper. In this paper, you must express how you're an old or new fan and just different things you like about Wendy/the show. Everyone is lining up to get into the show. I got there pretty early but I was number 51 in line. Even with a confirmed email it is still no guarantee that you will get in; one may not get in for their wardrobe choices (no plain or or black but bright colors) or just they've reached capacity as they tend to over book so in case of no shows. I'm glad I made it in; after security check we were all put in this room. We were handed a sheet of paper and a pencil. A sheet of paper and pencil, you ask? It was hot topic. We all had to think of a juicy question to ask Wendy and they she might answer it on air. Once those people were chosen they were taken elsewhere and the rest of us waited for a few more moments before hailing us all up a huge elevator. I'm vlogging and taking photos as you're permitted to have cameras out just not when taping of course. It can time to placing everyone where they thought fit. Once I get to the front they sit me right smack dab in the front. It was pretty cool to be so up-close to Wendy. All belongings are stowed away underneath your seat that is covered in this royal blue fabric--so that it won't look so cluttered on camera. The show begins and it's all scripted. They tell us when to say "how youuuu doin" which is one of her favorite lines. Also many many ohhhhs and ahhhhs as it was also a hot topic segment. Before I knew it the show was over with and Wendy was thanking her audience for coming out to support. It was cute someone gifted Wendy a handmade bracelet. The people in the front row got a chance to take a photo with Wendy. I'm vlogging the whole thing as well as smiling for my camera phone as she makes her way closer to me. She kindof looked like she really has two cameras in her hand right now haha. I'm usually really good at this but this time for whatever reason our photo on my camera phone was blurry. No worries, I have it on video and that memory isn't going anywhere. I did snap a good photo of her as she was giving thanks once again. Great experience of behind the scenes or production in the making. I would definitely go to another one of her tapings as she had the audience engaged and laughing throughout. Next time you're in New York perhaps attend a taping of some sort. How yoouuuuu doinnn? :)

A fairly easy process to request tickets online and attend the show. The show goes live at 10am and I was in line by 8. A fairly smooth process once you go through security and fill out paperwork for ask Wendy. Would have been nice to have water available for guests. Everyone is seated close to each other in holding as casting folks choose who they want for ask Wendy. One last chance to use the restroom and off we went to the studio. Once seated it's a full on DJ party! Fun environment and dancing/photos are encouraged before taping starts. Masks to be worn at all times. We were done in an hour and released by 11:15.

Super fun and energetic. Like we were in a club. But I was turned off with the crowd of people that attended the show. They were obviously regulars but they acted like they owned the place... and they were pretty ratchet... not my cup of tea. Anyways, "how you doin"

I watch the Wendy show everyday (yes I have a job I just record it) and I was happy to finally attend in person. You get here and they make you do a line where they check IDs and make sure you are on the list. Then they put you in a room until your section is called. They played really cool music and play games to hype everyone for the show. Then Wendy comes out and its super friendly and she even stays after the show for people to take pictures of her. My friends and I had a great time :)

We had the best time at the Wendy Show. We flew in the day before to ensure we could get in line bright and early the day of the show. We were like the 20th and 21st ppl in line at 6:40am. The studio was easy to find and near Penn Station. We stood in line for about and 1hr and 20 minutes. The staff was prompt and professional (the security guys are a hoot). Once they let us in, we were lined up and ushered into a waiting room with coffee and chairs (wear flats and bring cute shoes to change in). They had us all submit questions to ask Wendy. So my friend submitted one that got picked for the show! So we got picked out of the waiting room and seated first. The studio is so much more smaller than it looks on TV. The staff again was prompt and lots of fun. The hype man and DJ had us full of energy and made the experience like a party! Wendy was excellent as always and really made you feel like you were her co-host. Can't wait to come back and do it again.

Excellent experience. Went on the day of my mother's 65th birthday and had an amazing time. Submitted the ticket request as soon as the date opened, website wasn't receiving my request, so I sent an email. Didn't hear anything for about 4 weeks and started to get nervous, but got a call confirming tickets the week before the show. Called right away to RSVP. Never did get an emailed ticket. Even checked spam, but no luck. We were super late to the line. Instructions said to be there BY 8 o'clock. I dropped my mom off at 7:58AM and after parking, I didn't get in line until 8:05AM. Our names were on the list, but I almost didn't get in because of our tardiness. Heads up people, BE EARLY!!! Once inside the rope, you go down a ramp and through security (metal detector and bag check) You are then ushered into a waiting room where there are bathrooms, mirrors, and a water/coffee station. You are offered sheets to fill out questions for the "Ask Wendy" portion. The show itself is fun and engaging. Once you get into the studio, there is space under the chairs for your stuff (hot iron, makeup, etc.) The hype guy and DJ are fun. Wendy is WENDY and exactly like you see her on the show. No time for autographs, but they do let you take pictures. You're out around noon, plenty of time to make it home and watch yourself on TV. Highly recommend.

This was my second time visiting the wendy show. I decided to bring my mother along for this taping because she loves Wendy as well and I wanted to show her a good time. Wendy's show is always a ball of fun thanks to her hype man and DJ who make the whole time you're there feel like a party. It's also really cool to witness the behind the scenes that goes into making a daytime tv show. Here's where the show goes wrong: the security staff! These guys act like they are working for President Obama the way they grill you and flaunt their egos. I was really taken aback at some of the treatment audience members received by these men. I constantly heard belittling comments and insults thrown at women. One guy goes,"Bring all of the rest of the lazy people out" and another one said to a woman in front of me who was being called in another direction by another staff member "You're not running the show here, I am." Guys you're working for Wendy Williams. Not the Queen, not the Obamas, not royalty, Wendy freakin Williams. I did not like the security staff at all. We were treated more like cattle before the show than people. She needa to fix her staff because without an audience there is no show! Also the studio is so freaking cold I thought I had frost bite afterwards. Be prepared to freeze your butt off for the 2 hours you're there. Nonetheless, my mom and I did enjoy ourselves and it was a cool experience but I think it will be a while before I attend a taping here again.

September 2019.. it was my birthday and I had the time of my life! 5 hearts! Wendy was just as entertaining and funny as she is on television. Everyone's full of energy and super friendly. I'm definitely going back after COVID-19 has passed!

    Jessica W.

Its Wendy, she gets all 5 stars every chance I get. My bestie gifted me with tickets to a show as a complete surprise. We went back and forth over what to wear and I'm gald we did b/c the audience really does dress to impress. So we reserved parking the night before at a lot directly across the street so that was super convenient considering the heels were high. We arrived around 7:45am and the line had been started but not to long, by 815 it was Very long, we waited outside and watched all the fancy behind the scene, and special guests arrive and then we got inside ( after a security check) We then sat inside a basement type room as they asked you to write down any ask Wendys you may have, gave out birthday crowns ( if you didnt have one) and there was coffee with trimmings along with restrooms. This seems to be where the interns are booked and busy they were very helpful and cool. You are then lined up by ticket, walk to the elevator and head into the studio which is seems smaller in person, I guess since watching it on TV you expect it to be huge but it call it a Big Beautiful Production, there was no corner cut with regards to technology and showmanship ! Wendy came out and looked beautiful in person, she interacted with the crowd, the music was great and the energy was good also. We left at about 11:30am and went on about our day. It was a great time with my friend and a memorable experience ! The tickets are free go for it!

Where do I start?!!! Amazing experience, it is definitely as fun as it looks on the show! My tip is DRESS TO IMPRESS and arrive EARLY! I Showed up at the time my instructions told me to but all the seats in the audience were already taken. Mind you, I drove all the way from VA just for the show. So, I spoke to a producer outside and I believe a few other staffers saw my outfit and wanted me in the door. I have to say was extremely impressed that things run like a well oiled machine and everything is SO on point. From the Security, to the producers, to the interns. Everyone was extremely professional and ALL very impressive. When you get to the door you will be handed a ticket with a letter on it, that tells the staffers who they want in what sections for the production. Dress to impress if you want to be featured, you are judged AT THE DOOR. Long story short I ended up in the FRONT ROW, I stood next to Wendy during the concert segment AND I got to do a 1 on 1 game show segment with her!!! I will definitely be going back this fall because it is guaranteed to be a good time. Final notes: Arrive hair and make up ready, wear your flats until you get inside and show up at the door with your entire party to ensure you all get in!

Omg omg omg she touched me lol *star struck fan girl moment*

First of all... OMG!!!!! It's the day after I went to the show (2/27/17) and I'm still star struck! I really don't know where to start... if your a huge Wendy fan like myself (how you doin!) then going to her show at least once will be worth your while. Let me give it to you straight with no chaser... First of all YES you need to get there early. I arrived at 7:30am and was number 55 on my ticket. I've read through all the reviews on yelp... and I don't understand why people are complaining about the security. YES, they aren't so "friendly" but that's because they are doing their job! Wendy is a woman that needs protection. She definitely has an amazing staff inside and out. Before the show I was approached twice! By her staff to be on the show for modeling or "ask Wendy" but I was too shy to ask anything personal. It made me feel really good and even more excited to be a part of something I watch every single day. My boyfriend and I both agree that she is so beautiful in person, like a doll. Suzanne, Marco, Norman and all of her staff were so nice and truly uplifted the energy. During one of the commercial breaks Wendy came down my isle, (I was seated at the end of the row) and omg omg omg she started dancing with me! So of course I was like how you doin! She was so nice and in her element. After she asked me where I lived and if I dragged my boyfriend there... then, the cameras were rolling. So at this point I'm having a heart attack and then... all of a sudden... on live television... she told the world "she's from Long Island and dragged him here" etc. !!!!!!!!! I just wasn't expecting it but it felt really cool. All around a great experience. I will definitely be back with a snack. Don't listen to any negative reviews.

Ask the Community - The Wendy Williams Show

If I attend the 10am taping, what time will we be out of there?

    A little after 11AM

How good is this business going?

    Very good

Does it matter what time I request for? 10 am or 2 pm?

No. They're are going to offer you both times.

I'm going to the taping on Monday 5/6, I literally do not want to buy "dress shoes" is it bad that I wear super clean classic dark blue vans to the taping?

Hi yes of Course a New Suit or outfit would be Perfect for Wendy Williams Show. However you have decided to wear a dark Blue that may look Good on you Make sure you Press the outfit & neat Congratulations to you for being there I'll be watching…

No time to see her show, but do they have a gift shop at the studio?

No, there isn't a gift shop.

I know there are two tapings, the first is at 10AM, the next is at 1pm But her show airs at 10 AM live, so when would the 1 o'clock show air.?

    The next morning

I made a ticket request online. What is the likelihood that I will get tickets emailed?

It's not usually too hard, but often they won't send them until 1-2 weeks ahead of time. If you requested them right after they were released your chances are better.

I can't explain to you the excitement I felt to be selected for such a prestigious event.. I sent the email asking for tickets back in August never thinking I would get an opportunity! I'm not sure if it was an NBC page that sends the email but let me tell you they were amazing to communicate with and very personable, they totally didn't have to be given that the tickets are 100% free so I appreciated the kindness! The experience was a dream from entry into 30 rock until the end of the show.. you arrive to the Rockefeller and wait in line to enter the Peacock lounge by the time listed on your ticket. Peacock lounge was very cool! They had a photobooth you could snap pictures at (sent to you electronically) and had free drinks (alcoholic or various sodas) and they even gave us cookies as we exited (sweet treat) to head to the show. Moving on to the main event.. what can I say about the show? As a Muslim attendee seeing the show during the month of Ramadan, having a Muslim host was unreal to see! They catered skits so smoothly to be appropriate for the host and his audience, I was honestly pleasantly surprised to see such inclusivity at SNL, made me love it even more which I didn't think was possible! It was a joy to see the behind the scenes switches from stage to stage and the cast messing around with each other in between skits. I really felt that every skit was a hit and we saw some extras that didn't make the show which was a plus. I was in awe of the weekend update as I grew up watching Seth Meyers execute it so perfectly, but Colin and Michael really made it their own, I couldn't stop laughing! Overall a life changing experience, I would recommend every SNL fan try to get lottery tickets, heck I would even wait in a long line for a chance to experience it again Tip: They sell unique t shirts in the store with the host and musical guest on it that you can buy after the show, would totally recommend getting one to have a cool souvenir to commemorate the show with!

Mr. Bill was another favorite SNL character! I can still hear his "OH NO!" The whole SNL production had the look and feel of rogues taking over the studio for a live performance and it always felt like we were part of the "cool kids" who were invited to the takeover! The early, first "Not Ready for Prime Time Players" felt like cool Aunts and Uncles and were so beloved! It was devastating when Gilda Radner, John Belushi, and Chris Farley died!!!! Five easy stars for the earliest years of SNL, and two stars for today. I quit watching it years ago and yes, the ratings have tanked compared to the earliest years. I think SNL is currently on season 51. I wish them well! For me, I'll always cherish the memories, characters, and general FUN from the early days! Thanks, SNL!

From there you probably have another 2 hour wait before they will start putting you to seats and let you use the bathroom. The entire thing took about 4 hours in total, including the taping. Honestly it's a fun experience if you can manage the time off.P

These days, music videos are watched far more often online than on TV. Music videos of the rising talent makes the Video Music Awards a reliable venue for a fun and often avant garde fashion show with Artists taking risks that people young and old might avoid at more traditional award shows. The risks are a good reason to watch or in my case, glimpse the Sunday spectacle on September 7th, which included feathery pastel boas, fluffy hats, bedazzled cups, and a Labubu doll dressed as an astronautical Moon Person! This year's ceremony aired, on CBS owned by Paramount, included Ariana Grande for video of the year; Lady Gaga for artist of the year; Rosé and Bruno Mars for song of the year ("APT."); and Alex Warren for best new artist. Enjoy!

I WANT MY MTV!!!!!!! The early 80s+ anthem!…read more The "I want my MTV" campaign included ads where rock stars such as Pete Townsend and the Police would say "I want my MTV," endorsing the channel. Music Television officially launched on 8-1-1981, airing music videos and related programs hosted by video jockeys, or VJs. Martha Quinn, the "girl next door" VJ still hosts a daily show on Sirius XM Radio's "The 80s on 8" station. MTV dominated pop culture in the 80s! The first words when MTV initially aired were spoken by one of MTV's creators, John Lack: "Ladies and gentlemen, rock and roll." A nod, perhaps, to the iconic, legendary Lemmy Kilmister's opening of every Motorhead show with, "We are Motorhead...And We play rock and roll!" Because of MTV, I threw teenage caution to the wind and paid for my family's cable television! This was a serious commitment in 1981. My favorite artists' videos at that time were Stevie Nicks, Billy Idol, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, the Police, Ratt (who's autograph I got when they came to Huntsville), U2, ZZ Top, and of course Van Halen (in the David Lee Roth or "Diamond Dave") days! Who can forget the iconic moment Courtney Cox was pulled onstage in the Bruce Springsteen video, "Dancing in the Dark?!" That was an adorable moment and probably a game-changer for her pending generations-long acting career! Stand out videos were Michael Jackson's "Thriller," "Billie Jean," and "Beat it"(all in 1983); "1999" by Prince in 1983; and Whitesnake's "Here I Go Again" featuring Tawny Kitaen in 1987. We were all glued to MTV on July 13, 1985, when MTV showed the Live Aid concerts (broadcasting 16 hours of coverage,) held in London and Philadelphia and organized by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to raise funds for famine relief in Ethiopia. The 1983 US Festival from 5/28/83-5/30/83 featured Van Halen who headlined on "Heavy Metal Day." To experience VH, my crew and I rented a hotel room (Kings Inn, S. Memorial Parkway, Huntsville - still there to this day); rounded up our 110 cameras, stocked up on fast food takeout, filled the bathtub with ice and cold bottled of Busch, and settled in to watch the show on the room's cable TV and enjoy the swimming pool. ((Good times!!)) Other than a few interesting videos in the 90s, MTV pretty much died for me in the 80s. It was a great ride, though! Thank you MTV!

Chopped has always been a favorite of mine, along with all the competitive chef cook offs and Giada's cooking shows. There's just something about watching talented chefs think on their feet and create amazing dishes under pressure that pulls you in every time. In my early 20s, it was definitely my go to. Whether I was relaxing, looking for inspiration, or just had it on in the background while cooking, Food Network was always playing. It actually helped me grow in the kitchen...learning new techniques, flavor combinations, and getting creative with what I had on hand. I also love the variety of shows they offer. From high level competitions to simple, everyday recipes, there's something for everyone no matter your skill level. It's not just entertaining, it's motivating...especially if you love food or work in the culinary world. Even now, I still find myself tuning in. It's one of those feel-good channels that mixes entertainment, education, and creativity all in one.

I do wish the Food Network would reduce (or better yet eliminate entirely) the amount of "competition" shows and game shows. I've been pleased with most Food Network branded products I have bought over the years and have enjoyed most of the Food Network books I have purchased, especially "The Food Network Test Kitchen Cookbook!" I loved Chef Robert Irvine's "Restaurant Impossible," and "Dinner Impossible" and was absolutely elated when Restaurant Impossible made over a restaurant in my county called "The Main Dish." We couldn't wait to visit the restaurant after the makeover and it was really good, especially for the small town it was located in, Meridianville, Alabama. Other chefs I enjoy are Ree Drummond, Ina Garten, and I like some of Giada De Laurnetiiis' recipes. Who can forget Food Network's sister channel, "The Cooking Channel" that airs/aired fun shows like "Bitchin Kitchen" with Nadia G., "Extra Virgin" with Debi Mazar, and my favorite, Bobby Deen's "Not My Mama's Meal." Thanks Food Network for entertaining, enlightening, and educating us!
