This was a lot of fun! The music, the hype man We went on a Thursday for a Friday airing. The reservation said arrive no later than 12:00 pm and we arrrived at 11:30. By the time we arrived, the line was in two parts and we had to stand in the back half. We waited in line for about 30 min before the line started shuffling towards the entrance. One of the executive staff came out and asked who had high energy and wanted to be in a game and they selected five people and whisked them and their friends away. Other staff members confirmed our names were on the list, had us sign a waiver, and then gave us a ticket marked either A, T, W, or S. We were given a T. The next phase was going through security. That took another hour. There was only one metal detector and two persons working this station. Once through security we entered into a cramped waiting room where we had to fill out a Ask Wendy Question form. They wanted everyone to ask at least one advice question. It wasn't required but it was strongly encouraged. Finally they started seating groups. A stands for At. T stands for The. W stands for Wendy. And S stands for Show. This is the order they brought you in. Once inside it's nothing but the dj and the hype man keeping everyone hype and excited. It was like a mini party and very high energy. There were times when the camera got in the way of seeing Wendy, but there were small TVs stationed around the room so you could still see. In between segments they were playing music and hyping us up again. There was also a performance, so seeing them set that up was neat as well. overall we were there from 11:30-3:30. read more

What you see, is what you get! Literally if you enjoy watching Wendy, even if only occasionally, you will enjoy attending her show. To be honest you may enjoy it even more. Full disclosure be prepared to do a lot of standing and waiting, then some more waiting and standing. The fact is, that is probably the most annoying part and can be very frustrating, especially if Mother Nature isn't on board. Once you get pass slowly watching paint dry or a pot begin to boil, the fun begins. In the holding area it's funny to watch people transform in attempt to be recognized by Wendy for being flashy. But It truly becomes a party with total audience participation once you enter the studio. Dj Booth and Marco G fill the atmosphere with good vibes by feeding off the audience and each other. They usually pick audience members to twerk and dance prior to the the start of the show. When the show begins it's the usual clapping and sound effects required in most talk show tappings. The actual tapping goes pretty quickly and then you are promptly ushered out. If there is any giveaways, the staff hands it to you as you exit. Just A Note: It is very difficult to actually hear what Wendy is saying at times when the crowd claps, so I recommend you watch the show when it airs. read more

I love watching the WW show so I just had to go check it out while visiting NY this week. I arrived for the taping around 7:40 and the line had already formed but I was in a good spot. They moved us into a waiting room around 8 and we filled out some paperwork before going into the studio about 9:30. People came from all over the world to visit the show. Germany, South Africa and London to name a few. The hype man was so much fun. We were getting are groove on to the DJ and it really set the mood for the crowd to unwind before the show. A very fun experience! The DJ and Marco Glorious, the hype man, really make the audience excited for the show. I went to Michael Rapport's guest hosting for this week and he did great, very funny! My only gripe is the ticketing. The positive is that the tickets are free. However, you get assigned tickets by letters (A, T, W, S) with A being the best and S being the worst because you get your seats last. You are given a ticket and one of the assistants randomly assigns/draws you a letter no matter if you arrive late or early. I don't get how that process works. This review is for the process of actually getting ON the Wendy show which I really feel can be greatly improved upon. My girlfriend and I got our reservations about three weeks prior to the tape date. The reservation said to arrive at the studio NO LATER than 12:00 pm for the 2:00pm taping. We got in line at 11:45. I would say there where a good amount of people in front of us and within minutes a good amount of people in back of us. After waiting for almost a half hour we were told there were no more tickets. We were also asked if we wanted to come back next week instead. No thank you I don't. I have a job. It took more than a week's notice to plan this trip. I simply can't understand if tickets are finite why send out that many reservations over the limit. Why take a chance on disappointing that many people. And why not say on the reservation to line up as early as 11 instead of get there by 12. So misleading and disappointing. read more

I thought it would be pretty cool to go to a taping show. So to get tickets to a Wendy Williams show you must "apply", it's not as intense as it might sound. It was more like writing a short half page double spaced paper. In this paper, you must express how you're an old or new fan and just different things you like about Wendy/the show. Everyone is lining up to get into the show. I got there pretty early but I was number 51 in line. Even with a confirmed email it is still no guarantee that you will get in; one may not get in for their wardrobe choices (no plain or or black but bright colors) or just they've reached capacity as they tend to over book so in case of no shows. I'm glad I made it in; after security check we were all put in this room. We were handed a sheet of paper and a pencil. A sheet of paper and pencil, you ask? It was hot topic. We all had to think of a juicy question to ask Wendy and they she might answer it on air. Once those people were chosen they were taken elsewhere and the rest of us waited for a few more moments before hailing us all up a huge elevator. I'm vlogging and taking photos as you're permitted to have cameras out just not when taping of course. It can time to placing everyone where they thought fit. Once I get to the front they sit me right smack dab in the front. It was pretty cool to be so up-close to Wendy. All belongings are stowed away underneath your seat that is covered in this royal blue fabric--so that it won't look so cluttered on camera. The show begins and it's all scripted. They tell us when to say "how youuuu doin" which is one of her favorite lines. Also many many ohhhhs and ahhhhs as it was also a hot topic segment. Before I knew it the show was over with and Wendy was thanking her audience for coming out to support. It was cute someone gifted Wendy a handmade bracelet. The people in the front row got a chance to take a photo with Wendy. I'm vlogging the whole thing as well as smiling for my camera phone as she makes her way closer to me. She kindof looked like she really has two cameras in her hand right now haha. I'm usually really good at this but this time for whatever reason our photo on my camera phone was blurry. No worries, I have it on video and that memory isn't going anywhere. I did snap a good photo of her as she was giving thanks once again. Great experience of behind the scenes or production in the making. I would definitely go to another one of her tapings as she had the audience engaged and laughing throughout. A fairly easy process to request tickets online and attend the show. The show goes live at 10am and I was in line by 8. A fairly smooth process once you go through security and fill out paperwork for ask Wendy. Would have been nice to have water available for guests. Everyone is seated close to each other in holding as casting folks choose who they want for ask Wendy. One last chance to use the restroom and off we went to the studio. Once seated it's a full on DJ party! Fun environment and dancing/photos are encouraged before taping starts. Masks to be worn at all times. We were done in an hour and released by 11:15. read more

You get here and they make you do a line where they check IDs and make sure you are on the list. Then they put you in a room until your section is called. We had the best time at the Wendy Show. We flew in the day before to ensure we could get in line bright and early the day of the show. We were like the 20th and 21st ppl in line at 6:40am. The studio was easy to find and near Penn Station. We stood in line for about and 1hr and 20 minutes. The staff was prompt and professional (the security guys are a hoot). Once they let us in, we were lined up and ushered into a waiting room with coffee and chairs (wear flats and bring cute shoes to change in). They had us all submit questions to ask Wendy. So my friend submitted one that got picked for the show! So we got picked out of the waiting room and seated first. The studio is so much more smaller than it looks on TV. The staff again was prompt and lots of fun. The hype man and DJ had us full of energy and made the experience like a party! Wendy was excellent as always and really made you feel like you were her co-host. Can't wait to come back and do it again. read more

Rave reviews by some of the studio audience members. The waiting process was okay. I didn't enjoy the part where we go inside and the dj starts picking on people. Granted my friend and I were the only asians inside that doesn't mean we should be racially targeted or subjected to racial remarks. The hypeman said, "oh are you Chinese?" Excuse me, but not all asians are Chinese. Anyways, we say "no, Korean." He says, "oh, play Gangnam Style to the dj." I was like "what?? How racist!!??" He said, "oh, she thinks this is racist." Hell yea it is! Would he like going to an Asian show and be singled out for his race and be played an ethnic song which doesn't reflect who you are?? Make you dance to the song too?? Excellent experience. Went on the day of my mother's 65th birthday and had an amazing time. Submitted the ticket request as soon as the date opened, website wasn't receiving my request, so I sent an email. Didn't hear anything for about 4 weeks and started to get nervous, but got a call confirming tickets the week before the show. Called right away to RSVP. Never did get an emailed ticket. Even checked spam, but no luck. We were super late to the line. Instructions said to be there BY 8 o'clock. I dropped my mom off at 7:58AM and after parking, I didn't get in line until 8:05AM. Our names were on the list, but I almost didn't get in because of our tardiness. Heads up people, BE EARLY!!! Once inside the rope, you go down a ramp and through security (metal detector and bag check) You are then ushered into a waiting room where there are bathrooms, mirrors, and a water/coffee station. You are offered sheets to fill out questions for the "Ask Wendy" portion. The show itself is fun and engaging. Once you get into the studio, there is space under the chairs for your stuff (hot iron, makeup, etc.) The hype guy and DJ are fun. Wendy is WENDY and exactly like you see her on the show. No time for autographs, but they do let you take pictures. You're out around noon, plenty of time to make it home and watch yourself on TV. Highly recommend. read more

This was my second time visiting the wendy show. I decided to bring my mother along for this taping because she loves Wendy as well and I wanted to show her a good time. Wendy's show is always a ball of fun thanks to her hype man and DJ who make the whole time you're there feel like a party. It's also really cool to witness the behind the scenes that goes into making a daytime tv show. Here's where the show goes wrong: the security staff! These guys act like they are working for President Obama the way they grill you and flaunt their egos. I was really taken aback at some of the treatment audience members received by these men. I constantly heard belittling comments and insults thrown at women. One guy goes,"Bring all of the rest of the lazy people out" and another one said to a woman in front of me who was being called in another direction by another staff member "You're not running the show here, I am." Guys you're working for Wendy Williams. Not the Queen, not the Obamas, not royalty, Wendy freakin Williams. I did not like the security staff at all. We were treated more like cattle before the show than people. She needa to fix her staff because without an audience there is no show! Also the studio is so freaking cold I thought I had frost bite afterwards. Be prepared to freeze your butt off for the 2 hours you're there. Really had so much fun here! As all the other reviews said the hype man Marco was the best! He was really full of energy and lots of fun! Wendy is okay. She seems very distracted in person but her staff is the BEST!!! All of them are actually really really great! Like that was the best part of the entire experience!! I really love that they make it so much fun and keep the audience up beat and excited passing out fun gifts and having cute little competitions in between filming! The cons are your probably going to be there for a while so try to eat before you come! Nice thing is they give you snacks and water but if your gonna be there for 3 hours your stomach can really start to growl! It's a lot of fun and a good experience which for me I only need to experience once lol but I will say the best part of it all is being entertained by the staff and hype man! read more

Its Wendy, she gets all 5 stars every chance I get. My bestie gifted me with tickets to a show as a complete surprise. We went back and forth over what to wear and I'm gald we did b/c the audience really does dress to impress. So we reserved parking the night before at a lot directly across the street so that was super convenient considering the heels were high. We arrived around 7:45am and the line had been started but not to long, by 815 it was Very long, we waited outside and watched all the fancy behind the scene, and special guests arrive and then we got inside ( after a security check) We then sat inside a basement type room as they asked you to write down any ask Wendys you may have, gave out birthday crowns ( if you didnt have one) and there was coffee with trimmings along with restrooms. This seems to be where the interns are booked and busy they were very helpful and cool. You are then lined up by ticket, walk to the elevator and head into the studio which is seems smaller in person, I guess since watching it on TV you expect it to be huge but it call it a Big Beautiful Production, there was no corner cut with regards to technology and showmanship ! Wendy came out and looked beautiful in person, she interacted with the crowd, the music was great and the energy was good also. We left at about 11:30am and went on about our day. Where do I start?!!! Amazing experience, it is definitely as fun as it looks on the show! My tip is DRESS TO IMPRESS and arrive EARLY! I Showed up at the time my instructions told me to but all the seats in the audience were already taken. Mind you, I drove all the way from VA just for the show. So, I spoke to a producer outside and I believe a few other staffers saw my outfit and wanted me in the door. I have to say was extremely impressed that things run like a well oiled machine and everything is SO on point. From the Security, to the producers, to the interns. Everyone was extremely professional and ALL very impressive. When you get to the door you will be handed a ticket with a letter on it, that tells the staffers who they want in what sections for the production. Dress to impress if you want to be featured, you are judged AT THE DOOR. Long story short I ended up in the FRONT ROW, I stood next to Wendy during the concert segment AND I got to do a 1 on 1 game show segment with her!!! I will definitely be going back this fall because it is guaranteed to be a good time. I immediately started tracking how to get tickets to the Wendy Williams Show, and after monitoring the site for a few months waiting for ticket availability, I sent in the application including a photo and a write-up to gain entry. I was elated when an email arrived as confirmation of 4 coveted tickets! We started planning our outfits for the show and the excitement grew! Despite arriving this morning by the time stated on the email instructions, to our dismay we and a drove of others who were promised ticket reservations were turned away from the show. After trekking through the rain in heels, and traveling all the way from Kentucky, Tennessee, and Michigan, me and my girls were sadly disappointed as show staff offered no consolation for the snafu. Instead they argued that the email stated this may happen. It should be explicitly stated beforehand that the show is overbooked and you should arrive an hour in advance of the recommended arrival time so that no one else is subjected to such a misadventure. HOW YOU DOIN? Going to a live taping of any show is an awesome experience- but a Wendy Show? It's a totally different world. Get ready to dance, clap and have a good time. Of course, before you get to the fun- be prepared to wait. Wait in line outside, wait in a holding room in the basement, wait for Wendy to come out. Butttt it's totally worth it. Here's a few additional tips: - You can bring a bag or backpack- it just has to fit under your chair. - Get there early if you want to sit in the front. - Be prepared to stand outside, so wear some fashionable, yet comfortable shoes. - The dress code is not nearly as strict as the email entails. - Bring a sweater, it gets cold in there! - Practice your reactions & get ready to CLAP! - There is a bathroom you can use in the holding room, but you won't have access to it during or after the show. First of all... OMG!!!!! It's the day after I went to the show (2/27/17) and I'm still star struck! I really don't know where to start... if your a huge Wendy fan like myself (how you doin!) then going to her show at least once will be worth your while. Let me give it to you straight with no chaser... First of all YES you need to get there early. I arrived at 7:30am and was number 55 on my ticket. I've read through all the reviews on yelp... and I don't understand why people are complaining about the security. YES, they aren't so "friendly" but that's because they are doing their job! Wendy is a woman that needs protection. She definitely has an amazing staff inside and out. Before the show I was approached twice! By her staff to be on the show for modeling or "ask Wendy" but I was too shy to ask anything personal. It made me feel really good and even more excited to be a part of something I watch every single day. My boyfriend and I both agree that she is so beautiful in person, like a doll. Suzanne, Marco, Norman and all of her staff were so nice and truly uplifted the energy. During one of the commercial breaks Wendy came down my isle, (I was seated at the end of the row) and omg omg omg she started dancing with me! So of course I was like how you doin! She was so nice and in her element. After she asked me where I lived and if I dragged my boyfriend there... then, the cameras were rolling. So at this point I'm having a heart attack and then... all of a sudden... on live television... she told the world "she's from Long Island and dragged him here" etc. !!!!!!!!! Came here a few months ago for an early morning taping of the show. Never set foot in any type of live TV taping before, was super excited to do this. Email sent from the show said to line up in front of the studio 15 minutes prior to 8am. By the time I got there the line was almost a block long. There are security guards at the entrance doing bag checks and just chitchating with audience members, but every few minutes they're yelling out at the line with rude comments about people waiting to go in. Once inside there is another waiting area, the small room is cramped and hot. Interns hand out papers and pencils for "questions to ask Wendy"- topics are relationship, sex, or friendship. I wrote "Does Wendy Yelp?" Almost an hour had passed stuck inside that holding room, batches of audiences members are lead to a freight elevator as we're instructed to line up one by one behind each other. Finally got to the studio, interns directs you to a seat (the flashier you dress the more camera spot you get). Once everyone is seated there is a DJ and a MC to hype up the crowd. MC said audience have a chance to win a cash gift card, as long as you go up the stage and give your best twerk and booty shake. Glad someone else won the prize. Production and crew comes out to introduce themselves, and finally Wendy comes out of those purple velvet door. She waves and smile at the audience and goes straight to her hot topic. Camera and teleprompter is right up in her face. Live audiences can't really see her too well. We all rely mainly from the TV from the wall. Producer signal us to applause and make Ooh, ahh noises. You know...we husbands have to do what we have to do in order to keep our wives happy. Like the slogan, "Happy wife...happy live". So of course I had to take my wife to a taping of the Wendy Williams show. This was the 2nd attempt. The first time was a bust for my wife since her sisters took too long to get ready. So this time..I had to go with her just to make sure that this event happened for her. The long was crazy long when we got there. We got there an hour before the last time they said they would accept guests. We were so lucky that we got in since the people behind us were told to come back another time. Whew!! They were so upset since they got all dressed up for Wendy and spent $$$$ to get there. When we had entered the building..we all had to wait in this big room. Here I thought they would feed us some sort of pastry/fruits etc. Nooooooooo they had one vending machine and not enough chairs. Once we were seated...the "Hype man" did his thing to entertain the audience. Why oh why did he have to pick on me? There were about 5 other bald men in the audience to make fun of. Puffy Daddy was on the couch talking about his "Bad Boy" film and family. I actually thought..since he's rich..that we would leave with some Ciroc. Noooooooooo no ciroc. I did the whole "How u Doin" with my wife in front of Wendy Williams and didn't get some sort of party gift! I was so disappointed. My wife had a good time though. If you're a fan of Wendy, you'll absolutely love the experience. Expect to stand in a line for about an hour...although we lucked up and pretty much walked right on in; having arrived at 8:30am. We had priority tickets. My impression of the security staff was that they run a well-oiled machine. They do what they do with efficiency...And I found them to be pleasant. The only down side was the crowded waiting room and bathroom. The staff has a method to seating you...I'm not sure what it is, but I'm guessing it's based on clothing color and maybe sex. With that said, the last person in line has a shot sitting in the front row. Regardless of where you sit, you'll likely be on tv. I had a great spot in the middle. The studio was cold, but the DJ and hype man, Marco, got things heated up. Before the show began, we clapped, danced, and clapped some more...There was even a dance off! The energy was amazing! Naomi Campbell was the guest on our visit, and I found her to be quite charming. Wendy was really nice! Wendy engaged the audience during breaks...even asking some people about their clothes. She looks the same in-person as she does on tv. I will definitely return. read more

Warning: this is going to be long. I found that reading the reviews prepared me for a lot however I would like to offer my take on the experience. Got in line about 40 minutes before instructed ( no need to arrive hours in advance. That has nothing to do with where you are seated so save your feet. I do encourage that you eat something light before, don't step out of line and arrive with your party. While in line you will get forms to fill out, you'll sign in and get a Wendy card (means you are accounted for) Go through security and then the holding tank. Lots of people not enough chairs. Two bathrooms and a place to take selfie with an image of Wendy. This is where you should change your shoes and freshen up. Escorted to the elevator.... Expect to be piled in. It's totally safe and nothing wrong with it... Sometimes you have to be uncomfortable and do you want to climb 6 flight of stairs in your 5 inch heels? I didn't think so. Studio is chilly.. Ok cold but not unbearable. Don't wear sleeveless if cold bothers you. The music is bumping and all you need is a little flask or a nip bottle cuz it's no different from the club the hype man is perfect for this gig. Personality for days and not bad to look at. Susan, adorable. During the pre show the DJ will play little tricks on you so they can tape crowd reaction like: You "may" win a vacation, you "may" win prizes- listen to the legal implication of the words before you get disappointed or say (they lied to you) It was fun seeing everyone who appears on the after show. Then the doors open and here's Wendy. I have to confess I teared up! She was everything! Beautiful, thin, styled, face beat and wig fried... Loved it! Pam Anderson was the guest and she was a doll. Here's the Scoop: Celebrating Wendy's 10 years on daytime tv and my sisters birthday. We were fortunate to get tickets and oh boy did we get an awesome gift. We received free tickets to the Escape tour concert and Jermaine Dupree accompanied Escape today. The Escape concert will be at Barclays on Oct. 18th. An Extra surprise was an extra taping was needed and we were asked to be the audience for the review of Tamar Braxton what a treat. Our show was also live. I was able to go home and watch myself on the 4:30 Wendy Williams viewing that day. Fabulous time had by my sister and I. Lots of energy and funny people come to the show so there's lots of entertainment on and off camera. The DJ is on point! We jammed the entire show. Wendy has a great staff who are all welcoming, friendly and guiding you through the whole tv experience. Seats are comfortable but close. The only problems I had were the service elevator because you're literally packed in like sardines to travel up to the studio and the ramp coming into the studio. That ramp is soo steep for wearing pumps and standing on line waiting to be checked in. It's a challenge. Especially since pumps are a part of the dress code. Yesss, there's a dress code. This is a dingy location.. the picture of Wendy Williams in the holding room is held up with peeling gray duct tape.. then we were pushed into a freight elevator.. at least 60 people.. extremely corny.. Wendy stared at her camera NOT her studio audience.. I listened to her on the radio for years and have watched her for past ten years.. definitely disappointed.. Awesome experience! My GF had the time of her life! On the contrary to what other reviews were saying, the security officers were great just doing what they are task to do. They have a matter of fact attitude but very good sense of humor. Just follow instructions and you'll be treated with respect. All the staff have good personality not condescending. And of course Wendy, Wendy was great! She made time to chat with the audience, down to earth person. She might be a little rushed with audience interaction but shes got work to do like every other person. FYI Studio was freezing cold to prevent lights from overheating, make sure you are prepared. read more

I requested tickets 4 weeks prior to the show date and received notice of tickets 2 weeks ahead of time. Entrance isn't guaranteed because I think they give out more tickets than spots (in case of no shows). Get there early! We arrive an hour before entrance time and were numbers 84 and 85 in line. Going through security sucked. There was 1 person checking bags and another facilitating the metal detector. We were then led to an awful holding area. It was in what appeared to be a basement with a bad paint job and also a bit smelly. There weren't enough seats for everyone either. We were all forced to fill out a sheet to ask Wendy questions. Those who didn't have questions were told they had to participate. For what? Why waste our time? They then collected the sheets and called like 25-30 people back to discuss further. If there are only 3 spots to ask Wendy a question, why do they waste so much time talking to all of those people? When we finally got to the studio, the music was extremely loud and it was freezing in there. A very funny and entertaining hype-man prepared us for taping. The show was expected with hot topics, followed by a special guest. During commercial breaks, Wendy did not interact much with the crowd. I guess that's what the hype-man was for. After the show, they said we can snap a selfie with Wendy when she walked up behind us. She literally only walked on the front row?!? Out of all the tapings I attended, Wendy Williams was the worst experience. The show was great, but everything leading up to that point was not. I will continue watching on tv but wouldn't do another live taping. read more

I'm only writing a review because of the security staff. From the older man in the front of the metal detectors to the tall bald man leading to studio. Rude, spoke roughly to the audience members and sarcastic remarks fell flat. It was the only thing I could say I could have done without. They just killed the mood a little, no one was out of line, just excited to be there. They seemed jaded and over it.. DJ, Hype man, Christine, all the staff and Wendy were a delight. She's just gorgeous and entertaining in person and I can't wait to visit again. Just don't let the security's attitudes ruin it, it's worth the wait and bad elevator jokes read more

I'm not a huge fan of Wendy Williams, but my best friend is and wanted to see Wendy for her birthday. We both submitted for tickets and got the email. It suggested we arrive no later than 8AM. Due subway delays, we arrived at 8:06 and received the LAST 4 TICKETS. There were several people who arrived after us and were turned away. Upon entering, the green room was not very appealing, so my hopes weren't very high for the studio. We entered the studio and it was beautiful! My favorite part was before the show started and during the breaks. Marco Glorious, her MC, was amazing. If I return to NY, I will definitely go back to her show. Very entertaining and a great way to end my trip. read more

How you doin??? The is was in my bucket list and I had a blast. We had tickets for an afternoon show on Thursday, to be aired on Friday. While in line, a few of the security men were not nice and rude. However, the other Wendy staffers were sweet and so much fun. I was #2 for Ask Wendy but they ran out of time. I still had a great experience. Wendy is beautiful and so skinny! I just have to write about the show last week. I don't know how Wendy and people around her can laugh and make fun with someone who had cleft lip. There are so many people from different ages who have that problem and no one it's in the tittle to make fun. When she and the audience were laughing I was in my tears, I said, it is impossible what is going on ... so embarrassing... the show should not build in a hate or making fun of people like Joaquin or Kelly who deserves respect or the others out there. I had a great time last year at one of Wendy's tapings. My boyfriend surprised me as part of my birthday since I had been talking about it forever, and it was a cool experience. Now, I will say... the set up going into the studio (a sketchy-looking garage type of deal) was very suspect, but it's New York and that's what you get here. Once checked and inside, it is a small,cramped waiting area before being let into the "elevators". (During the wait time, people are chosen for "ask wendy" and other audience segments. You're let on the elevators by priority and because I was granted a front row seat, I was able to get on the first flight up and to the studio. They have strict rules you need to abide by, which is understandable, but they try to make it as fun as possible while you're waiting in the studio & during commercial breaks. Wendy does make her way around to everyone and I was able to snap some close-up selfies w/ her. It was a very entertaining event and super cool to see all of the behind the scenes action. ALSO, who doesn't love to see themselves on tv?? *****Also, they are very clear about the fact that they overbook in order to ensure the audience is full. read more

I watch Wendy everyday so I was excited when I found out that I got tickets to visit the show. I got to the studio two hours early and was in the front of the line. When it was time for the doors to open, someone passed out the tickets. Mine said F for front row. When the gate opened up, we walked in and had to go through a security check. It was quick and simple. We walked into a waiting room where they provided cold water. A bathroom was there so make sure you use it! An intern passed out forms to fill out and you are encourage to write a question for Ask Wendy. The security called the people with front row tickets in and we were seated. I had an aisle seat so Wendy walked by me a few times. The music was loud but upbeat before the show and the hype man was very energetic. The show started and Wendy was awesome!! She was really nice and talked to a lot of the audience members. She even danced with some. I had a great time and would go again! The one downside of this experience is that the security guards are very sarcastic and rude. They made some tasteless jokes and make me feel uncomfortable while waiting on line. I recently attended a taping of the Wendy Williams Show. I arrived at 8:15AM for the 10:00AM taping, and I was the 115th audience member to arrive. I stood in line outside for approximately 20 minutes and received a ticket from a Wendy staff member, with the letter L on it. I asked the member of staff what was the meaning behind the letter. She indicated they only use the letter so they know how to call us in groups when it's time to go into the studio. I believe it has more meaning behind it, but I can only go by what they say. I sat in the front row - so maybe the L stands for lower. While in the line outside, a staff member provides every audience member with a consent form to complete and submit. On this form, they ask you for the last 4 digits of your SSN number, your signature, your full name, address and telephone number. We eventually walked through security, where we placed our bags on a table and they were searched by a security guard. Additionally, we had to walk through a scanner - basically the same operation as TSA at the Airport. After the security check point, they ushered us into a very big A/C room filled with chairs facing each other. Walk with a jacket, the room was very cold. We sat here for quite sometime - more than an hour for sure. The room was very noisy (as is expected, since it was filled with women). There is a vending machine in the room with snacks for a fee. There is also free coffee. There was a bathroom in the room along with a booth where you could take a selfie with a photo of Wendy. There is also a TV in the room which was placed on FOX5, but it could not be heard over the chatter. While in this room, Ask Wendy forms were distributed and we were told it was mandatory to fill them out. On the from, they also ask you if you had a birthday recently, state/country you're from etc. At 8:45AM, they called about 15 names for Ask Wendy and took them in a back room. If you're going to the Show by yourself, this part of the process maybe a bit awkward for you (having to sit for such a long time with no one to talk to, and being seated facing a bunch of other women). I was there by myself and I did not enjoy this part one bit. I mean, there is always the opportunity to try to make friends...but I noticed this wasn't the case with those who came alone. I highly recommend going with at least 1 friend. By 9:00 AM I was very restless and bored, since the wait was pretty long. This would be expected though, since the show starts at 10:00AM, so prep work would require us to attend extra early. I cannot remember the time, but they called everyone by the letter they were grouped by. L was called first so we got up and stood in a line. We all then stood in a very big elevator, in 4 long lines facing the front ..that part was an interesting experience, lol. When we got in the studio Suzanne and the guy (Marco I believe?), prepped us on how to cheer, how to say our oos, ahhs and how you doing? Lol.
