Lots of fun. Free tix at 1iota.com you sign up on their calendar and wait for email to attend. I signed up 1 week ahead and got email in am of show. The show was great and we got out after 2 hours. Worthwhile if you are in nyc .

Best experience ever the staff at The Late Show with Stephen Colbert are amazing. We booked our tickets the month before our show. Then showed up at the advised time. Once you check in then you are waiting for the doors to open. The usher's guide you to your seat and pro tip try to get balcony seating to see the dome in the ceiling. The taping took about 2.5 hours but it went by quickly. I cannot wait to go again!

We got there around 3:30pm, with priority seats so guaranteed seats, but everyone in general line got in too. Good show, cool to see it in person. Colbert is funny and engaging. The band started playing around 5:30pm. Ended around 7pm and the studio was too loud so didn't hear his final words and he didn't talk to us post-show or anything.

5/5! We have been to this show twice now, as well as attending the ones for Seth Myers and Jimmy Fallon. And although we love all of the show contents of each really well, there's just something special about the location and the theater atmosphere - combine that with really helpful staff and an awesome cast and host, it's hard to beat! Go if you can, and enjoy the experience!

Only go if you have four hours to spare. Get your tickets on 1iota.com. I will say that it's a lot waiting in line. We arrived at 2:45 and there was a line already. At 3:30 they let us in only to wait another hour to get seated. They did give you time to go to the bathroom while you wait. We were seated at 5sh. They opener was hilarious. He does randomly pick people out of the audience to go up on stage. Then they do a a few minutes with the band prior to the Q&A with Colbert. He comes out and takes a few questions from the audience. You can ask whatever you want. The taping of the show is so interesting. The experience was definitely worth the wait. It is cold in there. Take a sweater.

Had a great time at a taping of the Late Show with Stephen Colbert! We got tickets a month prior through 1iota and were assigned priority tickets. We were able to get into line before the general ticket holders and we got pretty good seats in the mezzanine. All the workers were very kind and they handled the crowds well. Before the show, a comedian came out and entertained us for 30-45 mins with audience participation which was super fun. Then Stephen came out and said hello and did a quick Q&A which was so cool. The show was so fun to watch! Stephen is hilarious and really carried the show since the guests he had that day weren't the most entertaining. A very fun experience! Especially for free!

Excited to attend the Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Using 1iota website for free tickets, I was given priority tickets. I arrived at 4:00 to wait in line for about an hour after checking in with license and COVID card. At about 5:00 we were ushered inside the iconic Ed Sullivan theater. I sat in the front of the balcony section. The warm up comedian came out and gave us some laughs. Then Stephen came out for his monologue and show. He was funny and entertaining. The guests were ABC news Johnathan Karl and actor BJ Novak. I was disappointed that Stay Human band leader Jon Batiste was on vacation but St. Vincent was there and she was great. She is so cool and talented. I really enjoyed the experience.

Yelp was very helpful when it came time to plan our outing to the show. After waiting a long time for tickets, we were notified that dates had opened up. With only a week's notice at hand, proper planning was crucial. We confirmed our "priority" tickets, and scrambled to find reasonably priced lodging. Since the whole trip was centered around this show, I did not want it to backfire, and read up on what to expect as an audience member. Waiting is definitely a huge component to the pre- show operations. It's ok, though, because you know a good time is in store. People- watching sure helped to pass the time while waiting in line outside this iconic theater. The show has a team of expert line organizers, so it is set up to have everyone move in an orderly fashion. It's a relaxed environment, but they mean business when given your instructions as a studio audience member. The whole experience lasted approximately 4 hours and 45 minutes. Every aspect of the show was worth the time invested. The opening comedian and his hilarious interactions with the audience set the tone. Stephen, his guests that night, and Jon Batiste and band performed flawlessly. So much so, that it almost appeared taped vs being a live show. So glad to have this opportunity to be part of the taping and visit this beautiful theater.

I had such a great experience here. One of the things I wanted to do in New York was see a show. But me and my boyfriend cannot stand broadway shows. We love comedy and we are into politics. So... scored free VIP tickets and were super excited. The hour wait felt pretty quick and the staff was pretty awesome about amping us up outside. Once we got in we got pretty awesome middle seats. It really couldn't have been better. I love that Colbert's opener was a comedian. He was very funny and also very good about getting us ready to see Colbert. The band was also really amazing as well. When Stephen came out he was so nice to everyone. I've been to many tapings since we are from the Los Angeles area and he was probably the most interactive and nicest host I have ever seen. And he did this was he wasn't being taped. He answered guests questions and even sang for us. It was amazing to see how quick and witty he was. The was great with all the guests and the best part was we got to see a surprise additional host, Robert De Niro!!! It was an epic night with lots of laughs and so much fun. I highly recommend if you get the chance.

I had tickets to the inauguration show a few years ago and we were not able to get in due to the circumstances of the election. But boy did they make up for it by letting me into the priority line for the 1st show back after covid! I don't know if it was this exciting before the lockdown, but let me tell you this was one of the best in person audience experiences I've ever had! The warm up comedian was excellent, definitely Broadway quality, the band was spectacular bringing back memories of New Orleans Frenchman Street with a sprinkles of Bourbon Street and impromptu Second Lines emerging. The musical selections were so appropriate for the energy of the Room and the exciting return of a late night show that kept us all going during the past year and a 1/2. They were even expanded out at the end of the show with the choir and full horn section to play one of John Baptiste's new songs!! I recognised and appreciated all of the cultural nuances that I experienced as a Southerner. Absolutely fantastic! I've been to my share of shows and this tops all of them by far! Everyone in the building was on the same level of excitement and joy To be there. I will definitely try to get tickets again because it was the best night ever!

But here's my number so Colbert Maybe?
    Fox E.

Hey I just met you And I'm on TV But here's my number So Colbert maybe? The man Steven gets 5 Stars. He's brilliant and his politics are spot-on and I love him and I love everything he does. Waiting for his show, or rather the taping of a show, is more like a three-star. Tourist experience yes. Worth it... meh. I'm not obsessed with TV though, at all. If you are, maybe you'll dig it. Me, I've been on Fox TV in various places (singing) so. The show itself is like a four. He's very funny but they have definitely watered him down for the prime time. That's the opposite of what they should have done. They should have given him the full-on platform and the freedom of expression he deserves and we all do. This country is so controlled and so brainwashed and so not free it's not even funny and I bet if Steven wasn't on The Late Show he would agree with me publicly. Alt: On the one hand this is one of the best shows there is but on the other hand they have really sanitized him to a very disappointing degree. When he was on The Daily Show he was really rocking it. He could say a lot of what he wanted to. Now it's way more watered down for a generic American audience and that's a damn shame because why should American audiences be spared from truth and opinion. It's America. Supposedly. Anyway there's a long wait time to be part of the crowd for this one so you have to be really dedicated to get the most out of it.

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - The Late Show with Stephen Colbert

Hello everyone and anyone: I'm on the Colbert waiting list, through 1iota. What will, or won't, happen next?

If you're lucky you'll get off the waitlist! I was on the wait list for 3 different days and got off the waitlist for 1 of those days. They will email you saying the status of your request has been changed from waitlist to available. They will then…

My ticket says Stephen Colbert is not featured. I have a Friday show. Does this mean he has a guest host?

While you can't be sure that sure what it sounds like to me.

If you come in with a large backpack, are there lockers for you to put it in? Is there an extra fee for this?

No. The show ticket info page specifically says not to bring large backpacks or large tote bags. They won't let you in.

I would love to go to a Stephen colbert taping but I have theatre tickets at 7pm 5 minutes away from the studio. No chance or is it possible to make it somehow?

No chance. I just checked the time we were leaving the Ed Sullivan theatre, and it was 7:17pm, when we were just starting to leave the theatre. You can't leave the taping…

I reserved tickets for my mom and sister. I can't change my member name but will they be able to redeem the tickets without me? Or do I have to be there to help them get the tickets?

If your name is on the ticket, YOU need to be there.

What time did you leave the theater after the taping?

We were there for a Monday taping that was done by 7.20pm.

If you bring luggage, is there a place there (or nearby) to leave it during taping?

    No

Is it really freezing cold in the studio?

It kind of is. I would definitely bring a jacket. My dad didn't bring a jacket when I told him he should bring one and he ended up regreting not bringing one. I hope this helps!

Check in starts at 3pm. People are saying to show up around 12. Is that true?

Hi Karen, for the first taping on the day they shoot 2 shows, (Thursday) the line does start forming at Noon. You don't need to get in line at noon unless you want to be sure you are seated downstairs and close to the stage. Definitely be in line…

If my tickets say that the check-in deadline is at 5:00 pm, at what time should I be there the latest in order to get in for sure?

We arrived about 35 minutes ahead of the check-in deadline and were about 15 people deep in line. This was for a Thursday taping. I would recommend being there at least 30 minutes ahead.

We take a yearly trip to NYC, so he always signs up. This year, we scored and got tickets. We actually signed up for two days and got into both. Mon had the better guest lists (at least in our opinion) so we gave up the other tix. It's a process to get in, so nothing too surprising. The earlier you get there, the more of a chance you will sit closer. All in all, we were out by around 6:30pm. Tho they did add a game that was going to air on a another day with I believe the One Piece cast? A good experience if you are into talk shows. It's free, and we got a jar of carbone sauce due to mario carbone being a guest. What's there to complain about? REVIEW #4000

This was a fine experience. I'm not really a Fallon fan but the experience of watching a 'live to…read moretape' recording was pretty interested. We didn't have tickets, so we went to the gift shop at 30 rock through the 6th ave entrance to score some stand-by tickets. We arrived what I would call late, at about 11am. If you want to get these stand-by tickets I'd recommend arriving as close to 8am as you can, because every ticket is numbered and they can only fit so many people into the studio (they will always try to fill it). If I recall correctly the tickets said to come back to 30 rock at 3:15 but note - if you arrive a bit later, say 3:30, it won't effect your chances of getting in - the most you can do to increase your chances to see a show that day by walking in is to get there at 8am when they first start giving out the numbered stand-by tickets. Also, while they say you cant bring in bags, I had a smaller sized north face backpack and my friend had a large plastic bag and a small purse. If your number gets you in to see the show that day, you will pass through security like at an airport. Everything is extremely orderly and organized, the only stressful part is 'am I going to get in to see the show or did I just spend an hour and a half of my day for nothing.' My friend and I just got in under the wire, with the guy behind us being the very last person to stand-by for this day's show (there were about 56 stand-by visitors accepted that day). You will have an opportunity to use a bathroom before you sit for the filming, so don't be concerned about that. If you're a fan of TV or of Fallon you might prepare a question or two to ask him, he took a number of questions from the audience. The funniest one was 'are you going to use that entire bit you just did' because Jimmy and Drew Brees spitting pumpkin seeds went on far, far, FAR too long, about 3? minutes, which was about 2:45 longer than it needed to be. Jimmy was quick with the 'no, that's going to be edited down.'

I WANT MY MTV!!!!!!! The early 80s+ anthem!…read more The "I want my MTV" campaign included ads where rock stars such as Pete Townsend and the Police would say "I want my MTV," endorsing the channel. Music Television officially launched on 8-1-1981, airing music videos and related programs hosted by video jockeys, or VJs. Martha Quinn, the "girl next door" VJ still hosts a daily show on Sirius XM Radio's "The 80s on 8" station. MTV dominated pop culture in the 80s! The first words when MTV initially aired were spoken by one of MTV's creators, John Lack: "Ladies and gentlemen, rock and roll." A nod, perhaps, to the iconic, legendary Lemmy Kilmister's opening of every Motorhead show with, "We are Motorhead...And We play rock and roll!" Because of MTV, I threw teenage caution to the wind and paid for my family's cable television! This was a serious commitment in 1981. My favorite artists' videos at that time were Stevie Nicks, Billy Idol, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, the Police, Ratt (who's autograph I got when they came to Huntsville), U2, ZZ Top, and of course Van Halen (in the David Lee Roth or "Diamond Dave") days! Who can forget the iconic moment Courtney Cox was pulled onstage in the Bruce Springsteen video, "Dancing in the Dark?!" That was an adorable moment and probably a game-changer for her pending generations-long acting career! Stand out videos were Michael Jackson's "Thriller," "Billie Jean," and "Beat it"(all in 1983); "1999" by Prince in 1983; and Whitesnake's "Here I Go Again" featuring Tawny Kitaen in 1987. We were all glued to MTV on July 13, 1985, when MTV showed the Live Aid concerts (broadcasting 16 hours of coverage,) held in London and Philadelphia and organized by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to raise funds for famine relief in Ethiopia. The 1983 US Festival from 5/28/83-5/30/83 featured Van Halen who headlined on "Heavy Metal Day." To experience VH, my crew and I rented a hotel room (Kings Inn, S. Memorial Parkway, Huntsville - still there to this day); rounded up our 110 cameras, stocked up on fast food takeout, filled the bathtub with ice and cold bottled of Busch, and settled in to watch the show on the room's cable TV and enjoy the swimming pool. ((Good times!!)) Other than a few interesting videos in the 90s, MTV pretty much died for me in the 80s. It was a great ride, though! Thank you MTV!
