I usually don't leave negative reviews, but this experience honestly didn't sit right with me. Upon arrival, the front desk staff made us feel judged. We were dressed in sweats and cozy clothes (we're from California and not used to the cold), while others around us were dressed more formally. I understand this is considered a "nicer" hotel, but that shouldn't affect how guests are treated. What really stood out was when I asked a simple question about how long it takes to get the deposit back on a credit card. One of the front desk employees jumped in and said it depends on the card, usually 7-14 days--but then specifically mentioned that if it's a Cash App card, it would "definitely" take 14 days. The way it was said felt very assumptive and unprofessional. I work in sales/finance, so that comment didn't sit right with me. When I clarified that we were using Navy Federal, his tone immediately changed and became much more respectful. That shift alone was very telling. As for the room itself, it did not meet expectations for a hotel that presents itself as high-end. * All four cups in the room were dirty with visible residue and streaks * The bedding had multiple stains, some immediately visible and others noticeable under lighting * The couch had strange stains on it as well * When we pulled out the sofa bed, there was someone else's old medicine wrapper underneath, which made it very clear the room was not properly cleaned * One of the lamps was broken * The sink/faucet had heavy buildup and grime that looked unsanitary (as shown in the photos) The level of cleanliness was honestly unacceptable. I didn't complain during the stay since it was only one night, but it's something future guests should be aware of. The only positives were how quick check-in was and how easy it was to book (we booked through Airbnb, which may also have contributed to how we were perceived). I am a Marriott bonvoy and I can't remember a hotel that was so dirty, and service was terrible. First of all they wouldn't let me check until 4pm on the dot. I noticed a lot of dogs and when I got to the room, the room had a foul smell. I didn't change cuz I would be spending that much time in the room. But later in the stay I noticed it I my nasal passages when I was going to sleep and my clothes smelled of a kennel. A woman brought a dog to the buffet line with dog in one hand and a plate in the other. The wait staff stopped her still probably dropped a few dog hairs in the buffet. I will never stay here again. When I said something to the lady at Che k out she said they were only on the 3rd floor when that was a lie. I stayed on the second floor and 2 dogs were barking and crying off and on. Literally next door and accross the way. The stench in the restaurant was a mix of dirty rags and heavy chemicals, either cleaning or covering the other smells. read more

If this Marriott had a mascot it would be a pile of dirt shrugging with a "meh" bubble above its head. The cost is right but you're just paying for the bed, nothing there really looks and works as it should. I had issues here from the moment I tried to check in and they said I didn't have a reservation right through leaving the room a few days later. Elevators that didn't work, freezing cold dirty pool, non responsive desk staff, in room climate control that really didn't work how it needed to, the list goes on. If you're fond of having to ask someone for something 3 or 4 times before they acknowledge you and try the littlest bit to help, then go for this place. If you just need a room on the cheap and you have no need to interact with anyone or expect anything you'd normally get at a Marriott property then this is your place. Have at it. read more

I've been living at this hotel for more than a month so that I can care for a sick relative nearby. I highly recommend it. Here's the good: clean rooms and common areas, having a suite is a big advantage when you have two people on different sleep schedules, the gym is much bigger and nicer than a traditional hotel gym, the pool is nice and well cared for, there is a restaurant and room service. The not so good: I learned the hard way that there's no available food for lunch on weekends and nothing available within walking distance and some of the elliptical machines in the gym are broken (but I've never had trouble finding one that works). read more

Checked in using the app, but didn't get a notice that the room was ready.... so was hoping to get an early check-in, came to the hotel around 3pm. I checked in with the staff at the counter and was told that rooms are still being cleaned and should be released soon. So I asked if I could use the fitness while I waited and they had no issue with that. Their gym was nice, had all the standard equipment, but more. Had free weights, leg press, etc. Got a message during the workout that the room was ready, so finished my workout and grabbed the room. The room was nice, living room was wide and open, the bedroom could been bit bigger, but it worked. The bathroom was nice as well. After a careful review of the room, here are few things that I would recommend that they upgrade - the fridge - the one in the room looked like it was from the 70s. You can tell it's old and when you open it, you'll see the age of the machine, lot of yellow spots lol. - stained cushion - there spots of stains, not sure what it was but they should replace the cover - They could add a light inside the shower, bit dark inside. - The coffee holder box - very dirty, should get rid of it. - bottled waters - I get some are free, but I always wondered how long they actually sit around in the room? - the clock - I used to have it back in the 90's lol I also saw some damage in the bedroom - the strips around the wall were falling apart. Overall, had a decent stay. The room was bit dated, they should consider renovating the place. Staff members were nice, definitely would stay here again. read more

We recently stayed at Marriott Suites Deerfield due to strikeforce airport cancellation / delayed problems. It wasn't by choice but we are glad that we had an opportunity to stay there. After long delay with our flight and later realizing our flight was cancelled, we arrived at Marietta Suites Deerfield. We were met by Cindy who had extremely friendly and accommodating with our situation. She made us feel welcome empathized with our situation. Her positive attitude and accommodation won us over to become a loyal customer to your brand. Nani at the bar was helpful with recommending restaurants and sightseeing locations while recommending local drinks at the bar. Once we arrive at our room, we were happy to see a clean room with a king size bed along with a king size Murphy bed with many amenities. We were also impressed with the size of the room. After a much needed restful night, we found the location to be situated between business area surrounded by beautiful ponds and walking area. It's also conveniently located near major attractions and has easy access to public transportation, making it simple to explore the city. Although we found this hotel under negative circumstance, we are glad to find it and will stay again when we visit Chicago. Thank you to the all staff especially Cindy and Nani. read more

My Home away from Home! I live in Atlanta and have to travel frequently to my home office in Northbrook, Il. I started staying here 3 years ago, even after my office moved from a little farther away I continue stay at this location. The staff is what keeps me returning. The housekeeping, front desk and restaurant staffs are always very professional and kind to me. After a few visits they started to recognize me and call me by name. My mother came with me once and they are always asking about her. When you have to be away from home for long periods of time it helps when you find a place to stay where you feel comfortable and safe. The hotel is conveniently located to restaurants and shopping centers. The rooms and grounds are always clean. It's very peaceful especially after a long day in the office. I call this location my home away from home. I met the GM on my last stay 8/11-8/15 and he greeted me with a smile and kind words. Thanks Marriott for always taking such good care of me. read more

Chicago Marriott Suites Deerfield is just an OKAY hotel in the area. It really doesn't live up to the Marriott name if we're being honest. The pool was closed when I arrived, you're right next to the expressway so you will certainly hear an abundance of noise from all of the traffic passing by through your windows, especially during the morning hours. The room was clean and the price was surprisingly low for a Marriott location (maybe the location next to the expressway is why that is)! I probably wouldn't stay again unless it was the only hotel with availability in the area. read more

The lobby is very nice and the check in process was the quickest I've ever experienced! Marriott Suites in Deerfield put us in a room that was run down and not maintained well. The vinyl sofa was stained and dirty. A pane of glass in a door was cracked. So were floor tiles in the bathroom. A shower head wasn't secured to the wall. Lighting was dim. A big spider crawled up the wall as I worked on my laptop. The bed was clean and the hot water in the shower worked fine. The room was fairly quiet. But the lack of maintenance shows that Marriott doesn't care about its guests. . read more

Disgusting. Front desk employees are all very slow. One older gent was typing using ONLY his index finger. But hey! He's using two hands instead of 1. I forgot exactly what time but definitely 11pm on - they lock their front entrance doors. So, you're suppose to pick up their house phone (not sanitized and no sanitizer to be found) in HOPES someone answers but usually they don't answer and will just buzz you in. 2 nights out of 4 I had to knock hard for a lady (looked like she was confidently napping at the front desk) to wake her up so I can be buzzed in. Rooms are outdated, and has stains on their carpet. It gives me this dirty vibe. As if this housekeeping dept. don't really clean. I was itchy every single night when I'm on my bed and nicely tucked in. On the plus side - Parking is free! read more

A really nice hotel at a fair price. Why not 5 stars? It's June of 2021 and Covid restrictions have been lifted almost everywhere, yet this location still has not opened their restaurant and bar. It could be a staffing issue more than anything, but I still have to find them a star for that. Other than that, it's a very modern hotel with nice rooms. Marriott is ALWAYS my go to hotel. This particular one is about 25 min from Great Lakes Naval training base ( I was in town for a navy basic training graduation). Room was gorgeous, clean and quiet. The bartender Randy was fun and a joy to have as a bartender. This particular Marriott has alot of conference attendees but still very quiet. Parking was simple and no charge. I did attend breakfast but did partake om their restaurant menu...food was great. The gym had good equipment so you can get a real good workout in if you need to hit the gym. My apologies for not having pictures If for some reason you need to stay in Deerfield but want to go to Chicago, it's about an hour drive with steady traffic. Enjoy your visit read more

We stayed here in a pinch. Our power was out during a terrible storm. After a long time not traveling much, we figured one night here wouldn't break the bank and would be a nice staycation. It truly was! There are two TVs in the suite, and the one in the living room is huge. The couch is very comfortable too. There are plenty of outlets, but it would be even cooler if the bedside lamp's outlets had USB ports. The bathroom was great - very spacious. The shower could have more water pressure, but it felt very relaxing all the same. Good toiletries too! I liked the bed a lot. The pillows were a bit thin (they don't look that way but feel that way and "deflate" easily). Even so, I had a comfortable night's sleep. I wish that they included wifi for non-members, but you can become a member for free anyway, so I did. The breakfast was advertised as grab-n-go. (Also, there is still no room service.) It was a bit pathetic- white paper bags with one muffin, water, and orange juice, like elementary school. At that point, don't even give us the pretense of a breakfast, since that is pretty sad for a hotel's spread. read more

Check in was easy. All the rooms are suites so it's pretty cool - bath tub, shower area, room, living room, and small kitchenette. The restaurant onsite is pretty good. Breakfast buffet for $17.. for dinner, I ordered the crab crusted tilapia.. the gravy/ sauce was yummy but otherwise found the dish too dry and lacking in salt. Overall, just okay. Staff is amazing. Adrianna was the best host. She answered all of our numerous questions and provided excellent advice for dining. All Covid precautions were followed. Rooms were neat and clean. Patrons were in rooms far, far apart. We were the only family on our floor. Quiet and comfortable. 11/20 only negative was that the pool was closed due to repairs, but with Covid and Chicago being in a lockdown, we would not have swum any. read more

I stayed here for two nights for a business trip. I'm a fan of Marriotts in general, I've always had good experiences; this particular one in Deerfield was no different. The check-in experience was smooth, the woman at the desk was very friendly. Checkout was also seamless - they left my bill of charges underneath my door the morning I left and all I really had to do at checkout was tell the front desk my room number. The room itself was very nice - comfy bed (albeit a little too soft for my personal taste), and a decent amount of room overall. I will say there were some aspects of the room that were a bit dated like the TV, mini-fridge, and counter decor - but it didn't take away from my overall experience. I had breakfast twice at the in-house restaurant; it was a breakfast buffet which had a nice selection - staff was friendly too. Good experience overall - I would stay here again if given the option. read more

My only complaint is that they are not ensuring mask mandates and allowed guests to serve themselves from the buffet, effectively contaminating all the food. My sister and I met with Vivian to inquire about holding out family's reunion here this summer, tour the property, discuss menus, etc. There are several options for meetings/gatherings with or without food, there is an onsite restaurant and bar, and the Hospitality Suites are perfect for the informal check-in, pre-event stuff! I love the decor and stylishness of each suite, the open feel to the common areas, and the spacious bathrooms. We're looking forward to July! read more

Booked a corner room thinking we would have views on two sides. Bad assumption. All we got was a great deal of road noise as a result of a poorly insulated window. The suite had a king size bed which was very comfortable for the two of us. It also contained 2 TVs(only one worked) and 2 telephones (again only one worked). The bathroom had a sink, bathtub and shower. It was supplied with one bar of soap to be shared by the two of us for the sink, tub and shower. It gets better...one bath towel and one wash cloth for the two of us. Also, no maid service. The suite came with a coffee maker but was provided with only one caffeinated pod for the 2 of us. I know hotels/motels are consciously trying to save resources to benefit the envirnment but this was used as an excuse to increase profits. The halls were dark and painted what i believe was a sea foam green. Couldn't wait to leave and will never return. 2 stars because the rooms were large and furnishings comfortable enough. read more

Heribeto is a great server in the restaurant I really appreciate the way he takes care of me. They've got quite a bit of staff in the restaurant which is really great for breakfast. It's a very simple Buffet and it's generally included in the hotel package I highly recommend that you try to get the server named Heribeto to wait on you I actually love staying at this hotel I just wish they had a concierge lounge or an M club so that you could get snacks from late at night read more

We had an excellent stay over Thanksgiving weekend. We were in the area visiting family. The location was ideal to visit family living in the north suburbs, and we could also make it into the city fairly easily by metra or car. The rooms were spacious and worked well for our small family. We had a nice breakfast which was included in our rate each morning. The staff in the restaurant are amazingly efficient and can handle a crowd all while being friendly. We will certainly stay here for future visits to the area. read more

Definitely read the reviews before booking, we get into our room and immediately it smelled like mold (ok whatever) but then we get to the bed and it's still dirty ??? Makeup all over the pillowcases, stains all over the sheets and blankets then go to the bathroom?? Wet towels are all over the bathroom still like they really just gave us a dirty ass room it was disgusting, so my bf KINDLY goes and requests thats they might've "missed" our room upon clean ups even though as a HOTEL you're REQUIRED to check every room that is going to be checked into to make sure it is up kept properly. THEN the second day they try to charge us an extra 100$ "pet fee" after they already took 100$ "incase he messes up the room) ?? So then my bf spills his drink on the bed while we were eating (which I know from personal experience with this drink and white sheets it does not stain at all) my bf goes to ask if they can change our bedding because he spilled his drink (which didn't get the mattress either by the way) THEY CHARGED ANOTHER 50$?!?!!!! so it's ok for them to make a "mistake" with giving us a dirty ass room that looked like it had a fucking orgy in it BUT when we make a mistake it's 50$ plz this place is such a scam and very fucking disgusting. I've been staying at this hotel for years. It's a preferred location for work. I've noticed on my last visit (this past Sunday - Thursday) that it has declined. Here is what is disappointing: - $0.15 to print something. Used to be free. - breakfast vouchers for buffet can only be eaten in dining room. Prior to this visit, I would do an hour workout and grab a plate from the buffet and head upstairs. Tipped the same way. The morning server was so rude and said it wasn't permitted. - the ONE bartender is RUDE!! We tip you for every drink, so provide better customer service. If you don't like intoxicated, fun, happy and loud people, find another job. Lastly, around midnight, I woke up to two loud screaming people staying next to my room. I banged on the wall and they finally shut up. I don't recommend and hope the company puts us up in a different hotel. read more

I've stayed here on two different occasions and have had a pleasant stay both time. Rooms are comfy and clean. Friendly, helpful, cheerful Service and spacious, clean, well-priced Rooms and fresh, hot, delicious Breakfast. We arrive late night and are right off the bat greeted by a nice receptionist who has good conversation with us. Then we head up to the room, open the door and are immediately impressed with how spacious it is! It even has a separate bathtub and separate shower. Everything is nice and clean. In the morning we wake up and head down to breakfast. The nice lady at the desk had given us buffet passes so we show the waiter and he seats us. We help ourselves to the buffet and waffle machine and put in our orders for our omelettes. They bring them out and it is delicious! Perfectly done. The waiter is attentive and nice and the cooks made some delicious breakfast. Everything was great! I will be coming back. read more

Like another reviewer, I got a weekend rate that was marvelous. The facility is world-class, new-ish, and very clean. Why the low rating, you might ask, when it's a fabulous facility? The downsides are that it's out in the middle of a huge business park. Location is tough. You're also captive, therefore to the food-- which might be of high quality but I'll never know as I refuse to pay $9 for the most basic of continental breakfasts. WiFi is a mind-numbing $12.95/night. There are some AT&T plans that cost this much per month. Yes, it's a suites hotel and the rooms are very good. But next time I stay here, I might need to bring a bottle of oxygen because they might charge for air. There is an MBA somewhere at Marriott that needs to be taken out back and spanked mightily for the sense that Marriott (and they're not alone as a major chain) that nickel and dimes you to death. I fully realize that such things cost money, but I'm reminded of the sad state of our healthcare system with the unbelievable and miserly way in which items are priced. It's for this reason that I would have NEVER thought of checking a Marriott for a casual weekend stay on my own. The personnel were uniformly commiserate over such charges, and were wonderful people. But I didn't even want to make tea in my room. How much might they charge for that? RyanAir, are you listening? We're not going to stand up to fly, or to sleep at a Marriott. read more

The rooms are comfortable and spacious. The bathrooms were clean. The "gym" is pretty limited, some awkwardly large free weights and one deflated exercise ball. If you are looking for cardio then you will probably be good, there are about 3 ellipticals, 5 treadmills and 2 stationary bikes. I give the facilities 4 stars. The service was disappointing. The staff did not seem very interested in answering my basic questions about the facilities. The front desk attendant also sent the wrong items to my room two times in one night. I stayed here for a week while I attended my residency program for college. The room was big, spacious, and overall nice. My only critique about the hotel itself was the housekeeping. I was told at check in that they would service my room on Wednesday and if I needed anything in the meantime to let them know. As I was leaving in the morning they were servicing the room across the hall and the woman asked me if I was being serviced that day. I told her no that it would be serviced on Wednesday and to not go into my room. Thinking I was not on the list to be serviced I did not think they would go in. I was mistaken, after a long day I came back to my room with my things moved around. I was also finding black hair from the housekeeping on the towels (I am a fake blond so I know they did not come from me). It felt violating honestly. The cleaning they DID do was subpar. I found a wash cloth (that had not been used by me) under the foot of the bed when I noticed it sticking out the bed skirt. I put the do not disturb hang tag on my door where it remained the rest of the week. Even with it on the door I got a knock while getting ready from housekeeping. Other than that if you are a light sleeper do not get a pool facing room as the windows are thin and you will hear all of the conversations of those enjoying drinks below on the patio. read more

Deerfield rocks! I love the Marriott in general; this location is in a business park area so it is not super busy like some of their other locations. The expressway, malls, and restaurant are not too far from the hotel either. Plenty of parking and the hotel is nice inside. The staff is welcoming and is there for you whenever you need them. Housekeeping is friendly too. Our suite was amazing, it had an LCD, HD flat-screen TV in the living room, wet bar, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, an oversize king bed with super soft pillows and sheets, a large bathroom with a bathtub and a shower stall and the best part our bedroom was separate from the living and had French doors. The AC was heaven on those balmy summer days and nights. read more

I LOVED staying here! My friend and I split the room between the two of us when staying here for a wedding last weekend ($99 per night plus taxes). First of all, the room was HUGE. it was separated into a bedroom/living room area where you could close the doors between. Nice touch. Also, the bathroom kept on going. I loved that some people could be getting ready without needing to take up prime toilet space (Ahem, if there are people drinking, ahem). There was tons of room and huge closet, too. I wish we could have stayed here longer! The only disappointment was the breakfast the next morning. We had vouchers for the buffet. It took SO.Freaking.Long for our friends to get their waffles/omelets (it was a lady making them). Plus she jacked up the first omelet for my husband, so that took an extra five minutes out of his life. Plus our waitress seemingly hated her job and was not friendly/nice in the least. Maybe she thought we wouldn't tip her since we had vouchers?? I don't really know what we did to deserve her attitude, but smile, lady!! Geez! Overall, I would stay here again! read more
