Delicious dinner!!! The waiter was nice and the food was delicious! Crispy fries and yummy chicken!

Stayed for a night with the wife and kids and it was definitely an experience. The elevator is so small but barely fit 4 people and a dolly. The pool is not heated as advertised, along with there are chips all around the sides of the pool. Definitely not the worst hotel I've stayed at, but I've definitely been at better hotels for a lot cheaper than $150/night.

Average Crowne. Think a lot of these need to be updated. Friendly staff but all the rooms our party occupied had this oily odor. Like a greasy hair care product. Just seemed to permeate the air wherever you went in the hotel. Not far from O'hare but far enough away to have a lower price tag on the room. Clean. Breakfast area. Bar. Meeting rooms, the hotel usual. Seating area once you enter along with a gift shop. Get some Cubs items or a Hancock tower postcard. Navy Pier! Breakfast menu seemed decent. Watched some television downstairs while a family waited ages for their food. Enough wait staff but they just seemed to walk around. Not check up on their table or inquire at the window what's taking the kitchen so long. Ample parking for hotel patrons. Water in the lobby and a mini fridge with a variety of beverages. Not my first choice for the O'hare area but for a night it was ok.

Last night we went to a Filipino birthday party dinner at Crowne Plaza. This even was held in one of the banquet rooms in the hotel. It was a pleasant evening with a live band and a buffet style dinner. The band was played before and after dinner. Some of the kids danced a traditional Filipino style dance in colorful native garb. Considering the food was a banquet style where you went up and got your food at a table in the back it was decent food. The meal consisted of a salad, green beans with peppers and carrots. The meats were a sirloin steak roast which was cooked either in a slow cooker or on a very low slow heat as the meat was very tender. There was also a chicken breast with some type of batter and lemon sauce that was a little bland, but tender. The mashed potatoes were ok. I ready enjoyed the creamy tomato soup. It was delicious. They also had a large dessert table that has a wide range of desserts to select from. The only problem is everyone was speaking in Tagalog and I don't understand the language. Still it was a nice evening

Generally, Crowne Plaza hotels in the US compare unfavorably with their counterparts abroad, and the Crowne Plaza Chicago Northbrook is no exception. It wears the faded glory of boomer luxury on its sleeve, so I wasn't surprised that my mom (a boomer) described it as "nice." The location isn't particularly convenient, and the hallways smell stale, though faintly enough for plausible deniability. My suite was dark, admitting little sunlight, and the dark furniture and mirrors didn't do it any favors. Housekeeping was fine if indifferent, especially in the bathroom. Indeed, the rooms are outdated, but little touches such as the Beekman 1802 toiletries in the bath, Keurig machine in the bedroom, and USB hubs on the nightstands and desk suggest some effort to break out of the 20th century. Still, the bed was comfortable, the inconvenient location paying off in silence in the wee hours of New Year's Day. As far as service goes, the hotel shuttle arrangement was inexplicably byzantine -- especially with no one else waiting for one -- exacerbated by the concierge's ambivalent English skills. Rather than miss the Metra and having to wait two hours for the next train, I summoned a Lyft and forwent what felt destined to be a Fawlty Towers experience. Despite these disappointments, what won an above-average rating from me was the manager. Not only did he allow me to check in about a half hour early, but he also upgraded my double queen room to an executive suite and gave me both a complimentary cocktail ticket and bonus IHG points. That was nice of him, at least as nice as the suite, and he was jolly about it. Btw, 20k IHG points seems to me right for this hotel, which was untouched in the points recalibration for 2019. (Chicago's luxury hotels, such as the Intercontinental Magnificent Mile and most of the Kimptons, will cost 50k or more points per night.) If you do have that many points, though, you'll get better value at the Holiday Inn Express Deerfield, a newer property that will throw in a free hot breakfast for 15k points per night. But if you're paying cash, and you're earning bonus points, you'll do better at the Crowne Plaza Chicago Northbrook, especially if you book through a portal (e.g., topcashback.com) that gets you 6-8% back.

I spent 20 nights here, and Feel bad having to give them this multifaceted bad review. A. The Hotel is dated. The rooms hadn't been redone in ages! B. The Water in the shower kept changing from hot to cold? Finally I noticed that the toilet was leaking. I reported it however it did not get fixed they played around with-it every day I reported it did not get fixed. As they adjusted it, but I it kept leaking because they did not change the line. They rather sit there and adjust it. Also the drain was Broken and never fixed as well. C. I had And Enterprise rental car They have a rangements with the front desk so I gave my keys to the guy at the front desk. He failed to turn them in, acording to Enterprise. D. Now let's discuss the self service laundry. They have 3 washing machines all of them are broken so they do not remove the soap. So you have to wash your clothes 3 × 1st time with Soap and then 2 times without soap I found that out the hard way how is up till 4:00 in the morning doing laundry. E. Phone Messaging system, is a mess it does not work. Every day my phone was flashing, and I would call and ask if I have messages and they told me no but apparently I did! F. I received an overnight FedEx 1030am Guaranteed delivery and I was never notified ! G. Terrible housekeeping staff! One day they took my toothbrush/ replaced it with a free tooth brush from 1st Family Dental in Chicago, I live in LV! I didn't notice right away. I don't know if it was used or what! Now I keep my toothbrush locked away. I addressed these issues with the manager, and he was able to resolve the Enterprise issue only. I was given 2 Mediocre breakfast buffets for my inconveniences. What an awful experience! I hope I don't have to stay here again!

The staff here is very helpful and friendly, the hotel is very clean! The rooms are clean and have a fridge and and microwave along with a sleep number bed which was very surprising to me because this is the first hotel I've ever been to that have them in there rooms. There isn't much around here but that's not a bad thing nice and quite, if you what to go out then it's a short car ride to where ever you want to go. They have a nice swim pool you can go take a dip in or get a tan next to.

I'm a Crowne Plaza Platinum member stuck in a 78 degree room who requested last night to have someone check on the air conditioning in my room this morning after 9:00am. When I returned from work at 4:30pm today, my room was still hot, and I had to call the front desk again. I was told an engineer would be at my room in 20 minutes. 1 hour later someone named Jose finally shows up to my room, tells me I didn't turn the air conditioning fan on (I did), and then Jose tells me he will be back in 2 minutes. 1 hour later, the room is at 78 degrees, and Jose was unable to fix my air conditioning. Including Jose, no one at this hotel appears to be mindful of the value of time.

    Dinner/dance event with 140 people.

Had an event here with 140 people. Many of those people stayed a few nights in the hotel as well. The bad: You have one person that coordinates your event. If she is not available you wait for an answer. There was turnover in that position during the 9 months between the booking and the event. That was disruptive to the planning. Planning from out of town was even more challenging with an unresponsive person. The room for the event was a standard home height ceiling, so it was far from being a grand ballroom. The good: The food: both the food at their restaurant and the event was fresh and tasted good. We had some diet restrictions to deal with and this Crowne Plaza did a good job in accommodating those needs. The food presented was healthy and tasted good. They served on time and at the proper temperature. The rooms: The rooms were clean and everything was in good order. Room layout: I arrived a day early and they made a few changes at my request. Bartender: We had a cash bar. The drinks were good without a long wait. Dance Floor: Was a reasonable size and it was full before the night was over. People from the event upstairs crashed our party and said our event was more exciting. Table cloths and napkins: This Crowne Plaza was flexible in the color of tablecloths and the color of napkins. Very nice! Parking: There is a huge lot in front of the hotel with free parking. There was never a problem finding a space. Room availability: It was important for our out of town guests to have a room at the hotel, including me. Some people, including me, were not able to book until closer to the event. The hotel got booked and they moved reservations to a sister hotel to open up hotel rooms for guests of our event. Excellent! Bar at the hotel: It is not particularly big. Service and drinks were good.

Awesome hotel for the price! Been to many and most disappoint in one or more important ways but not Crowne! Service has been outstanding and can you guess what is missing from the photo? The omelette which is complimentary with free breakfast every day!! Lionel was our waiter for most mornings and took care of us as if we were at a five star resort They even changed the mattress when we asked for a softer one Definitely will repeat when in Chicago Only reason not five stars is a slow wifi connection

We appreciated being able to get more food as needed. The short rib was worth the upcharge and a fan favorite. I noticed a portrait on the wall next to the stand and inquired who it was. Her name was Sara Rowe, and it's a loving memorial to a long time Melman partner. Melman combined her first name, Sara, with a classic Italian suffix to create the name "Saranello's". It's an upscale restaurant with upscale food. But at a mid-scale price point, Thanks for that! The food: I had the baked eggplant parm, since I'm from Chicago. You know what I mean if you're local. And it's my new benchmark. Well done! The wife had the braised short rib ravioli. It's now her desert island dish. It's a very very nice space. And our server knew the menu backwards and forwards. Anyone who's had the grated "parmesan" in the green can will appreciate the genuine Parmiggiano Reggiano they serve here. Freshly grated with no cellulose, and that beautiful tang! With homemade tiramisu for dessert, and a glass of wine, the tab was about $75, but you get what you pay for, and you'll get what you're paying for here!

Her positive attitude and accommodation won us over to become a loyal customer to your brand. Nani at the bar was helpful with recommending restaurants and sightseeing locations while recommending local drinks at the bar. It's also conveniently located near major attractions and has easy access to public transportation, making it simple to explore the city. I usually don't leave negative reviews, but this experience honestly didn't sit right with me…read more Upon arrival, the front desk staff made us feel judged. We were dressed in sweats and cozy clothes (we're from California and not used to the cold), while others around us were dressed more formally. I understand this is considered a "nicer" hotel, but that shouldn't affect how guests are treated. What really stood out was when I asked a simple question about how long it takes to get the deposit back on a credit card. One of the front desk employees jumped in and said it depends on the card, usually 7-14 days--but then specifically mentioned that if it's a Cash App card, it would "definitely" take 14 days. The way it was said felt very assumptive and unprofessional. I work in sales/finance, so that comment didn't sit right with me. When I clarified that we were using Navy Federal, his tone immediately changed and became much more respectful. That shift alone was very telling. As for the room itself, it did not meet expectations for a hotel that presents itself as high-end. * All four cups in the room were dirty with visible residue and streaks * The bedding had multiple stains, some immediately visible and others noticeable under lighting * The couch had strange stains on it as well * When we pulled out the sofa bed, there was someone else's old medicine wrapper underneath, which made it very clear the room was not properly cleaned * One of the lamps was broken * The sink/faucet had heavy buildup and grime that looked unsanitary (as shown in the photos) The level of cleanliness was honestly unacceptable. I didn't complain during the stay since it was only one night, but it's something future guests should be aware of. The only positives were how quick check-in was and how easy it was to book (we booked through Airbnb, which may also have contributed to how we were perceived). Overall, if you're staying here: * Don't expect equal treatment based on appearance * Check EVERYTHING in your room before using it Definitely not the experience I expected from a place that markets itself as high-end.
