The only good part about the hotel is that it looks beautiful. The parking was very difficult to figure out, we ended up having to call (jay at the front desk was so nice and gave us great directions and recommendations) the room looked pretty, but while we were getting dressed we realized that we could hear EVERYTHING next door. We could hear people peeing and hear their FULL CONVERSATIONS very clearly. The room temp never went below 80, so that was really uncomfortable. The front desk person that took over the night shift was VERY rude. I didn't catch her name but she was a younger black woman. I asked for help finding the uber pick up spot because I was unfamiliar with the area and I didn't want to be walking around the city at night. We let the front desk staff know in the morning and they were very nice and apologetic about it. Also at 9am housekeeping banged on our door and told us we needed to check out. We told her we looked up the checkout time was at noon and she said we were wrong and that we needed to pack up. So we rushed downstairs only to be told that housekeeping was wrong and we could go back to our room. At that point we were so fed up that we declined and they offered to give us a discount on breakfast. I'll never stay here again and I wouldn't advise anyone else to. read more

This site does not have a members lounge, but does offer breakfast vouchers - but only for the continental breakfast. Any hospitality company that doesn't care about the comfort of their customers is not recommended in my book: Their draconian HVAC policies are irritating as hell: the occupancy sensor turns off the AC after only 5 MINUTES. That means I can't keep the AC running unless I'm constantly moving around in front of the sensor, which faces a hall way. It means while I'm here, I need to set a timer to get up and walk to the hallway every 4 minutes. It means my room never cools down while I'm out to dinner. It means it heats up to 78 DEGREES while I'm trying to sleep (and it's the end of October). I slept scantily-clad with not even a top sheet covering me and I still sweated through the sheets. I had only 3 hours of sleep last night, and 2.5 the night before, because I kept getting up to try to get the AC to run. I called maintenance, but they didn't change it. This hotel is far too "bad parent" friendly. To check in on a Friday afternoon, i wound my way through the construction that's been going on for a year? It wasn't bad, but I was disappointed that the Bank restaurant and bar are closed. No bar on-site at all. Whatever; there are more bars and restaurants nearby. Friday was fine. Saturday I was awoken to the pitter patter of little feet running up and down the hallway. And up and down. And up and down. And up and down. I left around lunchtime to go to the Twins game. When I returned hot and sweaty, I was excited to check out the pool. But first more running in the hallway. When I got down to the pool, I was disappointed. I should have guessed that it would be full of those children, but I was disappointed with 1. How small the pool is. 2. How few lounge chairs there are. I think 4? 3. 6 moms in the hot tub, each with their Stanley full of "water" with 2-3 LITTLE children. No room in the hot tub. The children in the pool were having a grand time jumping off each other, splashing, and screaming. Mom's paid no notice that there is someone new in the room who might want to use the facilities and not go deaf. I lasted about 10 minutes before I gave up. I DoorDashed my dinner, listening to the running while I waited. When I left to go pick it up, I see that not only is it running, they've set up a baseball field in the hallway with pillows for bases. I dont know why I didn't complain to management honestly. It was a miserable stay and I can't be the only one who was affected by the disrespectful ruckus. Oh and the AC did not cool efficiently and the bathroom was dated with cracked tiles. read more

We booked a stay for 4 nights the week after Easter. What a nightmare! First, we get there and they are under construction. No valet and no bellmen. We had to call to see where we could park. It was across the street in a parking garage. We had to do our own luggage, etc. The Assistant Manager was working the front desk, and she was alone. She was TERRIFIC! She apologized and gave us free drinks in the makeshift bar they had while under construction. Her name is Maddi Klatt. The 2 stars on this review is solely because of her! I would give her a 5!!!! I reached out to her Manager and told him how wonderful she is. Moving forward, that night our room was warm. We could deal with it. Around midnight, it was HOT! Maintenance came in and reset the controller and said it would cool down. Wrong. I was up all night. By 7 am, our room was 81 degrees. We went to the front desk and complained. The front desk told us it would be fixed while we were out and would bring in fans to cool it down. We returned around 7 pm. Walked into our room, and it was 80 degrees, and they left a DESK fan to cool the room down. Back down we went, and Maddi was on duty again. She said the swamp cooler was broken and there was no ETA. We asked for bigger fans. She said the Manager said he wasn't purchasing any fans. We asked for some sort of compensation and to speak to the Manager. She made a call, and we were told he was busy and there was nothing that could be done. She offered us a room on a lower floor. We went to check it out, and it was 78 degrees. No thank you. I was exhausted from no sleep and a full day, I started to cry, Maddi started to cry. She was getting no upper management support- we felt so bad. We cancelled our room and booked at the Marriott around the corner. Maddi was so kind. We booked on points and our points would take time to be credited. We had to pay out of pocket at the new hotel. NO compensation from the Westin. No survey was sent out. This was a horrible experience. I hope they make it right. Maddi- YOU are an amazing person and we thank you for all your kindness. read more

We had to cancel our room at the very last minute in December 2021 because of an intense blizzard. The Westin Minneapolis did not have to be so kind and not charge us for the night (or the entire stay) but that's exactly what they did. I was so relieved I wouldn't have to pay for this given what the airline did to us (non-refunds for "acts of God" are ridiculous if you ask me.) Luckily, a year later, we used that expiring airline credit to come back and this time we actually got to stay at The Westin. I could have gone with a few other choices but how kind they were the year before really swayed me. We came in after 11pm so we had to use the phone in the vestibule to get the door opened for us. This was the easiest it's ever been for this situation. Check-in was a breeze and the person was so nice and informative. I love when someone gives you all the pertinent info in a non robotic way. The rooms were good. Are they luxury? No. Are they clean and suited for your needs? Yes. The bed is super comfy and our room had a great view of my favorite downtown building. The rain shower with separate wand was lovely. We really enjoyed the heck out of the hot tub and pool. Again, not the fanciest place on Earth but clean and well appointed. The bar and restaurant are in the middle of the lobby and didn't seem very busy. If I didn't have special restaurant plans we may have come in but we didn't. It wasn't too busy with guests but I did see that there were some and they all seemed to enjoy themselves. The skyway access is super easy and the Starbucks right there was convenient. This hotel is in the perfect downtown location if you're walking or taking the Metro/bus throughout the city. read more

5 Stars for the phenomenal front desk service both upon check in and check out. 2 Stars for room cleanliness - bathroom wasn't clean This Westin is in the heart of downtown in an old bank building. The lobby is currently under construction, would love to see it once it reopens because the building is fascinating. When you walk in, you're immediately in the Bank restaurant (which has limited hours). You can take the escalator to the Starbucks on the 2nd floor or head straight back to check-in/elevators. As you head to the elevators (and I don't think it's this way when fully open) you pass the old bank vault which is really cool to peek at. I was on the 10th floor (11 total), in a King-bedroom. The bed was very comfortable, and I slept well- longer than intended because the curtains really black everything out! The furniture in the room and at the entrance of the hotel is old, the leather is worn, but I imagine as they make refurbishments these will soon be replaced, I was probably just there at a strange time. The bathroom was awkward and not clean (hair in shower and bathroom floor). The door has to be closed (or somewhat closed) to get to the toilet, so it's a weird setup, especially in the middle of the night. Actual shower was meh- it's supposed to be a rainfall and was pretty much like an actual rainfall without a ton of water pressure. I wish hotels would find shower heads with the strongest pressure- for women specifically, when you have to wash your hair, you need power. The White Tea scent of the shampoo/conditioner was nice. The bathroom was missing the soap so they put a small sample soap in. Honestly- the Westin in Arizona is a resort, very nice, so I expected more and was disappointed/underwhelmed, but the service was really wonderful and the location was great based on my work. read more

The food and happy hour are good. I think happy hour is 3-5 Monday through Friday, I believe. We went Monday June 10th after my daughters graduation from high school. They service was great and the food wonderful. They brought her a dessert sampler for us all to share. The parking is nice if you can find meter parking. We stayed overnight Saturday of the same week. The rooms are very nice and I love the heavy covers. Makes you feel like your tucked in. Breakfast choices are plentiful and good as well. I left my I-watch plugged into its charger in the hotel room and realized this once at the airport waiting for my flight. I immediately called the front desk and they told me to call back later once housekeeping was in. I proceeded to email and open a case with my information. As soon as I landed I called again, they took down my information and they told me they'd be calling me back. They never did. I called everyday for a week straight with ABSOLUTELY no help. They then disconnected my iwatch from location services and I never heard back from anyone. I don't recommend staying here and they were very unhelpful recovering my iwatch. I gave them all the info they needed to recover and ship it back to me, but decided to instead keep my watch. Overall, a terrible experience and not a good way to end a long business trip. read more

Spent the night last week for the Pink concert. The rooms are basic but comfortable. The big thing that was lacking the signage. Parking wasn't clear at all, and we ended up parking in a ramp across the street because the one attached to the building is evidently for residents of the facility next door. We couldn't find a clear sign for the lobby once we got off the elevator, evidently it's inside the restaurant. We went out one door to go to the show, but the second one was locked. It's a nice hotel with interesting decor due to it being in a literal old bank. My frustrations were with how limited the normal amenities are. I get that COVID has changed a lot of things, but why would I want to pay high prices for limited access to things like the restaurant? The sundry was limited and exceptionally overpriced (we bought a sandwich, a salad, some Gatorade, two beers and it was $65 on the bill!?!). There's no room service and there's limited housekeeping. The staff were really nice and it's in a fantastic location right downtown. The rooms do have mini-fridges which is really nice. And the rooms were clean. We had some hot water issues with the shower and literally nothing was plugged in (lights, tv, the outlet bank in the desk, the clock, etc) so we had to figure that out. read more

Not your typical Westin. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. Check In experience is was slow and the guy at the front desk whispers everything and you have no idea what he's saying. Rooms are small and there is no hit water. It's warm at best and it take 10 to 15 minutes to even get warm. Parking is awful and if you have a truck or Suburban it's an adventure getting in and out. The worst part is they seem to have some weird thing going on where if you appear to be a single women you will get "invited" to a managers reception which ends up being you sitting with the manager and him buying you a drink. The lobby is gorgeous (Midland bar in this hotel lobby is amazing). The Art Deco over the top decor and architecture are remarkable. The bell man/security guy Joe gave me a quick tour and was very informative. Staff is super nice and hotel is beautiful and well kept. Roughly 20 minutes from airport but literally a few steps from the rail line with a stop directly at the airport. The hotel is centrally located in downtown. The rooms were clean but a bit dated, however the heavenly bed never disappoints and the rain shower made all the difference. There weren't many charging outlets in the room, room service was temporarily unavailable, and there was a refrigerator in the room. The Westin Minneapolis is a nice hotel downtown. We came here over the weekend of the 8th/9th to watch the 49ers opener at the Vikings. We got checked in early which was cool and then went out and hit the town on Saturday. They have an awesome restaurant and bar area right when you walk in from the front entrance. All the bartenders and servers are super cool people. Friendly and engaging, they make you feel at home. Rooms are nice, nothing too special, but the safe was broke which was a bummer, they tried fixing it twice and then offered for me to store my stuff downstairs in the hotel safe but I declined as it would've been a hassle. When I went to checkout the front desk told me he waived the WiFi fee of like $16? Umm, didn't know I would've been charged for that regardless, as I didn't use it anyway, or even know about it for that matter. Crazy these places will consider nickel & dining you for nonsense like that when you pay what you do to stay there. Overall I'd for sure stay here again if I came back to Minnesota. read more

Room was nice, view was great, amd bed was very cozy! The only downfall for us was the loud neighbors next door. They were up bickering all night and into the morning. I had to make a noise complaint, but i guess i was not the only one. During check out the next morning, the manager asked how our stay was. I kindly told him about the disturbance and he said i was not the only one. He said sorry and he wants us to come back and stay, on him. Wow!!! That is so nice! I really appreciate the generosity. Two things happened on this visit. After the first day, when I returned to the hotel my keys didn't work. I was told that I checked out (even though I had booked and paid for 4 nights through Priceline). The front desk person rebooked me into the room and AFTER he put a hold on my credit card he informed me that he was doing so. Poor customer service. When I checked out there were $32.84 charged for internet access. Priceline booking said it is free. They told me they would have the manager call me, that he hadn't arrived yet. I waited until mid-day the next day and got no call back. Then I called and spoke to the manager. He stated he was off the day before, never apologized for not calling back, and stated that the hotel offers "free Internet service" just not in the rooms. I was given an access code when I checked in. I assumed it was for the free internet service and entered that along with my last name and room number. He asked me to send him my Priceline receipt showing that it was free, which I did. He then emailed me back and asked for a Priceline receipt saying that it was free in the room. What? He said that it is free, just not in the rooms. This seems wrong to me since it said free internet service when I booked. Why do they offer the free service except for in the rooms? It seems backwards to me and for the $32.84 he could have refunded me, now they have a very unsatisfied guest and a poor review. I will never stay at this Westin Hotel again. So sad because I was excited to stay at this property. read more

Beautiful rooms, clean, customer service was on POINT. I'm pregnant and was craving dessert but the restaurant had closed about 15 min prior. They were able to secure me some delicious chocolate turtle cake. They upgraded our room to a Deluxe king when we got here and the room is amazing with great views. Hotel looked amazing upon walking in. Check in was a minor pain in the butt. Husband reserved the room under his name and because he was still at work, I went there to check in. For the first time in my life, I was told I could NOT check in since my husband was not with me nor was the reservation under my name. Had to call my husband and have him "ok" me checking in. Our reservation was for a suite room but when I walked into the room (which i was told was an executive suite), it looked and felt like a standard king. It was tiny. Do NOT stay here !! Parking is terrible especially if you have an SUV. It is not appropriate at all. You can only get your car one way which is from a second floor path in the hotel. The Westin MPLS is pretty solid. One of the best features of this hotel? Its location (location, location). Central to everything and far from nothing, it's situated in the heart of downtown. Win! It's clean, comfortable, and overall pretty nice. No, it's not unique and curated décor and there are no locally-owned, acclaimed restaurants in the same building, but it's a perfectly solid, higher-ish end hotel. Upon entering the building proper you'll have to pass by a large, open-ish bar and restaurant area before hitting the check-in kiosks at the back of the very gigantic room. Don't be confused, just keep walking. Once you snag your room key cards, you'll be directed to one set of elevators - that's it! - but they're pretty quick. (I stayed on the topmost floor, so I know!) Gym facilities are nice if not a bit run of the mill: two-three treadmills/ellipticals, one spin bike, some free weights and a resistance machine. And some bosu. Bosus? (Are they like deer/deer, or are they plural? Gah!) Anyways, the gym was adequate and I got my job done, sort of. (Sometimes you're just not as aggressive as you should be, you know?) BONUS: Upon realization that I had forgotten my tiny travel toothpaste, a super-sweet janitress stopped everything she was doing to go snag me some. Seriously... that's service, people. (My hope is that if she felt that kind of accountability and eagerness to help out a hotel guest because the hotel treats her/the rest of the custodial staff well? I digress... ) I can't speak to internet connectivity, as I had my mobile Verizon card with me. Another reviewer noted paying per device per day, which seems a bit much, but I can't really speak to it. I think hotels should provide internet free of charge, but that's just me... Four stars! A 1942 Art Deco building listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This is a very impressive historic building, from the moment you step out, onto the sidewalk, looking at the building's Art Deco facade. Walking into the lobby is quite dramatic. The chandeliers are spectacular, as well as Bank Restaurant's original design (located in the lobby). There's a beautiful art deco staircase just behind the front desk. The business center is quite nice and continues in the art deco design. Also there is the original bank vault, which is now a wine bar. All of these common areas in the hotel are spectacular and I'd recommend anyone to visit this hotel more than once to enjoy the ambience & have a drink or a meal here at Bank Restaurant, with it's open kitchen. However, once you get into the elevator and head up to your guestroom, this is where the magic stops! Walking down the guestroom hallway, there was an ugly portable fan on the floor's passageway to my room. I thought this was odd and I've never seen anything like it in any hotel throughout the world before! I walked into my room and the bed looked like the covers had just been thrown over it and the bed did not look well-made. I had hoped that no one had slept on these sheets already. They were clean sheets though. But, they didn't look fresh because of the way the bed was made. This was a sloppy introduction to my guestroom! The guestroom has unattractive carpet that could easily camouflage stains. Wood floors are always so much nicer! There's not enough electrical outlets for the TV, lamp, refrigerator and coffee maker to be plugged in all at once. So, in order to make coffee in the room, I had to crawl under the desk, unplug the lamp, careful not to unplug the TV and plug in the coffee pot to enable it to work. It would've been nice to have had the lamp available for the extra lighting while making my morning coffee. One of the best things about living in the 20th and 21st century is that you push a button and magically you have electrical services available and you don't normally have to go through all of this effort of crawling under tables. Other electrical outlets are cemented into the nightstand, in an unsightly manner, and there are no USB ports whatsoever in the room. We are talking about luxury accommodations, right? The Westin wants to consider itself luxury. But, the rooms are not luxurious and there is no attention to detail here! There was a lot of dust on my nightstand lamp and I took a photo of it. I received one small bar of soap in the bathroom and no bath gel. While checking in, the front desk had absolutely no welcoming personalities. Two of them were attending the front desk and they were just going through the motions of checking all of us into our rooms. I was almost afraid to even ask them for a map of the city because they were so disinterested in us. I suggest you have dinner here or a cocktail at Bank restaurant. But, sleep in another location, especially if you're looking for a romantic getaway. read more

Very disappointed in the service at the wine bar. We just arrived this evening and sat down at yhe bar at 8:30 pm to enjoy a glass of wine after dinner. Its ver beautiful and we were looking forward to some down time. After we were finally greeted by a rather rude waiter asking "what did we need". We indicated we would like a wine list. He left the bar while several other waitresses stood around talking. We waited and waited... he finally returned and was eating something he apparently had retrieved from the kitchen for himself, stood right in front of us and turned his back to us to watch TV. We then got up from the bar and he finally acknowledged and asked "where we were going" to which we responded it appeared to be too much trouble for him to wait on us. Needless to say I would not recommend The Bank in the Westin to anyone. read more

What a long weekend with them. A lot of good times and a few bad. I have no idea where to start. Lets start with the bad. The security let my friend and his four friends(whom I've never met in my fucking life) in my room while I was not there. I did not okay that nore did they call or check with me to see if that was okay or if I even knew the guy or the four strangers with him. Really pissed me off. That was a few hours into my stay. The good: my room was like a one bedroom apartment with no kitchen. It was beautiful. The bathroom is where I spent most of my time. The shower is to die for. The tub fits two to three people very well. I had two two hour massages right in my room. Full spa set up. There is a really big bar downstairs along with all of what downtown has to offer. read more

I stayed here one night while in the city. Great service as expected for a Westin and the heavenly beds are the best. The three things that stand out are 1) the building... it used to be a bank. The wine cellar is an honest to goodness bank vault! 2) the B.A.N.K restaurant. I had lunch and dinner there and the food is really exquisite, and 3) the location is perfect fir shopping and business. Historic hotel which used to be an old bank. The hotel is in a key location in the city. You can walk anywhere close with no issues, plus the baseball stadium is only a few blocks away.
