Westin I adore you. You always take such good care of me when I come in, makes it difficult to leave. Location is great, right on 5th Ave and only blocks from great shopping and dining. Seattle offers a wide range of lodging options, but the Westin will remain top 5 (personal ranking) in perpetuity. Not much else really needs to be said at this point, just stay here and you'll see exactly what I'm talking about. read more

Check in had issues. Sat around for 2 hours before room was ready. All other guests with us from our princess cruise had long gone up to their rooms. Chilling out between out walks around the city to find the new tv/cable system was allegedly install wrong...basic choppy TV with no news. Choppiness was making TV hard to watch. Day 2 door/elevator cards failed. I advised staff of the on going issues and they provided excuses. Offered a free breakfast to compensate. Not a good place for the price I paid for a top floor with water view. Closer to 2 stars but gave 3 because they offered breakfast. read more

Disclaimer: I've never stayed here. However, I have spent some time waiting in the lobby to meet people, and those couches are extremely cushy and comfortable. There is also ample seating, so your group isn't forced to awkwardly merge with any other ones. The cocktails look great too, but I've never indulged. Oh well, maybe one day! read more

I was here for a conference, so had special rates ($200 + all those taxes). The service was amazingly friendly- they were especially courteous in letting me charge my dead phone and laptop while using their behind-the-counter phone to make a call. They easily extended my stay at the same rate and were very accommodating at the front desk. I got rooms on very high floors with amazing views (I'm a starwood member, so perhaps that helped) and the rooms were comfortable and clean- love their beds and shower heads. Great location and free wireless in the lobby are an added plus. I would definitely stay here again for business travel (as well as personal if the rates are reasonable). read more

This hotel was really really great! Location is perfect downtown, close to everything. I didn't want to rent a car when I visited so this was an ideal spot, walked EVERYWHERE! Great restaurants around, close to monorail, pike place, etc. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The rooms are great with amazing city views. Plenty of room, very comfortable beds, nice couch in room, great bathrooms, overall very happy with rooms and amenities. Will definitely stay in again! read more

This review is solely on the ballrooms/event rooms since I have not slept here, just went to a conference. When I first walked in, I really liked the layout of the hotel lobby and found my way around easily to my destination within the building. I was approached by a staff member and they were very friendly and confirmed the directions of my destination. The hotel is clean, has nice decor, and I can only imagine how nice the views are from the hotel room windows. The conference/event rooms are very spacious, clean, laid out well, and they have good food catering. Would be a nice place to hold a business event or even a wedding! The location is great and I would definitely come here again to stay the night (if I didn't live a few blocks away) or if there was another event held here. read more

I wanted a 5 starish hotel to treat myself to a bath of relaxation as like everyone is super-stressed in this economic downturn, etc. I bid on priceline 130 and got a room. I was hoping for the W, but thought ok Westin I still will get their Heavenly Bed and I did. Its an old hotel, but the rooms have been modernized. You can't go wrong with the Heavenly bed and linens. And I got a view of all of DT from my room. Loved their bath products white tea and aloe, double shower head. My biggest complaint is no free wi-fi. My second complaint is they should update the rest of the hotel as they have with the rooms. And parking at 22 bucks a night for a hotel guest is stupidly insane - People "Seattle is not NYC." PS Starbucks coffee in rooms also beats other shat regardless of corporate conglomerate. read more

Fantastic weekend in Seattle. The Westin is so close and convenient to downtown. The remodeled lobby looks great. I cannot believe the workout area, with 4 Peloton Bikes! I was able to do a live NY class and got such a workout. We so enjoyed the Buffet Breakfast. The crispest bacon, fabulous spinach egg quiche, and you have to come just for the waffles.... Louise at the Concierge Desk was filled with ideas for dining in the city. We ate at Barolo, just a block away- OMG! read more

Yes, the bed was lovely, the robes and towel lush as expected. The cylindrical tower design puts a unique twist on things giving you a curved room and staying on the 33rd floor gave a pretty city view. The garage had the car ready (we'd call in our request) each time we popped downstairs. The conceirge was excellent, giving me directions and allowing me to borrow tape and scissors when I needed to wrap a gift. Then on our 2nd night when my BF's 8yr old daughter stayed with us we requested the fold-out to be made up (which they had been told we'd need for one night.) It took 4 phone calls and well over an hour for someone to show up at our door and begin the process of making the bed. We were given no reason why... How odd!! I'd have given only 3.5 stars because of that but the concierge really was great! read more

Maybe I'm spoiled by really cool and nice hotels. Or maybe because I love the W Hotels so much and I know it's part of the same family, I have higher expectations. Or maybe because this location is admittedly by it's own staff primarily a hotel that caters to the business traveler, it didn't cater to me, the for leisure traveler, and so I was let down. There is nothing wrong with the place. My Starwood preferred room had it's own floor. My room was reserved and prepicked out. Other than that, having a Starwood preferred account had no other advantage at this location. The room itself was nice, my bed was comfy and great to sleep in but the decor of the room didn't impress and nothing left a significant memory for me to make the hotel stand out in my memory or of my vacation. Service is good, and fast, and the prices are not cheap but you get quality for what you pay for. I didn't have any disappointments here or let downs, I just didn't have any "wow" moments either. Really convenient location to downtown shopping, (ie. NORDSTROM) and Pike's Market. read more

Things started off badly, when I arrived at about 10PM on Saturday night, having booked two nights through Hotwire. Told they only had a handicap accessible room available. Ugh. Well, at least tell me it doesn't have an interior door to the adjacent room, which is my #1 hotel pet peeve. Sorry, it does. The guy was apologetic and said they could move me tomorrow even somewhat early, probably around 12 noon. The room was even worse than I feared, on the sixth floor of the South tower (which is really the third floor) with a view of nothing, and an awful locker room like bathroom (handicap accessible). My plan was just to sleep in this room, move at or about 12 noon and shower there. Unfortunately, when I went down the next morning around 10AM just to inquire, the chubby Asian guy at the front desk was very dismissive, telling me they don't move people before 4PM (despite the fact that many guests had been leaving all morning). I had to call down around 12 noon when I was lucky enough to reach a manager who personally oversaw my move to a standard room with a great view (35th floor), though it took nearly two more hours before I could get in there. So the positives are good location (close to CentralLink train from SeaTac), decent size rooms, clean, very good views if you're high up enough, active lobby. Negatives are some awful rooms (those on very low floors, handicap accessibles), no free wifi in rooms, could hear people on the floor above me walking around when I was on the 35th floor (which is very bizarre in a high rise building), thin walls, awful television sound/picture (what's the point of having LCD flat panels if you're going to hamstring them with a primitive cable signal?). read more

I'm surprised this is a category 4 only (SPG Category). But this place is huge. It's quite unique as its cylindrical shaped but actually I found it doesn't stick out in the skyline. I had a hard time finding it as it wasn't that evident. Rooms are spacious, I got the standard King. They have Showtime on the tv. Only thing is where is the book with the tv channels? They don't put many toiletries in there I guess to save money? But if you call the concierge/service desk, they have a lot of stuff. The concierge was quite nice giving some good recommendations, but seemed to stay with the touristy options more than the local fare. Perhaps I needed to push a little harder to get a more local option. Nevertheless, the tourist options were quite good. Overall a good hotel. Street parking free after 8p. But you gotta get up at 8a to feed the meter. Unless it's Sunday in which case it's free! read more

I love this hotel and will return. From the moment we walked into the door till the moment we left everything was just great. Not one single complaint; that's the way it should be, but we all know it's not always like that. Front desk Charles was the one who checked us in, very helpful and friendly. We needed to park the car and he suggested to park down the street because that parking garage -not affiliated with the Westin- was less expensive than the hotel's parking: I call that service. The room on the 35th floor was very nice. The bed faced the window with a more than excellent view over the city. Especially at night it was wonderful. We asked for a small fridge which was an additional $10. Great mattress and pillows, nice and comfy. The only thing I would like is more shampoo and conditioner; with 2 people in the room 1 of each isn't exactly enough. The bathrobe is super super soft and I'm actually thinking of purchasing one online. I didn't want to take it off anymore, it was SO nice. Down in the lobby there's a restaurant as well as a small coffee place doe quick coffee and breakfast pastry. I think the breakfast prices were a little on the steep side, so we didn't try the restaurant. Location wise it's perfect for those visiting Seattle: everything is in walking distance. It's a few blocks away from Pike's Place Market, surrounded by great shops and restaurants. I'd definitely recommend the Westin Seattle! read more

I have to say that I have become rather loyal to Westin hotels -- for the price, you just cannot beat them. The so-called heavenly beds are indeed that. As are the heavenly baths. This Westin has THE best location in Seattle. I couldn't have asked for more. It's within walking distance of everything cool, including a really large, upscale shopping district, the Seattle Art Musuem, and the famed Pike Place Market. We booked the hotel through Priceline, and thus got a pretty great rate (especially for an unusually packed weekend). We did the express check out feature, which was really super convenient. Another great part about my stay here was being able to take the Gray Line shuttle service to and from the airport for only $10 each way -- it would have been even less, had I have had the foresight to buy the roundtrip price. Oh, and for the fellow female Yelpers out there -- Westin provides a really great Conair hair dryer in every room. In fact, it's actually better than my own personal hair dryer -- I was tempted to leave mine there and take theirs home with me. I foresee myself taking an annual trip to Seattle, and this is most definitely where I will be staying next time... read more

Hey what can I say.... Great location right next to all the shopping and Pike's Place Market. When you book, look for the AAA rate. It's usually 20% cheaper than the rack rate. If you sit in the lounge look for Melody. She has been there for years and knows Seattle well she will give you lodo on the area. Overall, this is a nice hotel and a great value. read more

Great view of the Space Needle, friendly staff, clean and immaculate room so I have no complaints. About 5 blocks to Pike Market, and about a block to the monorail station that takes you to the Space Needle. I have no complaints about the hotel. Bed was of course heavenly. I am definitely looking to stay here next time I'm in town. Tip: The lot across the street is $30 overnight. I suggest if you want to save money to drive another 2-3 blocks and see if there's a cheaper parking lot. read more

First of all, the staff is AWESOME. I've gotta leave some love for these folks. They know how to make you feel welcome. Everyone's got a big smile on their face and is so happy to help with whatever you might need. If you're a hip, young thang and want to spend time away from touristy stuff and in the awesome Capitol Hill area, I'd suggest choosing a hotel above 10th Avenue. Okay, so why 2 stars? There are a lot of little things wrong with this hotel. There's no hotel guide (hours and locations of amenities, in-room dining guide, etc.) - which may seem like a small issue but having to call down every time you have a question... ugh! The first time we called we asked about a hotel guide, and we were directed to channel 63 on our TV (this is after having attempted to click on "Hotel Services" in the TV menu - which didn't work). Apparently their graphic designer decided to save low-res copies of everything and then upload to their TV system. Holy hell is that thing blurry, not to mention the miniature type they used. In our room, the detachable shower head sprayed EVERYWHERE. That was fun. We'll just leave that one there... We've got an outlet that was used by the Hulk at some point - just smashed into the wall. The ironing board is SO loud and squeaky. The mini bar doesn't open... at all. Internet and parking cost an arm and a leg. I don't know. Just too many little annoyances to be able to recommend this place. The location is decent for downtown, touristy stuff. I definitely wanted to like this place after interacting with the staff upon arrival. Unfortunately the hotel itself just isn't up to snuff. read more

Its alright. It's clean and so far the staff have been very helpful. Not knowing what other rooms go for in the downtown area it's hard to say if what they normally charge (outside of the corporate rate) is reasonable for what they offer. I will say, however, that I didn't get any oohs-aahs when I walked in. There fixtures are a bit dated but clean. Parking will run you a grip if you're paying out of your own pocket. Parking is $32 a day with all day ins and outs. You can park half a block up for about $10 a day. There's also a Ralph's market two blocks away if you don't feel like paying an arm and a leg for the hotel branded munchies. One thing I do like is the location of the hotel making it easily within walking distances to some of the attractions around the area as well as the fine eateries. read more

I'm torn between giving the Westin 3 and 4 stars. The hotel is very comfortable, the staff is friendly and attentive, and flexible. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are clean, and the views are great. For this, it deserves 4 stars. But at the end of the day, I can't understand why it's so expensive. I can forgive the lack of charm, as it is a chain hotel. I can forgive the boring lobby, again, a lack of charm. But for $200/night, I'd have expected some serious luxury. I'd probably stay here again, but given a better deal at any other chain like the Sheraton, I'd opt for that. read more

Great location. Wonderful and friendly staff. Lots of rooms and hotel is common for conferences. Starbucks complimentary coffee in the room. Rooms / beds are very nice. Concierge is very helpful and knowledgeable. If you forget your umbrella, the concierge will let loan it to you. i would come back as i liked the location. Close to monorail, Pike's Place, Nordstrom :D, Macys and all the great Belltown restaurants. Warning: bring your earplugs. Walls are thin. try to stay in the North Tower. But it costs more. If you use your AAA card, rooms are affordable. i guess priceline and hotwire is even lower. read more

Pros: You can't beat the location of this place. It is walking distance to pike place, and it is a the downtown close to bus stops, metro, restaurants, coffee shops etc.. If you enjoy walking, and can walk 20-25 minutes, you can walk to space needle from this hotel. The TV in the room has a media box, and I thought I can hook my laptop with HDMI cable to play the videos on my laptop or use my netflix subscription to watch movies projecting to the TV. Unfortunately it didnt work, and I called the room service for technical support, the lady who answered the phone, has no idea what she is talking about. She even got upset with me and was giving me all bunch of wrong information, and I asked her to send a technicial to the room, the technician fixed the problem in 1 minute and he told me the TVs are not set to use the media box by default :) Over all good experience. read more

Just got back from a one-nighter here. Was given a room on the 35th floor with a great view of the Space Needle. The wireless was a bit slow, but the room was fairly nice so no complaints. The prices in the Gift Shop were usurious. $6.29 for a bottle of Diet Coke and a small bag of pretzels We used the conference facilities, and the conference team did a pretty good job (specifically NOT taking the coffee away too soon, replenishing the drinks/snacks, and setting up the AV). The conference lunch was better than average. read more

Just left Seattle and it was my first time at the Westin. It is in a great location and about 10 min walk from Pike Street. Also quite a few places to grab a bite. Check in was painless and room was a nice size with comfy bed. I couldn't decided btn a 3 star or 4 star for a couple of things. One big thing was parking was super crazy at $43 a day to self park and $52 to valet. Never heard of before, supposedly a Seattle thing but that's overboard. So, be aware of this additional charge if you have a car. Also, it wasn't very clear how to get out of the parking lot. If you self park, keep your room key so you can get out. And when you do it may or may not work and valet will have to help you. Even some of the staff was confused. If I knew it would have saved me from going around in circles confused. Black out curtains didn't really block out light so unfortunately I woke up early but that can be minor for some. Overall was nice stay though and nice hotel. read more

I would give it more stars if it wasn't for the cluster-mess called lobby renovation. Any employee should stand back and watch how confused people are about the elevator situation. If the escalators were working, Stairs were labeled OR maybe elevator floors could be more clearly labeled and translated to the north/south tower.. it would work out better for your customers. I love Westin Hotels. The Westin Heavenly Bed is enough to make me go out of my way on a trip to sleep in one. Westin Seattle is a second cousin twice removed from my normal relationship with this chain. Price. Incredibly overpriced for this specific hotel. Not for the location, just for the quality of this hotel. The location is superb. Stay somewhere else, there are many choices. Parking. $45 per day? Then, surly treatment by valet park bosses over not coughing up extra to have them park in the same spot. Actually had a valet driver honk 5 feet away from my rear bumper scaring me half to death because he thought the space we were pulling into on the loudly echoing top floor of the garage was valet only. It wasn't. He was fortunate that I don't own a taser. By day 5 I was quite feral. The bed. Not only was it not Heavenly, it wasn't even a good mattress. Perhaps fair to middling. There was a wrinkle in the mattress surface akin to a sofa pullout bar. I stripped the bed daily trying to smooth it out, but never succeeded. I usually dread leaving a Westin bed. This one left me sleepless in Seattle. The linens were great, though. Noise. This hotel does not appear to understand noise abatement or soundproofing. We could hear the leadership conference attendees having sex next door, the raucous partiers down the hall, and the seemingly enormous family whose children gleefully bounced off the walls. Nyet. Cleanliness. The room wasn't "dirty". You could see the room service staff were diligent and hard working. The hotel needs airing and new clothes. It smells and feels dampish, but not from the weather. It's evocative of a tired NYC hotel in a seedier part. You get what you pay for. But, not in this case. As we were looking for cheaper parking (driving around the block) we noticed it was a pretty big hotel. 40+ floors. Nice cylindrical shape to it! Very clean outside As we walked in it looked clean nothing really ugly was noticeable. The line was long for check-in but seemed to move pretty quick. The staff were friendly at the front desk. Once we got everything ready we parked in the separated West-in garage which was a 2 minute walk max. Cheaper than 24 hour parking which was across the street. Once we got to the room, we were surprised how clean and organized the room was. They provided a complimentary Lavender Oil balm for easy sleeping(AMAZING) The only down fall is, anything that's for purchase in the room is weighed by a sensor and if you remove it quickly put it back because they will charge you for it and it is pricey! Don't touch what you don't want to pay, is the rule! Beautiful view from the 19th floor , great service and parking wasn't that pricey as I first thought. read more

This is a pretty standard Westin....that hasn't been updated in a while. It's very clean, smart designs, helpful staff. They need to upgrade the ratty elevators...quickly. The tv's are pretty pathetic...if you give me a huge room, give me a tv I can see from the bed. You can't expect me to be happy with a 27" tv in a huge room. But not to miss the point, they upgraded me to a huge room on the top floor, 47th to be exact. Views are awesome, probably better than the space needle without having to take the monorail. Service is always with a smile. Free upgrade because I stay at Westin's a lot. Nice location too, right across from a drug store. I always need a source of bottled water... read more
