WOW. I stopped by The Wheat Market on a whim driving by, without even checking Yelp, and am I glad I did. The market itself is small and unassuming, but my sandwich was fresh and delicious. I ordered a BLT with tuna salad and avocado on toasted wheatbread. I can be rather particular when it comes to tuna salad so I was more than thrilled at how great it was. The avocado, tomato, lettuce was all fresh. The bacon was nice and crispy as well. I also ordered a molasses cookie which was good. There aren't a lot of options but everything looked great. The shop filled up after I arrived which was a good sign to the popularity amongst the local community. The people working were more than friendly and willing to help me. I highly suggest stopping by The Wheat Market when driving through or if you need a great lunch spot!

Don't let the name fool you. This mom & pop shop is a small deli that serves lunch and breakfast. Contrary to what the name implies they don't sell bushels of wheat. In a way this place seems befitting of the town of Chester and and in a way it doesn't. What I mean is the interior looks old, rustic, and very cluttered...almost like it's been around for a million years. It seems very well at home in Chester. Yet at the same time it doesn't seem to cater to the whole frou-frou New Yorker crowd and their art galleries that have descended on the town in the last couple decades. What I mean is the whole operation isn't very polished. You won't find sandwiches with fancy names, you won't find an expresso machine, and you won't find any ciabatta or baguette breads. Heck, for potato chips they sell Utz potato chips. Oh the horror, right? It just looks like an ordinary deli place that you might find in any other town, but it just happens to be in Chester, tucked behind a handful of trendy shops and galleries. Food & prices are OK. Order a sandwich and either eat inside or get it to go. I recommend getting your food to go because the inside is slightly stuffy and quite a mess (although there are a few tables/chairs). Unfortuately the Wheat Market doesn't have any outdoor tables and chairs so you'll have to find a sidewalk bench or stone wall to sit on. They do have plenty of parking though! If people watching is more of your thing then I recommend skipping the Whaet Market and instead going to Simon's Marketplace. It's more of a trendy joint and it's located right around the corner on Main Street.

Easily 5 stars. Family owned market in Chester center that can do it all. Great spot to get lunch or pick up dinner on the way home. From deli items to baking, everything I have tried has been excellent. The deep dish pizza is exceptional and unparalleled but order in advance as they take awhile to make. A must try and make sure you're hungry as they are 12+ lbs a pie. The service is consistently friendly and helpful. They go the extra mile everytime I have been in. The owners have even gone as far as bringing in generators for power after an ice storm to fulfill my order (and others) that was placed earlier in the week when every other place on the street was closed.

Chef with his super yummy apple pie!!!

The deli and coffee house has a very antique, old-school vibe that fits nicely with the charm of the area. They offer coffee, sweet treats, and a variety of sandwiches, making it a convenient stop while exploring the town. We ordered the South West and Monte Cristo sandwiches. Both were nicely portioned--bulky sandwiches filled with roasted chicken, fresh tomatoes, and avocado. The food itself was decent and satisfying enough for lunch, but nothing particularly memorable. While we enjoyed the meal, the overall value felt a bit off, especially considering the price point of $38, which seemed high for what we received. That said, Simon's Marketplace works well as a quick and easy lunch spot, especially if you're already in the area and looking for something casual. It's fine, just not somewhere I'd go out of my way for. Overall rating: 3 out of 5.

It's a very cute spot with a charming store area filled with unique gifts, perfect for picking something up while you're there. More importantly, their food offerings really impressed us. They serve breakfast until 11:30 AM, along with a full lunch menu, coffee, and freshly baked goodies. Their baguettes are made in-house, and to my delight, they also offer gluten-free bread! The staff were very sweet and helpful! I had the gluten-free breakfast sandwich and it was perfectly made. It was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. My dad went with the Southwestern sandwich and enjoyed it! It's definitely a welcoming stop with great food.

The shop is super inviting and nicely set up. All of the scoopers are beyond friendly and sweet, and terrific at what they do. I think sundae construction is an extremely underrated thing that I, admittedly, can be a bit of snob about. They are all masters. Nearly all toppings and elements are homemade, as well as all of their own creamy, while not excessively heavy, ice cream flavors! Even the dairy free options are excellent, and I couldn't even detect a difference. I have been 3 times recently, and most recently had one of the best ice cream experiences of my entire life (if not the best, and all 3 times have been among the top actually). I had a scoop of "Pride" (cake batter with funfetti cake chunks) & a scoop of dairy free blueberry lemon poppyseed in a waffle cone. The extra large homemade cone was crisp and perfection. The Pride flavor was a rare instance of cake batter ice cream not tasting artificial, having an aftertaste, or being overly sweet. The cake chunks were massive. The blueberry lemon poppyseed was utter brilliance. A bright base with all the flavor of the finest lemon poppyseed muffin you could imagine with thick ribbons blueberry , I'll call it a compote (pure fresh saucy blueberry). The other 2 stops I made I ordered sundaes. The first was their May mocha sundae including chocolate cake sandwiched between 2 scoops of espresso chip ice cream with mocha sauce, a biscotti, whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles. The second was their classic sundae with brownie between 2 scoops of your choice (tiramisu & blueberry), walnuts, hot fudge, whipped cream and a cherry. Both were phenomenal and I love the presentation. The assembly, ratio of toppings and honestly every aspect of the sundae is perfect. I go at off times so I love sitting on one of the 2 benches out front. So relaxing. They also sell pints to go. I can't say enough good things. Honeycone is a true gem, as good as an ice cream shop gets. Definitely check them out and support this incredible place!!

While they unfortunately don't offer samples, they do offer an ice cream flight with 6 small scoops for $13.50. Tempting, but I unfortunately didn't need 6 scoops so I went with just the two! A cute option nonetheless. They do let you mix and match flavors of the scoops you get, so I got to try two. The flavors were phenomenal, I was so happy to get try them. Probably because I didn't have much bookmarked for a planned trip for stops in Connecticut but an opportunity did arise to try a couple of their beers and so I pursued it in which I was quite impressed! It was clean, crisp and some sweetness at work. It was smooth and very easy to have more than one during a single seating. The other beer I liked just as much practically. This was a milk stout called Gimmie The Gorbage (no, I didn't misspell the beer title this time) and it too was quite good. A very smooth beer in which you will find chocolate, coffee, cocoa and molasses flavors that make contact with your tastebuds. Also a very enjoyable beer!
