Such a solid stop went on the go! I typically stop by here for a lunch sandwich and I'm super surprised by how fantastic their breakfast sandwiches are. I ordered egg and cheese with roasted red peppers. The eggs were fluffy and delicious! The roasted peppers added a ton of flavor but layered so they didn't soak the freshly baked roll. I will definitely be back to this small business for a quick on the go breakfast again. They have amazing chicken sandwiches, hand made meatballs and tons of other goodies. I don't know what's up with the other reviews ppl are leaving bc I had a chicken cutlet sub 12" LTO provolone drizzled with oil & vinegar $11.99 & IT WAS DELICIOUS! The chicken breast cutlet was great quality & pounded perfectly thin & was accompanied by shredded iceberg, thinly sliced tomatoes & red onion. The o&v mixture was EXCELLENT & they put the perfect amount on the sub. ALL THESE things are important when making a GREAT SUB. The sub roll was pillowy but had a nice slight chew which held up nicely against the drizzle of o&v. They have s variety of fresh Italian deli products for sale including Italian bread, deli salads, adssorged chips, deli meats, & hot & cold subs. All the staff I interacted with could not have been NICER. It bothers me that ppl leave UNFAIR reviews on social media. Was in the area, and I'm kinda hard-wired to stop in at almost any Italian deli. So I stopped. And I ordered. Sausage and pepper sub w provy (amazing how we called them "wedges" where I grew up, "heroes" in the Bronx, and "grinders" where I currently live in northern CT). The sausage and peppers were very good, the bread not so much. Maybe it was the tomatoey/olive oil base, but the sub almost fell apart while I was eating it. Am used to the more substantial italian bread that really great Italian delis feature. Maybe a cold sub would've held up better. There is a wide assortment of hot foods (meatballs, chicken cutlets, eggplant, etc), and cold cuts. Prices reasonable. Bonus for featuring Foxon sodas. 3.5 stars read more

It was average. The guy who made my sandwiches was less than pleasant and seemed annoyed to be there. He rudely asked several questions about the items I ordering (I had no idea what items were included on sandwiches because I had never been here before) and when another customer was leaning on the glass partition instead of politely asking him to not do so he angrily tapped on the glass and pointed to the sign saying "do not lean on glass." Ironically they have a sign saying "good help is hard to find so be kind to those who showed up." The cashier was very pleasant however. Sandwiches were good but bread was nothing impressive. We stopped here out of convenience while in Clinton but probably wouldn't make this place a sole destination. read more

Honestly this place used to be great years ago when when Tom first acquired it; the salads were top notch, only bought our macaroni and potato salad from him, they were best around! We have since moved out of town, but decided to get our 4th of July party salads from Tom since his were always the best; authentic Italian salads, so I got $100 worth of salads for my party; ALL tasted like something from Restaurant Depot or a grocery store, absolutely Horrible, not what we had grown to love and cost me over $100!! When to this place today, nice little shop in Clinton next to outlets and hammoneset Beach. Service was good, they have a combination of cold cuts and hot subs. I went with the chicken cutlet which I thought was a hot sandwich but I got the cold version, not bad but I think have I gotten the warm version it would have been good. It had 3 pieces of chicken which was generous, but my fault for not specifying the kind of sub i wanted. They also have a hot bugget where you can buy stuff like meatballs, chicken parm, pasta, etc by weight. I got some stuff which was very good. This place looks like your traditional Italian spot you find in Connecticut. I will go again without a doubt while in the area. read more

This place serves very tasty subs and sandwiches. It has a deli "feel" in the center of Clinton, and there just aren't enough good deli's in Clinton. It's better than Jersey Mike's, though. The best deli on the shoreline is Forte's in Guilford, which has a solid butcher shop and has been serving deli sandwiches since 1914. I prefer their Classic Italian over Sadamarco's. Saldamarco's is a hidden gem located right on the Boston Post Road in Clinton. The sandwiches we ordered were huge and very affordable. My wife got a Roast Beef sub- it was loaded with fresh sliced RB and a ton of veggies topped off with tasty oil & vinegar. I had a house special sub made with Roast Beef, Turkey, Ham and Provolone cheese. Plenty of meat and the sub rolls were fresh and delicious! I would recommend this deli over any chain store. Not one person in here was friendly and the food didn't make it better. My sandwich tasted exactly like a spicy Italian from subway except subway adds more than 4 shreds of lettuce and two peppers. The disgruntled employee added black olives for no apparent reason as well. Ironically there were lots of those despite not ordering them. I grabbed a pickle from the bin and it was horrible. My third time buying a grinder, and there was barely anything in it! The lettuce was shredded, which I like but "could it hurt them to put any more lettuce"l ir tomato?.. Omgawd, like 3 tiny tiny pieces could barely see it the same as the tomato! The grinder was wet and soggy inside. I don't know why it's like that? This was my experience all three times! Every time I called, I got another excuse and an apology! The first 2X I returned to the store and showed them my grinder...would you want this for $13 ..its not exceptable! Three strikes your out! An employee told me that they only have two phone lines and that happens when too many people are trying to call. Two tiny tables for dining in. We had lunch there today after a visit to Clinton Crossing - We had a corn chowder and a chicken soup from the soup bar, a chicken parm sandwich, a ham and cheese sandwich, a Sinatra sandwich, and a Foxon Park soda for $33.49. The soups were excellent, the sandwiches (on a hard roll instead of a grinder) were overstuffed, the soda was very good, and the service was fast and very friendly. The SInatra was one of their three specialty sandwiches and it included Genoa Salami, Hot Cappicola, Sopressata, Fresh Mozzarella, Roasted Red Peppers. Yes it was great - and at $7.95 there was enough to take home half. I can see this being a real popular place for locals, summer tourists, and shoppers. I only wish they had some pre-packaged entrees to go (like I see at the Pajer Superette in Agawam). All in all -this place is soilid.... read more

I used to go to Saldamarco's as a kid, we loved the subs and hot food. Moved to NYC for 20 years, and then moved back to the area. My food standards have definitely gone up and I can be hard to impress, but I'm so happy Saldamarco's is better than ever. Italian and turkey sandwiches are good, as is the meatball, but once you try the eggplant you won't order anything else. Great bread, too. Only $9.99 for a sub where just half is filling enough. A regular spot for sure, very nice owner and staff. Lunch crowd can be busy but they're fast and efficient and you can always order ahead for pickup. I don't write reviews, but this spot deserves one. read more

Food is good but they could be better organized. Waited 45 in two different lines for one sub. The first line wasn't long at first. They had two guys behind the counter taking orders and making the sandwiches. But get one big order and then it's only one guy. Then the "order ahead" people enter the mix and start asking for their sandwiches to hen there should be a separate pickup for them. Then you get in another line to pay. This line takes forever because the lady at the register, bless her heart, couldn't multi task taking an order on the phone and ringing up a sandwich. In addition to your typical Italian deli selections, They sell frozen soup to take home, pastas, tomato products, cookies and chips, coffee and breakfast sandwiches, etc. etc. I myself got a really good sub, some cold drinks for a hot day, a and it was all executed quickly and with a smile. But one sandwich and three beverages... $17? Christ, I'd rather go to McDonald's twice for that kinda money. I guess when your highest compliment for a little deli on the main drag is "Man, that girl at the register is sexy as hell," three stars is all I can offer from an online review standpoint. My favorite place to go when I take the kids to the ocean. The grinders are amazing eggplant and chicken Parmesan are one of my favorites. They put just the right amount of sauce and meatballs and eggplant and chicken are cooked perfectly every time I go. I can not find a place that makes these grinders any where but here. Staff is very considerate and quick the place is always busy it's right on the Main Street on the way to the Clinton beach where my kids like to play on the play scape. They make their eggplant grinders the best. Grinder rolls are always soft and filled with a perfect amount of eggplant. It's always moist and not dry. Wish they were open on Sundays look forward to going again definitely worth the hour drive to go to and enjoy the view of the ocean while your down that way with the kids read more

Stopped in for a late lunch on a work day as I was starving. Walked in and knew this was more than an average deli. Ordered my usual... chicken salad with L/T & hot Peppers. DEEEEEEELLLLLLICIOUS! The Chic Salad was fresh and awesome and they really stuffed the hard roll to capacity. I'd go back as there looked to be so many other choices that looked just as yummy.
