YUMMO! Just went to lunch with a group from our office and everything was delish. It's COLD outside, so the back patio was not an option and seating for 6 was a bit of a challenge. Pretzels were warm and tasty but came out after 1/2 the group was served their meals. Tomato bisque was perfect and paired with 1/2 a sandwich this ended up being just the right amount of food for me. The group opted to skip desert because we were all pleasantly full. I'll definitely be back and personally can't wait to try the desert and some of the adult beverages on the menu. read more

Excellent meal albeit skimpy on the meat. The sandwiches were well thought out with the ingredients. I had the ham and pineapple special with pasta salad and my husband had the Mafia with kettle chips. We both enjoyed our sandwiches and likely will be back if in the area again. read more

OK, this place is great. They have the best grilled cheese I've ever had. They have really cool theme oriented sandwiches thrown in with the regular menu items. The tomato soup is also the best I've ever had. The only down side in my opinion is that it's kind of cold in there so dress like you are eating outside. This place is amazing - a new NOTO Classic. Gourmet grilled cheese and craft beer. Very cool interior and a huge backyard with tables, chairs and umbrellas in pea gravel. Playhouse for the kids. Very friendly service. The sandwiches are absolutely amazing. Highly recommended! Go on a Tuesday or Wednesday after work and stay until they close at 8. Very pleasant and perfectly delicious! Such a cool space in the Arts District. The sandwiches are amazing. I had the caprese with balsamic dressing! Great combo of flavors. The monte cristo was to die for and their most popular. The variety of beer & happy hour drinks was great. I settled for a blue moon, but lots of unique options. The space is small, but there is a patio in the back for overflow options. I love The Wheel Barrel. Patio out back with live music in the summer. Great place for out of town guests, and a really great place to start your evening, or have a nightcap. A shelf full of board games in the front if you plan on hanging out a while. Way too busy on First Friday Art Walks, unless you don't mind waiting a while and middle-age-mom-elbowing your way to a table. Clears out usually around 9/10pm so when you're done at the art walk it's a safe bet. You should go and order an infused liquor cocktail and anything on the menu. read more

I was dining with my son tonight. My drink I ordered upon arrival came 2 seconds b4 meal which had been ordered 15 minutes later. My son ordered a sandwich with no cheese on gluten free bread. I ordered a similar sandwich on regular bread with cheese. We were served the two wrong samdwiches to each of us.... I'd taken several bites from the sandwich in front of me b4 my son realized he could not eat what he was served for serious health reasons, he must eat gluten and dairy free. He was sending his plate back when waitress admitted she'd served plates in reverse order. They took my plate with the correct sandwich for my son I'd taken several bites out of and took it in back. Apparently they pulled it apart with their fingers and realized I'd been served the wrong meal, and proceeded to bring this half eaten sandwich back to my son to finish while I was given the plate he was served. How disgusting is that after serving the meal in reverse order on a dark unlit patio, two sandwiches that looked the same, only my son's was half eaten, they reserved it to him in that state. Half eaten. After taking it in back to pull apart and examine. How hard is it to do your job right? And if you screw up, correct your mistake with a fresh plate and sandwich.....do not reserve a half eaten fingered sandwich. I won't ever go back. read more

Very good food with a nice variety of choices. Staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable although at times the service can be a bit slow. But, that is a very, very minor issue as it's only on occasion and the atmosphere is so relaxing and fun you won't notice. It's about a 15 mile drive for me since they're on the other side of town but worth the trip! read more

This was hands down the best grilled cheese I've ever had. You get to choose 2 cheeses - I got mozzarella and cheddar - and it was the perfect level of crispiness. I added a cup of tomato bisque - wasn't the best I've ever had but still good. The homemade chips were really good - nice and crispy and had a good seasoning. My mom had the pilgrim sandwich and said it was really good too. Overall atmosphere was nice - loved the exposed brick and the light fixtures. Our waitress was very helpful and the food came quickly. We were visiting Topeka from out of town and found this on Yelp and loved everything. We had the everything pretzel with artichoke dip and it was fantastic! We also tried the jalepeno grilled cheese and I would highly recommend this. We finished with the pear dessert and it was delish. The positives: The decor and atmosphere is really nice and welcoming. The patio is large and will be a perfect hangout spot this summer. Their selection of beer and alcohol is impressive, especially for this town. The negatives: I really, really wanted to love the food because conceptually the menu is a great mix of artisanal sandwiches, however the execution was a fail. Since a majority of the menu is grilled cheese sandwiches I was expecting to be blown away with the abundance of cheeses and toppings, but I wasn't. They really skimp on the ingredients, which is unfortunate. An example, my friend ordered a sandwich which came with turkey, and for the first few minutes we were convinced that it had been left off the sandwich until she lifted up a slice of cheese to see the one thinly sliced piece of turkey that was indeed on it. The other negative was the wait and the multiple order mix ups I witnessed while I was there. I know they are new, but in the restaurant business you have to come out with a bang to get new customers to come back, especially when you are trying to attract a lunch crowd during the week, knowing most of those people have a limited time available to eat. I'm really hoping this place improves on the negatives because Topeka needs more locally owned, character places like this. read more

It's about time! Topeka is full of chain restaurants that offer the same old bland "cysco" inspired dishes. The grilled cheese is a FULL MEAL, and a delicious one at that! Inventive, imaginative and fun are the best three adjectives to describe the menu! Kudos to the chef! I've read a review where they were complaining about the price of the beer. If you don't like exotic beers from places in the word not named Saint Louis or Milwaukee, then this is not the place for you. If you enjoy beer that you can taste, beer that isn't 90% water, beer that has been brewed the same way since the signing of the Magna Carta, then this is the place for you!
