I've been coming here for over 20 years because although the owner is a D**k, he knows his tires and can get tires not in stock at Discount Tires. One of the perks WAS the rotation service offered for free when you bought your set of tires here. This morning, I came in to get them rotated, handed my receipts from 4 tires, then 4 more, then 2 new ones, 2 more new ones, 1 new ones due to blowout. ALL tires on my truck bought here. So he says "you keep all to receipts huh?" (I think meaning that if you don't keep your receipts your SOL at his shop). I said yeah, I need one last rotation before I need new tires please, that's included that's why I brought my receipts, the mileage is there from when you rotated them last. He says we charge for that now. I said "that's not included anymore?" He says "we haven't done that in 2 years, we charge for that" I KNOW it hasn't been 2 years since my last rotation, so I said "ok"... so what do we do? He then looks at my 1 of my receipts and says "We ONLY do that when you buy ALL 4 tires here." (Since he was looking at the 1st receipt with 1 tire from a blowout) I said look at the rest of the receipts, you've put all the tires on here.... He then said "well, we charge for that now".... To ME it seemed as tho he was just making excuses to NOT do the rotation that was part of the package of getting tires here. Needless to say I said "ok, it seems like you just don't want to do it, please give me my receipts." I walked out of there NEVER to come back And straight to the Discount Tire Parking lot to order my new tires, they'll be here tomorrow and I'm good with that. Took it too another shop they said I'm lucky I didn't have another blow out / accident with these repairs . Down $1000 Very saddening. He welded the cracked rim and I drove less than 50 miles and his weld cracked. Then when I came back he said he sorry. He wouldn't even fix his broken weld or do anything. He said oh you hit something. If his weld was good it wouldn't crack. He should have prepared the metal on both sides and welded it all the way through. It's a weak surface weld and he was not honest about his repairs. read more

I have been coming to this shop since I moved here over a year ago. I have purchased a few sets of tires for a couple of my cars and they have always been fantastic in prices and definitely service. I recently hit a pothole in these uneven streets of San Diego which caused one of my 20 inch wheels to bend. I have been getting quotes from different places to fix the bend in my rim, some say it's not repairable, others give a high amount to fix and want you to leave it with them for a few days (which I understand). I come back to The Wheel Zone and get the best quote out of all. I ask if they can fix it right then and there and of course they do, I love this place and I will always come back for their business. Thought this place would take care of me after my first visit with them. There were some minor issues that I had to keep coming back for. The truck was shaking bad with the wheels they put on. Guy thought I knew nothing about tires and said it was my truck that needed an alignment but I knew it was the rims and the balancing. They didnt place the correct hub and forgot to put one on so it made it shake. They fixed it sort of after a 3rd visit with them, still shakes but not as bad. The owner also claimed they would touch up the rims before I bought them where the black was scratched but he never did. They had accidentally broke two of the wheel center caps 1 on the first visit and the 2nd on the 2nd visit but claimed the epoxy glue would work and the caps should stay on. I got home today to find my cap missing. It flew off on the freeway and I didnt even notice. So now my truck looks stupid. I sent them a message with the picture of the wheel and they have not messaged me back. The workers were nice to me but that's the only good thing about my visit. read more

If only I can put zero stars because I will never go to this place again. The owner is very rude & unprofessional. I had a cracked barrel & they were charging me $150 with no warranty. I decided to just dismount my tire and put my spare. When it was time to pay the owner decided to charge $40 just for taking off my tire and putting my spare. He then addressed my wheels and said you have $1000 wheels so whats the issue. It shouldn't have been a $40 job & on top of that it wasn't necessary saying all that. I went inside to pay & the guy asked me if I decided to fix my barrel & I said no I just got my tire off & my spare put on. He said it would be $20. So the owner was over charging me & then said oh sorry its going to be $30. Never again will I go back. He was just taking advantage that I'm a female and thought I would pay anything and he was mad I didn't get it fixed there. Si solo puedo poner cero estrellas porque nunca volveré a ir a este lugar.
