4WP Chula Vista - Very poor experience. On December 17 we made significant purchases in cash. Staff mocked us in Spanish (not realizing I understand Spanish), made inappropriate comments about our payment method (cash) , and even shared other well known customers' names in a mocking way. The parts they recommended were incorrect and for a different vehicle, even though they had already seen our vehicle in the parking lot. An employee later threw the shock absorbers on the counter and raised his voice at my partner. As of January 10, we are still missing paid parts and have not received a refund. Extremely unprofessional and disrespectful behavior. I do not recommend this location. read more

This place is legit! I read a lot of negative reviews but I have nothing but praise for this business after taking a chance on them. I was looking for a particular grill-mounted off road lights bar for my newly purchased 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor. I went to the store and spoke with salesman Jesus Balverde. Jesus quoted me a price for the part and installation but explained since the part was not from a company that they do business with, he would have to charge extra for the part and it would cost me more than if I ordered the part myself. Jesus explained they would still install the part if I ordered it myself and would not charge me anything over the installation price he quoted me. So I bought the part myself and scheduled the installation with Jesus. I brought the truck in as scheduled and had to wait for it since I didn't have a ride home. Jesus said the work should take about three hours to complete which I was good with. I explained to Jesus which auxiliary switches I wanted the lights to be connected to and he said he would let the installer know. I was surprised when the job was completed in less than two hours. Everything was wired correctly as I requested and the installation was flawless and professional. I spoke to the installer after he completed the work but I never got his name. Big shout out to Jesus, the installer and all the other staff at 4 Wheel Parts Chula Vista. Thanks for your excellent service. The store is really very good, however the shop is not. Needed shocks for my tacoma, it has "2 lift that requires shocks designed for that lift. I had to go to the Temecula store to pick up one shock & and had an appointment for Friday after Thanksgiving 9:00. 40 minutes before the appointment time the cancel to Monday. Overall, good experience. Customer service was standard and the guys upfront were helpful and knowledgeable. Got tires and wheels put on my truck, as well as an alignment. Would've gave the whole experience 5 stars except I did have a little issue with payment. Although it's not this store in particular's policy, and more so 4 Wheel Parts as a company, it is the person at the desks responsibility to tell me what I'm paying for. Long story short, I ordered parts on the phone and change my mind on it over the weekend when they were closed, so I wasn't able to cancel. Come Monday, I was told I'd get charged a restock fee. It was confusing to me how 4WP was going to make money off me, on a part that I don't even get to lay my eyes on. It'd be different if I went home with the part and brought it back. Either way, if that is policy, there has to be an agreement or some kind of notice given. If I was given notice, I would never have ordered the parts elsewhere or never done business with 4WP. If I place the order over the phone, the policy needs to be stated over the phone to me and I have to acknowledge it. They were nice enough to waive the restocking fee. Other than that, service: 4.5/5, Time it took: 4.5/5, Cleanliness: 5/5 I would recommend this shop and would do business again, but I recommend you look at everything you are paying for and don't be afraid to ask, because they won't be afraid to not tell you and have you pay a "restocking fee". read more

My friend has a lifted F150. She took it in to have some front end work done . She was told to get a quote would be $175 . If she accepted the quote that would go towards her bill otherwise if they didn't think it was safe to drive she would have to have it towed away . She didn't know what to do and accepted the arrangement they wanted all their money up front . After I sent that to them then they took them several days to say the parts were there . During the work they did not replace some of her parts that was obvious they were already paid for . Arbitrarily they decided to lower the front end and then told her it's better that way . She asked for her used parts back they told her they didn't know where they were and wouldn't give them to her . The bottom line here is it was a total scam I lost about $2,500 on paying these people they should pay me the $2,500 the Lost value of the vehicle. They refuse to correct their errors and put the correct Parts on and at this point we're only recourse is to take them to small claims court . They totally unreputable business. They treated her quite badly being a woman they felt free to go ahead and defraud us of our money . Don't go there . read more

Everyone here is practically useless. Came in looking for some degreaser and metal prep for my lowrider since they said they had in stock in store. Cesar Montoya, a moron sales associate checks the back and it turned out to be out of stock.. no worries. He said they had in San Marcos so he put in my order and said it would get here Tuesday and he would call me WHEN IT GOT THERE. Apparently none of these bums know how to use a phone because come Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, NO CALL. I tried calling but no one picked up and was on hold for more than 20 minutes. Finally my wife had to go in there on Saturday and ask these tools if it had gotten there. I was very hesitant about coming here with all the available options out there and the other Yelp reviews. However, I had a very positive experience. I'm pretty new to the 4x4 truck scene so I did my own extensive research online. I knew what I wanted which was a mild lift with bilstein 5100s and BFG KO2's. I was helped by Joshua "Chino" and he helped get a decent deal on all the parts I needed. Never once tried to upsell me on anything and even told me I didn't need the parts that everyone swore I needed. Results were great. I got the rims i wanted with a great offset, the KO2's I wanted, the exact lift I wanted with no rubbing issues, and all within a decent turn around time even after the rims and tires were on back order. Truck came out clean with no issues so far. Customer service wise, Joshua and the other guys were cool. I was asked multiple times if I was helped. For anyone thinking about upgrading their truck/jeep, I would just do some research first to make sure you know what you really want and then bounce the ideas off the associates. 2 years ago , I had ordered tires and wheels, they ordered my wheels wrong two times , and then I had to changed my order because apparently they didn't match my truck... they don't pay attention, I picked up my wheels and no lugs.. then when. Picking up my tires , they had me wait in the back for almost 30 min just to get my tires, the store was not busy whatsoever so made no sense.. Now to today, I had ordered a new set of tires, was told it was gonna be a delay cos they were back ordered, I didn't mind, then I call three weeks and they say actually it got moved to the end of the month, I wait to the end of the month , and they tell me actually one more week, i go in today just to check in , cos they had said 13, or no later then the 16, and turns out I have to wait another week just to get my damm tires.. unreal, I wish they could just be more informative and actually give you accurate information. If we could give this place minus stars we would. Originally we ordered a water tank for our new TRD 4 Runner. They said they would call when it arrived, yet they never did. We stopped by to check and it had been in for a while. At pickup they guy at the counter was moderately personable. The next time we stopped in the guys working there were total a*ses. Their attitude basically seems to be "if you aren't desert rat looking to off-road, why are you here?" Well, because we own a new 4Runner and like the ability to off-road, but we do clean up and don't look like we've just stepped out of a dust cloud. We've spent a lot of money on upgrading our vehicle & will continue to do so, but not at this location. My husband was just in there today, only customer inside and wanted info on Micky Thompson tires. When he approached the counter he told the guy this. His response, "Yah"...like he could care less. I want an over the roof tent and rack combo for my Jeep Wrangler. So at the beginning of August I came to place an order and left a deposit and they promise to get a call as soon as it came in. A month and a week later I called the store for I had not hear them. The rep that answered the called let me know that my order had come in a week ago but they where not courteous enough to let me know, The rep also said that my combo order was incomplete there was no rack and if I still wanted a rack that I can get it from someplace-else (with that audacity). I feel that if I order a combo I should of got combo not piece by peace or for me to get it elsewhere. In conclusion, I feel that I was mistreated and mislead and screwed for all I know the combo came in and they sold my rack to a special customer ( in using good words for not saying their buddies) This was my experience, how do you see it? read more

Cesar Montoya made it happen! I went into this 4WP location during the long Labor Day weekend. I expected some time to pass before all of the parts I ordered arrived and I could have them installed. I ordered wheels, tires, a lift, and an exhaust. The original wheels I ordered were on back order. I was also working with a time crunch. I had to have all the parts installed before shipping my truck overseas for work Cesar Montoya, on his off day, was the guy who made it happen. He text me info updates regarding an alternative wheel option (same wheel different color way) and had me an appointment for the following morning at 0900. I show up and he tells me due to a scheduling conflict, he could push my appointment the next day. After talking with him for a very short time, he looked at me and said "you know what? Let me see if I can't get it done today." Long story short, I picked up my truck that same day, with all parts installed and was able to make my truck shipping appointment. Cesar, thank you. 1 star isnt low enough this is my second time in store both times surrounded by upset customers due to them being promised their cars back Hours earlier. I Originally came in after purchasing 640+ dollars wheels and having them installed and balanced for 100 dollars. After spending 5+ hours waiting in store I left in the peak of traffic therefore not going past 25 mph not having the opportunity until the next morning to feel that my wheels were 100% out of balance the steering wheel shaking Violently. I then take my 2019 tacoma with just over 5K miles to my nearest tire shop they then confirm my tires were no where near balanced. I have spoke to corporate 3 times now waiting to hear back from the regional manager. Absolute terrible customer service and wouldn't not reccomend anyone to come do buisness here. read more

I really couldn't be anymore disappointed in the service that I received here today. I called Monday afternoon to make an appointment to have a nail removed from my tire. I purchased my tires from this location January 2018, so they're still fairly new and in great condition. When I purchased my tires, I also purchased the warranty that they suggested. The warranty is supposed to cover just about everything under the sun, except for vandalism, which I understand. Anyway, I made an appointment for today, February 1st at 9 am. I'm not sure why a simple removal of a nail and patch would take two whole hours after being told I would be in and out if I made an appointment. I also asked that they rotate my tires, which is free, being that I purchased the tires there. The person that was helping me stated that I would have to pay for the rotation. When I mentioned I had purchased the tires from there and had a warranty on them, his answer quickly changed to them not having the time to do it. So, why exactly did I purchase a warranty on my tires if I'm just going to get the runaround? And, now I have to make yet ANOTHER appointment and take another TWO hours, or more, out of my day to get my tires rotated. I will be sure to take my $1100+ elsewhere next time I plan on purchasing tires. I get that you guys don't want to do warranty work because you don't get paid for it, but maybe you shouldn't suggest it or sell it since it's such an inconvenience. Lastly, the work order I received stated that the PSI for each tire was checked and measured correct, that is false! The only tire that measured at the correct PSI is the one that was repaired! read more

I went in today to add some upgrades to my current Jeep and waited in line for 15 minutes to speak to an employee. I asked if they had any other side steps available or could they order them. He stared at me confused. So I showed him a picture from Amazon of some I liked. He just kept shaking his head no. I asked if he had something similar or could I buy them and he install them. Sales team tries to rip you off anyway they can. I bought tires from 4wp with the hazard warranty; of course I get a flat. Take it in the tire is not repairable so they tell me I need to do the replacement. My tire tread is between 60 and 70% I think I'm going to have to pay a little to get it replaced of course. They tell me they don't have it in stock and will have to get it shipped then here comes the scam from the sales team. "You're going to have to pay for shipping on the tire it's going to be 258 to get the tire shipped to our store plus the % of tire mounting and balancing". I was looking at over $300! For a tire they I could order on their website with free shipping for $280!! Went total karen and asked to speak with the manager. We reach a resolution I didn't pay their shipping costs but had to get a different tire. They said the tire would be there the next morning, schedule to have the tire mounted and balanced the 2 days after my original visit. I show up at 840 to get the tire mounted and they tell me it would be about 2 to 3 hours (to mount 2 tires!) I come back 6 hours later and my car still isn't even started!!! I go inside they say they will work on it and I have to wait 2 hours for my truck to be ready while the sales guy laughs about it with his buddies. Very annoyed with this store, customer service sucks. Omar is the only employee I've had a positive interaction with, one shock I purchased came damaged so he got me a new one the next day. I purchased some shocks for replacement on my truck that I was going to install, come to realize I needed to compress my front springs for shock replacement which I didn't have the tools for so I said what the heck I'll have the people who sold me the shocks do the install. Shocks are easy enough to do so I thought. especially for 4WheelParts I mean these guys claim "we install everything we sell" and shocks are easy enough. So 500$ for the shocks and 400$ for install, they install my shocks upside down. So now I have to spend time after a days work to come and fix what I paid "professionals" to do. Thanks 4WheelParts Chula Vista ! You guys can't even read manufacturers directions for parts you sell!!! I do some shopping on 4WP's website. Plug in my truck info and it shows me a leaf pack that fits my Tundra. I double check and read the description to be sure. Yup. Says 2017 Tundra is a go! Sweet. I order it. The Chula Vista location calls me a few days later and tells me it's arrived. Head on down and they'll install it for me. I drive 40 minutes to the shop and the guy says "oh that's the wrong part. This is for a Tacoma." I explain my ordering process and he says "yeah that happens a lot. Our website isn't the best." Excuse me? What? Why would they not fix that!?!? They return the wrong parts and order the correct one. This time it's going to El Cajon. Micah calls me the next day and tell me the parts arrived! Come on in Monday morning at 9:00a to get installed! I drive 30 minutes to El Cajon this morning and the guy says - A. They don't have my appointment on the books at all. And B. The parts haven't arrived yet. How is this even possible? How can an organization be this disorganized, unprofessional and incompetent??
