Service was great. Came in at 5:20 and only a few people in. Bar and server were friendly and quick and had good suggestions. Ambiance felt like a gulf coast dive bar. Stopped in after attending the holiday craft fair at the World Equestrian Center. first time visitor, but definitely not last there was only two of us so we grabbed a couple of things to share. We started with the seafood trio appetizer, which had a nice mix of fried calamari, shark bite shrimp, and a cold crab dip that was served with five pieces of warm bread. The shark bite shrimp had a little bit of spice to it, but not overly spicy. The crab dip had a great flavor of Old Bay, but not overwhelming. Then we moved onto the seafood tower which was a variety of cold seafood. The oysters were my favorite. The clams were my least favorite. The oysters were shucked perfectly and were super fresh. While the shrimp was delicious... I do wish they were deveined and shelled. Thee server was nice and pretty quick. We sat outside on their patio area that is basically in front of the parking lot area but it was still nice to be outside. Overall the food was good and I would go back and try a few new things. But I would absolutely get the oysters again. read more

Three times to get my order right. A very expensive dinner of snow crab. Not sure how you can continue to mess up steaming a crab leg, but the first time the entree came out on top of the appetizer, even after I had requested specifically to please bring the appetizer first! They took the crab legs back and I'm not sure they didn't just sit them under the heat lamp and try and reserve them. If they DID cook a new batch, that set was even worse as they were overcooked and dried out. For what you pay for crab legs, this was a ripoff at best. They really just kinda looked sad on the plate! The bartender, although very nice, struggled to keep timely service at a half empty bar and after having to send my meal back multiple times, didn't bother to have the manager come by and check on things. I wanted to just pay for my oysters and leave, but she cajoled me into staying and now I wish I hadn't . The oysters were tiny, filled with broken shells and poorly shucked. I had to rip them apart to get them out of the shell. I was a single diner at the bar, and I spent almost two hours on a slow night in a half empty bar and almost completely empty restaurant to try and get an order of oysters and crab legs. TWO HOURS...how is that even possible? I orders a slice of dessert to go and they didn't bother to offer to comp that or check in after multiple ball drops! And as a veteran in the restaurant industry of 15 years, no visit from the manager after all that was shocking to me! Bottom line... For an almost EIGHTY DOLLAR meal with no drinks for ONE person, this was very disappointing. I will not be visiting Shuckin' Shack again. Zero stars, do not recommend. read more

Hopefully we were there on a bad night. Staff consisted of bartender, one server and an individual who made periodic appearances to bus the tables. I don't believe that was his job. It seemed he was back of the house. That was it. Severely understaffed. The staff maintained their resolve to get the job done... but I felt bad for the server. For a raw bar I was unpleasantly surprised that both the oysters and clams were not shucked cleanly. Shell fragments throughout the platters. If the kitchen staff didn't feel the necessity to help the front maybe they could have been more thorough. read more

Waitress was new and not very informative. Couldn't explain the pricing deal to us order a oyster. Poor boy ended up paying the 1599 for the poor boy was nothing on it plus an extra $17 for six over fried oysters so ended up like 35 $36 for a poor boy oyster sandwich that was the worst thing I have ever eaten way overpriced food is terrible took forever to get our food. This restaurant is in a large shopping mall and my GPS got me to the mall but I had to cruise around to find the restaurant. We stopped in at lunchtime on a Friday and were promptly seated. I found this place here on Yelp and I usually look over the menu before I visit a restaurant. In this case the items shown on line were very different from what we found on the menu. Some items were just not available and those that were are priced much higher than the prices shown on line. Having said that, we had no complaints about the food itself other than the ridiculous small size of the side of coleslaw. Served in one of those ramekins that you would expect to see ketchup served in. About one ounce. Other than that my fish tacos were pretty good, if again the portion of 2 tacos may be considered small. Most restaurants have 3 tacos on a plate. Other than that they were fine. Choice of fish. I had Ahi tuna and it was prepared well and the fish was fresh. And the better sized side of potato with sausage was quite good. My wife had a shrimp basket with fries and I got to try that too. Crispy fries. Just how I like them. Would I eat here again? If I was shopping at the mall and wanted a bite.....sure. Just give yourself some time, and be prepared to pay mall prices. read more

My wife and I had dinner here tonight. I had the Shrimp Po Boy and she had the Fish and chips. The food was very good, it's a laid back environment and the music is great. The portions are large and the price is reasonable. Highly recommend. They do run daily specials on certain things as well. read more

Great ownership group. Staff so far is impressing. Horseshoe Bar opens up to the outside. Happy vibe, lots of TVs, booths, high tops and regular tables. Ordered the chargrilled oysters. Very yummy so far. Will update review as I go. We ordered the Shark-bite Shrimp, Wings, Burger, Blackened Mahi sandwich and kids corn dog bites. All cooked well and seasoned properly. Sides, sauces and extras are all really good in their own right. There is malt vinegar and Old Bay seasoning at the table. I threw that on our fries. Hush puppies come with drawn butter so take your statin before coming. Overall good experience and we will definitely be back. I sat at the bar and it took about 5 minutes for the bartender to acknowledge me. When she did I requested a water and a menu. She then proceeded to make drinks for customers and walk around the bar another 5 minutes before saying oh let me get you a water. When I finally got a menu I ordered the shark bite shrimp which were on happy hour and the shrimp po boy. The shark bite shrimp came out fast and were tasty. My "sandwich" came out a few minutes later and I use sandwich in quotations because it was so big there is no way to bite it. The shrimp were flavorful and the sauce that was on the side added a little kick. The bartender was not very attentive to me and maybe it's because I wasn't drinking. She was very attentive to all of the drinking customers at the bar. I asked for my bill and gave my credit card as soon as she brought it to me. She then sat my card down in front of other customers while she made more drinks before actually cashing out my bill. I won't be back. read more

Stopped in for lunch with my dad around 12:30-1 on a Tuesday afternoon. We were greeted right away and told to sit where ever we wanted to. Our server was very friendly but she also seemed a little rushed. It seems to be only her and one other server on at that time. We decided to order drinks and to just order a few appetizers to try. The crab balls and crab dip were amazing! 10 out of 10 I would come back just for those! However the poutine not so much. It felt out of place and the chorizo took over everything ( more Mexican themed imo) the special for the day was the shark bite shrimp which reminded me of bang bang shrimp but with a little more heat. The place was clean but theme wise is a little confusing because they have football and horse themed pics up as well lol. We would definitely come back again for food but not so much for the drinks. Which is why I only gave them 4 stars, the margarita was the worst margarita I think I've ever had. It tasted like salt Water and lemon rinds.i couldn't bring myself to finish it. My dad ordered a pina colada but that tasted like lime juice. I did also order the pain killer which was good just didn't seem to contain much alcohol. read more

Went on a Friday for lunch. I was 1 of 4 tables seated. I ordered a southwest shrimp salad. 15 minutes after I ordered a different server comes and says they have no avocados for the salad and what did I want to sub for it....none of the options were appealing. So, it's Friday lunch, usually a busy time for restaurants, and you can't send someone to the store for avocados, when you see at beginning of the shift that you have none. I had to get out if my seat to ask for napkins, and again for a knife. I was seated at a booth close to the bar. The bartender was there the whole time, but was so busy chatting it up with a regular, that she was oblivious to any other duties. Seems to be poor management, or none. Very sad as it seems to have much potential. read more
