It was never an inexpensive place, but the food was always amazing - even on the days when the service wasn't stellar. This time there was nothing redeeming. Overall the experience was awful and I'm not sure we will ever go back. We started with the honey butter bread, which is a flatbread, but is usually soft and fluffy and just drizzled with honey. This was thin & crispy and swimming in honey. Not a great start. Our guests both ordered salads and both salads ($18 each) were disappointing. Just plain lettuce with a protein on top & a couple slices of avocado. No mix of greens, nothing but lettuce. My husband got the filet, which had very little flavor, needed seasoning. The included sides were pitiful green beans that didn't seem fresh & a tiny tomato salad. Thankfully he isn't picky, but it was very disappointing. I got the burger with the bacon jam, which I've had before. It was nothing like what I've had before. The burger was tiny and instead of an interesting mix of toppings, it was just tons of bacon jam - nothing to offset or balance it out, like it used to. The meat itself wasn't very flavorful. Now I can fault our guests for ordering salads instead of meals. Their soups and sandwiches always used to be top notch and since we didn't get any of those this time, I really cannot say how those have changed. But with as bad as the burger was, I've lost faith in them. Even the service was lacking. The waitress was pleasant enough, but didn't write anything down and definitely screwed up our order. Once we had our food, she disappeared. On top of all that, there was a group of 8 right behind us that were extremely loud and obnoxious. This certainly isn't the fault of Stone Soup, but it did mean that even the ambiance couldn't redeem the visit. We are a couple that eat out OFTEN. And we are happy to pay for food quality and experience. But when the bill for a party of 4 is $150 and EVERY aspect of the visit disappoints, then we have a problem with the prices.

I love their corned beef and cabbage soup I ordered a bowl of that, and I ordered the fish sandwich with a side of zesty fried pickles and jalapeños, my wife ordered the traditional Fish and chips. 3 items right easy enough to remember? Took about 15 to 20 minutes for our food to come out the waitress set my wife's fish and chips in front of her. She set my fish sandwich in front of me, and said will there be anything else? I said yes please scratch the soup I ordered, the shocked look on her face said it all, "I'll go get it right now", um NO I wanted an appetizer, not soup and sandwich. 2 of 3 items The fish and chips were as good as they always are, however, the fish sandwich was below par and had a weird Spice in the batter that I didn't care for. I ate half of it and left the rest. my wife was full after eating one of the two pieces of fish so I finished off the other piece. The fries used to be steak cut, they used to be great. Now they went to some weird curly thin cut, which are easily overcooked. In my opinion the spicy pickles and jalapeños were dry and over fried. The bill came to $42, for which I would have left a 18% tip $7.5, divide that by 3 (items) I left $5 tip, 2 out of 3. I don't think we'll be coming back. So sad we used to love this place. But in this day and age, no one cares.

We had to keep asking if someone could get our waiter for refills on drinks. We had a piece of tiramisu at the end to share. We went by the showcase when we came in to sit down .it was ok looked better than it was. A bit dry. Over all a bit pricey, more touristy than for the everyday lunch crowd.
