This seemed like a small place from the outside. Although it was cozy and nice atmosphere inside. We came here on an off day but the food came fast. It was good and just your basic diner food done well. I wouldn't hesitate to come back here. The service was welcoming and just relaxed. Reviews read prior to going were "best food ever...", "Eggs Benedict worth driving for...", "Great service...". We were sorely disappointed. It was Easter morning 2026. We wanted to try somewhere not serving the high priced Easter brunch. When we arrived, one other table occupied. I'm a big Eggs Benedict lover and couldn't wait to try theirs. The English muffin was ok. It was toasted, but not warm. The Canadian bacon was thin, dried out, and scarce. The egg(s) were centered on the muffin and overcooked (hard yoke). The Hollandaise sauce was not freshly made and kind of just a clump in the middle over the egg. Seemed to be scooped out of container, slightly warmed, and then placed over the rest. Overall, the item was room temperature. I ordered a single pancake expecting it to be light, airy, and fresh. Contrary, it was dense, difficult to cut with a knife, and chewy. It was a $3 piece of cardboard. Hash browns were average. Browned nicely, but not hot and served room temperature like the other items. My wife's Reuben was under-whelming. The meat was sparse. The house chips, as a side, tasted burnt and previously made using old oil. Even though the staff was abundant, and our wait staff was friendly, there was minimal interaction. Food quality was checked on, but we had just been served and did not have time to make a judgement call. In a diner, one would have expected continuous checking on an item such as coffee, but that was far and few between. A return visit will not be on our to do list. read more

50's style restaurant with prices from 2022! They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. We have been there a couple of times of which we didn't mind the foods. Ordered breakfast, I had French toast which is pretty good. they do give you enough. The waitresses we have had were alway's pleasant and came back to check on us for refills or if anything else we may need. Typical diner feel to the place. Black and white tiled floors, great look! We go usually when we are coming back from a Doctors office. When your done eating here you can go walk in their small general store or check out what other restaurants they have too. This is located in Tryon right where they bring the horses to train or they have shows with them. This is the only place open for breakfast when traveling through this area. read more

I came here with my grandparents because they love taking visitors to Tryon to see the awesome resort. I opted for the burger with beer cheese and sweet potato fries. Both were so delicious. Definitely tasted better than most diner food, more like you would find at a trendy burger bar. The sweet potato fries had a delicious orange marmalade dipping sauce that went with them which was a nice touch. The outdoor scenery was beautiful to look at as we ate. We ordered take-out so we could enjoy our lunch while watching the horses. First the good- my 1/2 order of spinach salad with blueberries, strawberries, candied pecans and balsamic vinaigrette was the perfect warm weather meal. The fruit and greens were super fresh and the dressing brought a great tangy and salty component that paired perfectly with the sweetness of the berries. Unfortunately that is where the positive accolades end. Service was disjointed and inefficient. Some folks who placed to go orders received their drinks first. We had to ask for ours even AFTER we received our packed up meals. I requested blue cheese in lieu of feta as I cannot eat cheeses from sheep or goat's milk. When I looked at my salad, I commented that the crumbled white pieces definitely resembled feta. The server didn't believe me. She turned around and asked the "chef", and he said with certainty that it was blue cheese. This left me no option, but to open the container and taste the cheese. Of course, I spit it out into a ready napkin as I knew the kitchen got it wrong. No apology, no nothing. Shame on y'all. Seriously. Even after the switch, I found feta pieces still dotting my salad. If you have any food allergies or preferences, I would not recommend this restaurant. The staff's careless and thoughtless attitude sealed that deal. When we finally straightened out our orders, we left to dine at our outdoor table. We realized that somehow we received way more food than we paid for. We easily could have kept the three additional meals, but instead , we trekked back to the restaurant to return the food. There was no "thanks" or no "sorry about that". Now I regret the big tip I left prior to them preparing our entrees. I thought it might incentivize the staff, but clearly I was wrong. Here for breakfast this time. We ordered the skillets, one a Ranchero, black beans, salsa, on a tortilla topped with two sunny side eggs . I had the meat lovers that had LOADS of bacon, ham, sausage and home fries topped with scrabbled eggs and cheddar cheese. It was SO huge I left a little less than half of it. Just couldn't stuff another bite. The menu items are a little pricey, but I don't think you'd be disappointed with the quality or quantity. Wendee was a very attentive and pleasant waitress. We decided to stop off the route to this little authentic diner, and we were not disappointed! The building is just like the old diners of yesteryear. Decor an atmosphere were like you'd imagine. I ordered a Country Boy skillet and it was perfect. Eggs were done well, the platter was full of flavor and even though the restaurant was a bit dead the food came out without any issues. This was our fourth and last time eating at Rogers. While the breakfast skillet and my wife's French toast were good and plentiful our server's integrity is in question. Our bill came to just over $22.42, we paid $40 in cash and was only given $17 back, missing the coin of 58 cents. This is the second time this has happened here at Roger's. While 58 cents may not be a lot of money, it adds up and I consider it stealing. Hope she doesn't spend it all at once because it came out of her tip. read more

Went to Rogers Diner on two occasions. The first time was for dinner and we ordered French toast and a cheeseburger. Both were good. The second occasion was breakfast on a Sunday morning. They were out of milk and orange juice! Ordered chocolate chip pancakes and they were tough, not to mention the chips are sprinkled on top, not in the batter. Since they were out of milk, the milk shakes they were making for customers consisted only of ice cream. I've been here twice now and I'm happy to review this joint. If you want to compare this place with say Denny's then I'd say Rogers is much better. The food is presented very nicely, is of a good quality and portions are just the right side of generous. Our second visit was during the Saturday Night Lights show and the whole Equestrian center was busy. Rogers was slammed but the service and food was still right on par. Outstanding! The land this place sits on was the end of my bus route as a kid. Lol! Coming from a (used-to-be) local, you should eat here. I had the Chicken-fried steak, mashed potatoes, fried okra, and mac-n-cheese. Everything was hot and fresh and really good. My Eastern NC hubby said the collards were awesome (and he's hard to please). The mac-n-cheese wasn't spectacular, but had good flavor. Service was great. Waitress was super friendly. My husband and I stopped in here during the Equestrian Olympics. It was surely busy but worth the wait. The food was great (we both had burgers) I was very happy with our waitress who made sure we had everything we needed even when she was so busy. The most ultimate was the vanilla malt. Went back today with friends. Service was not very good. Drinks were empty often for long periods of time, out of baked chicken, fried chicken, and kids spaghetti. Server was pleasant but didn't seem concerned enough to make sure drinks stayed full even though we went around 2:30 when they were not busy. Came in for a quick breakfast before competing and ordered pancakes and a breakfast sandwich to go. Waited over 30 minutes for the orders to arrive, which isn't a big deal except that the restaurant wasn't very busy and only at about 50% capacity. The wait was made worse by the fact that our inattentive waitress never checked the line to see when the orders came up and I literally watched my breakfast sit under the heat lamps for 15 minutes before I was able to flag another waitress down and ask her to please check my order. My waitress got visibly upset when the second waitress told her I was asking for my food. She grabbed the plates, slammed them down on my table and rushed off in a huff. She never came back to check on our meal, offer the bill or anything. Again, I had to flag her down to get the bill. I get that this is a busy place, but when I came in it wasn't very busy. Since this diner operates at an equestrian center, I'd hope the wait staff would be understanding of diners needing their food as it comes up in order to make ride times, get back to working with horses, coaching, etc. As for the food, it is mediocre cafeteria breakfast as best. The place was not busy, but we sat and waited well over 5 minutes before anyone approached us. The wait staff were bustling around doing their side jobs, and ignoring us. My coffee was not refilled until we were about to leave. Also, there is a sign on the door saying 'service dogs only' and yet a man came in with his dog. Overall this experience was less than satisfactory. the burger was incredibly under seasoned. The onion rings and fries we didn't even touch because they were so bad. The meal was pretty awful (rare for me to give only 2 stars). There were 3 of us; me, my mom, and her friend. They got a chicken salad sandwich and said it was good (bread was good, so was the chicken). The server knew they were splitting it, yet she didn't bother to put it on 2 plates. My mom had chili that looked disgusting, and my mom said it wasn't even lukewarm - she took one bite and pushed it away. Awful. The friend's tomato soup was also cold. The food took a long time to come out, so I'd imagine our server had let it sit. I ordered just a cheese sandwich, which came out wrong the first time (like, how hard is a cheese sandwich?), the tomato I would guess was about 2 years old. The fries COULD have been delicious - key word - COULD - but, were, again, not even warm. After taking our order, we only saw the server once, when she brought the food. When we were done, we made the mistake of ordering 2 milkshakes and a scoop of ice cream. The ice cream took forever to come out, and was semi-melted. The milkshakes FINALLY came out and were good. I believe the problem was the server - I think the food was put out and she just didn't bring it to us until it got cold (tho, she was nice). But, the chili was horrible, there's no excuse for that. We didn't bother to complain. The bill came and the food is reasonably priced, but I resented paying nearly $30 for that horrible service and food that was the equivalent of fast-food - I am kicking myself for leaving her a 20% tip - I should have been vocal about my displeasure. Went for lunch. Had the meatloaf entree and Roger's burger. The waitress, Tara, doesn't like to write things down. Therefore, my burger came with onion even though I said no onion. The meatloaf was burnt on the bottom. Tara then proceeded to ignore us, She only had 2 tables of customers, but she couldn't find the time to refill water or ask how the meal was. First off my wife wanted to give it 2 stars so this review would be in the middle 2 1/2. Ordered onion ring appetizer. Looked and tasted like straight from frozen food section at the grocery store. The ranch dressing it came with was straight from a bottle. I had a chicken fried steak dinner and the steak itself was good. The Mac n cheese is came with was pasta swimming in cheese soup. The baked beans seemed they slid a can over the stove then opened it and put it in a bowl and it was barely above room temperature. They do serve breakfast all day which I would try if I go back. Went here for breakfast one morning while on vacation in the mountains. I ordered grits which were served to me with lumps and they were not hot. My concern here is why would you serve noticeably old grits. The eggs served also had a bad taste. The bacon they served the second time ordered was ok but the first time it was served burnt and fried too long. Highly disappointed and will never return. My husband and I have eaten at Roger's Diner several times by now since it's close to our home, and I have to say it's been somewhat of a disappointing experience each time. The food is OK if often lukewarm when it arrives, and the service is lackadaisical at best. Very slow despite only a few customers being present. Requests for drink refills can take up to 15 minutes or, on one occasion, didn't arrive at all. Today, an extra hollandaise sauce for the eggs benedict was provided upon request but was delivered cold rather than hot. I think we'll wait a while before coming back here again. read more
