Excellent, fast service for dinner. Very welcoming. Pad Thai was delicious with very tender chicken (beef or veggie available) and super fresh crunchy bean sprouts. Very large portions. My partner had chicken with rice and broccoli in a lovely oyster sauce. Again a large portion. Too full for dessert but sure would love to go back just for drinks and dessert one afternoon. food is nothing special. The Pad Thai I can make at home is just as good. The part that is upsetting was we took the rest home, and we just wanted a bit more of the Thai Chili sauce. My parents live in Qualicum and they usually take us here when we visit. A few years ago we arranged a surprise 80th birthday party for my Dad. Roland accommodated the 30-40 of us and the event went off without a hitch. Besides the fantastic, authentic Thai food, the atmosphere is great too, small and quaint. Ordered Thai calamari. Exquisite. Tender, with delicate flavour. Next course was Thai chicken chow main. Again, lovely flavours, nice combination of colour and consistent texture. Disappointing was the green curry with tofu. I am no great cook but this watery insipid colourless mess is not worthy of even a novice chef. Maybe the ladle didn't go deep enough into the sauce. Maybe white is the chef's favorite colour. Maybe Saturday is not the best night to try White Elephant. Not even a sprig of basil was offered to make this plate attractive. Green curry here is not authentic at all. Ps will try another visit. Every restaurant has an off night. read more

I wouldn't necessarily call this Thai food, that would be insulting to Thai food. It was terrible. I ordered the cashew nut stir fry, not realizing that it already came with rice. I ordered a side of rice. Would have been nice if they had mentioned it already comes with rice. The stir fry was definitely not Thai. It was SWIMMING in sauce and very sweet. The flavor was awful. I wasn't impressed overall. the salad rolls fall apart on you when you eat it. the red curry was salty and they don't give you enough rice. additional bowls of rice are $1.95 each! The tables from previous patrons were not cleared for over 20 minutes! The manager was not very friendly. An excellent little restaurant with a real taste of Thailand! I met a friend here for dinner. We made a reservation on a busy night and we were seated right away. They were really hopping but the service was quick and friendly. It's a fairly small place so call ahead if you can or be prepared for a short wait. The menu is quite thorough and features all my Thai favourites. I ordered spring rolls to start, and coconut soup for my entree. The soup was just as I remember from Thailand and the spring rolls were hot and fresh. My friend's red curry was a bit spicier than she'd expected, so if you'd like things more mild, be sure to ask when you order! Everything was very fairly priced and made from high quality ingredients. I can't wait to go back again and try more menu items. Recommended! read more

The best part of this meal was the popcorn we ate after throwing it in the garbage. We ordered crispy tofu and have never seen anyone not know how to make it - ever, but this place succeeded with limp fried tofu. We ordered garlic pepper chicken wings - somehow it was completely flavourless and dry. The panang curry was terrible, I really don't even think they know what panang curry is and that you use coconut milk to make it. The vegetables in another dish were chopped up so small you didn't know what you were eating - oh wait, yes we did - garbage. What crap, on the other hand, they are nice people and if you want food that looks like Thai on the menu made by people who have very little cooking skills and food that you don't have to make yourself then come here. So the owner below insinuates that Thai food isn't for everyone as if to say my opinion is suspect. Well after eating at every single top Thai places in Vancouver I can honestly say that this cook wouldn't last a day in any of them. Also, I don't want ingredients from Thailand, I want fresh ones from here. Also, why complain to a place that just doesn't get it, just put it out of your misery, pull the plug on it and say your goodbyes. Good curries are blended not imported. A chef with a bad pallet never gets a good one. And customers that rave about the friken spring rolls wouldn't now quality Thai if they were drowning in it. read more

Never been much of a fan of Thai food. I was encouraged to try this place by my wife and her mother. Well I wasn't disappointed. The Chicken with Crispy Noodle #10 on the menu was delicious, it is moist on the inside, while the coating is crispy and delicious. My wife has explored the menu more than I. I tend to stay with that the #10 and vegetable spring rolls.The staff are always pleasant and attentive. We have eaten there dozens of times now. There is almost always a good turn out as soon as they open. During our dinners, there is also a steady stream of takeout customers as well. This restaurant is family owned and operated, and I think it speaks volumes that they can close, go on holiday (often to Thailand), and yet we see many of the same "regulars" back in there as soon as they return. In my book they are doing something right. I'd honestly say that you are likely to enjoy your experience. You can also check their menu online. read more

I had been here shortly after it opened and was less than impressed, vowing never again to set foot into a 'Thai' restaurant that was so NOT Thai it was bad...very very bad. A few years later, surprised it is still even around and thinking it must have changed hands, I tried it again...and again, will never return...The food was NOT Thai...it was not even edible. The 'coconut' soup was watery at best, and the 'red curry' was a slop of mush, overcooked and hot and pasty, resembling a concoction from a package missing the 'add these ingredients'....no resemblance of any red curry I have had in ANY of the many Thai establishments I have eaten at...I notified the hostess of my displeasure...it was inedible. We left hungry, disappointed, and $ lighter as there was NO acknowledgement of our dissatisfaction...NEVER to return, nor recommend....waste of time and money. read more

We used to like this restaurant when they first opened. Now we won't be going back. Our food was served almost an hour and 15 minutes after we sat down just after opening with most tables still empty. There was no explanation why they were not taking orders and then when they did served 4 tables who came long after us - up to 1/2 hour later - no apologizes. The food was not close to the quality it was after first opening - neither order was the 'hot' we asked for. We could go on but why bother as we will never go back. Just got back from lunch. The "thai"food was so bad that I'm compelled to write this review. We had calamari which was a few pieces of squid and deep fried bic's pickled banana peppers, you know from the jar. My wife had coconut soup which tasted of lime not a hint of coconut.Same thing with the coconut prawns,they were over cooked and no coconut was harmed in their making. I had the spicy thai beef noodles. It was completely soaked in store bought sickly sweet chili sauce. I believe the owners have never had authentic thai food. However the waitress was nice. read more
