My 50 minute massage was amazing. The room was a comfortable temperature, the pressure she applied was perfect and she used some eucalyptus oil to help my sinuses. My tip would be to bring a book to read so you can enjoy lounging around in your robe after your massage. They also have all the amenities in the locker room if you want to shower and change after your massage. I will look forward to my next visit here. I had an awesome experience and I feel great.

The sauna wasn't working, and when we asked about it, the response felt dismissive and vague. The front desk staff didn't help the experience either--neither friendly nor welcoming. For spending over $1000, we expected at least a smile, a "thank you," or even a "how was everything?" Instead, the only thing they emphasized was that valet was complimentary--as if that justified the overall lackluster hospitality. Considering this is a spa located in Rancho Santa Fe, I expected a much higher standard of service and amenities. The locker room is incredibly tiny and not large enough for everyone to comfortably change. There are only two women's bathrooms and they are located in the spa locker room. Not close to the pool and there were lines for the bathrooms at multiple times. Overall some of the facilities were a bit run down and cramped. This second visit just didn't feel as relaxing from a customer-service standpoint. My partner called ahead for a 7 PM couples massage. The owner asked if we could come at 6:30, but we already had other plans and wouldn't make it. She said 7 was fine. When we arrived, though, we were asked if we could do separate massages instead. We specifically booked a couples massage because we wanted to relax together, so we asked how long the wait would be. She said about 20 minutes, and we said we were okay with waiting. But the response made it feel like waiting wasn't really being encouraged, and we felt a little pressured to just separate. My partner agreed since we had already driven about 25 minutes and didn't want to search for another place last minute. There was also some confusion about whether my massage was 60 or 90 minutes. I had requested 90, but both the owner and then my massage therapist asked if it was 60. Thankfully, my therapist was able to accommodate the full 90 minutes, and the massage itself was great. I do think there may have been somewhat of a language barrier, so I'm trying to be understanding about some of the communication issues. At the same time, when I'm going somewhere for a massage, I really want the whole experience to feel calm and relaxing... not like I'm having to figure out whether my appointment, room, or massage length is actually what I booked. I also missed the heated bed in the couples room. The individual room I was placed in didn't have one, and that small difference definitely made it harder for me to fully unwind. Overall, I still think they give great massages for a really good price. I completely understand that being affordable and good at what you do means you're probably going to be busy. I just wish the scheduling and customer experience felt a little more organized and accommodating, so customers don't feel pressured or overlooked when they already made an appointment.
