I am absolutely furious with my eyebrow wax. I declined multiple times because I prefer to do my own. She insisted she would not change the shape and would just clean up. My eyebrows are completely ruined. She overly thinned them, shortened them, they're different lengths from the center, reduced my arch, and have completely different angles. After crying most of yesterday because it's my face, I'm just livid every time I look in the mirror. I'm mostly angry at myself for letting her pressure me. I'm just hoping that they grow back nicely and not patchy so I can fix them. Now, I have to deal with months of the awkward growing out phase if they grow back properly with any luck.

The Welk does not provide bathrobes - for the pools or for spa use. As another reviewer mentioned, no one is at the reception desk, you can't just stop by if staying on property, and there are no online bookings, so you have to call and it is routed to a therapist's personal phone. Ok, third party, I get it, all can be forgiven if my actual experience/massage is good. I arrived about five minutes early to my appt. to find the door was locked even though it was after opening hours posted, that is when I figured out it is because there is no one working at reception, so had to wait for my therapist to see me standing there and let me in. Spa has no amenities, no locker room, no bath robes, slippers, showers, whirlpools, saunas, sun loungers, pool, etc. The Welk should really build out next to their existing such facilities down by the gym building to make it a full spa experience. So be prepared: it is in and out, put your own clothes/shoes back on after being all oiled up. Facility was nice inside, you fill out an in take form and then your therapist reviews it with you, what kind of pressure you want, any areas to focus on, all in the relaxation room, all pretty standard, so I still had high hopes. Nope! I asked for deep tissue and also had the hot stone "special" and really feel she just used the stones to spread oil on me, used the flat side, not the stone edge to make it firm pressure. I don't remember my therapist's name unfortunately. They do charge your credit card morning of, so no check out experience besides leaving a tip. Big miss for me and I think The Welk overall.

She had called ahead and was told this would be fine. However, she was told they do not allow any outside food and drink despite her calling previously. So, they took them and we had to collect them when we left. Fine, no big deal if that's their policy. They should make sure everyone is aligned on that fact though. Then, we asked if it would be possible to shift an umbrella so all of us could have some shade (it was sunny and hot and we are fair skinned). We were told we are absolutely not allowed to move any umbrellas or chairs whatsoever. Again, we are paying close to 1,000 for our day and we can't even shift an umbrella to make everyone comfortable? Wild! Overall there were several small instances of this nature where the staff wasn't very accommodating or friendly. 2. Facilities. WAY too small for the amount of people they book for services. The locker room is incredibly tiny and not large enough for everyone to comfortably change. There are only two women's bathrooms and they are located in the spa locker room. Not close to the pool and there were lines for the bathrooms at multiple times. Overall some of the facilities were a bit run down and cramped. In my opinion, if you're considering a spa day, go to Rancho Valencia. You'll get your money's worth there. Friendlier staff, nicer facilities, better food, and an overall better experience. Will not be booking again at RB Inn.

The only negatives were: 1) That some of the umbrellas over the cushioned seating by the pool wouldn't lower so even if you had an umbrella over your head it didn't lower enough to actually give you shade. 2) My massage ended up being 20 plus minutes late and then also was less than a 50 minute message. My therapist ended the massage abruptly and said our time was up. It didn't feel like 50 minutes so I checked my phone when I got up. It was more like 40 minutes at most and I knew because I had sent a text to someone when I was in the waiting room 45 minutes before and I hadn't been called back yet. When I asked the therapist if it was a full 50 minute she said yes. Yet the Spa made it right and gave me 20% off for the confusion as their computer system was not working, the delay and for the shortened message. Besides all that, my massage was very nice so they can keep their 5 stars. Parking is free but there is a little walk. Lunch was delicious. We both had hamburgers with a blueberry lemonade. Very nice spa overall.

Ling started with a scalp analysis to check the condition of my scalp before and after the treatment, and the improvement was amazing. I chose the stress head spa treatment, and it was incredibly detailed and deeply relaxing. Joann performed my service, and she was absolutely wonderful--my scalp felt fresh and my hair felt so smooth afterward, and the tonics and products she used smelled incredible and felt even better. Beyond the scalp treatment, she also included a neck and back massage along with some stretching, which was far more than I expected. My mom had a facial with Lily, and we both also got massages from Ling--she was absolutely thrilled with her experience. I can't wait to book my next session. From my very first appointment, Coco made an excellent impression. She is extremely professional, welcoming, accommodating, and most importantly, an amazing massage therapist. I've enjoyed my experience so much that getting a massage every other Saturday has become part of my regular routine. I usually book the first appointment at 9:30 a.m. and do a two-hour combination of Swedish and Thai massage. It has been incredibly rejuvenating, especially after dealing with ongoing back discomfort and the everyday wear and tear on my body. Coco does a fantastic job of making you feel comfortable and relaxed from the moment you arrive. She takes her time, pays attention to the areas that need the most work, and you can tell she genuinely takes pride in what she does. I always leave feeling refreshed, relaxed, and rejuvenated. The staff has also always been friendly and very accommodating with scheduling, which I truly appreciate. I'm sure the other massage therapists at Massage Hut are wonderful as well, but as they say, first impressions mean everything, and Coco made such a great impression that I've continued coming back to her. Per staff if using online booking we have to book it at least a day before (good to know, although I wish we had that heads up/information somewhere to be informed about it). Last time I have booked a massage a day before only to be called on the day of the massage 2 hours earlier than the supposed scheduled massage if they could move it on a later time which I couldnt agree cause of prior comitments I had for that day so I ended up being cancelled. The Lomi Lomi massage is the best! I felt so relaxed and pampered. I had the enzyme facial with Anne, the products used were excellent and my skin was glowing.
