Why not?? Its in the middle of No Where, but very fortunately its there. The convenience store portion has all the basics plus gasoline. It was great to get a snack before heading off towards Tucson. We had just finished visiting Organ Pipe National Monument - a great vista opportunity of the Southwest. Their free public restrooms are a great public service to the travelling community, and worthy of at least a token purchase from the store. The cashier was friendly and knowledgeable. read more

Popped in about a week ago to look around and grab a cold drink and a snack. Neat little store offering souvenirs, hot & cold snacks, fountain drinks and coffee and everything else you'd expect to find in a convenience store. Staff were friendly and the store was really clean. Definitely prefer this establishment to the other. read more

This little gas station is one of the last calls for food, bathrooms, and gas before you head on south to Mexico. I was expecting this little stop to be pretty bad but as I pulled up I was definitely surprised. Not only was it clean but it had everything you could want in a pit stop. I was able to grab some snacks, gas and hit the head before I continued on my journey. The employees were quite friendly and helpful. The restrooms could use a little love but I am sure it's impossible to keep up when it is so frequently used. Outside has a great little fountain and it is a great place to stretch your legs. I typically don't take the time to review a rest stop but this place was worth noting. All and all I would have no problem waiting to get to this gas station knowing it has everything I need. read more

--LOCATION-- really close to the Arizona/Mexico border and coupled with a gas station --PARKING-- parking lot with a few spaces; shouldn't be a problem --STORE-- looked like it was recently renovated because it is really nice and bright, clean, and spiffy inside +beef jerky +meds, emergency supplies, travel sized items (i.e., Goldbond powder, deodorant, etc) +refrigerated items (i.e., drinks, snack items, etc) +souvenir items (i.e., jewelry, postcards, etc) +hot items (i.e., coffee, hotdogs, teas, etc) +normal gas station items (i.e., chips, candy, etc) +there was a kettle corn stand right outside selling too --BATHROOM-- not half bad for a gas station bathroom. There were a handful of stalls. It needed a paper towel restock however. --OVERALL-- nice stop if you're on a long trip or passing by. I personally did not have any issues during my visit. I didn't buy anything though, so I don't know prices sadly. read more

This two ladies working at the store when we came in were so nice and friendly. I wanted a shirt that they didn't have in my size, and they spent a decent chunk of time trying to my find my size in the back. They easily could have just stayed up front and told me that whatever is out on the shelves is what they have, but they didn't. They deserve a raise! read more

Great resting stop. We stop at this place every time we go to Mexico and it's our first stop on our way home from the border. This place has gone through a few renovations the past few years and I believe they are done. They have a lot of different snacks and drinks including beer. They have the Mexican ice cream bars. They are also a gas station. They use Texaco Gas. They also have the last minute necessities like advil, floss and etc. Although we never get our Mexican insurance here, they do offer it. Customer service is usually friendly. Their restrooms are usually clean, they have soap and offer paper towel. They do have a coyote that roams around there, rarely do they come and approach you. read more

Wow! The new renovation looks great. I've been stopping here on my way to Rocky Point, for twenty years. It used to be a bit tired and run-down, but they completely renovated the place in early 2018. It's very clean and well designed, and it has a brand new, free-standing building for the restrooms. Definitely worth a stop on your way south to Mexico. read more

Toads are gone!!!! During the remodel they fixed the water draining from the a/c that attracted the toads. PLEASE PUT A LITTLE POND IN SO THE TOADS COME BACK. Only 4 stars without toads. Of course, the toads just put it over the top. read more

This store is actually in the town of Why and is across the street from where you turn off Route 85 to get to the "casino" (read: slot machines in a convenience store) and the road that will take you to Tuscon. When my father-in-law moved to this part of Arizona he REALLY REALLY REALLY wanted to live in Why just so he could f*ck with people with the name of the town. However Why is so tiny that he couldn't find suitable housing. So when we visit him in Ajo we only get to go to Why to visit the Why Not Travel Store. They sell drinks, beer, cigarettes, gas, snacks, souvenirs, and "Mexico Insurance". Don't get scammed into the Mexico Insurance because good freakin' luck collecting in on that if a Mexican smashes up your car in Mexico. read more

From the funny little puns ("Free Why Fi!") to the cute murals to the whimsical fountain/flower garden spilling out of the rusted hull of an old truck, this place is not to be missed by anyone with a sense of humor and a taste for the absurd. Our family was traveling from Tuscon to Puerto Penasco in a rented minivan when we discovered we had a flat tire. Lucky for us we got stuck in Why at this oasis!! The owner himself repaired our tire while kids and grandparents feasted on a delicious variety of snacks available in the air conditioned store. The bathrooms were clean and fully stocked. Good bathroom, fuel or snack stop, or MX auto insurance on the way to and from Rocky Point. Family owned. They build new bathrooms for more needed capacity. And they've been clean every time I visit. Service is inconsistent depending on what OS staffing, fountain soda machine is out of order much of the time. Yesterday, about 10:30am, I was charged $2 for an Arizona Daily Star newspaper, that has a $1.50 sticker price on it. When I asked why, the lady said no, we're contact, bruskly said it was supposed t be $2, she didn't know why it was still marked wrong. ?? Charged me $2! When I peeled the sticker up, it was printed as $1 by the publisher. Which is plenty for the tiny paper. I bought gas here coming and going into Rocky Point this trip, and a MX Auto insurance policy. Please don't rip off customers on the newspaper price. Finally they are carrying the Rocky Point Times tourist (sponsors) paper again. There really isn't much other to offer here in Why. and except for inconsistent service, the store is pretty good for a stop. read more
