Cute spot for drinks! Very delicious drinks! Great service! Recommend the plantains if you're looking for a snack. Would 100% come back!

As Mooncusser's sibling restaurant, the food quality at Moon Bar doesn't disappoint. Their dishes are definitely more playful and adventurous. For their Restaurant Week menu, you receive an appetizer, entree and dessert for $55 - such an amazing deal. Favorites were definitely their Big Green Salad, Spiced Chicken & Key Lime Semifreddo. They were all so fun and delicious! Service was amazing too. Our waitress was hilarious, friendly, and checked in often to make sure we had a great time. 10/10 would recommend!

We love both Mooncusser and Moonbar. Moon Bar is the more casual option but it definitely delivers in quality and service. The small plates are so good, as are the cocktails. The relaxed ambiance is perfect for after work.

Moon Bar is a true gem! The staff was seriously amazing from the moment we walked in. Everyone we interacted with throughout our time there was kind, accommodating, and took time to explain/recommend things. Special thank you to Jake (the bartender) and the hostesses!! The layout is different than that of a typical restaurant; it's a large bar with lots of bar seating at the center, with smaller bar seating type tables facing the windows surrounding. There was also a coat check and a small standing area where we ordered drinks while waiting for seats to open up. The hosts even seat you at the bar, and there's a fun social vibe to the whole place. Once we got to the bar, the food, drinks, and service were incredible all around. My favorite dish was the chicken things (They were on the spicy side but delicious!) The banana leaf dish and beef patty were also standouts. And then, if you're sharing, the marinated halibut and the green mango salad were a great choice. For cocktails, Jake did an incredible job. My go-to is a Bees-Knees, which was awesome, as were all of the other drinks he recommended! Some other favs from the night were the "Corpse Reviver #2", the "Rome with a View", and a drink that I can't remember, but it was pink and made with Suyo Pisco. (See pictured.) I know this is a long review, but it was all so good that we came back twice on the same night! When visiting again, we will definitely be back. This was one of my favorite finds of all time. Shout out to the Boston Yelpers for helping us find it and to the amazing staff for the incredible experience.

Amazingly yummy!!! Great bar vibe and the food is fantastic!! Tried two cocktails and both were the best drinks!! Two thumbs up!

Decided to visit Moon Bar to try out their restaurant week menu. I'm already a big fan of Mooncusser but I expected their cheaper menu items to be lacking but was pleasantly surprised by the amount of care put into each dish! The sauces came with a playful amount of heat that dances on your tongue but can still be enjoyed by people with a low spice tolerance. Service was excellent as our server was funny and beaming! Would definitely come back and see what the regular menu has to offer but for restaurant week the value can't be beat!

Really good bold flavor food. Not too loud for a bar. Still have good conversation without losing our voice from shouting. Cozy modern ambiance. Service is good. Good came out quickly. Our favorite are short rib that fell off the bone. It's heavy so one or two pieces are enough. The spicy dishes are on the spicy side. Crudo was another one of our favorite. I like the plantain as well. The rest are still good. Drinks are very good. Creative and quite good.

Had a delicious early birthday dinner here!! Personally, I love spicy food, tropical vibes, & Caribbean/asian flavors so I knew I would love this spot. I requested to sit at the window seats and it was so cute. For food, we got the halibut with tostones, curry fries, Jamaican beef patty, and tandoori chicken. Everything was so flavorful! The halibut was probably my favorite. The golden colada drink was sweet, creamy, and refreshing. They also added a little bday candle to my dessert, which was a key lime pie with some mango on top!

We went to Moon Bar for dinner before a theater performance in the South End. Having dined at Mooncusser, we were very excited to try its highly-acclaimed tapas/bar location on the first floor. Top-line takeaway is Moon Bar is an excellent casual version of Mooncusser's upscale dining experience. The food and drinks are inventive, fresh, and thoughtfully curated. However, there were a few cons to our dining experience. First, the selection of dishes when we went were of higher than average spicy-ness. This wasn't entirely clear from the menu descriptions and as someone who doesn't love spicy foods, this definitely impacted the eating experience. Second, the window bar seats were oddly and uncomfortably structured -- the foot rests were way too far down while the window ledge was way too far up...definitely not ergonomic. It would also have been nice to have a hook or something to put bags. However, these certainly don't take away from the high caliber of Moon Bar's cuisine and we'll certainly consider returning in the future! Food: 1. Tuna escabeche (4.5/5) 2. Mahi Mahi ceviche (3/5) -- unexpectedly so spicy I couldn't taste the flavors 3. Fried sweet plantains (5/5) 4. Tandoori chicken thighs (4/5) -- perfectly cooked but way too spicy for me 5. Coconut tres leches cake (3.5/5)

Moon bar is a very cozy bar that's serves amazing drinks and delicious food. The bar tender was very friendly and consistently checked up on us, making sure we enjoying enjoying everything and have everything we need. The food here was very delicious, especially the tandoori chicken. It was tender, juicy, and had amazing flavor. The sea bass was spicy but so flavorful. Wrapping the seaman's with the roti and topping it off with samba and "indian chex mix" created a unique but very flavorful taste. The upside down pineapple cake was one of the best desserts I have had. The cake was perfectly sweet and balanced amazingly with the tanginess of the pineapple. The cream was so light and airy, it paired so well with the cake.

Definitely recommend this place if you like interesting flavors. Also loved the whole classy tropical vibe of the bar with the smell of spices in the air. The Oh Diane shocked me since it was not what I was expecting and the ingredients worked so beautifully together. Golden Colada was also dangerously delicious, however it is a less daring drink compared to the Oh Diane if you aren't feeling adventurous to try their creative drinks. The Junglebird was refreshing and complimented well the fried sweet plantains and queso tapas. I wish there were more queso pieces because I could eat that and the banana ketchup all day. Both bartenders were very friendly, knowledgeable, and skilled in their craft. Food and drinks came out quick but we also went during a slow time so it might be different during a busier time. I definitely will be coming back to try the other tapas and drinks.

After being so impressed by Mooncusser earlier this year I finally got around to trying their more casual outpost on the first floor and it did not disappoint! The menu is full of fresh, bright flavors with an emphasis on really well-prepared fish dishes. The halibut and tuna were stars of the meal in this regard with the perfect balance of acid and spice. The lamb burger was perfectly cooked and the tandoori chicken and bass were also delicious. The cocktails were fantastic with a range from fun and tropical to classics. Highly recommend!

Wonderful food and drinks and friendly service! We had the okra, plantains, and tuna, and I'd have a hard time picking a favorite. Everything was creative and delicious, with a good amount of spice throughout that wasn't overwhelming. Our only complaint was the portion sizes were pretty small for the price. The drinks were also phenomenal. Definite tiki vibes, and we particularly loved the Mono Stereo. I want to come back for a full dinner!!!

Marinated Halibut with tomatillo and avocado, served with tostones. Really great!

In advance, I stopped into the hotel to confirm that a gluten-free guest could be accommodated and was assured this would be handled. In reality, the accommodation was inadequate and, at times, unacceptable. While the rest of us were served scones, my stepdaughter was given cut fruit in their place, and told that was all they had to accommodate. The dessert course consisted of what appeared to be basic gluten-free cookies, misrepresented as something more gourmet - egg nog cookies??? This lack of preparation was both disappointing, upsetting and avoidable. The broader experience was equally concerning. We were subjected to an unsolicited and uncomfortable "lesson" on tea service, which detracted from what should have been a relaxed and celebratory occasion. While trying to enjoy the time with the girls, being a lifelong tea drinker and someone who has been to many times at your establishment and its various incarnations, this is something I have never experienced. The food quality was poor (scones were clearly reheated and stuck to the cloth napkin they were wrapped in), and there were notable service lapses, including being served water in a visibly shattered glass. Additionally, when hot water was added to refresh the tea, my stepdaughter's pot curdled and had to be replaced. It was especially disappointing, as I mentioned that I had stopped in and spoken with the concierge, and was assured, as they had called the kitchen while I stood there that they readily accommodated gluten-free. There are numerous places in the city that could have done this, and if you had just told me that you could not do so, I would have booked us elsewhere. I chose not to raise the multiple issues in the moment so as not to disrupt what was meant to be a special day for the girls and me. However, the total cost exceeded $500, and the experience did not come close to justifying that price point! Do not recommend.

My guess is that this is more of an evening destination where people come for cocktails and the atmosphere rather than lunch. We ordered a Diet Coke, the Scampi appetizer, Carbonara, and the Rigatoni Alla Vodka. The scampi was easily the best part of the meal. It was flavorful, cooked well, and made for a nice appetizer to start things off. Unfortunately, the pastas didn't quite meet expectations, especially considering the price. The Rigatoni Alla Vodka was $28, but the pasta wasn't cooked al dente and felt overdone. The Carbonara, also $28, was disappointing as the eggs had curdled and the dish ended up being much oilier than I expected. At $18, the scampi was enjoyable, but overall I don't think the food justified the price point. One bright spot was the service. Our waitress was incredibly kind, checked in on us frequently, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The restaurant itself is beautiful and has a very aesthetic design. I can definitely see why it's popular on social media. There is also outdoor seating, which I imagine would be a nice option on a warm summer evening. One thing I did notice, though, is how closely the tables are spaced together. Since the restaurant was mostly empty during our visit it wasn't an issue, but I could see it feeling crowded and fairly loud once the dining room fills up. I was honestly surprised by the meal because Gigi is part of the Mazi Restaurant Group, and I've really enjoyed some of their other concepts, especially Kava Neo-Taverna. Based on this experience, though, I think there are plenty of Italian restaurants in Boston that offer better food and better value for the same price. Overall, I'd give Gigi 3/5 stars. The service and atmosphere were both strong, but the food didn't live up to the pricing. If I came back, it would probably be for drinks, appetizers, and the ambiance rather than a full Italian dinner.

We walked into a warm, energetic space with dim lighting, an open dining room, and a constant buzz that makes it a great choice for a night out with friends or a date. The restaurant has a vibrant, social energy that encourages sharing and exploration, and the open layout adds to the sense of activity without feeling chaotic. Rather than ordering individual entrées, the experience is centered around sharing a variety of dishes, making each visit feel a little different depending on what you choose. The tapas are the highlight of the menu, with plenty of options that encourage trying a little bit of everything. The bacon-wrapped dates are one of the signature dishes, balancing sweet and savory flavors, while the patatas bravas, croquettes, and charcuterie boards are reliable choices to start the meal. If you are looking for something more substantial, the seafood paella and squid ink pasta stand out as excellent main dishes, offering rich flavors and generous portions that are easy to split between two or more people. The olive oil cake is also worth saving room for if you want to end the meal with dessert, and the overall progression of the meal works well with the tapas format. The drink menu is just as impressive as the food. Wine is the main focus, with an extensive list featuring Spanish and international selections, but the sangria and cocktails are equally popular. It is the kind of place where you can easily spend a couple of hours sharing plates while working your way through a few different drinks, and the beverage program is thoughtfully curated to match the style of the food. Service is one of the restaurant's strongest points. The staff are knowledgeable about both the menu and wine list, and dishes arrive steadily throughout the meal instead of all at once, creating a relaxed dining pace. The pacing allowed us to enjoy each dish without feeling rushed, and the team checked in at the right moments without hovering. The restaurant is consistently busy, especially on weekends, so reservations are highly recommended. Even with a reservation, there can occasionally be a short wait, and the lively atmosphere means the dining room can get quite loud during peak hours. The energy of the room is part of what makes the experience work, but it is worth keeping in mind if you are looking for a quieter dinner. Barcelona Wine Bar is one of the best places in Boston for Spanish-inspired tapas and wine. The combination of flavorful shareable dishes, a well-curated drink menu, attentive service, and vibrant atmosphere makes it an easy choice for group dinners, celebrations, or date nights. It offers a meal that feels both communal and polished, with a setting that encourages slowing down and enjoying the evening. Just be prepared for the energetic environment and plan ahead if you are visiting during the busiest times.
