Very pricey cocktails but we enjoyed the view of the sunset. Not as much of a view of the Calgary tower as we were hoping to see (this is the view from the very back table in the dining area, the view is worse closer to the bar) but still fun!

    Cocktail time !

Lovely views at the top of the Dorian hotel rooftop terrace Nice atmosphere attentive staff and the heaters are perfect to take the chill off the evening !

I had a night of layover in Calgary and just decided to have dinner in downtown area. I didn't do any research, kinda just google for dinner as the plane landed. Found this restaurant and thought that the menu was interesting, so I decided to give it a try. Upon arrival, I was seated immediately. The server came by and introduced her name and mentioned about the availability of oysters. I ordered the oysters and saw the tasting menu which I asked about; I learned that the tasting menu was by reservation only, but she offered to ask the chef to see if the kitchen can make that happen since I am just one person. She came back and said there was no problem, so I went with the tasting menu. As each dish is being served, the server would describe and explain what each dish is... forgive me that my memory could not remember what the ingredients each dish they described. Each dish has a very unique flavor; the scallop and fish were cooked perfectly, the bison was super tender... Think it was about the third dish, the chef personally ran the food to my table and introduced himself. All the food tastes very wonderful with appealing presentation. For service, aside from having the knowledge about each dish, they take care of the table to another level. For example, after about every 2 dishes, my fork and knife would be replaced with table wiping all clean before continuing food serving. They would continue to check on me about the pace of food serving, and how each dish tastes. As I took a sip of the water below half of the glass, they would come forward and refill my water. At the end of the meal, the manager on duty came up and introduced himself; and we chatted for a bit. Just as what I told him and I am going to restate it here as well: Amazing food and outstanding service!!

Nice rooftop area with heaters. Very good service, nice staff. Food was disappointing. Bread tasted stale, dishes tried too hard to be fancy but missed the mark... My quail was chewy and not very flavorful. The lamb sausage inside was forgettable. Not a good value.

The scenery, Skyline food and service was awesome! We spent at mint but fun and good vibes.

The final touch on an incredible dining experience!

We visited The Wilde because we were staying at The Dorian Hotel. It was wonderful! The ambience and service was 5 stars. We tried the chef's tasting. It was such a delightful culinary journey! We enjoyed every minute of it. I also appreciated how they offered several delicious options for cocktails as well as mocktails. Thank you to the chefs and all of the staff for making our experience so pleasant!

The Wilde Rooftop is an upscale bar at the top of The Dorian Hotel downtown. The cocktail menu is imaginative and it's hard to choose which drink to try (I tried A Trip to Banff, and it was excellent). There are beer, wine and spirit choices too. Seating is comfortable and the vibe is relaxing. Service is friendly and attentive. Great spot for an after dinner, after work or night out drink with friends drink.

    Classic (dessert)

Our group of friends loved our dining experience! We enjoyed the halibut, bison, beef and vegetarian entrees. My entree, the Haida Gwaii halibut, was absolutely delicious. The halibut was perfectly prepared, the presentation was marvelous and mix of flavors was spectacular. The entire staff were extremely friendly, particularly Mita and Elaine who made us feel like family. We greatly enjoyed the sweeping view of Calgary. Our dessert options, the Modern and the Classic, were beautifully presented and thoroughly enjoyed by the table. A surprise visit from the chef made the evening! I'm from San Francisco and we're pretty blessed with our food choices, but this meal absolutely would shine there as well. Definitely try out this new gem!

We were greeted by a group of bartenders (who all happened to be wearing toques) when we walked in, and I felt both welcomed and slightly out of place (no toque). The cocktails were meticulously crafted--priced at $15-20 a drink, it's on par with bigger cities like Vancouver and Toronto, but they also live up to the standard. Honestly, the highlight of our visit to Missy's was the Missy's This That charcuterie board. Each piece of cured meat was sliced impossibly thin, the olives were meaty and delicious, and the cheeses were carefully selected to complement everything. I loved that it also came with a side of thick cut bread and pickled vegetables. One of the best charcuterie boards I've had at a restaurant for sure. Not cheap but worth the pretty penny on a slightly fancy night out.

The offered drinks and served us and offered pleasant conversation. Our party arrived and we moved to our table. We also realized quite quickly our waitress must be new. She had none of the answers to the menu questions we asked. In top of the slow and poor service the noice level between the music and the other guest was mind numbing. They must do something about the sound that carries in the room. Not one person at our table finished or enjoyed the food. We feel the chef must have overpowered everything with salt. This was a fail. 3 starts for the nice staff

Since the other four people already finished their meal, I quickly finished half of it. The manager came over to ask about the steak, but did not really apologized for overcooking this $55 CAN steak. Definitely not recommend coming to this place for steak.

Oakley was our server and he was so kind and informative about the menu and how the restaurant operates. The oyster of the week were the Melpeque's which starts off salty, but compensates the saline flavor with a boom of sea mineral richness. Their house relish and vinegar combined with the oysters intensified the experience and we also had to get the Oysters Florentine which were also decadent and cheesy in the best way possible. Oakley checked in on use occasionally and was also kind enough to give us (since we're Californians) some of the usual things that take place in Calgary (weather, places to check out and etc.) Definitely returning here if we make another trip to Calgary, shout out to Oakley!

When we arrived at the restaurant we were greeted right away but even though we had reservations there was some talk about where to sit us. The main dining was near full and so they offered patio or upstairs. It would be more private upstairs as there was no one up there but they warned us that service was slow. Eventually, they sat us in a booth in the main dining area but it was touch and go in the beginning. Not a great impression. Our server mentioned to us that he was new. We found him very friendly and knowledgeable. We came here for the oysters - we ordered 1 Irish Point, 1 Fanny Bay and 2 Malpeque (I wanted to try one). The Malpeque also was the feature Oyster which means they are $1.50 each. I don't usually eat oysters but thought it was good. My wife says the Irish Point and Fanny Bay were good. Because the Malpeque was good and really meaty we ordered 7 more (I wanted one more). Oysters 5* Lamb Shank 4* - Wife ordered this and said it was tender and good. Lamb Burger 2* - Daughter ordered this and patty was small and dry. Lobster Pasta 4* - Son ordered this and lobster tail was meaty and sweet ad pasta was tender. I decided to order 3 appetizers for my meal. Onion Rings - 3* - basic Korean Spicy Chicken Wings 4* - Good kick, but the wings were not that meaty. Seafood Chowder 4* - Lots of things in the chowder. Broth was flavourful but could have been thicker. Service before we got our meals (ordering) and during our meal was great. 5*. Getting the bill and getting our leftovers packed was a little slow. 3*. Decor inside was quite nice - old world feel. We may not come back for dinner but maybe for the Oysters, some appetizers, and drinks.
