As a golfer who tees off from the forward tees, it was quite a long course. With the extra water on the course and getting no roll, it was even longer. Despite the challenges, the holes were beautiful and fun to play. Every staff person we met made us feel welcome and were helpful as we were first time players. Carts had screens to indicate yardage. They also had messaging such that if you left a club on a hole, you could text a ranger and they would retrieve it for you. Really great experience.

The Tamarack is inexpensive but I suspect its the only way they can get people to eat there. Compared to the crappy expensive breakfast we had the day before at another local restaurant, for $5.95 this was a huge value! Compare that to your average mediocre-at-best chain restaurants. The dinner also was very nice with a large variety of fish, seafood, ribs, steak, chicken, etc. Everything we tried was very good including the fresh green beans. The salmon was excellent as was the catfish, the ribs were very good, the seafood was fried but of a good quality, the steak was surprisingly good, and the deserts were very very good.
