This is our favorite VA campground. We had a delux pull through, spacious with Trex table, chairs and even a wooden bench swing, stone patio and gravel covered parking. Some shade, electric, cable and sewer. The place was beautifully landscaped and immaculate. The pool was large with kids play area and attached snack bar. The playgrounds were state of the art. There was a large fenced dog park complete with doggie bath station! A lovely petting zoo visits on weekends and there are plenty of gam s and activities to keep families of all ages very happy. Minutes from Busch Gardens and Colonial Williamsburg, this place is a perfect camping destination! Staff was super friendly and helpful. read more

May family and I stayed in one room cabins Mother's Day weekend. There was plenty of room for the 7 of us. The beds are very comfortable. The rooms were clean and the air conditioning and heating worked well. My only complaint was my cabin was musty but the other cabin was fine. I guess that is to be expected. I also wish the bathhouses were closer to most cabins and not just the RVs. Otherwise, the staff was helpful and friendly. The activities that we were able to do were fun. I couldn't believe there was an outdoor heated pool! I loved doing laps outdoors in May! Checkout by Jenna was quick and painless. The store is really cute, and the coffee is great. One trip to this KOA and my husband and I want to check out KOAs in all the places we visit. read more

This is probably one of my favorite KOAs in terms of how well taken care of the sites are, etcetera. The issues we had (2 completely different nights - one in July, the other in August) were more related in how the staff deals with other campers. Pros - the stores here are beautiful and well stocked. There's free coffee in the morning from 8-10. The tent sites are very clean and there's little trash at them. Overall, great way to save money on vacation! read more

Bouncy pillow! Hey, the sign said from 8 to 80, and I'm definitely in between! They actually encouraged us to play with it, and I felt like a kid all over again! It was SO MUCH FUN! Like a bounce house, but a giant pillow! On top of it, the grounds at KOAs are always clean, the staff is always friendly and the store always has what you're looking for. Within a few minutes of Colonial Williamsburg and Busch Gardens, a great location and much cheaper than a hotel. Bath houses were clean and spacious. Free pancakes on Saturday and all of October was Halloween every weekend. Williamsburg isn't a destination we'll hit every single year, but I do recommend this location for camping, absolutely. read more

We travel all around the country with our travel trailer and this was a great park to stay at whether you just want a campground to hang out at or if you are exploring the endless parks around Williamsburg. Located about 15 minutes away from Busch Gardens and Water Country, it is very convenient. There are an endless number of activities and things for kids to do. The bathrooms were clean and in nice shape. Would definitely recommend this as a top KOA campground to enjoy. read more

Our family of 4 spent 4 nights at this KOA. We spent a little bit extra for a premium site, and it was worth every penny! We had a beautiful site, complete with a wooden swing, a outdoor table, and a fire pit. The location of the campground was perfect! We were 15 minutes from everything - Busch Gardens, Colonial Williamsburg, and Jamestown. We were able to purchase discounted tickets for all of these places in the office. Even though we had plenty to keep us busy in Williamsburg, the campground offered great options too! There were movies and activities every evening and the pool and bounce pillow were a huge hit with the kids. The office staff was even great in allowing us to arrange a late check out! This was a wonderful trip and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a family friendly get away!! read more

We just returned from a long weekend spent camping in Williamsburg at the KOA. I was very happy overall with our stay. All facilities are clean, the staff is friendly and they had so many activities planned for the kids over the holiday weekend. I was really impressed with how well kept the property is - the bathrooms were warm, clean and very well spaced throughout the campground for quick and easy access. I had plenty of hot water both days, but my husband did say his was cold the entire time. Not sure if he just got a bum stall! Upon arrival they had a staff member escort us to our tent site - the site was large, and we quickly found a flat spot to pitch our tent. One of the few negatives I have to say is that our site was missing a fire pit and it took a few hours for the staff to locate one. It's not that they weren't working on it, but it was frustrating as we checked in at 6 so by the time we got the pit it was getting dark and we still needed to cook dinner. The campsite is easily navigated, the pool was not overcrowded, the splash pad and baby pools were both large and very clean. I didn't feel like the main pool was particularly heated, but it was also an 80+ degree weekend so it didn't need it. Outdoor movies both nights but we only attended one - LOTS of seating available. The kids enjoyed the jumping pillows - especially the surrounding sand that they could dig in. :) I like that they had separate areas for younger and older kids. Proximity to downtown Williamsburg and Busch Gardens was a definite plus. As well as being close to other commercial options (i.e. Starbucks and a killer donut place - Duck Donuts)! I like camping, but I'm more 'camping light' so if I like that I'm not truly out in the middle of nowhere! Lastly, Wi-Fi was actually pretty impressive! I know there were some complaints about it here, but for the most part connectivity was good. I tried to set my iPad to download a movie for the long ride home overnight and that failed, but I honestly didn't expect it to go through. :) But for general use throughout the weekend it was great. Definitely a bonus amenity that you don't think you'd get at a campsite! read more

We stayed here Labor Day weekend. The staff was tremendous. Friendly and followed all the Covid guidelines. My issue was our spot. It was not big rig friendly at all. When I walked out my door there was my neighbors sewer hose. Not his fault. It was a small spot. We moved the picnic table to the end of our spot and it felt like we were in the road eating. There was no place for us to put our chairs that is how small the spot was. We tried to change spots but understandably it was a holiday weekend and they were booked. I feel KOA should not allow a large rig (43 feet) on the spot we were on. Frankly in the area we were in at the campground there were very few big rig friendly spots. I give it 4 stars only because the staff was wonderful. Probably won't go back there. read more

Amazing campgrounds and sites! Let me start off that I called the night before and Justin was super helpful making the reservation and giving me tips for the site selection. When we arrived, check in was less than 5 min and an attendant drives you to your site. They have lots of activities lined up for the kids, along with all the amenities they already include. The jumping pillow, sitting zip-line, and gold mine were my boys favorite. The pool was very spacious, clean and even had a splash area. My boys specially loved the game room and at $.50 for a game of pool, I call that a hit! The poolside ping-pong table, corn hole, and ice cream shop were also a favorite. The location even offered "movies under the stars", great for the whole family. The location was relatively close to Colonial Williamsburg and Wet Country USA which was our motive for the trip. Overall, we had an amazing experience and highly recommend these grounds. Will definitely use them again, as I hear October is quite fun there... read more

My husband and I stayed at the williamsburg koa campground for 3 night in september. It was our anniversary. We usually go tent camping every sept, but my husband is over the setting up aspect. So we stayed in a one room cabin with a full bed and a twin bunkbed. Nice big porch with a picnic table and a beautiful nature view. We had no neighbors, it's kind of off season at the end of September. The cabin was so cute and cozy. Decorations were cute, room was clean, beds were comfortable, ac worked great. We also went for a swim in the pool. The water was very nice, everything was maintained well. We also brought our dogs along and we went to check out their dog park. It's small but nice, the dogs seemed to like it. There was a trail leading to a lake. Pretty scenery, easy to walk. Great view of the lake. The restrooms are clean and stocked with tp. All the employees were very accommodating and friendly. I can't wait to go back!!!!! read more

We stayed on the 'quiet side' in a rustic cabin. Beautiful campground seemingly in the middle of nowhere. Lots of acreage with nice walking trails. Super pet friendly. Request a secluded cabin if you can as our cabin was clustered together facing several others at an uncomfortably close distance. Lynn at the camp store was AMAZING and very knowledgable! Restrooms were a bit outdated but worked. Pool was nice. Will return! read more

So disappointed in this KOA. Website did not state $20 per day pet fee for cabin nor was it on my reservation summary even though I listed 1 dog. Added it to my bill on arrival. Website said and showed picture of the Saturday free charity pancake summer breakfasts. No such thing. Check in person said she didn't know what we were talking about and it did NOT happen. Website suggested there would be great Labor Day weekend special activities. Had 1 on 2 days and 2 on 1 day short kids activity. Rules say you must sweep and wash dishes before checking out but no dustpan and the dish detergent bottle was empty and no dishrag. Ran water through Keurig in cabin and it came out nasty brown, Will charge over $2 with tax for a cup of brew coffee in the store. At almost $300 per night how about a free cup? Site was peaceful and KOA is convenient location. Extremely overpriced for what we were promised but not delivered. Will not fall for that again at this campground. Shame on the owner/operator. read more

Stay there for a few months in the extended stay campground. I don't know how it is up top but they don't care about the extended stay campers at all. Zero phone service. WiFi is horrible when it's working. Argued for 3 weeks with them about the outside breaker being bad they wanted to blame it on my camper. Was getting off work for it to be 100 degrees inside. Finally got them to fix it and the problem went away. You never know what time trash is getting picked up and then they complain when animals get into it. You'd think with their 25 "managers" they could get a decent schedule worked out. Some of the laziest managers I've ever seen. Every time you call the managers are out I guess nobody else can do anything. I've been to almost every state and this is the worst campground I've stay in as far as customer service. Also for the price it's not that nice rundown gravel lots that constantly have standing water. If I had to do it over again i would've paid triple for a hotel. read more

We were so excited to stay at this beautiful campground for Labor Day weekend. We saw the petting zoo advertised for a special event and looked up the photos on Facebook to see everyone wearing masks. My husband and I have been here twice on vacations and stayed in the same yurt both times. The yurt is super clean, has a mini fridge, a microwave, a heating/cooling unit, a couch thing, and such a comfortable bed. I like it better than my bed (which is too firm and my back hurts when I wake up). There is a fire pit and a bench outside. I just love this place so much, it's just the right amount of seclusion I need since it wasn't busy. Both times we went, it was the beginning of fall and it was extremely quiet. There were very few other guests there. The front desk/store has great things we may need. We get s'mores materials, they even have s'more sticks and ice cream! There are other cute things like apparel, mugs, toys, etc. All of the staff are so polite and checked with us that we are enjoying ourselves. The bathroom building is always super clean and the hot water never ran out on me. We are definitely coming back! read more

We have some experiences with KOAs and all of them have been positive. We stayed on the "quiet side" of this KOA which was indeed quiet. Only a few other families were staying close by us. KOAs have always accommodated us with our dog as well. We stayed 3 nights during the week. Thursday we went to the pool and they had an hour when kids could make tie dyed shirts ($6). Someone was there to help the kids get the perfect shirt and the kids LOVED their shirts afterwords. Staff was friendly, showers clean, cabin was clean, area around the cabin was clean. read more

We stayed at this campground in June 2018. If you visit the website, the campground looks amazing, but don't let that fool ya. The campground is divided into 2 totally separate campground: The Colonial Side and the Williamsburg side. They advertise an array of amenities but these are ONLY available on the Colonial side, but the site does not specify that. And if you are booked on the Williamsburg side, most commonly known as the quiet side, you cannot use the other campground...it is totally off limits. The Williamsburg side has nothing except a small dirty pool. The campsites are muddy when it rains and the WiFi....forget it. They advertise WiFi but the connection strength is poor to nothing. Same with cellular service. The only way you will connect is by going to the store. The quiet side is located down a hill in a hole. I would never recommend this side of the campground to anyone. And if you are looking for extended stay, be aware that the quiet side is the only thing you can get. There are other campgrounds in the area that are much better. This campground may have reasonable prices but keep in mind, you get what you pay for, or in this case, you don't get what you pay for. Camper Beware! read more

We stayed at a cabin with heat and TV and a little firepit. The night's sleep was awesome (great & comfy mattresses for a camp cabin). Best of all - we'd never taken the children camping before and they loved the whole experience - the bathrooms were heated and CLEAN. They loved the banana bike rentals and the jumping pillow and they had many activities for the children: Hayride, Pumpkin Painting, a clown, Costume Parade and Trick or Treating, and a great pancake breakfast on Saturday morning. We have stayed in campgrounds across the country. That said, this one isn't "bad." We stayed on the "quiet" side, not by choice as it was where they chose to put us. It was fine, no kids running around. The dog park is incredibly small, so if you have a couple of larger dogs, it doesn't really work and there isn't a good alternative for them to get rid of excess energy. There is a larger field area if you walk towards the cabins, and if you've got good recall it's a great place for the dogs to run. They should fence that in and make it the K9 Kamp. The bathrooms were okay. Cobwebs galore in the women's bathroom. The showers are separate from the toilets/sinks, which is a bit inconvenient. The RV area is extremely wet, granted we did get a lot of rain while we were there, but the puddles never seemed to go away. The wi-fi leaves a lot to be desired, as it's almost non-existent. (I know, but I still had to work while away.) The daily rate also seemed a bit high. We will probably look for something else next time we come to Williamsburg. read more

First time staying here. It was a great experience. Rented a cabin, it was very clean. We arrived way after check-in time and they left a map of our cabin taped to the window and the key was in the door ready for us. My family has been here 3 times this summer, once for Father's day weekend, once for "Frozen" weekend and this past weekend just because it is so ridiculously awesome! We come tent camping and all the sites we have stayed at have been more than accommodating for our family of 5! The bathrooms/bathhouses are within walking distance; as well as the pool and game room! They have hand scooped Hershey's ice cream from 5-9pm & pancakes/coffee in the morning 8-10am! The kids (& adults) LOVVEE the jumping pillows! They even do "movies under the stars"! OH and the man that serves the ice cream/pancakes is the coolest! He gave us a card for a free stay on our third visit bc we live over an hour away! Talk about customer service! KOA is probably one of the best places to take your kids, even if its just over night! read more

After driving for 11 hours we get to Koa camp ground they put us In the wrong cabin so I explain to them I reserved the deluxe lodge cabin they proceed to make us wait 30 mins to move us to another cabin then they argue with me for about 15 mins telling me my mother and father have to go to another cabin and that I have to pay for it but my cabin sleeps six (I had 4 adults 3 children mind you one is 7 months old sleeps in a pack n play )why do I have to get another cabin because you have a party of seven and this only sleeps six after he argued with me for another 15 minutes he realized I was correct so I proceeded to unpack putting my food away that I spent $500 on well the next day we went to get our meat out of the fridge and it all went bad the fridge didn't keep it cold the freezer had a huge chunk of ice in it not sure if that's why it wasn't keeping the fridge cold then when the fridge did start keeping things cold it would freeze everything mind you I set the dial to 4 !!! Then my child is eating her cereal and freaks out because her bowl is full of ants!! Of course she started gagging to I continue to look threw my food and yup ants are in everything !!!! So I had to go shopping all over again and put everything in zip lock bags and still the ants are everywhere all over are beds biting us biting my 7 month old !!! So since my baby has bites on her I go to give her a bath to calm her skin down well the tub was disgusting !!! Soap scum build up everywhere the toilet also was dirty as were the floors I don't think they even bothered to clean the cabin before we got there so we decided we want to just leave early because I didn't pay $1500 to be in such filth as I explain this to the manager he says this is normal ants have been around since dinosaurs are you kidding me ??? Ok so what about the filth oh I don't know how the cabin was before you got there you must have made it that dirty !! What soap scum doesn't happen in just four days !!! A toilet doesn't get a yellow ring either in four days he proceeds to say well I don't know what you want me to do ??? I said a refund of some kind well I can't do that I'll have someone call you are you kidding me !!! So now me and my family are going to a hotel to try to enjoy the rest of our vacation I don't recommend this camp ground good customer service is not the priority !!!!i will not be coming back here again !! All they did was give me one day refund so I paid a lot of money to stay in such filth!!! read more

This is definitely a different camping experience that I have ever had. There were some pros and cons. Cons were that your camp site is SO close to everyone else. I can flick a piece of paper and it would be in someone else's campground. There are quiet hours from 10pm-8am and we did get a complaint around 11ish or so. You don't really get the "wilderness" feel out here. The place is dog friendly but they must be on a leash which was a bummer for my dog who had to be tied up the whole time. Pros were that you have access to bathrooms that were kept pretty clean. They have a store where you can buy ice, wood, beer and any necessities you may have forgotten. There are free pancakes every morning. There is a big pool, a volleyball court and a small dog park. There is a bouncy thing for kids as well. Another pro was that there seemed to be hardly any mosquitos! Score! It seems kind of expensive but when you realize that they must upkeep all the amenities it makes sense. Next time I would prefer a place more in nature but with friends it was a great time. We did make friends with our (close) neighbors as well. read more

The campground was a little pricy for what you get. The ice cream stand was really expensive, the tiny cabin was up there as well. However, they have a nice pool and lots of things for you to do there. If you go, plan on whipping out your bug spray, the Mosquitos or triggers are terrible. I've never been bit so badly and often. There are only a select few people who know what's going on there as well. Glenn and rob seem to be the only ones, everyone else is super friendly but clueless. The bathrooms are a bit of a hike depending where you are staying (especially in the middle of the night). Campground is very clean overall, you didn't see any litter or trash. This is still one of my favorite campgrounds. Plus it's close to Busch gardens. read more

We were looking for a pet-friendly place to stay overnight on our drive down south. I booked a cabin with this KOA ahead of time, and I was very satisfied! Wouldn't have done anything differently except book a cabin with a bathroom. The cabins were in good condition with air conditioning and even a TV. We walked to the communal bathrooms, which could have been a little cleaner, but hey it's "camping" so they were perfectly fine for that standard. What impressed me most was how much effort the staff has put in to make this a family-friendly all-around fun experience. There's free movie nights, a big pool, games, events, pancake breakfasts, free coffee, a store loaded with stuff for toasting marshmallows and cooking over fire pits...if I had kids, I'd certainly bring them here for a clean, fresh, outdoor vacation. read more

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for the 4th of July weekend. We really enjoyed our stay. We were escorted to our location which was nice. The cabin was close to bathrooms which were clean. The camp ground itself was in a good location 25 mins to Busch Gardens and 15 mins to Colonial Williamsburg 7 mins to the outlets.
