    Balcony seating

The service is great and location is great!!! However the seating within the venue is rather small for a larger person. Most people fit confortable but if it a person is tall and/or large they may not be comfortable. They lots of options for food and drinks and the prices are what is expected for a place like this at least $5 for water.

I love Chrysler Hall! There are no terrible seats here. We visited recently to see The Wiz, what an amazing show. The food is the normal snacks, popcorn, charcuterie, candies. The overall ambiance is a vibe. You could choose to come fancy or casual and it is totally acceptable.

Went with my bestie to check out the play The Thorn. If you ever get a chance to see this play run don't walk to go see it. It not what you would ever expect. It's better. You will laugh cry gasp and yes it said gasp and yes I said laugh. It's a must see. Very well done.

I enjoy seeing shows here. Nothing spectacular but nothing bad either. We had very good seats but you can see no matter where you sit. The staff is friendly and helpful. They even have a place for people to take photos....little photo op situation. My biggest complain is the highway robbery they are charging for drinks!!!!!!! It's absolutely ridiculous. And they are cashless!!! I paid $5 for a bottle of water which was easier to stomach then the price of alcohol and food.

This was my first time attending an event at Chrysler Hall and I will say I am very impressed. There's a parking garage right underneath. It was well staffed. The sound was great. The seats were comfortable. Will definitely be looking to attend more events here There was a booth where you could get some drinks. I don't know if they had food and of course the drinks are highly priced but that's to be expected

Another one for the books. What a great musical. We enjoyed every second of it. The Genie definitely stole the show but that's not to say that everyone else wasn't amazing. He had a way of making you feel like you were part of what was going on. I truly appreciate how organized and professional this venue operates. There is someone available to help you every step of the way from the moment they check you in. I also appreciate them having sufficient staff to help during intermission so that you can get back to your seat in a timely manner. If you get the chance to see Aladdin take it. You will throughly enjoy it and it appropriate for all ages.

Upon arriving at Chrysler Hall to see Hamilton, I was pleasantly surprised to see a parking garage right across the street since I was unsure exactly where the parking was located. The parking garage charged $10 (event cost) so I gladly paid and found a parking space. The first thing I noticed when I entered the Hall was the beautiful chandeliers and art sculptures! The venue was very clean and had coffee, beverage and snack stations in certain areas for purchase. I loved all the seating in the foyer as well, that comes in handy when you are waiting for a show to start. Thankfully, there were many ushers walking around helping guide people to their seats so I was able to be quickly get to my seat with a little assistance. The ushers were very friendly. The seats were pretty comfortable and the area where I was seated gave me a nice view of the stage! Hamilton was a PHENOMENAL show that I hope others get to experience as well and I'm so glad Chrysler Hall was able to bring this wonderful play to the Hampton Roads.

Kountry Wayne...my boo psst don't tell my hubby

I'm a huge fan of the comedian Kountry Wayne. So when my husband surprised me for Mother's Day with VIP meet and great tickets I was ecstatic. Originally I'd made plans to attend with family bit gave my extra ticker to my bestie. I'm going to be truthful I say KW about 5 years ago at the Funny Bone and it was cramped like a can of sardines. This time around I'm so happy he was at the Chrysler hall. The Chrysler is definitely bigger than the Funny Bone and I feel the spacing, parking, overall flow of functionality just works for bigger name individuals. Now I do feel the orchestra center stage floor VIP seating could have been done a tad better in my opinion. I enjoyed the show and the viewing advantage point, just would like the chairs to be a tad bit more spaced apart so I don't feel my cheeks tooking a strangers leg please. Parking was a quick walk across the street....not a fan of Norfolks parking fees for events but got to bite the bullet. Clean bathrooms also are a mist for me and theirs were clean so thank you Chrysler that goes a long ways in my book.

And I thought balcony seating would be the nosebleed section but am happily mistaken especially if you get rows A thru C. Still very good views of the stage, might even be better than orchestra seats that are so close to the stage. With plays/musicals with big sets and lighting, it's better to get a birds eye view so you don't miss any movement. Watched Cats tonight and the show was great! I actually enjoyed this better than when I saw it on Broadway decades ago. The staff at Chrysler Hall were accommodating, letting me wait to the side for my friend to arrive with our mobile tickets. Security was slight, didn't enforce checking bags nor walking through security scanners-must be when they were rushing to get people seated. The venue was small but intimate, acoustics and sound system was great. Carpeting is a little dated.

    Epic fail, Chrysler!!!!! Yuck!

Epic fail!, Chrysler. I have lived here more than 30 years. I have attended concerts, ballets, recitals, and some iconic plays right here at this very venue. I saw Aida on this stage; I saw Hamilton here; I saw Lion King and Phantom of the Opera...and every single time I arrive, the routine to enter is the same--come early, enter, grab a drink and casually make it to our seats. Today, it's the NEW JACK CITY play. Black cast and crew, tailored to a predominantly black audience, and now there is a SECURITY check with a metal detector scanner and purse check! I arrived early and spent more than 42 minutes in line waited to be treated like this. If you don't need security this stringent for HAMILTON Or LION KING or CATS--and the tickets cost the same price--why do you need it for this event? If a person can afford these tickets for this show, trust me, they didn't come with ill intent that you need to have such a rigorous security check! This is ridiculous; this is wrong; this is DEMEANING!!

It's the first time I can ever recall being in the Chrysler and for its age I found it impressive. Most likely built in the mid 70's around the time of the nearby Scope. The design is kinda Kennedy Center boxy. The parking garage is conveniently located under the venue. Parking is not free. They get big off Broadway shows, however the runs are typically shorter than say Richmond. The demand for tickets was high for my show. My wife, daughter and I saw the performance of Wicked. Tickets were obtained from Ticket Master. My family sat in the Orchestra which was excellent. Seating was comfortable, sound was good, but the stage seemed small. Refreshments were ready at intermission and the popcorn tasty. The overall corridors and theater clean and well maintained. I would return, however I would park smarter. If your in the basement your a bit screwed and it takes forever to get out. So try and avoid. But if you must park by the elevators side ramp. You will be first out. 3.5 seems a perfect fit, but will round up.

Going to Shen Yun tonight and I realized I'm going to be seated in the balcony... not the dress circle but the one up higher. My vision isnt the best so I'm wondering what's the view is like? I'm crossing my fingers it's not moving dots

I saw The Lion King from the balcony, and I enjoyed the show. You aren't very far that you won't be able to see the performers, costumes, or anything on stage. I had the same concern, but I had a good view of the show. You should be able to make out… Read more

Where are the best seats for two people who want to see everything?

The best seats are going to be front center orchestra (FCORCH). Sometimes they even remove the first several rows, so rows DD, EE, FF, etc are pretty close to the stage without too many people in front of you and you have a great view of the show!

The entire audience seemed excited for the performance, with the Christmas spirit felt throughout the lobby and theater. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The available concessions were tasty, though the spiked eggnog was sorely missed this year. One recommendation would be to improve communication regarding drink availability at the bars. If certain beverages are not served at the theater entrance bar (like hot cocoa and coffee), they should not appear on that menu, or guests should be informed before waiting in line. I witnessed dozens of theatergoers being told after a long wait that hot drinks were only available at the side bar by the front windows which created a lot of unnecessary frustration. The Wells Theatre has a wonderful antique nostalgia while remaining well maintained and very clean. We were fortunate to experience the show from a completely different seat location that previous years, on the opposite side of the house, and the updated writing and script changes were enough to keep the production feeling fresh and engaging. We also appreciated the intermission being placed after the First Spirit rather than after the Second, as in previous years, as it made the acts feel more balanced. Additionally, the return of the Third Spirit's in-audience entrance was definitely appreciated.

The staff were friendly as we checked in and found our seats, and the Green Room bar is a nice touch if you'd like to enjoy a beverage during the performance. As for the show--Gaslight--I was genuinely impressed. The acting was superb, the set design captured the period beautifully, and the tension of the story was carried expertly by the cast. This classic psychological drama tells the story of Bella Manningham and her manipulative husband Jack, whose strange behavior slowly convinces Bella that she may be losing her sanity. Without giving away the mystery, the production builds suspense masterfully and delivers a powerful payoff that keeps the audience fully engaged. If you enjoy live theatre performed at a high level, The Little Theatre of Norfolk is well worth a visit. We always enjoyed the remarkable talent, time, and commitment this local theatre brings out to share with the community from the fantastic stage designs and sets to its diverse and talented casts of performers. The Green Room offers light refreshments for purchase and has fundraising raffles, too. It's a neat place to stop into during intermission, and you're now permitted to bring your beverage into the theatre now, as long as you're mindful to remove and dispose of your trash when leaving the theatre. The theatre's name might include the word little, but it has a large heart! Let's keep it clean! While we are big fans of Broadway in New York City, and have purchased season tickets to Broadway in Norfolk, the Little Theatre of Norfolk provides amazing shows and performances that we highly recommend. Our children have yet to take any classes to date, but my daughter may do so in the near future. The Hurrah Players began back in 1984 with humble beginnings in a church basement in Ghent. The founder and Artistic Director Hugh Copeland has led his team of thespians for almost 30 years. It has taken years of work, strategic partners that believed in them and ultimately Town Bank to put them in their beautiful new historic building in 2010. Hurrah now calls the original Old Norfolk Academy Building off of St. Paul's Blvd in Norfolk home sweet home. A few unique items about the building. It's architect is Thomas U. Walter, the same man who was the architect of the U.S. Capitol Dome. Also Edgar Allen Poe gave his very last speech here. A 100 seat Perry theater for smaller productions is located in the building. Lager productions are a few blocks away at The Roper Theater. The purpose of The Hurrah Players is not only educational in nature through classes offered at their home, but an appreciation for the arts and dance is instrumental to their mission. Through stages show big and small, Spring Break camps and Summer camps they full fill this mission. Hurrah staff builds confidence in the children they work with and at the end of the day a quality, affordable product for the paying audience when the curtain goes up. The show that is currently in production is Hurrah for the Holiday and tickets are on sale now.. Performances are Dec 13,14,15 at the Roper. This is an annual show and never disappoints. The kids do a great job and you will be into the Christmas spirit after attending. Even if you are not a thespian, or into theater yourself, I urge you to give a Hurrah show an opportunity to impress you. Most of the actors are children and put blood, sweat and tears into their productions. I doubt you will be disappointed and most likely will fall in love with The Hurrah Players much like our family has.
