On my visit this week I called ahead to and confirmed proper staff avail, and headed down to purchase my range ammo. The bad news is they were out of most things on their email savers coupon. The good news is these two staffers ( manager and trainee ) made the purchase kind of fun. The manager assured me that the stores are hiring more people and that ammo sales people will be on duty more often. And I did get a July 4 discount. All good. Wasn't expecting that level of service. Unfortunately, she had to excuse herself and another gentleman took over who wasn't as accommodating in offering to build to my specs. Got to demo three of the hottest new drivers and 3 woods with no sales pressure in their state of the art golf simulators. Although, I didn't buy, I was impressed with the service and selection. Then I began walking around the store and saw they have a Trackman practice area that people can sign up for as regulars and a good amount of clothing and accessories with many popular retail brands (Nike, Adidas, etc) and lesser known but quality looking apparel on sale for reasonable ($50 and under, not $100-150 on sale) prices. As a regular shopper at the Golf Mart Superstore in South City/San Bruno, I would day this store is nicer but doesn't have as many used clubs, esp. from top brands like Taylormade, Callaway, Ping, etc., to choose from. Much more expensive than Patagonia, sure but hey I want to be fancy too right? One of the worst purchases I've mad. The jacket itself was decent quality, nothing amazing but pretty on par with Patagonia. A few months later I noticed a small tear in the front of the jacket, not from it getting ripped by something but just from typical wear and tear. I've had similar things happen to me for my Patagonia stuff, I just walked into the store and they repaired or replaced it with a smile so considering Arc'teryx is "fancier" I expected AT LEAST that level of service. I went into the store, staff was decently friendly but just logging my warranty claim took 45 minutes. They couldn't tell me on the spot if it could be covered or not but the associate assured me that he thinks it won't be an issue. I give them the and a few days later I get an email telling me that my repair is complete and awaiting carrier pick up and I would get an email with the tracking, awesome! 4 weeks go by an I hear nothing so I decide to give the store a call. The employee who picks up tells me that the repair is complete at their factory location (I think he said in Washington) but the carrier still needs to pick it up. I ask him if it's normal to take 4 weeks for a carrier to pick up a shipment and he says yes it is. I then question him if the product will be mailed to my house or the store at which point he asks me for my case number and name. My question is if you didn't know my case number and name HOW IN THE WORLD DID YOU KNOW MY REPAIR IS COMPLETE?! clearly he was just giving me a BS answer to get me off the phone. I give him my case number and he tells me that he doesn't even see my case in their system, he has 0 record of anything, doesn't know where my jacket is, doesn't even have my name in the system and I need to contact Arc'teryx corporate, just WTF!?!?! are you kidding me?!! A few days go by and I get an email from Arc'teryx corporate telling me that my jacket repair is not covered under warranty and they want $75 to repair the jacket. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE customer service. look at all the negative reviews on here. I will NEVER buy arc'teryx again, or should I say arc'craptix, low quality products, absolute crap customer service, horrible company. I hope they fail and go bankrupt

I went on a Friday morning and didn't have a long wait for a fitting, and I was helped right away by Jim. He started by scanning my feet to get a better understanding of what I needed, then had me try on two different shoe options and clearly explained the reasoning behind each choice. I also appreciated being able to test them out by running outside the store. It made a big difference in finding the right fit. On top of that, Jim shared helpful tips to reduce the foot pain I've been experiencing during longer runs. Both pairs felt so great that I ended up buying them on the spot. I say I paid for speed and didn't get it. The suit was too long, so I returned it immediately. They charged me $9 for the return label -- a fee that most retailers have dropped, especially on purchases this size -- and my $835 refund didn't come through for three weeks. Customer service was the most frustrating part. Their rep just repeated policy over and over with no acknowledgment of the problem and no attempt to make it right. For nearly $900, I expected a company that would stand behind the experience, not just the fine print. Good luck with your policies, Backcountry. I'm done.

Mostly clothing - nice outdoor clothing but I do think other stores like REI has more. The store was beautifully decorated and I liked the trees made out of something like 2x4s. It is in Stanford shopping center which is a place that has many upscale stores. Parking is super close - and the design of the shopping center is done well.
