I checked in, gave the name of visitee (Is that a word?), and she sent me past the vestibule, through the lovely appointed public area to his room. He didn't know I was coming (probably my bad), yet, the place looked OK, and he looked better. He said everybody was great there. The staff was friendly, and rehab went according to doc-prescribed. We talked in the lovely appointed public area, and actually went outside for three hours -- come on -- January 1 -- and it was warm and balmy. Lots of residents passed by us, and knew who he was, which made me think there was a friendliness, camaradarie among these short-timers. He went home shortly thereafter. And we went out to lunch as we could. He is my great friend. And he died Wednesday in his sleep at home, November 8. P.S. He was a Yelper. I've known him for 25+ years.

Nurse told her they were understaff and response time would not improve. We got mother out of there as fast as wee could.

The staff there directly lied to us about what they could and couldn't do, citing that it was "illegal" to have an alarm on her bed when it isn't. She has fallen 3 times this week after having surgery for her broken leg. They let our mom sit by herself for so long that she wet herself even though she isn't incontinent. Our questions were met with made up answers and we had to hire someone to sit with her and care for her so we could sleep at night. I'm not a comment poster, but this has been so horrific that I had to try to warn people.

My wife and I had dinner and just happened to stop by to see the facility after hours and as we entered the lobby, there were employees leaving after a long day. We told them we were there doing a drive by and Alisa (social worker) immediately took her coat back off and gave us an impromptu tour.
