The Wine Cave is one of the three liquor establishments in the five boroughs to which I am exclusive. From Moishe to Yossi to the delivery team, this store pairs quality, variety, and exceptional service like few I've ever seen. A close friend (who lives with his husband not ten blocks from The Wine Cave) has an important anniversary coming up this Friday. I wanted to give him something that played positively to his taste in spirits as well as an addition that would give him opportunities to enhance what he already loves. The wine cave is the most beautiful wine and liquor store I've ever seen! (and I've been already to quite a few places, including their sister branch liquor galore in Flatbush)right from the outside you can see the vibe, from the brick store front to the rustic metal grand entrance and inside the wooden shelves and counter made out of wine barrels, but don't think that it just starts and finishes with the ambiance, absolutely not. The wine and liquor selection is huge, including the basement where the have a temperature controlled room for those exotic old bottles, and a great selection of all types of wine, champagne, whiskey, vodka etc. and the service is also better then great, Moishy the owner who is a expert when it comes to wine, is always ready to help you find the perfect bottle that matches your taste and budget, and would even be glad to give you a taste of a great selection of bottles so you could see what you like. A new wine store three blocks from my house, AND it's kosher?! My life keeps getting better and better. :D This place is beautiful - and even though you've arrived for alcohol, you will definitely be stopped in your tracks by the gorgeous, soft, wood and brick decor. Especially at this time of year, it's incredibly romantic and cozy to be in this atmosphere. From the second I walked in, everyone was super friendly. The two guys working the front of the store greeted me warmly and directed me to the owner. If you need suggestions, just ask for Moishe - I was looking for a red blend and he suggested one (Alfasi malbec-syrah blend - he let me sample it before I bought it, so nice!) that was a hit not only with me and my boy but also my roommate, who later suggested it to a friend she had over. He said it goes well with pizza, which is exactly what the boy had just picked up. Seriously! Now, that's a successful suggestion (and possibly psychic?!). Moishe wins. Big time. I have been buying wine at the liquor store down the street, but the selection there is nothing, nothing, nothing compared to here where they really know what they're talking about, on top of having a beautiful store and great selection. I've heard whispers about this place for a while now, and actually walk by a lot given that I live down the street, but like an idiot I never heeded suggestions until now. Well, now I know, and I'll be spreading the word. So glad to have a beautiful, customer-oriented, product knowledgeable wine store in the neighborhood that also incidentally caters to our kosher needs as well. Five stars, hands down. read more

I have gone there twice now, and both times I was greeted warmly, offered samples of different wines and bourbon they had, and talked with the knowledgeable staff about different types of wine and liquor. They have a great selection of wines, as well as bourbon, vodka, liqueur, etc. The only thing missing is a craft beer selection! The presentation is nice, and the store has a nice open feeling to it. Staff is helpful, and can easily suggest a (GREAT) wine for you based on your price range, region, type, etc. Both times I went, I got a bottle for 15 dollars or less, and they were fantastic, so you needn't break the bank to find some good buys! I definitely plan to continue giving this place my business for the foreseeable future, and sincerely hope that you will too. When you find a business that runs itself in such an excellent manner, you support it. Overall, if for some reason you are on the fence about going here; GO. You'll be happy you did. read more

I went for the first time today, and I will definitely be going back! My first impression was a bit daunting, since it was a little later in the evening (I think around 7:30?) and I had to ring to be let in. Past the iron gate though, and it was an absolutely gorgeous store - I saw stairs leading down to the basement, but I was there for whiskey so I didn't go down. Another time, maybe? The operator was very nice and very friendly, he even let me sample a brand I'd never heard of - it was so good, I wound up buying a bottle! And it was quite reasonably priced as well. Speaking of price, they have a wide range for every customer, but they're all priced competitively. Will definitely be returning! A side note: Bring a phone with a QR code scanner, there appears to be a membership app promising savings! read more

The Wine Cave almost makes me want to be an alcoholic. Yes. I said it. I would make it my home if it were even remotely possible. I mean, two floors of incredible, heart warming, out of this world Alcoholic beverages. Wines. So many wines. Everywhere. The peak of it all isn't the wine though, it's the customer service that makes that purchase Madison Avenue worth. Seriously. The employees are all very well versed in the stock they carry. If you hadn't a clue about what you're looking for, they will make sure you walk out of there with a smile from ear to ear. The decor is sharp, modern and very 21st century. It is really such a pleasure spending money at The Wine Cave. I'm even smiling while writing this review, just thinking about the next time I'll be going back. We were in NYC for a vacation, and unfortunately we got here just in time for Sandy. With public transportation being shut down, we knew we should be prepared for some time chilling in our hotel room. I decided to get something to drink to help pass the time. This place was nearby so I decided to check it out. I sure am glad I did! When I got there, I looked inside and was immediately impressed with how nice it was. I walked in and was immediately greeted, and asked what I was looking for. I told him I wasn't sure, and he took me over and told me a scotch was on sale for $35 (reg. $50) and let me try some. It was pretty good, but I didn't think my wife would like it (she was at the hotel) so I asked him for some bourbon. They weren't pouring any, but he took me over to where they had it and told me a little about them. He was very knowledgeable. I paid, and left. I wish we had a liquor store like this at home in Napa. Anyways, if you are looking for something good to drink, definitely go to The Wine Cave-- you won't be disappointed. Also, they accept American Express which I consider a huge plus, not sure if they take discover. read more

I am a genuine fan of liquor stores. Whether I'm broke or have some money to spend I can choose the store to cater to my wallet. I don't mind buying a half pint through bulletproof glass at a run down corner spot and I love being able to buy a higher quality bottle when it's an option. In between, or should I say at the top, we have the Wine Cave. It's a little out of the way of my walk home from work, but I make the detour because i get the same treatment from the knowledgable and friendly staff whether I have $5 or $200 to spend. And they do have everything in between. If you just need a little affordable bottle they have it in stock and at a price that's competitive with any neighborhood liquor store. But if you need advice and a bottle of something a little better, they've never let me down. Definitely a neighborhood gem. read more

I expected a very different type of wine store when i came here. First of all, most of the wine is from israel so don't go by the reviews and expect loads of fabulous Napa Valley wine. However, if you are into spirits this is a 4 star place! They have the unusual, the expensive and some of the norm when it come too all things hard alcohol. The owner / workers are very nice and will offer tastings happily (this is rare in Bed Stuy Bk!). I would recommend this place to bourbon, scotch, brandy and tequila drinkers as their collections of these is unlike most stores in NYC. read more

Somehow this place just felt right when I walked in. Very friendly staff. They will take their time helping you pick out a wine to your taste and in your budget, never trying to oversell you or rush you. They are on top of what they carry and they have always led to exactly what I want. There is just an insanely amount of intricate knowledge of everything they carry. Be sure to get on their email list and hit up their several tastings they do. If you can't find something be sure to ask, they may be able to get it. I am glad that that i found this cave. As a professional in the service industry I am always paying attention to the service i receive from others within the industry. Whether it be at the grocery store, my local coffee shop, the dry cleaner, whatever it is I'm always paying attention. Enter the Wine Cave. Upon walking in I was very warmly and energetically greeted by both the owner Moshe and one of his staff members. The space itself is quite nicely appointed. Exposed brick and teak-ish wood floors add character and warmth to an already inviting environment. In addition to the ambiance the level of service offered is as good as it gets! Questions are welcomed by an extremely knowledgeable owner. He implores you to make requests for things that aren't on the shelves that you would like to see in the store. In my book this makes it feel even more so like MY store. Oh and lest I forget to mention, the samples and tastes runneth over. He has a fine selection of specialty spirits on display all of which he is happy to let you taste. I went in last night and was feeling all "warm and tingly" before i even selected the bottle I was going to have, lol. I am ALWAYS grateful for great service! Hands down this is one of the friendliest, most service oriented, and nicest looking liquor stores I've been into in quite some time. Came in last week on a Thursday night, at about 8pm. Was greeted nicely and was asked if I needed any help. The worker didn't know about wines, and couldn't recommend anything good. So with that in mind, I decided to help myself. Found an amazing bottle "Tigress" by Odem mountain, that I have sampled elsewhere. Hearing about his supposedly low and fair prices, I decided to purchase it. When I came to the counter ad asked for the price , I was told it was $ 34.99. In all other kosher wine stores I have tried, it was a standard 22/27.99. When I asked the worker why it costs so much here, he looked at me with a blank expression and said "that's the price everywhere. Dropped the bottle and decided to go with a cheaper alternative. 1-ambiance is good, wood and exposed brick give it a winery feel. 2-sales staff- not so knowledgable and didn't have any recommendations other than the standard bottles everyone knows about 3-pricing-very high!!! 34.99 for a bottle that everywhere else is 25 average is just ridiculous read more
