Charming wine bar. Great service super friendly and chill and wine is really good. Recommended for light bites and good wines and you can become a member for discounted prices.

The Wine Finch has perfectly curated natural wines and craft beers, and the owners and staff couldn't be nicer. Best wine in town by far. And the view of the mountains is exceptional. This is the primo spot for locals and visitors alike.

This place has a great wine selection and they're dog friendly. The owners are ver knowledgeable and provide great recommendations. Definitely stop by for two or three or fours glasses

Recommend the Syrah and the Bordeaux. Delish!

Such a cute find! Relaxing and the person serving us was so knowledgeable and kind. A great way to start our dinner adventure in Idyllwild.

There was something going on that day when we walked in. They had the back area set up for a live bad and food. I don't know how often this happens, maybe during the weekend. What we like to do is get a bottle and enjoy just lounging there. It was nice out but still pretty warm. The trip was cool off a bit coming from the desert up to the mountain. So outside seating wasn't very tempting at the time. Inside, it's the winery which is pretty massive. Mainly their tasting room with the bar counter and loads of seating. Communal tables as well as group tables throughout the property. There's also a second floor which we didn't go up this time. Inside is also a showroom of artworks and trinkets. Different artists showcasing their work, handmade jewelry laid out through the whole place. Displayed items one after the other. This place was happening today with so many people popping in for some wine. I don't know if the event with the band happens often or just during the weekend but it was great. We ended up just staying inside as it was nice and cool. Picked up a bottle of the Tempranillo and made ourselves at home. The wine is quite tasty and nice. You can do a tasting which I believe is three samples. Or if you just wanted a glass that's also offered but we opted for a bottle. Snacks are also available for purchase if you would a charcuterie boards to accompany your tasting. It's very pet friendly as there were so many pups around. They too like to enjoy the party. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Chatting with the people walking in and sitting next to you. It's a good way to make new friends. The place was lively and everyone was there for the same thing. Good company, great wine and a fun afternoon out. With the artwork and all the items display, I don't know if they're there permanently or on rotate seasonally. But walking throughout and seeing everything on display, it was great. If you haven't been, it's worth a stop to have a nice tasting or a glass. A favorite of ours whenever we're in Idyllwild.

There's lots of interesting things to check out in the gallery space and a table set up serving wine and snacks. I had a delicious naked Chardonnay and the rest of my group reported enjoying their beverage selections very much. The scene in the back is where you wanna be with a relaxed atmosphere and nice local music being performed. Really neat spot in a neat little town, I highly recommend checking it out if you're in the area.

Since we didn't have reservations, we were seated at the bar, which ended up being a blessing in disguise. Our bartender and server, I believe her name was Katie, was outstanding. She was friendly, attentive, and made the entire experience even more enjoyable. We started with a couple of glasses of wine and the Insalata Burrata with heirloom tomatoes, fresh burrata, basil, olive oil, prosecco vinegar, local microgreens, Maldon salt, and freshly ground black pepper. It was incredibly fresh, beautifully balanced, and the perfect way to begin the meal. For our entrées, we ordered the Lasagne di Verdure with seasonal vegetables, house-made ricotta, mozzarella, marinara, and Parmigiano-Reggiano. The house-made ricotta was absolutely incredible and elevated the entire dish, making it an easy favorite. We also shared the Salame e Funghi pizza with San Marzano tomato sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, and mushrooms. The thin, wood-fired crust had the perfect texture, and the pizza easily rivaled--if not surpassed--many restaurants that specialize in pizza. To finish the evening, we couldn't pass on the Torta di Nocciole, a flourless hazelnut cake served with vanilla gelato, a drizzle of local raw honey, and freshly grated nutmeg. It was the perfect ending to an outstanding meal--rich, balanced, and absolutely delicious. From the exceptional service to the thoughtfully prepared food, every part of our visit exceeded our expectations. We only wish there were a location closer to home. We'll definitely be back, hopefully sooner rather than later. Thank you for an unforgettable meal and outstanding hospitality!

We got lucky*) Server was amazing Food expediter was super nice Food was delicious Elegant, fine dining experience Music was my mountain playlist (and not too loud) View of mountains for me. View of architecture for my wife. PARKING: Parking can be difficult in the small lot, but there's parking along the street too. INSIDE: It was perfect weather. 68ºF at 6pm after a warm day. They have "indoor/patio" style seating which may be difficult for some to access by multiple steps. We were seated at the top, a table away from the music, along the window side. They have heat lamps - but temps were perfect (lots of people and hot food warmed everyone up). I wanted to walk around the restaurant. The tiered architecture is interesting. FOOD: High End Vegan! Yes - I'm guilty of wanting to give them 5 stars just looking at their vegan menu. (And omnivore selection) Yes - I appreciate the care that it takes to prepare a plate. BUT This food was just delicious by itself. Even in a cardboard box, this food would've been amazing. VEGAN "cheese" appetizer (great for 2-3 people) Nut cheese was warm and tangy. This is NOT just cashews and nooch in a blender. It is spiced with something that brings a little heat. *you will want to lick the bowl. PRO TIP: The welcome bread with ... oh shit.... WELCOME BREAD / Garlic Olive Oil This crusty bread served with microplaned garlic + olive oil is fantastic. Garlic Fiend? You're gonna love this. Not a fan of garlic? What's wrong with you?! I mean... just serve from the oil side. Save some bread for your vegan cheese.... VEGAN CHEESE (cont.) Order the gluten free bread (a little more like Uti's toasted dinner roll) with your vegan cheese app. Omnivores at your table will be surprised how well this vegan cheese and wine pair with each other. TROUT I think my wife got the trout. She loved it. Light and delicate. VEGAN KIMCHI TOFU I've had kimchi. I've had tofu. We all have. This was prepared on a bed of roasty veg that was a great match to the salty kimchi. I don't know if there was a marinade preparation (sesame paste?) with the tofu, or it was made locally, or both, but this firm tofu was excellent. Sweet. Nutty. Salty. Fresh tasting and filling. The vegan menu here isn't just an "alternate version" of an omnivore dish. It is its own thing. DESSERT MISTAKE = not getting it. We thought there would be dessert in town, but we got out late. Town had closed. MUSIC Tonight's music was a pair of musicians playing CS&N, Neil Young, Bob Seger... acoustic session: Guitar, Violin, Mandolin. Quiet & sentimental performance was a perfect accompaniment to a long hike day. THERE ARE 1-STAR REVIEWS of this place. They have their reasons. I've only been here once. But I experienced NONE of the things they've mentioned. Moreover, we experienced even better than what other 5-star reviews suggested. This is an elegant spot, framed by a perfect day in Idyllwild. If I come back to the town, I will want to try other restaurants, but I'll definitely come back here. Not *just* because of their vegan options, but definitely *for* their vegan options.

After digging through Yelp and social media for a bit, we stumbled upon Ash & Vine, which appears to be a new addition to the area. Location-wise, it worked out perfectly, only about a five-minute walk from our hotel. That said, the place is quite hidden, at least to my eyes. We walked around for a bit before accidentally spotting the small sign tucked among all the greenery. Once inside, though, the place had plenty of charm. It almost feels like a small house where the living room was transformed into a warm and welcoming place for people to gather and enjoy a good dinner. Very stylish, but still comfortable and intimate. Must be that Palm Springs vibe. The service also matched the setting - warm, relaxed and welcoming without feeling overly formal. The food is beautifully and creatively presented, almost like fine dining, but the overall experience remains casual and approachable. My favorite was easily the scallop risotto. It was rich, hearty and flavorful, but still nicely balanced. My wife tried some and immediately said that the next time we pass through Palm Springs, she is ordering it for herself. Not that her Jidori chicken was bad, it was quite good, but that risotto was the dish we kept talking about afterward. Both of my boys loved their steaks. They said the sauce gave the filets a different flavor from the ones they have had elsewhere, which apparently earned their approval. We finished with the pavlova, a delectable combination of tropical sweetness, meringue, mango sauce and pineapple. Light, refreshing and a great way to end dinner - especially after walking through that Palm Springs heat. All in all, the bill came out to about $340 including tip for a party of four, with no alcohol. Not exactly a cheap dinner, but considering the setting, quality and overall experience, it felt reasonable for a nicer family meal in Palm Springs. A nice accidental find and a great start to our evening. It feels like one of those small hidden places that may not stay hidden for very long. Definitely somewhere we would return to the next time we are in town.

The drinks were fantastic, including mine which was a zero-proof mocktail. We all ordered different chicken dishes, and each one received high praise. I was able to try each of them and I was very happy with my fajitas, but I gotta give the nachos their dues. They were just as good. Chips were crispy all the way through, and not one was soggy from all the ingredients. Loved it, will definitely be back when I visit again.
