Great find for a mid-afternoon break. Located behind the busy street. Good drinks and great food. Service attentive. Sat on the patio with fans, which was perfect. Very comfortable and enjoyable.

Wow!! The food, service and ambiance here was so amazing. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary. From the time we walked in we were greeted by great service we had the pleasure of being served by the most incredibly amazing waitress Frances. The entire experience was great and we will definitely be telling our friends and family to come by when they are in town.

Sat at the bar with a lovely bartender named Benji. They had all the right recommendations. The place had a cool interior, and comfortable bar seats. The Al pastor tacos were incredible, and their tortillas are all made in house. The jamaica (hibiscus drink) was also made in house, and was refreshing. I got an extra one to go. Would definitely be back here for a bit and one of their cocktails next time.

Made a 5pm reservation, and got lucky with the last indoor table. From start to finish, the flavors in every course were nothing short of SO GOOD- you wanted seconds! I was very indecisive, so asked for help with a starter. Our server recommended the short rib empanadas. Man! The pastry was so flaky and crisp, but the inside was soft and tender shredded short rib. Nothing fancy needed here because the flavor is just WOW! Amd if you are indecisive like I am when you are thirsty, Clandestino has you covered. You must try the margarita flight. This is the first flight where I enjoyed every single one in a long time. The Jamaica was my favorite. Think prickly pear vibes. The cucumber was a refreshing surprise! My husband loved the Mango with the chamoy rim. He had never tried it before, and now is a major fan. Even after all this, the stars of the night were the tacos. Do not be fooled by the photos, they ARE as good as they look. Two healthy portions for the price paid, which is always what I am looking for these days. We were so full, we wouldn't fit in dessert. But if you can, they have some great options. If you want cocktails and small plates, or a fun date night with cool atmosphere and delicious food - go to Clandestino! Perfect meal for night two of our vacation beat the heat weekend! Thank you, and we WILL be back!

This was our last dinner on our vacation in Palm Springs. I had made reservations well in advance for this very popular place: 6:45 Thursday night dinner reservations. Funny thing is my friend and I ate at Tac/Quila on our second night, not knowing this was the sister restaurant... and quite frankly we actually liked the food here better. This location had both inside seating which was limited, a big bar and a fairly large patio seating. When we arrived we were greeted and seated at an outdoor table. Francine our server introduced herself, super nice, very attentive and made our dining experience wonderful. We ordered cocktails while looking over the menu. Because we dine at the sister restaurant previously, I didn't want to order the same dishes. Though we couldn't help repeating 1 dish, the Taco Chip (so good). We ordered the Short Rib Empanadas and the Cochinta Pibil. All the food came our hot, presentation was nice and all tasted fantastic. If we come again to Palm Springs I would definitely eat here again. Atmosphere: modern, both indoor/patio seating. Service: excellent. Food: very good.

We came here for an anniversary dinner and it was amazing!!! The vibe is to sit outside with the misting fans and get some refreshing drinks! I got a watermelon lemonade... so gooood!! My wife got a margarita with Tajín and chamoy that she also loved!! The servers were so great, I want to be friends with them and have them join us! Lol they were so nice and attentive! From the servers, the food runners and even the bussing people they were all wonderful. The food though... my gosh. I wish I could have more!!! We got the squash appetizer that is absolutely Devine!!! And then we shared the coconut shrimp tacos with the jicama tortilla. Omg what a refreshing coombo!!!! The jicama as the tortilla threw me off, but the flavors all together had me licking my fingers and wanting more!!! And we were too full to have dessert, so we got it to go and I will say the arrows con leche was so gooood! The texture of the almonds and raisins in it really gave it a good bite and taste!! All in all, we will be back and very soon!!!!

This place was amazing! Accidentally stumbled upon this place and the service was great. We came on a during the afternoon on a Thursday so it wasn't busy which felt perfect. My boyfriend and I sat at the bar and our server David gave us a quick background on the food and drinks that they served. We had oysters, chicken enchiladas, and ceviche. Every bit was absolutely delicious. Not from the area but anytime we are we will be coming back ! The interior design was also so beautiful !

Every time we come to PS we like to try new places and this time we thought lets give this a shot because of all the rave reviews . The server was fast and knowledgeable and delivered great service when we needed it we sat on the patio outside and had a fan with a mister on it so it made it a little more bearable with the heat. 1. squash blossoms 3/5 expecting a little bit more from them, especially with the price tag. They were good just didn't think they were $18 good . 2 shrimp ceviche 3/5 piled high with shrimp, just missing the juices also had to ask for additional tostadas because not enough on plate. 3. Osso bucco 3/5 good but not great !! Tasted like it was cooked the day before , dry in texture . My son ordered the trio of quesadillas and it was good but meat had a weird texture almost like it was boiled then cooked . 4. Shrimp fajitas 4/5 wife said these were good and i have to admit the refried beans were delicious . Really wanted to love this place but honestly after eating their it was OK and the price tag was steep with three nonalcoholic drinks, It came out almost $200. Tried to eat the leftover quesadilla later that night and the tortilla was so hard. It was almost inedible

We found this place coming from the airport and were really please. The tacos were delicious and 2 was the perfect size. The guacamole and chips were flavorful and a great starter. Their drinks were refreshing in such hot weather too. This is a pretty small area so it's mostly outside seating but it is covered and there are fan misters.

I truly enjoy Clandestino every time I visit! I luv how bright and lively the bar area is. I've always lucked out with indoor seating. Please note there is only a bar and about three tables with a couple chairs. Most of the seating is OUTSIDE. The food is DELISH! The mocktails are YUM!! And the dessert is a TREAT!!!

The food here is so delicious! I had the carne asada plate and the grilled shrimp tacos. Everything was so flavorful and tasty. The meat portions were plentiful. For drinks, I tried the jamaica margarita and lychee pisco sour. I liked the pisco sour more because you can really taste the lychee flavor. It was sweet and refreshing. Majority of the seating is outside. Inside seating is only at the bar. Service was friendly too. Definitely will be coming back!

Finally had the opportunity to try Clandestino and let me tell you it did not disappoint. I had been wanting to try this place for a while and enjoyed it very much. We ordered the margarita flight, and each one was unique and distinct, we enjoyed them very much. As an appetizer, we started with the calabacita flowers which were light and flavorful. I ordered the chicken mole enchiladas and they were so good, plenty of chicken and the mole was right on point. I found my meal absolutely delicious and plentiful. My boyfriend had the chili relleno which he devoured and said it was excellent. The service was great, very professional and helpful. The nice thing was when we arrived, we were seated right away. The place is decorated beautifully, very well appointed with a nice vibe and ambiance! I highly recommend Clandestino! The food is fresh and one can taste that each dish is thoughtfully prepared.

Well this one, located in the Arena area of Palm Springs. Theres no name or signs anywhere. You just have to know where to look. Try opening doors and see which one opens. We were walking back to the car when I noticed the doors. As l had heard so much about it but didn't know where it was. Well lucky me, I opened the door with the first try. I had an idea on where it was but didn't know where. That's where the 4 stars come in. As I had the door open, I could hear from the bar area a gentleman yelling out shut the door. Ok, I get the dark hidden concept but yelling out like that, kind of rude. Do you not want people in. It was about 11pm when we walked in. You enter and it's a dark hallway straight to the bar. That'll be what you see right when you walk in. Place is covered in a dark damask wallpaper and only light are small fixtures. So dark and demure. Bar area is the main attraction with all the seating. There's a few hi tops along the wall as well as some seating in the back area. I'm not sure how big the place is as we only went straight to the bar and sat down. The menu is printed to resemble vintage newspaper. The dark mysterious room with tufted seats and dim lights is what this place is all about. But of course you can't leave out the drinks. Centered of the bar wall, there's Udo Kier watching you. Anyways, down to the drinks. Printed on the newspaper was a perfect touch. I went with the pisco sour and we had the bartender make something else with mescal. An updated smoke and mirror I believe. Drinks were excellent which we expected. The whole place is really dark and mysterious which was a nice touch. It wasn't that busy when we arrived Friday night. The only downfall with the rating, the rude remark when we walked in with shutting the door all the way from the bar area. Yes we heard it from outside. There were two bartenders working , but we did chat with one of them and she was a sweetheart. Informed us that they too will be closed down for the summer holiday but will be renovating. Places out here closes at least a month for summer holidays and with the slow season due to the heat. First impression of this place, besides the rude remark was we really liked it. Be advised, it does get hot but they do have both the main covered patio and street covered patio. Both with mister working the whole time. If you prefer ac, they have indoor dining as well. We like to enjoy the sun and people watching which patio is alway a good option for us. Of course we make friends with the waiter as they alway take care of us. Everyone here from the staff, waiter and waitress, and the owners are all very sweet and friendly. Menu is alway great. You have both the breakfast and brunch menu. We tend to come for them mainly but have never tried dinner here. Of course the bubbly is always a good start. A bottle with three juice options and fresh fruit for adornment. Strawberries and blueberries for the bougie bubbly effect. And for the price, it's worth it. Food wise, we went with the chicken sandwich with salad and the burger with fruit. A side of fries is definitely a must even if it comes with it. Portion for the sandwich was massive. Nice thick piece of grilled and marinaded chicken breast filled with lettuce, tomatoes, onion and avocados on toasted bread. It's massive even when they sliced it in halves. And the burger, two nice patties with lettuce, tomato, cheese, onion and bacon. A classic and it was delicious. I'm not a burger person but every now and then a bite is worth it. The food has alway been excellent. Crowd is alway nice and bubbly. It's cute chit chatting with the other guest nearby. Also we found out that they close for about two months in July and August as that's their holiday time. Glad we made it before it happened. It's a nice place for brunch as it's alway our go to whenever we can't figure out something.

We had the strangest experience here. We were in town for a friends 40th and we had seen great…read morereviews about The Thirsty Palms. We walked up, no reservation. The lady at the door told us inside would probably be loud because there were two bigger tables in there. It was hot outside, so we decided to sit inside anyway. We almost immediately regretted that and wished we'd sat outside. This place is not made for being busy on the inside. It's just too loud. But, cute in there. Our server, who we later learned was the bartender and not a usual server, took our drink orders. A few of us ordered the Hugo spritz, one gal got a beer, and a few other cocktails were ordered. We got our drinks and they were enjoyable. The problem began when we were ordering food. One girl in our group is Celiac and literally can not eat gluten. She ordered the salmon and asked to be sure the potato salad was gluten free. If things are fried or prepared in the same place as gluten objects, she is incredibly ill for weeks afterwards. She has to be super careful. His response was, "I think so." She told him she was celiac and had a true gluten allergy, and she needed him to be sure. Meanwhile, the menu boasts about how they proudly serve gluten free options right on the bottom. He then said, "yeah, I'm pretty sure it is." He genuinely did not seem concerned. She ended up ordering it but felt uncomfortable about whether or not it was really safe for her. Another girl at the end of the table asked him to please double check, as it was really a serious allergy. He said, "Yeah I am going to ask the chef. I wasn't going to just ignore it and make all you girls mad." He had the snarkiest tone when he said it, and it was incredibly, incredibly rude. That right there gave us a bad taste in our mouths. He came back out and said he checked with the chef, and it was indeed gluten free. Food came out and all tasted good. But when a restaurant prides itself on gluten free options, and then makes it so hard to order, it's not a good look. We wouldn't be back.

I forgot his name but the bartender was very nice and you could tell he likes his job. We got there and ordered a drink, and we're lucky enough to get a free order of some delicious bread sticks. It caught our attention as we had stayed in two different Kimpton Hotels in Seattle prior. We wanted to grab a drink at the Window Bar (not knowing that was its actual name, but the conversation we had with the bartender about that window shining too much light at certain parts of the morning definitely gave me a chuckle in hindsight). We happened to be a bit early since he had not been able to finish setting up shop yet. We went ahead and waited until he was ready without rushing him because we ourselves weren't in any rush at all. Surrounded by a ton of nice interesting artwork, it was a pure joy to enjoy a drink or two in this environment. The bar can be found at the corner on the other side of the hotel concierge in plain sight from such a big space for a lobby, directly left upon entrance through the front. Since it was slow in the morning, we were able to chat it up with the bartender and even explore a bit of experimentation in the form of a particular top secret cocktail that every mixologist knows. I definitely exercised my etiquette and reading the conditions to even suggest it. He couldn't be any nicer about our time with him. So yeah, Christopher H. from 9/9/18, I don't know what you're talking about. I make it a point to visit the bar at any Kimpton location nowadays. I always seem to have a good time. But then again, I can only speak for myself. Parking: Street, unless you're a guest at the hotel. FYI: - Despite the hours on Yelp saying this place is open from 4-10pm, they might open earlier, as we joined in at around 11am or noon. But don't hold me to it. If there's somebody at the bar, you'll need to simply ask if it is open yet.
