I like this cute little nook and the pop-up aspect. I wish that the prices for a little bit more reasonable and that the garden was open more often. There's some seating but it's first come first serve so you can't always find it it's best to come early. They have a couple food items that you order from a food truck as well as a separate window for beers and such. read more

Visit was Opening night. Beautiful, Wonderful Happy place. The owners have transformed an empty lot formerly occupied by a food truck into a city neighborhood oasis. Reasonably priced wines coupled with great service and a cool neighborhood vibe make for a relaxing experience. And there is a nice mix of locals and people from elsewhere. I was here on opening notes with fellow YELPER Alexandra K along with her husband. Thanks for turning me onto this place ! A good time was had by all. Apologies for not remembering the owners names but both of them were really cool wonderful people and I'm sending kudos out to both for coming up with a wonderful idea for this corner of West Philly. I was psyched when I learned about the opening of The Wine Garden from some of my fellow Yelpers. Right in my neighborhood, I hoped that it would prove to be a fun new spot for me to check out, and after attending the opening night, that's definitely a yes. Nestled between two buildings on Baltimore Avenue near Cedar Park, the owners have transformed the space into a lovely outdoor seating area with umbrella-shaded tables, abundant flowers and other greenery, and overhead string lights and citronella soy candles. It is worth a visit just for the ambiance alone, it's such an idyllic oasis in the middle of West Philly. The beverage menus make it a definite must for lovers of wine and outdoor summer seating. An impressive wine list, with sparkling, red, white and rose wines from around the world is offered, and there's a great wine cocktail list as well (my friend Dee got a mango mimosa, and I can't wait to try the peach variation on my next visit). Happy hour is $5 on select red, white, rose and sparkling wines, and a dollar off wine cocktails (which includes the essential summer drink, the "frose"). But ambiance and a winning menu are not what make a drinking (or dining) establishment a winner. That's up to the people - they're the ones who really provide the vibe. The Wine Garden succeeds on that front for sure. The patrons were largely families, couples, and groups of friends from the neighborhood (as well as some who traveled from beyond!), and everyone was clearly enjoying themselves and having a great time. The owners, Nazareth and Lydia, were walking around to everyone at the tables and the bar, introducing themselves, making sure everyone was happy, and adding to the warmth and enthusiasm of the evening. I can't speak for everyone, but they both gave real time and attention to our table, sharing their stories, listening to ours, and all around contributing to and joining in our laughter and the charm of the experience. Existing wine gardens here in the city of brotherly love have severely under performed and unfortunately failed to truly resonate with the wine snob coalition. This demoralizing fact threatens our way of life. We had a spark when we started, but now we're just garbage. Yes, we were on the verge of dying a gruesome death on the vine. Analysts confirmed an irrefutable fact -- that one more opening of a completely sour wine garden in our glorious city would shatter our image beyond repair. In comes The Wine Garden, nestled between Bookers and a building without a name. I caught an ad on IG and immediately gathered all of my friends that majored in Art History for a ripping good time. I rarely drink wine, but hell.. I want to drink/try something new, you feel me. We arrived around 8PM on Friday, August 23rd, 2019. I walked in with an oversized white dress shirt with a Malcolm X hat on and the MC gave me daps and said "ehh heh hah hah!" I assume that was his way of greeting me, as he was as lit as the amazon rain forest. As I approached the bar, he then started rapping what I believe to be the musical stylings of Master Of Ceremonies Lyte. This man, I'll call him Bogart, played a crucial part of keeping the enjoyment factor high. On a scale of 1 to 10, he was rabid wolverine with it -- getting people involved, dancing, cracking jokes, flashing lights. I know when Bogart lists this job on his resume, he'll have about a dozen bullet points of responsibilities on that jawn. "Increased productivity by 3000%." I see it now. I sauntered to the bar and ordered a glass of Merlot. I took a deep sniff and detected a hint of grapes. This confirms that I was actually served wine. 3 stars awarded. I then started to fully embrace wine mom culture. Ambiance is everything, right? Beautiful decor! Wooden tables everywhere, with fun cliche wine puns on them to get your IG litter than lit. An alluring neon pink logo hanging over a grass backdrop that makes the DJ pop. Specialty drinks and specials. Excellent presentation. The people who run this place seem pretty cool. Definitely pleasant to talk to and interact with. They even let a couple bring their small dogs in the place, which garnered mixed reactions from my group. Music was consistently good, a mix of classic rap and throwback R&B. The only grapes, I mean gripes I have are as follows: - It was raining earlier in the day, so water constantly dripped off the top of the bar onto me while while I was ordering. - The overall layout of the place. You're in a narrow alley-like area, so if you're sitting in the back, all of the excitement (DJs, lights, energy, dancing) is at the entrance, leaving you in the shadows, literally and figuratively. - Perfect layout for bums to stumble in and ask for money. Had one stumble in and it took a couple minutes before they were removed. Perhaps a chill bouncer would help. - Lack of anything else to drink -- I know, I know, I hear you. It's a wine garden. You sound like my girlfriend. But still, a small and light beer selection would be the move. Fortunately, Bookers is next door, so you can order whatever you want over there and bring it over to the garden. Just know that whatever drinks or food you bring in, you must take out. We were taken a back a little bit when the owner popped out of nowhere and told us remove our beer bottles. Still, 4 stars. I definitely will return before the hood becomes too aware of it's existence. read more

Also, you have to keep getting up from your table to stand in line to get food and drinks. However, The staff was excellent as well as their customer service. 1707 chestnut st location: We attended this past Saturday and It is definitely not worth the $125 cost. Food was cold, drink and food station were situated across from a fountain (dangerous) with minimal walking space. Not to mention, it was raining (the ticket states a rain date would be provided in the event of rain). No rain date was provided and we were walking and sitting in puddles. This was very disappointing. The hostess stated she would provide a refund to our party and only provided a few of the refunds. I happened to have purchased two weekends in a row for different parties but now I have covid. I was ok with not getting a refund for the first event (since I actually did attend). I requested a refund for the second ticket due to covid. I haven't even been acknowledged. Very unprofessional, I would have attended again since the ticket had already been purchased but I am forced to pay for an event that I absolutely can't attend per the CDC.
