We came in on this Wednesday for the sips happy hour and it was wonderful. They have $7 cocktails and spritzes, $6 wine and $5 beer. Each had a couple drinks, the Hugo spritz, Limoncello lemon drop, had the Gruner Veltliner - all really good, We also had an order of the bruschetta, which was ok, and the arancini which was one of the best I've had! The vibes were great in here. It really feels like welcoming and fresh. The service was great. I went as the first stop on my Birthday happy hour crawl. My party had a great time. This place is great for large parties as you can order individually at the counter, and it's seat yourself. As I mentioned, it was my birthday and the employees working really made me feel spacial. They were so sweet the entire time we were there, and they were on top of everything the entire time. They even gave me a free glass of wine!! The food was lovely, and I'd know since we ordered everything off the HH food menu. Even though some of the items I didn't like, I could still tell the quality of the ingredients. The focaccia and polenta fries were my favorites!! They reasons this isn't a perfect five for me is because the HH menu is pretty limited. I am not sure why everyone rave about their hh. It's nothing to recommend or return for. I don't drink so this is for the underwhelming food and sleepy service. The place is nice and spacious but there was no one there on a Monday. The bar waitress seems bored the whole time we were there. Hh menu very limited. And not that good - polenta fries. My daughter liked it. 6 sticks of fries for $5 - fried artichoke. $5 Maybe 8 overly salty fried pieces. Nothing I would order again - bruschetta with white beans. $5 Overdressed. Didn't finish it. Don't recommend. Then ordered ceasar and chicken. Regular pricing like $19 I think. And what you would expect. Overall cannot believe this place gets 4.6 stars average. Me and friends went for a semi-large group happy hour after work on a Tuesday. It was pretty empty, which was great for us to enjoy the space to chat and catch up without being crowded like other bars would be for happy hour. The drink and food specials for happy hour were very well priced (some $4 beers, $7 wine, $9 spritz and $5 snacks)! I enjoyed my spritz and beer, chips and focaccia. Came here for happy hour and I honestly really enjoyed it! The bartender was a super cool guy who gave lots of recommendations and was also open to making anything, even if it wasn't on the menu! If they didn't have a drink or bite on the menu, you could easily head downstairs to pick something up that suits your taste. What a great find!! Sitting on top of DiBruno Bros. Is an amazing restaurant serving al the lovely delicious food items sold before it. We started off with the cocoa with friend. No it doesn't mean drinking the delicious cocoa together but mixed with your choice of alcohol. I picked the amaretto which was an amazing combination of the rich chocolate and almond flavor topping with some of the best whipped cream I have had in a long time. We picked the extravaganza tray due to it offering the largest combination of meats, cheeses, fruit, nuts etc.... It was a perfect combination. Not matter how you sacked it it was an explosion of flavor. I could have sat there all day picking at each morsel offered. So excited to finally check our Alimentari! The decor is always so beautiful especially around this time of the year. Last year, the top floor was only open for holiday gifts and drinks, but they've reopened recently serving drinks and food. We got the tomato soup and the grilled cheese, definitely some strong smelling cheese but sooo delicious. Just had a baby shower here in the upstairs area and it was fantastic! The food was wonderful, so many lovely selections and all of the guests were commenting on how delicious everything was. Many of them went downstairs to buy products afterwards The setting & ambiance was lovely. Music and arrangements made for a social, chatty, relaxed environment and everyone had a great time. I arrived here 5 minutes before it opened. I was greeted by Mike who asked me to wait on the couch. The waiting area is very spacious and homy. Mike is very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Panzanella salad: very delicious. It has shaved brussel sprouts, small diced purple carrots, raisins, hazelnuts, and croutons with light and not acidic dressing. It's a crunchy salad. I had small but I can easily finish the big one. Roasted branzino is served with pastina and capers. It's a little bit too salty because of the capers. The fish is perfectly cooked. Portion size isn't bog so it's perfect for lunch. Budino: rich chocolate but not overly sweet. Great way to end your meal. Service was excellent. Everyone was friendly, courteous, and welcoming. There's a nice selection of pizza available in slices or full pies. Our group split a few meat, cheese, veggie combos- the Caprese and the Rittenhouse. The caprese was probably the best caprese salad I've ever had; there was an oil and salt that took the fresh veggies and cheese to the next level. I had to go for the house of grilled cheese and panuozzo Del Giorno- complete with pesto. There are so many options, which make it a great place for sharing, nibbling and sipping. Speaking of wine, they have a few options on tap. We didn't look at the bottle menu, but the decor was decked out with bottles, so I'd assume they have some good stuff. An excellent spot upstairs from from DiBruno Brothers, one my favorite shops in downtown Philadelphia. The area it's located in downtown is somewhat chaotic so this place is a nice reprieve from all of that. Staff was friendly and service was pretty good. They have a somewhat limited food and drink menu but I think just about anyone could find something here. I had a great cocktail. The have many pizza options, the "Spicy Soppressata" was excellent. This is my favorite restaurant In Philadelphia where I can dress up or dress down. This week, I wore my Eagles jersey to lunch. I had my favorite salad in the world here - a harvest panzanella salad. My husband and I shared lamb gnocchi and a roasted branzino in small portions, but the price of these dishes is for a small potion- the restaurant prices fairly. The lamb was very good, but needed a little more favor for me. The branzino we get every single time. They have good specials, too. One time we had a delicious meatball sandwich. Awesome spot that recently opened right above Di Bruno Bros in Center City. Finally got around to trying it and it was definitely worth the visit. The interior is really aesthetic and has a really laid back vibe. We only ordered a few light bites since it was an odd hour of the day, but everything we got was delicious (charcuterie board and pizza). The pizzas are more personal sized, but they're fairly priced and well made. Our server was also extremely knowledgeable about all of the food and took the time to explain everything that came on the board we ordered. If you're just stopping in for a casual bite I'd say get one of the pizzas and the affogato. The affogato comes with cotton candy on top, which then gets melted by the hot coffee poured over. Will definitely be back to try some of their main dishes soon! read more

Adorable new restaurant located above Di Bruno Bro's market! My sister took my boyfriend and I here for lunch since we were visiting from out of town. What grabbed my attention at first was the beautiful decor which screamed contemporary. The upstairs was spacious with an open bar. Our server was helpful and knowledgable of the menu. It did take some time for our food to come out but luckily we had complimentary bread to keep us distracted. Their bread was delicious and fresh! My boyfriend and sister both ordered soup and we also ordered a meat and cheese platter to share. If you know anything about me, you know I'm charcuterie board fanatic. I must say, this was the most thought-out, creative, and delicious board I've ever had. Oh my god, I would drop everything to go back to Philly and order this again. I love what they did to the place. The decor is still casual but way more modern rustic, and much classier. This place has a great wine and cheese vibe, and the Roman style pizza is delicious. There are various seating areas of all sorts. I came here with my wife on a Saturday and we sat at the bar. They have about 20 stools at the wine bar. We got a glass of red each and shared the pizza sampler. I got the Malbec for $10. My wife got the Cabernet for $12. Both were delicious. The pizza sampler was delicious and quite filling for the both of us. The Margherita was surprising our favorite. The sauce was delicious. This place sounds like a Harry Potter spell. It was exactly what I expected; dibruno food served by a waiter. I think my favorite thing we got was the smoked salmon bruschetta. It was loaded with avocado and had a small kick to it. The cheeses were very good as well. We had no idea what we were doing so we asked for recommendations, and we were happy with them! The Caesar has gigantic leaves that aren't cut so you have to do it yourself. The pizza is super crispy so it's hard cut through to share! The meats were also great, but the olive oil they used was where the real flavor came from. I was disappointed at first that our board lacked any sort of cheese; however, this disappointment quickly went away after the first bite. Wow the food here was really impressive. It is perfect for a nicer casual dinner where everyone can share a bunch of small plates. We really enjoyed the beet toast and the veggie side dishes. I stopped in here for lunch and was not disappointed. I arrived about 10 minutes before the kitchen opened, but they were happy to seat me anyway, letting me know that it would be a few minutes before they could take my order. I was perfectly fine with that, as I was able to take in the elegant decor, and had the opportunity to hear the chef describe the special to the staff. The menu has all the great things you expect from Di Bruno's, plus a few surprises. I noticed the Panuozzo del Giorno, which was described as being like a Campania-style flatbread pizza sandwich. While interesting, I was all set to order a slice or two of their Roman style pizza, but when I heard my server describe the specials, which I'd heard the chef talking about earlier, I decided to get the daily Panuozzo. It was a shaved ribeye steak, with caramelized onions, anchovy bechamel, fresh arugula, and alpine comte cheese with a basil pesto on the side. While I waited for my dish, a plate of breads was brought to my table, including the delicious crostini they sell by the bag downstairs. The service throughout my visit was excellent. My dish arrived quickly, and while not visually stunning, still checked all the aesthetic boxes I'd expected it to. It was the perfect lunch sized portion, and light eaters may find themselves with a little extra to bring home. The tastes were the highlight of the dish. The ribeye was perfectly cooked and shaved thin, the caramelized onions added a sweetness to the dish, while the anchovy bechamel helped elevate the dish to 5 stars. The comte cheese perfectly paired with the ingredients, and the arugula made the dish seem light, while adding an earthiness to it. Lastly, the basil pesto finished off the dish with a wonderful homey Italian flavor. The Panuozzo wasn't too heavy or greasy, and I left feeling full, but not stuffed. I'm looking forward to coming back with friends and trying more of their significant menu. With the opening of Alimentari, a block that already has amazing Italian food just got better. read more

It was clean, cozy and quiet for my family of four. We ordered 2 balsamic chicken sandwiches, kids pizza, and a special hamburger panini. (see photos) Our food came out quickly. After some research I discovered Alimentari. Owned and managed by Di Bruno Brothers, I knew it would be a good stop... It was AMAZING! Dana ordered her Cappuccino, and our waitress recommended a Glass of Cotes du Rhone, Nat and Sens, 2019 from Rhone, France, for me. We decided on a Chef Curated Charcuterie board. The EXTRAVAGANZA. ..L'Amuse Brabander, St. Stephen prosciutto. Smoked Larchmont Bresaola, Mortadella, Sliced Figs, Black Lava Cashews, Hard Parmesan Cheese, Tait Farms Cranberry Chutney, Giardiniera, Whole Grain Mustard, Local Honeycomb, Focaccia & Crostini... Well, starting from the beginning, L'Amuse Brabander is a soft Goat Gouda Cheese from Southern Holland. It was both smooth and creamy with a delicate flavor. The St. Stephen prosciutto was imported from Italy and was very tasty without being too salty or chewy. The Smoked Larchmont Bresaola was a Beef Prosciutto from The French Alps. It was very lean, tender and rich in both color and flavor. I was told It is often called the Filet Mignon of Prosciutto. The Mortadella was a Pork Lunchmeat that tasted very much like bologna. It was studded with Pistachio and seasoned with a mixture of peppers, caraway, and garlic. The Figs were fresh and succulent. The Black Lava, sea salt Cashews were from Hawaii. The hard Parmesan Cheese was bold and not overly pungent. The Tait Farms Cranberry Chutney was sweet, savory and slightly spicy. Giardiniera is an Italian relish of pickled vegetables in oil. Whole Grain Mustard and Local Honeycomb were the condiments provided. Focaccia , a flat leavened oven-baked Italian bread, similar in style and texture to pizza. The Crostini, a sliced bread that was either grilled or toasted and brushed or drizzled with olive oil, was served in a basket with the Focaccia, and was the perfect platform for the charcuterie. My wine was perfect and Dana enjoyed her Cappuccino. Alimentari was the perfect spot for us. The staff was informative and friendly. We asked a lot of questions...
