Stopped in here one night while traveling for a conference. The atmosphere is super cozy and dim. It's exactly what I hope for in a wine bar's atmosphere. Would be great for a romantic date. Service was excellent. Very friendly, helpful, and quick. Pleasant conversation with the bartender. The wine was also very good, best glasses of wine I've had in a while. Each one was flavorful but different from each other. I liked this place so much I came back the next night with a friend. I visited Vintage Wine Bar for some wine on Sunday afternoon and had a very nice time. I had about an hour to kill between a play and dinner. Their wine list was so great I couldn't choose, so I went with one of their flights - Interesting Whites (Tokaj Furmint, Friuli Grave, and Langhe Arneis). The flight was aptly named; the wines were interesting and delicious - a rare combination of white wines in a flight. They offer a great selection of wines (traditional to natural wines, including some skin contact options), but they also have beer and cocktails for anyone in your party that prefers something other than wine. The bar is beautiful - moody, dark, lots of wood, a long bar, several small tables - it's a perfect little wine bar. And the service was great as well. (I didn't eat on this occasion, but they have a full menu of food, and the food ordered by the table behind me smelled great.) I look forward to returning to try more of their wines! read more

5 of us showed up for happy hour and had a great experience! I had the Pinot Grigio on the happy hour list and it was good. Then we had an Orange that was on special for then night, and then another and another because we enjoyed it. The highlight for me, which was totally unexpected, was how delicious Le Burger was! Blown away! One of the best burgers of my life! I had it as it comes, no modifications, cooked medium rare with fries. It was cooked perfectly. Very tender, great flavors, soft bun that wasn't much bread. Just really great! Wish I had a picture of it. Ended the night with dessert. I had the affogato (espresso and vanilla ice cream) and this too was delicious! We had a fun evening and I hope to come back. read more

Such a cute wine bar with amazing cocktails in Philly! I saw a show at the Walnut Street Theatre and we came here for a nightcap. It was open late on a Wednesday, which we love! We ended up getting table service. I had their pumpkin spice espresso martini, which is a special for fall. It wasn't too sweet, and just had the perfect hint of pumpkin spice! Experiencing Vintage Wine Bar on a still peaceful evening was beautiful. I've been a time or two before over the summer but recently, it was remarkable. I started at the bar, great wine variety and much to choose from. I later moved to a table, a high-top up against the wall and had a great time. Very spacious walk way areas for others to pass by and the service from both the bar and my server were outstanding! The burger was very filling, and I had more than enough to take home. They refused to serve us even though we all showed valid, real IDs and offered to show our passport. We were the only Asians in the establishment and the only ones who were refused service. Lovely wine bar ran by absolutely great people. The selections are wide. I highly recommend any of the New World red blends they have. They've never disappointed. Appetizers are also excellent. My fave are the fig and brie crostini, calamari, and the Ratatouille. The crostini was a perfect balance of wonderful textures as well as flavor, a classic sweet and savory bite. The calamari is classic and can't go wrong. Was light and crispy. Ratatouille was good, tomato sauce was light and the perfectly sliced vegetables gave great texture. For dessert, the crèm brûlée was just beautifully done. I did order the salmon but it was too salty to be edible--surprisingly, they took it off the bill without asking. The place is beautiful, the massive chandelier is gorgeous, all the dark wood, it's a really great place to grab a bite to eat and drink. Because we couldn't decide we each went with a wine fight, I did white, Missy went with sparkling. No way was I passing up duck rillette, it was delicious, and loved the grilled bread with it. Very flavorful. The escargot in a herbed cream sauce was tasty but a bit heavy for me. The veggie risotto was calling my name and it was good but the main flavor coming out was red pepper. The rice was cooked perfectly though. It was a nice & hearty dish. And finally, bread pudding. Had a crispy outside, fluffy soft center. Two thumbs up on dessert. We had dinner here with a reservation on Tuesday, December 28th with a party of four at 5:45PM. We were seated in the small outdoor seating area near the front of the restaurant. The heat lamps were on and it felt great outside. This restaurant is predominantly small plates; however, they also have larger plates as well. For myself, I had the Vintage Burger which was absolutely delicious and cooked to my liking. You may look at the menu and think "Why did I get a burger when there are so many other good things on the menu? Oh, don't worry -- I also tried those too. It is the holiday season -- I get a pass to eat as much as I want. The table also shared the butter beans, spiced goat cheese, buffalo cauliflower, and maybe one or two others I got as well. I can only assure you that everything we had was wonderful. The service was good, and not at all rushed. How quickly hours passed by with friends. I would definitely return again to Vintage Wine Bar. I stopped by here on a Saturday night around 10:30 pm with my BF, and we were seated indoors but next to the open windows (since it was warm outside). The table was tiny, which worked out for us anyways since we only ordered wines. I had this place on my list in hopes of getting wine and cheese plates, but since we came here after dinner, we were way too stuffed to eat anything. So, we ordered 3 glasses of wine total - Merlot, Malbec, and Cab. I don't remember the names of the Malbec and Merlot we ordered, but Uppercut (from Napa Valley) was the Cabernet we got, and it was DELISH. My husband and i went to the ballet and were starving after. Decided we would just walk around the area until we happened upon something that looked good. We passed by the warmers over the outside tables at this place, felt so good that i had to stop there. I don't know if the staffing situation that day was typical but it seemed very understaffed: one person on the floor and one person behind the bar. Everything then naturally took so long. We ordered some lattes to start (there is espresso etc available here, just no drip coffee), needed a little pick me up. They weren't pretty but they got the job done, got the caffeine i needed. (also the waitress was a little shaky in bring them over so was liquid everywhere but i had to go inside myself to ask for napkins.) I ordered the pan seared salmon which i really enjoyed, exactly how i love my salmon. The rutabaga mash that came with it was also very good, and i loved that twist instead of regular mashed potatoes but unfortunately it was cold. i am guessing that was plated long before the salmon. My husband got the burger and duck fat fries...the fries were amazing and in general the meal was quite filling. Also they came with a rosemary aioli which was lovely. Because we enjoyed the meal, decided to try dessert and i must say, i would totally come back again for the bread pudding. Was warm and comforting and paired perfectly with the rich ice cream. We also had the creme brulee which was ok. WOW! The perfect place to drink wine in good company while choosing from a unique selection that includes pretty much something for everyone. History lesson: this place used to be an old deli, starting out with humble beginnings and an owner inspired to introduce wines (especially the reds) to people of all sizes 'n income classes. Now, sprouts Phildelphia's best wine bar with a menu that includes chilean zinfandels, tuscan san gioveses plus exotic ones that span all over the globe. We came here for my birthday prior to eating dinner across the street and had zero regrets about picking this place. We met the general manager coincidentally while sitting close to the window - a man who traveled across most parts of Europe and helped create (this) first wine bar in Philadelphia. They have 65 to 70 wines each costing anywhere between 10 and $14 per glass. Yes, every bottle offers a glass so that you can try it without spending much. The walls are decorated with old wine corks and there's a huge chandelier made up of empty bottles. Service was great, the staff hospitable and a menu VERY expansive. A+ and thank you! read more

Soooo...I was planning to go to Sampan for Happy Hour, but the bar was full. So this was a wonderful plan B and will likely be a plan A in the future. It's a great wine bar with comfy bar seats. They have an incredible happy hour. Draft wine, a couple of cocktails, and some beer. I started with their version of an Aperol spritz. I ordered some food, meatballs, shrimp, and the fig/brie crostini. The shrimp was yummy and those meatballs were definitely 90/10 mix, they were so tender. I also tried the draft red and then ordered a glass of wine off the regular menu, which was their orange wine. It had an awesome funk to it that you expect from an orange wine. I came to this place solely to close out my bingo sheet of 13th street establishments however its presence has come to my attention and poked me on the shoulder whenever I have ventured over to sampan/graffiti bar/double knot. This place has happy hour. $3 beers, $4 wines, $4 champ or sangria with some enticing food choices. The house cut fries were served to another table and HOLY FUCK BALLS did they look DI-VINE. Unfortunately I'm doing the whole keto thing now so I had to pass. Not that it's particularly efficacious given my scale's reading this am. I was starving so we went with the meat and cheese duo. Meat was prosciutto and cheese was something extended on a branch of brie's family tree. (this is said by someone wholeheartedly devoted to and a frequent consumer of but without any real legitimate knowledge of cheese). Accompanied by strawberry slices, stone-ground mustard, craisins, and literally, I am not joking here, the largest capers I have ever swooped my line of vision over. Unfortunately I could only eat the cheese and mustard, the capers were honestly probably about the same size or larger than the cheese provided. I ate my share of the one alien caper and honestly, its size creeped me out a little bit. Still hungry and pissed that happy hour at this place ends at 6:30 I considered going to another place that has the decency to extend the specials to the routine time of 7pm. Laziness overwhelmed me and we just stayed put. I ordered the bistro salad, tachycardic secondary to the mention of haricot verts because I am quite the fan of those little guys but also containing other frequent salad ingredients (ie: lettuce) and egg and some dressing. This was pretty good actually, despite the fact that I'm pretty sure there weren't actually any haricot verts? Pants on fire. Anyways, this place is good in a standard kind of way.
