Very nice service, food was good. Vibe of an old cafe in downtown. It just some flies were inside and they were distracting.

We ventured across the Harbour to Dartmouth Nova Scotia to try a place that someone said that vegan donairs are recommended. Ordered the nachos, and vegan donair. I can say that I am not a fan of donair as the sauce is very sweet, and the flavours did not meld well with the savoriness of the wrap itself. The potatoes that were served on the side were delicious. The service was excellent. The waitress noted that I did not like what I ordered and offered to get something else. I did not take her up on that option because I'm the one that chose to order it and it is a matter of preference. Very friendly service. The nachos were excellent. Layers of cheese and plenty of vegetables with the meal. Salsa was tangy and delicious. The ambiance of the restaurant was awesome! Great view along the Harbour and of Halifax from Dartmouth. You could see ships coming in and out of the Harbour from the Atlantic ocean as well as the ferry. This is located right by the ferry terminal.

My veggie pizza was delicious! Lots of everything on this pizza, including lots of delicious sauce. Everyone in my party enjoyed their meals as well. Was a good dinner. The restaurant is across the water from Halifax, at the ferry terminal and it has a great view of the Halifax skyline reflecting on the water. Was quite lovely. It's certainly not as pretty as Vancouver, but oh well. Lol.

. Overdone bruschetta bread hard as rock, ordered bacon wrapped scallops, overdone and fishy.

Had the chic pea salad and fish cakes- both were bland. Daughter had pizza- she didn't like it. Hubby had lamb burger which he enjoyed.

I tried the small gourmet veggie pizza and it was really good, very flavorful, even the tomato sauce had a lot of flavor to it.

The jalapeño cornbread was another standout....moist, flavourful, and with just the right amount of kick. The fish and chips were excellent, while the tater tot-chos were pure comfort food, loaded with melted cheddar, pico de gallo, and sour cream. Of course, we needed some veggies for balance, so the kale and quinoa salad totally counts! The perfect pairing throughout was the Mango Dragonfruit Sour. Super refreshing and fruity, with enough acidity to cut through all the richness of the meal. Great happy hour selection, lots of variety, and a fun spot to settle in for a feast. Definitely a place worth checking out when you're in Halifax!

Made sure we were ok every time he was in the vicinity. I ordered the mushroom Benedict with the hollandaise on the side. It was great with the locally made truffle cream cheese. I did have to ask for a steak knife to be able to cut through the bread. It was a well done piece of pizza dough. Tasty but tough to get through. Came with tater tots and a donair sauce to dip them in. My husband ordered the stuffed baked potato. He loved it but said next time he will order the side salad on the side and ask for more dressing. I ended the meal with a cool glass of rose. We will definitely be back.

The Long Version: My husband and I had dinner here with his sister and her family for her birthday celebration. The interior is very nice and they have a beautiful patio as well. The prices are on the higher end with main courses being mostly $30-$65, although they have a few in the $20+ range. First off, my water glass had something sticky on the rim that was very visible. I notified the server and to his credit he was apologetic and got me a new glass right away, but I feel it's something they should have noticed when setting the table. Both my husband and I had the Bouillabaisse ($42) and although the menu said it came with a sourdough roll, neither of ours did. Again when we notified the server, he was again apologetic and brought us our rolls on a plate. The Bouillabaisse was generally good, although the shrimp were overcooked and a bit rubbery. The clams and mussels were good. The half lobster was very salty, and was a small canner. The potatoes were nicely cooked and the tomato-based broth was flavourful. Others had the whole lobster, the steak frites and the Wagyu fried rice. They seemed to enjoy their meals. We also shared some oysters (I didn't have any though) and mussels. The mussels were good and there was only one that was unopened. I also had a cocktail, the What's Up, Dock? ($15). It had tequila, limoncello, carrot juice and black pepper. It was a bit unusual but I enjoyed it. Others shared a bottle of white wine and some also had beers. The birthday girl had the Figment of our Imagination mocktail and she said it was great. Service was courteous. Overall my opinion is that the restaurant is pretty, and they have a creative drinks menu that's well executed. Service was pleasant but details were missed (dirty glass and missing bread). Food was overall good, but room for improvement (overcooked shrimp and salty lobster). If this was a more casual eatery with lower prices I would have rated 4 stars, but I expected more from this restaurant since it presents itself as nicer than just a casual eatery. ving the Best for Last at Bicycle Thief…read more We saved Bicycle Thief for last, and it ended up being one of the best meals of our Halifax trip. We started with the flash-fried calamari, a great opener served with their sun-dried tomato pesto aioli. But little did I know the standout lobster dish of the trip was hiding in the appetizer section. Their lobster and corn chowder was incredible. Seriously, so, so good. Potatoes, Vidalia onions, and double-smoked bacon added great contrast to the sweet lobster. And you know it's good when you can see that beautiful red lobster oil floating on top. It really showed that they used the lobster shells and all those flavour-packed bits to build the stock. Absolutely delicious. Next came the spaghettini ai frutti di mare, loaded with huge jumbo shrimp, fresh scallops, and mussels in a sun-dried tomato pesto. The seafood was fresh and plentiful. The linguini all'aragosta did not disappoint either. San Marzano tomatoes, cream, and Parmigiano made for a rich and decadent sauce that worked beautifully with the lobster. We also had the crab ravioli, followed by yet another lobster dish, the lobster Thermidor. This was seriously indulgent, with wild mushrooms, Gruyère, and house-made black truffle spaghettini. Rich, savoury, and packed with flavour. After all that decadence, we needed something bright to finish. The crostata al bergamotto was perfect, with a vibrant bergamot citrus curd that cut through the richness and refreshed the palate. Great seafood, incredible pasta, creative flavours, and excellent execution. We definitely saved one of the best for last.
