With respect to Tiger Woods, his eating and drinking place is just another celebrity theme restaurant, a trendy and popular notion across America created by consultants. What's disappointing is that The Woods could be really special but it is not. Entering The Woods, I had the funny notion that it resembled a dark version of BestBuy, only with more large hanging flat screen TVs than a typical BestBuy. Service is attentive and certainly reflects a teamwork approach. The Woods comes up short, in my view, with its menu. It's predictable and fairly dull... heavy emphasis on red meat. That's a bit odd because Jupiter is known for fresh seafood. There is NO fresh seafood on the menu, only previously frozen. I had the fillet which arrived dry, no juice or sauce or anything. I had asked for horseradish and the server suggested "horseradish encrusted." My fillet had a slathering of something that looked like mayonaise, not horseradish. The fillet was tender but flavorless. My guess is that the meat is not of superior quality because is reflects chemically treated beef, not free range or grass fed. read more

McKenzie! Remember that name. Best hostess ever, and only 18 years old. All the servers, ours especially, Henry were excellent. The best service we've had anywhere in a long time, and it was during an NFL playoff game. Food was good with better potential. Came out not hot enough they pleasantly corrected it. Decent atmosphere here with lots of TVs, a wine wall and good lighting so you can watch sports in a higher end environment closer to a Capital Grille type of feel. The lobster bisque is more like beef bisque, it sucks. The lamb app is a great value for the price but not much of that strong lamb flavor and the Romesco sauce is a weird add on. The mac n cheese isn't bad but it isn't good either and has that very grainy texture to the cheese sauce, tastes like a shitload of cheap parm. Wine list is good. We went to the woods last night for my daughters 9th birthday. We were absolutely BLESSED with a server by the name of McKayla. When I tell you she made my little girl feel like an absolute princess while also giving us the best service possible she did that times 10! She made sure my family was taken care of and happy with everything that came out food wise! Which by the way was also incredible, but I don't think I could ever explain how special McKayla made this birthday dinner experience for us. As a mom you want your kid to feel special on their birthday and for her to help me achieve that to the level that she did I could never repay her! The woods is so lucky to have her! I'm not sure if I'm allowed to even post this but here is a picture of McKayla and my daugher! If anyone is reading this and going to the woods make sure you ask for her! Overcooked, very plain, too small a bun that didn't seem fresh, and there was nothing special or tasty about it. My husband has been a fan of Tiger's for as long as I've known him so for his birthday this year I wanted to be sure to take him to The Woods. We were greeted and seated promptly at a table that, although it was close to the front door and the bar, was incredibly private and cozy. Our waitress, Kelly, was amazing and made us feel right at home. We ordered 2 happy hour drinks (the best old fashioneds we've ever had) and brussel sprouts that were super tasty. My husband's steak and broccoli along with my salmon were cooked to perfection and paired perfectly with our 2 glasses of La Crema Pinot Noir. Although the evening would have been made even more special if Tiger had made an appearance, we felt like he was there with the many TV's everywhere you looked with him playing in the Farmers Insurance Tournament. A must do meal when in town . It's so well conceived and executed , other food joints should get on the clue bus! Astute staff and a broad menu . I suppose tourists and kids are a given. No doubt locals like it ! Tuna for dinner was sushi grade and about as good as it gets . Turkey burger for lunch was cooked correctly and for me a tad salty , but I have cut my Salty fix a lot so the normal diner wouldn't notice. Thank you Tiger ! My curiosity about how this establishment thrives had me ask staffers, discreetly , what makes this harmony if food service and decor , rate such great reviews . Those I spoke with seemed very happy, secure and anticipate the customers path. My guess is this brilliant hiring leads to little turnover and a place sought out to work for . Typically many eateries experience huge turnover and are an ok I need a job place. Not here. Professional in all facets . How refreshing ! I didn't have to ask for mustard for my turkey burger . This was poor. First they were late in seating us and sent us to the bar to buy some drinks. When we were seated our starters came out promptly and were good. The mains were another story. My lobster tails were over seasoned and no longer had any lobster taste. My wife ordered a pork chop cooked to medium. It came out well done, which she could not even chew. The second one came our charred on the outside and totally raw on the inside. Finally on the third attempt they got it right. Medium as ordered. This review and one star isn't about the food. It's about the hostesses who greeted my husband, my 2 y/o old son and I today 12/28/18. It was 4:45 pm, and after 10 mins asking me how many seats we needed and if we needed a high chair... she then goes on saying she has nothing available because all of her reservation are coming in the next 30-45 minutes. The place was EMPTY! I have a two year old I won't be there for anymore than 45 minutes. She said she couldn't seat us. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. Tell me more about restaurants that book all their tables solid at 4:45pm so no walk ins can be accommodated? When I asked for the manager she rolled her eyes and walked towards the back. We left... I was disappointed in both the food and the staff. The food was bland and nothing special at all. Mine was not prepared well as the steak was tough and chewy. The staff was busy chatting the entire time and it took over 15 minutes to get the attention of someone to get water for the table - I literally had to stand up and flag them down. My husband couldn't leave the West plan area without visiting "Tiger's Place", so to The Woods we went. We were greeted by bright and cheery hostesses and seated promptly (we had reservations). Our server was also cute and cheery, with a good dose of humor (we like humor). She talked me into a pineapple drink that was just as good as she described. The food was pretty darn good (I had the snapper and the waitress suggested substituting spinach for the pasta - she was full of helpful hints! My husband had the salmon dish. We ordered mac n cheese as he'd read good things, unfortunately, ours came out room temperature. Not sure what happened but once we told the waitress, they brought out another dish that was piping hot. Dessert- you've got to try the s'mores casserole!!!! It was heavenly and I do believe I ate most of it by myself :). I would definitely recommend "Tigers Place" if you're in the general area. read more

I've been wanting to go here for a long time. It's just a cool looking place from the outside. It really looks fancy. They have valet parking in front, but you have to pay for it. So, yeah. No thanks. I finally got the chance to check this place out for my birthday. I went with some friends. I made a reservation, and much to my surprise we got our own private room. It was really nice! We had a bunch of TVs, our own little booth and table area. I loved it. The way I would describe this place is like an upscale sports bar. The prices are very much like a steakhouse. You have your standard steakhouse type fare, but also some sports bar type food. It was my birthday, so I got the filet. It was delicious. The only problem was that it was the biggest one they had, and I found it to be smaller than most filets. It wasn't the pre-cooked weight, it was just how it appeared on the plate. I just thought the presentation itself was kind of lacking. No doubt it was good, but it could've been more for the price. We also had some lamb chop lollipops as an appetizer. It was really tasty. That was a recommendation from our awesome waitress. We all really liked her. She was impressed I could tell she was Cuban. It's the little things, ya know? Anyway, I would definitely come back here for a nice night out. I just probably wouldn't get the steak because it's a tad overpriced. Server never came to see how our meal was after delivering it and we had to flag down another server to get our drinks refilled. When you are paying those prices, you expect good service. While I enjoyed the hot lemon towels, golf score card for their checks and the leather restroom stall hardware the food and drinks are not up to par. Fish tacos were salty. Shrimp dry and burger oh hum. For the price it was not worth the decent fries. We left before dessert opting for a store bought candy bar over more disappointment. We had early dinner yesterday at The Woods..It is a very stylish looking restaurant, understated and sexy. Drinks at the bar were good, while waiting for our cousins. We were shown to a nice booth, comfortable and spacey which is nice for a change. The wait staff was fabulous! Various drinks and apetizers and entrees were ordered, all of which were very good, topped off with a donut desert which was warm and good. Everyone loved their food as I did, however i ordered a half slab of ribs which consisted of "five ribs", while my cousin ordered the same and had many more..Mind you it was enough to eat, yet the kitchen should take note of this if they wish to continue with this very good restaurant. Our assigned server was amazing. The service overall with regard to wrong entree and long delays at really every point of the meal could use some improvement. The manager made it sound as though I had sent my steak back for wrong temperature when in fact it was the wrong entree. Excuses and apologies with regard to new chef etc. 15 minutes went by.... The chef must have also thought this because my strip steak was medium well to well done. Did not want to send back again as my colleague had already finished his meal already by the time mine came out. Frustrating. The ladies working the door are awesome helping me find a hat to take home for my son. I like this place I just hope they improve their back of the house precision and not rely on the Tiger effect. When a manager comes over to handle a situation perhaps they should take time to figure out the actual issue. Visiting The Woods Jupiter 8/22/2015. Was so excited to try this restaurant with my family, that I waited outside in the sweltering heat from 3:15 to 4:00 PM just to make sure I was able to get a table. Little did I realize that the un-orderly pushy crowd that arrived at 3:55 PM and pushed their way past me were only in a rush to get seated around the bar for happy hour priced drinks. The girls at the reception desk were very welcoming and friendly, sitting us a great table area of 4 tables and 2 flat screen TV's all to ourselves. Excellent start! The waiter was very friendly and professional, taking drink and appetizer orders and pointing out favorites. We started off with the spicy calamari with crumbled blue cheese which was excellent and the Buffalo wings which were dry and below average. Not coated in sauce like you would expect Buffalo wings to be. Below average at best. We ordered the center cut pork chop ($22) , the Waygu Strip Steak ($42), Twin Lobster Tails ($32) and the Seafood Pescatore ($32) The center cut port chop was excellent. The Waygu Strip Steak with Expresso rub was delicious (Waiter did NOT mention the rub was an additional $3) Twin lobster tails were very fresh and large size. Delicious! The Seafood Pescatore (although the seafood was cooked right), was bland at best. Any restaurant that serves seafood in Florida, should know how to make it perfect, but with this dish, this was not the case. If this is all I had ordered I would have been sorely disappointed. The sauce is just not what it should be or even close to it. Most went uneaten. For desert we ordered the creme brulee. Excellent! Berries and Cream (Black raspberries were extremely sour) Raspberry Cheese Cake which was delicious. The decor and the entire restaurant is not a $8 million dollar restaurant or anywhere close to $8 million. I would like to see some facts to back up this claim. This restaurant is not a free standing building, just a remodeled space in an existing building in Harborside Place in Jupiter across the street from Tommy Bahamas. The bar seems to take up at least 1/2 of the entire restaurant and I think there were 16 flatscreens around the bar. The bar was packed for happy hour and maybe the idea of revenue is mainly aimed at the bar and not the restaurant? There is a wall size wine storage cooler with at least 500 bottles. Why so much wine with such a limited menu? Maybe the aim is for revenue from the elderly teetotalers who flooded the bar at happy hour. The huge, huge, huge disappointment is that you would never, ever know Tiger Woods owned this restaurant if you were not told before hand. There is zero Tiger Memorabilia, no pictures of Tiger, No Trophy case, No merchandise for sale, nothing. So in hindsight, after the hype of actually being in there wore off, there was nothing even relating the place to Tiger Woods at all. My son was very disappointed and thought the decor at Applebee's was much better. There are ton's of TV's, all tuned to the same channel of the golf tournament Tiger Woods is currently playing in, no other channels on 20+ TV's. This restaurant is not fancy, not a five star restaurant and never will be. As many posters have stated it is a cool to know Tiger Woods owns this restaurant and you had the experience, but in the end, it is nothing more than a local place that seems to focus more on expensive cocktails and wine, than on food. The waiter was super, giving my son a couple of The Woods golf balls to take home. I was happy to experience it first hand to know what it was really like, however, it is one and done for me and my family. There is nothing going on accept a bar full of elderly trying to get their binge on during happy hour when the drinks are cheaper. Maybe that was the intent all along but it needs to be said, there is nothing inside that would remotely give you any clue this was related to Tiger Woods; which I feel is really odd and quite opposite of Shula's. read more
